Blood Test Borderline?

We all got out blood tests back. My DD and I are negative. My Son is inconclusive although responding very well to the diet. My DH test is borderline. Just barely negative. What does that mean? Are the tests as inconclusive for adults as they are for kids? What should we do now?

:(

He should have a biopsy. My tests were borderline too, but I was already on the diet for two months before I had my blood drawn. The diet has helped me dramatically and that is enough for me. My son also has celiac disease. I did not have the biopsy because I didn't want to start eating wheat again to find out what I already knew. ONe of my other son's was tested too and his tests were completely negative.

My sons blood results were borderline (scored a 7 ,8 is positive for tTg,and had a weak positive EMA result)

Owing to the fact that his Dad is a diagnosed coeliac, his paediatrician has referred him for a biopsy.

Just waiting for the appointment now.

I should also mention that my husband had negative bloods, but as symptoms continued had a biopsy which showed 'villous atrophy'.

Personally I would go for biopsy. :)

My oldest son's test result was 7 too but his doc said anything under 10 was negative--however, he is not showing any symptoms other than food intolerance to nitrates and cinnamon).

I am asking that my youngest son get tested now when we see the doc this afternoon (it is to the point where I can't get him out of the bathroom and we don't want to discuss the gas)!!!

How about getting the celiac gene test? Then you will know for sure if they have the celiac gene or not. If your doctor won't order one, then you could order one from enterolab. Open Original Shared Link

Agreed. Dairy is just as bad as gluten for me.

Many probiotics start with growing the bacteria on a dairy substrate leaving traces of dairy in the probiotics.   Many Celiacs react to dairy in the same way as they react to gluten because certain protein chains in dairy resemble gluten protein chains.   @Wheatwacked ferments his own pickles.  Perhaps he can chime in.

The AIP diet does have a vegetarian version.   Dr. Sarah Ballantyne developed the AIP diet for herself and her children, all Celiacs.  The AIP diet has been shown in scientific studies to promote intestinal healing.  You might visit her website.  https://www.thepaleomom.com/
