So I’ve been having stomach issues since a kid they said I was allergic to dairy I would get constant stabbing pains in my stomach after eight when I was 18 they did a scope down my throat and found that my stomach was very red and irritated, but couldn’t see why I also started getting a really bad rash when I was in culinary school and they biopsied it and told me that I was allergic to something but they weren’t sure why it at that same time I quit being a cook and worked at a register at a restaurant, but every time I eat oily food, I would get stabbing pains. I’m now 35 the rash has changed. I don’t get such white little dots and it’s not that itchy any more. But my doctor is telling me I just have A form of eczema it only stays on my hands, but I’ve had days where me and my son ate blueberry waffles for dinner, and I woke up the next day, completely covered in hives all over my face. I’m usually always low in potassium always pretty tired with muscle cramps and love bread. My brother also has the same type of stomach problems. He’s about 15 years older than me and they can’t figure out what his seizures are caused from and is throwing up. I’ll post a picture of my lab results and my doctor is telling me I’m negative for celiac. What should I do. I’ve also noticed after completely cutting out gluten for about a month. My rash completely went away. The lesions on my hands closed I lost. It was a picture of what the rash looks like now, but when I was younger that used to swell up and was very itchy. I just feel like I’m right when I think I have celiac it explains so much of my life but my doctors telling me I don’t am I crazy lol????

Actually, can someone tell me how to add a picture I don’t know how

Welcome to the forum community, @Sam808!

There is a very short time window for editing posts and including attachments. Start a new post, have your pics ready and use the paperclip tool in the lower left corner of the new post window. There is also a file size limit for pics. With the high pixel count of today's phone cameras, you may need to resample the pics to reduce the file size. Irfanview is a free program that is good for this. It might be easier just to type in the lab results. I would be interested to know exactly which tests were run. Please include the reference ranges for postive vs. negative for each test. Was the blood draw for the lab done after you had quit consuming gluten for a month? If so, that would sabotage the test results.

Your symptoms certainly could be celiac disease. If your rash goes away for the first time in decades after going gluten-free for a month, it is another indication that this could be the case.

Approximately 10x more people have non-celiac gluten sensitivity than have celiac disease, but there isn’t yet a test for NCGS. If your symptoms go away on a gluten-free diet it would likely signal NCGS.

vitamin D levels in obsessive-compulsive disorder "The number of participants with vitamin D insufficient ... and vitamin D deficiency ... in the OCD group was statistically significantly higher than the control group... and also the number of participants whose vitamin D levels were in the normal range ... in the OCD group was statistically significantly lower than the control group." Low vitamin D iscommon in Celiac Disease patients. Also no lithium in drinking water (bottled water) or in areas with low ground water Lithium contributes to anxiety. Association between naturally occurring lithium in drinking water and suicide rates The EPA calculated a provisional oral reference dose (p-RfD) of 2 μg/kg-day using the Provisional Peer-Reviewed Toxicity Value   https://www.epa.gov/system/files/documents/2023-11/ucmr5-technical-fact-sheet-lithium-in-drinking-water.pdf Should we all take a bit of lithium?! Raising my vitamin D to 80 ng/ml and taking 5 mg a day of Lithium Orotate for a few month helped me.

After 3 months without gluten he will have healed and his blood tests will be negative. That does not mean "not celiac, ok to eat wheat, rye and barley again.  It does mean the diet is working.  Many of those recently diagnosed with Celiac Disease are often deficient in vitamin D and other vitamins and minerals.  It's a side effect called Malabsorption.  Get his blood checked for 25(OH)D level to be sure.

Yeah, but that's probably not where you want to eat, anyway.

Anyone try this? No matter what the brand, probiotics have ALWAYS made me break out bad. I am hesitant to try this simply for that fact, but I ordered a 3 month supply. Any input would be appreciated. Wish me luck.

@llisa, I am curious to know how much vitamin D you are taking and what is your plasma level in nmol/L or ng/ml what the doctor's target 25(OH)D is. Hopefully with the gluten free diet you'll be able to feel better.
