Is it possible to be glutened by heavy smoke from wildfires??

Hi! I have been feeling super weak, fatigued and just not right lately and it feels like I’m being glutened, but I’m 100% positive it’s nothing I’ve done or eaten recently. In my area we have heavy smoke and have been for a week or so and I’m just curious does anyone know if it’s possible to be inhaling anything that could be causing me to be glutened? We have a lot of farmers and land that is on fire so I was honestly just curious like if wheat or barley is burning would that effect someone with celiac disease?

Hi, I hope this helps! I would imagine ingesting the burning wheat and or barley have the same effects on celiacs as if you were to breath in airborn wheat or barley! I found these but couldn’t upload the whole story! If you google does burning wheat smoke or burnt barley smoke affects celiacs! Good Luck☘️

While I can understand the idea that you could get wheat contamination from working around wheat fields, I am not sure if the same thing would happen if the wheat burned and you breathed in the smoke. I suppose it would need to be studies, and I've never heard of such a study.

I live in an area in Northern California where there have been severe wildfires, but we don't have any gluten grains growing nearby, and I've experienced symptoms of tiredness, headaches, breathing issues, etc., just by breathing in the smoke for extended periods of time, so if possible consider ordering N95 masks and masking up.

I was checking aip diet and discovered that aspirin is prohibited. I definitely can understand why that is but my cardio dr says to stay on it. So aip is done before I even get started.

You are more than welcome.  I think there are quite a lot of different types out there, my own nutritionist was a v. highly qualified scientist as well, but at least you can see what qualifications they are which seem to be quite well stated.  I wish you all well on your son's coeliac journey. Thanks for the info @knitty kitty! I really appreciate when people recommend things for me to try, it helps a lot! I will run this stuff by my doctor at my next appointment next week. It is also good to know I am not alone with the continued reactions though. It has been pretty difficult for me and has taken a bit of a toll on my mental health. Trying so hard and dedicating so much time to resolve this issue just to feel like I am running around in circles. But i'm glad to get some insight from people who have experienced the same thing. My family and friends just keep saying i'm crazy andthat i'm a hypochondriac. But the only thing that has gotten me this far in my journey and this close to figuring it out is not listening to them and believing in myself.

Thank you for responding.  Yes I am.  Infact, sometimes I think it's getting worse. How do you deal with it? I do the best I can but it has taken away my independence.
