canned salmon gluten free?

Could not find product that states gluten-free on label. Salmon starts out gluten-free but what happens in canning facility. Safe catch brand claims nothing with gluten is processed at facility where cooking and canning takes place which is in thailand. Any thoughts?

glucel.  There's a lot of cost, including liability issues when a manufacture labels a product gluten free to be sold in the USA.

Thanks captain. Sounds right as I am spending more on food as a newbie celiac. I will probably upgrade to safe catch. It sounds safer as the name implies but cost almost twice as much. Probably return to store brand once villi begin to work again.

Can you tell us the brand of salmon you are referring to? It's doubtful that gluten would be added in a canning factory in Thailand, but still possible. What are the full ingredients?

Thanks Scott, The ing are salmon and salt. I had been buying aldi brand 14.5 oz can for around $3.30 but very difficult to get info on. I may upgrade to Safe Catch ($3.09 for only 5 oz) which claims to be gluten-free but does not say that on the can label. The co rep said most all fish canned in thailand or viet nam. So it seems that probably aldi brand and safe catch brand are processed in the same facility, however, the quality of safe catch judging from the description is better. I usually add dressing to the salmon so deciding between the two brands will be difficult.

It sounds like it is naturally gluten-free, and both Thailand and Viet Nam are not countries that produce or use much wheat. Normally wheat is declared as an allergen if it is used in the same facility, usually with: "Made in a facility that processes wheat," but this I believe is a voluntary declaration and it isn't required on the label unless it is an actual ingredient.

      Reishi and cordyceps are immune modulators, they stop you reacting so much/producing antibodies to lectins. Uptake is better when taken as a tincture, you can buy it pre made as a tincture, usually vodka based, or make your own which is much cheaper. You can find instructions online, basically powdered mushrooms soaked in strong alcohol for a month, shaking regularly. Then the strained mushrooms are heated gently in water for 8 hours, strained again and the water then combined with the first alcohol extract.
