Can you provide the various test results along with the reference ranges? Different labs use different ranges.

A weak positive is still a positive, so it's possible your child may have celiac disease. Were they eating gluten daily for 6-8 weeks leading up to the test?

This article might be helpful. It breaks down each type of test, and what a positive results means in terms of the probability that you might have celiac disease. One test that always needs to be done is the IgA Levels/Deficiency Test (often called "Total IGA") because some people are naturally IGA deficient, and if this is the case, then certain blood tests for celiac disease might be false-negative, and other types of tests need to be done to make an accurate diagnosis. The article includes the "Mayo Clinic Protocol," which is the best overall protocol for results to be ~98% accurate.

yes gluten has been in diet when testing. blood wrk deaminated gliadin  iga value 24.82 standard <=19.99 negative <20 weak positive 20-30 positive >30    tissue transglutaminase iga  value 6.40 standard <=5.99  negative <6 weak positive 6-9 positive >9  endomysial iga value <1:10 standard range<1:10

we do have an apt with anGI dr just getting some insight..

So it looks like your child has two weak positive test results for celiac disease, and they have a normal IgA level, which means that the tests are accurate (low IgA can cause false negative, or lower than normal IgA antibody test results).

Was your child eating at least 2 slices of wheat bread worth of gluten daily for 6-8 weeks before the blood test? If not, then the results would likely have been higher. Be sure they keep eating gluten daily until all testing for celiac disease is completed.

No not eating like that before the test eating gluten but not like the wheat bread not exactly sure how much. but will continue as normal until dr tells us otherwise cause I know they will probably do further testing so in your opinion is likely she does have it?

Scott Adams Grand Master

I'm not a doctor, but the blood tests indicate that there is a high possibility of celiac disease so it's best to do all of the testing. Just be sure your child eats a good amount of gluten daily until testing is completed. See the article I shared for more details about what the blood test results mean.

Hi @jadeceoliacuk I am a UK based coeliac and I have used a private nutritionist a few times. She is very highly qualified and having just googled her details, she is listed on this website (see link).  For that reason, I think you could trust the listings here as I am quite sure she would not want to associate with this website unless it was a professional, trustworthy resource. https://www.nutritionist-resource.org.uk/ I hope this helps. thank you knitty kitty. I will give those articles a read. Yes he is deficient in Iron and Vit D, that is all they tested for. Do you have any tips for finding a pediatric nutritionalist? He has an NHS dietician who has been helpful sending me generalised info on increasing Iron and cutting out dairy but they won't see him now for another year and I feel like I need more support than that...

Yes,  Lisinopril gave me an inguinal hernia from the persistant cough. Amlodipine doubled urine output and dry eyes so I could not wear contacts, another had me walking bent over like a ninety year old and one knocked out control of my quadracepts so knees would give out.  None lowered my blood pressure. Average BP  132/67 for Oct 21 - 26.  Lowest was 100/59. High 157/62.
