Kroger Changes?

StrongerThanCeliac

Hi all,

I could be off-base here,  but wanted to reach out and see if anyone has experienced anything similar.

I’ve talked to a couple of reps at Kroger, still no definitive answers. But should know something next week as the last rep I talked to reached out to their supplier.

I had a reaction to Kroger frozen cut Italian green beans for the first time. Also, potentially the lean ground beef. Neither of these have the gluten-free label. I cannot remember if they used to. But multiple reps have confirmed that the frozen veggies are processed on the same line as everything else but they do acid and allergen rinses in between. The last rep reached out to the supplier to confirm if this has always been the process or if this recently changed.

I had another rep tell me if it’s labeled gluten-free at Kroger then it’s processed on a separate line.

Has anyone else reacted to Kroger products recently? Is the acid and allergen rinse enough to prevent cross contamination?

Thank you.

Neither product you mentioned is typically processed in a way that would lead to cross-contamination with wheat, but, of course, there are no guarantees that this could not happen. Is there any chance that you might have eaten anything else that could be an issue, or that you could have an additional food intolerance to something else you ate?

@CeliacPsycho246, You might try cutting out dairy.  Some of us react to Casein, the protein in dairy, the same as to gluten.

Yep, the edit window times out very quickly. It's okay. I got a good laugh out of it.

I wrote that by mistake and there is no where I can edit this.

I hope you meant "pen pal" instead of "paypal".
