Welcome to the forum, Lindquist!

First of all, there is no danger in taking B12 or any of the vitamins indefinitely. They are water soluble and you will excrete any excess in your urine. They are not toxic. But if your levels are now adequate or above normal you may quit taking the supplement as long as your gut is healed so that you don't lose ground with B12 levels over time. Are you strict about your gluten free diet? How long since your diagnosis? Have you had follow-up testing, either blood antibody testing or biopsy since you were initially diagnosed and if so, did the testing show gut healing?

LCHF Is that LowCarbHighFiber?

What is the cause of your low stomach acid?

Vitamin B12 is only in animal sourced foods. The normal range for vitamin B12 (total) is between 200 – 1100 ng/L (nanograms per liter), 200 – 1100 pg/mL (picograms per milliliter), or 148 – 811 pmol/L (picomoles per liter).  Even at large doses, vitamin B12 is generally considered to be safe because the body does not store excess amounts.

You need B12 all your life. It is only found in animal products so a vegan will need to supplement always.  On gluten free diet as your gut heals malabsorption will get better and you may not need supplemental B12 IF YOU GET ENOUGH IN YOUR DIET. The total B12 plasma test is considered accurate so use it to guage your need. If your are deficient in B12 you also should look at intake of other B vitamins. High homocysteine levels could be caused by low intake of B6 or Choline, or B12 or Folate. It is an indicator of inflammation.

eight B complex vitamins—thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, folate, vitamin B12, pantothenic acid, and biotin—and choline. These water-soluble nutrients fall into two categories: those involved in the reactions of intermediary metabolism related to energy production and redox status and those involved in the transfer of single-carbon units. The B Vitamins and Choline: Overview and Methods

Thanks for replay, i am also milkprotein allergic caused of my other allergy symtoms i have of cat, dog, horse, mold, grass, birch, so i must avoid dairy products too, so i drink coconut milk or almond milk now. Hope that will work better for me. I think to eat paleo is better if im allergic to milk.

We have reports frequently on this forum of celiacs being made ill by products made from modified wheat starch that has supposedly been rendered so as to meet the qualifications for marketing it as "gluten free". For example, DiGiornio's Gluten Free Pizza.  I suspect it depends on how sensitive to minor amounts of gluten the individual person is. 20ppm is on the cusp. If in doubt, I would avoid it.

http://celiacindia.org.in/about-celiac-disease/celiac-disease/prevalence/ The incidence of celiac disease in India is the same as in the West. There has been a dramatic increase in the diagnosis of celiac disease in the past 30 or so years in developed countries. This has coincided with the development of good diagnostic tools and greater awareness and may also indicate higher rates of development of the condition due to changes in diet, environmental toxins, overuse of antibiotics and whatever things contribute to gut dysbiosis in our modern lifestyles. Some people believe that hybridization of wheat to produce varieties that are more drought and disease resistant and contain more gluten has also contributed to the problem.

The onset of celiac disease can happen at any stage of life. And I don't think wheat is any less a part of the typical American diet than it is in India. But it may be true that we probably introduce wheat later into the diet after birth in the West than is common in India. I'm not sure it is accurate to say that having Asian genes affects the diagnostic process. Celiac disease is not uncommon in India. We have lots of Indian celiacs who have participated in our forum. It probably is true that the recognition of celiac disease in India by the medical profession happened later than it did in the West but I think it has become just as common in India as it has here.

Thank you. Constipation is not a big problem, but have irritable bowel issues, more diarrhea. The burning chronic pain in my bladder is unbearable.  I also have increased pressure in my pelvis.

@Wheatwackedcan you elaborate your systems and after how many years of eating gluten you and your family get dignos with celiac,  did you do endoscopy? What was the state of you small intestines or lining, it casued any major damage is long run? In india dr don't even test for celiac as whaet is part of indian food and we have been eating since birth. Hence I don't trust doctors here.

@trents i m just confused as his billirubin is high 1.4 and EVB virus detected. Not sure if that's causing his Igg Iga numbers high or hr has celiac.  This whole process made us stress. Not dr is good enough here to get to the conclusion,  definitely i will consult in india, as here medical is very poor,  only cure is good, diagnosis process is pathetic! They should guide is better way, why his billi is high, why EVB VIRUS test detected positive,  how it's different from being Asian and American genes, eating habits and overall.
