For a while I’ve had swollen lymph glands and small red sores under my tongue but cannot find what the cause is or how to feel better.Has anyone else had this? Or know what this is? I’ve been to my Dr lots of times , new cream to put on them, never worked . Anti bacterial/ anti fungal  mouth wash , didn’t work . I’m tired of all the pain.

Welcome to the forum, countrylass!

Have you been diagnosed with celiac disease? I assume you have or are investigating this possibility or thinking their might be a connection between celiac disease and the symptoms you describe.

The symptoms you mention would not be typical of celiac disease, unless the sores under your tongue are canker sores:

Yes I am celiac and was diagnosed in 2007 and have been gluten free since then. I’m also allergic to chromium and nickel.

It's possible that nutrient deficiencies are causing the canker sores.

The most common nutrient deficiencies associated with celiac disease that may lead to testing for the condition include iron, vitamin D, folate (vitamin B9), vitamin B12, calcium, zinc, and magnesium.  Unfortunately many doctors, including my own doctor at the time, don't do extensive follow up testing for a broad range of nutrient deficiencies, nor recommend that those just diagnosed with celiac disease take a broad spectrum vitamin/mineral supplement, which would greatly benefit most, if not all, newly diagnosed celiacs.

In case you may be getting hidden gluten, this article has some detailed information on how to be 100% gluten-free:

Hello, I went to a General Doctor and I had them run some blood work for thyroid levels, gluten levels to check if I am getting gluten somewhere and I am waiting on the results of this work. I have an appointment with my Dr in a couple of weeks so I will let you know the results.

I don't think there is a test for gluten levels. But there are tests for gluten induced antibody levels in the case of celiac disease.

Thank you , that is what they are doing then. I’ll post results in a few weeks.

When you post results, please include the ranges for negative vs. positive for each test ordered. Unless we have the ranges we can comment much because each lab uses their own test parameters. There is no industry standard for celiac antibody test ranges.

Thanks a lot! I will search that too. I also talked to another doctor and she assured me there is no gluten in this type of antibiotics. Anyway i started the administration of Augmentin on my girl this evening. I hope there will be no problems.

Good afternoon, I don’t know if anyone here has ever tried Braswell’s products like their marmalades or jellies? Are they gluten-free? On the ingredients says “cane sugar, cherries (cherries, cane sugar), strawberries, corn syrup, pectin and citric acid. That ingredient list is from their berry preserve bottle. Most of them say the same for ingredients, but I’m not sure if it is okay to consume.

I have seen this problem many times. I always get in touch with the company. Most times they tell me if I'm just gluten free it is ok, but do not eat it if you are celiac. Calling the company is the best way when you are not sure. Yesterday I had a different example of products being marked gluten-free.  I love chocolate and have a piece each day. The chocolate bar I like is Chocolove. When I bought one this week it was not marked gluten-free. I called the company to find out why and if it was still gluten-free.  Turns out the manufacturer decided there was too much on the wrapper and took off the gluten-free label. It is made in a dedicated gluten-free facility.
