This wouldn't be the "water" guy would it?? B)

LOL!! Nooooooo....its definately not the "water" guy.

I never took him up on his offer....he still comes into my work but nope....its not him. ;)

I cant go to Germany until I'm able to eat more foods. I dont wanna be stressing over foods when I'm there...I wanna eat whatever I want. Homemade spaghetti (which actually has sauce on it!), sausages, garlic bread, etc. I wanna really enjoy myself...I wanna rachel everything! :D

So yeah....if my diet is expanded by then I'll fly over there and I'll do whatever I gotta do to get the laser! That'll be my mission...only second to the homemade pasta. B)

I think Carla posted about this a while back, but I can't remember exactly. Has anyone tried Open Original Shared Link? I'm having increasing problems with anxiety (and am becoming increasingly dissatisfied with my counselor <_<:() and have some very specific things I need to address. :)

Yea, I'm going through stuff with my counselor too! <_< It's no fun at all! If you ever want to talk, you know where to find me. :)

You can find out about sulfites by using the sulfite strips. Kassandra took that test not too long ago. I'd do it too but I dont wanna pay the dang $55 shipping charge!

Yea, we did pay that stupid shipping charge! I actually think it was $32 for shipping and $55 for the strips...not so sure though.

Yeah, the numbers are really different!! 'Course I translated them from Chinese, but I am pretty sure. I read that labs vary a lot so you can't easily compare them. I am still in range on these according to this lab, except TIBC which is up just a bit.

Overall I think it points to folate being a little down but still ok (or probably recovering).

Actually, it's really interesting. My folate is always too high! The more Iron I get, the lower it goes. It's strange. I think the Dr explained that the folate goes with the iron, so when there is no iron, there is too much folate. Not sure though if that's right.

I dont know Paula....it could be the stress from the c/s that pushed you over the edge. If you were already "on the edge" it doesnt take much to push us over sometimes.

LOL...Yes it does!

Thanks for the laugh Paula!!

Maybe i was on the edge with my first son when i had my epidural. Then when i went to have my 2nd son 5 weeks early and they gave me tuberline(i dont htink i spelt that right lol) to stop my contractions then decided i had to have him NOW, cause he thought he would come out feet first lol. It was very traumatizing cause they had said there was chance one or both of us could die. I just remember after it was over, I was shaking for hours and could not stop, they kept saying it was cause i was cold, but id idnt buy that.

Maybe Ill break down and get the strips if we get the rebate check in june lol.

Im glad I made you laugh lol

I lost track...who had the highest score? Who had the lowest? I know someone beat out Paula (which I'm sure made her feel better :P ).....was it April?

If I remember correctly Donna had the highest score.

I think April was just below Paula but I don't remember that one.

Yes Donna was the highest, then me, then april. And yes it did make me very happy lol

Next week....wednesday. :(

I dont think it'll be a permanent move....maybe 2 years...I dunno.

I'm thinking that since I have problems with short term memory all of this might be forgotten in a few weeks anyway. :P

HEY!!!....on the bright side of things the move is to Germany :o ....AND I might be going there for a visit later on this year!! :D

I will look for the laser while I'm there. ;)

Two years is not long at all. By then you will be completely healthy. I would love to go to germany. My brother was stationed over there for 2 years, but only my dad got to go and see him.

Yea, we did pay that stupid shipping charge! I actually think it was $32 for shipping and $55 for the strips...not so sure though.

what was the site you got them from again, so i can book mark it. I will be afraid to find out tho lol

I forgot to post that I am getting frustrated with my hair test. I emailed them 2 days ago asking about when i would get my results due to it being an 3 day weekend. I have not heard back from them. I really want my results and it is drivng me crazy. When i overnighted my hair, they said they would put an rush on it, which meant 3-5 days.

I also wanted to say since they took the old porch out, I have been feeling better. Yesterday i cleaned out an flower bed that was full of nasty weeds and then i painted my stairs and cleaned the whole house. I think the mold in the porch was adding to lots of my no energy days lol.

That's interesting. My folate was barely in the okay range in the intercellular test I had last winter.

So, I took the test... and I have no idea how you guys got the %s. I have the page with the boxes with "x" in them saying which ones I got right and which ones I got wrong, but nothing more. It's going to be high, though... my eyes kept doing "fireworks" while I was trying to concentrate... and I could see hardly anything.

...

Does anyone have advice for what to do for eczema? I'm using a steroid cream on my arms, but it's also on my face now and it hurts. :( I'm currently only washing my face with either EVOO or water, and just skimmed a washcloth with very diluted castile soap over my face in the shower.

The percentage was just in a one sentence paragraph kind of at the beginning...the graphs were farther down. My right eye got 20 wrong and my left eye got 18 wrong. :P

I had eczema when I was very young, but I don't remember how we treated it. :(

I'm gonna have to email them. Donna, I paid with paypal too. I didnt want to but somehow it went to paypal.

Anyways, is this why I'm having problems getting the test? It still says I have 0 VCS's. <_<

Oh....heres my word of advice for the day.

Never fall for someone who's moving to another country!! :(

and yes...I knew all this but I'm blaming it on all the toxicity...I wasnt able to think clearly....or make smart decisions.

Yeah, the credit card payment went through paypal. I emailed them and said that nothing showed up, and about an hour or two later I got a response that said paypal could be slow and that I should log on and see if it was available then. It was.

This is fantastic!! Very encouraging.

dlp252 Apprentice

OKay, here are the scores for the VCS test:

April: 99.62%

Paula: 99.99%

Donna: 99.99997%

Hope you hear back about the hair test results.

Hope you're feeling better today. :)

The site is Open Original Shared Link. Hope that helps. :)

I checked, it's $55 for the strips and "only" $32 for shipping...but I think shipping is different depending on where you live.

Sorry, Rachel. It will be hard for you. Be sure your doctors know .... it was a very similar situation that made my Lyme active for the first time .... I fell for a guy when I was an exchange student .... never did get over it, but obviously moved on.

Hi everyone

I don't have any updates as I am still talking back and forth with my Dr, not sure what my plans are or what I am doing next.

Does whey protein have any toxic binder type qualities? Or is it at all detoxifying in any way? Just curious since I have been using it I seem to be peeing a lot more.

I'm also having a terrible time finding fish that isn't farm raised, a few fishes, chicken, eggs, and whey are my only safe protein sources. What's up with all the farm raised fish?!!

CarlaB Enthusiast

Julie, whey protein is a glutathione precursor, so yes, it has detox qualities. I use it daily. It goes along well with coffee enemas which stimulate the liver to produce more glutathione. :)

Thanks Carla for the info, I figured there had to be something to it.

How are you doing? How have you been feeling?

Carla,

Yeah...I remember you mentioning something like this...or at least "hinting" that something like that had happened in your life.

I'll be ok.....I dont think it'll have a dramatic impact on my health or anything. Its not like going through a break-up or losing someone completely. I'll be fine. :)

It'll just be "different"....and my phone wont be stuck to my ear for hours everyday. I'll have to keep myself busy with other stuff. :P

I havent cried or anything like that.

You know whats weird??

Before I got sick I very rarely cried....I was like a rock or something.

Once I got sick I was crying everyday...over every freakin little thing. I was just a total emotional wreck. It made it hard to move on from my break-up because I just couldnt cope with *anything*. I was soooo weak....and I hated that!

Now I dont cry anymore.....its like I'm a rock again!! I just dont ever cry.....even if I think I should be crying. I joke that I'm like Cameron Diaz in "The Holiday". I'm just "stuck" or something.

So yeah....I'm not exactly sitting at home crying but I am sad....if that makes any sense.

Yup...like Carla said whey protein increases detoxification. Its used to improve detox but its not really a binder.

Do you have a Whole Foods in your area? They usually have some fish which arent farm raised.

Rachel, yeah my Whole Foods is the one that is carrying the farm raised version of what I am looking for! Crazy!

I love that movie The Holiday btw :D

I think that speaks to the emotional component of illness, which is ignored by mainstream medicine. My Dr and all of the alternative people I have gone to, treat the emotions just as much as anything else physiologically (as I am sure yours have as well).

It's just all wrapped up and intertwined together.

Probably when you were your sickest, emotional memories and imprints were all out of whack and coming to the surface along with your symptoms, now that you are stronger physically they are probably more in balance is my guess?

confusedks Enthusiast

Rachel,

I can relate to the not being able to cry.

I've been going through LOTS of stuff...just stuff. Some of it is yucky and some of it is great, but I have been SO unemotional about it all. I can't cry...most people have the opposite problem! LOL! My mom, if you LOOK at her in a "strange" way she cries.

It's like I'm in shock and can't feel anything. Like when someone gets in a car accident and at first doesn't have much/any pain, but once the shock wears off they have TONS of pain.

I'm afraid of what will happen when I get to the other side of all this chronic illness. Like, once the shock wears off.

RE: "I seem to react to gluten-free breads and cakes the same way I react to regular bread (gas and bloating)" - I saw an allergist when I first started really looking into the cause of my problems. She told me that consuming grains, in general, make a person feel gassy. I have to say, I feel much better when I don't eat them, whether they are gluten-free or not.

CarlaB Enthusiast
How are you doing? How have you been feeling?

I'm doing okay. I finally pulled out of my herx I was in for a while. It seems that the PA was right ... I was declining, once I started the new meds, I herxed hard, now I'm doing much better.

I'll be ok.....I dont think it'll have a dramatic impact on my health or anything. Its not like going through a break-up or losing someone completely. I'll be fine. :)

You are reliving my past. :( I was "strong" when it happened.

What you and Kassandra are describing is what I used to do ... it was like a defense mechanism for me. I was always strong. I don't really think that it's a good thing. I ended up with a lot of emotional baggage to deal with later.

I've corresponded with Nurse A. a couple times about ART. She has a video and says you can do it at home. I thought there was some kind of machine ..... can any of you who have done ART shed some light on this for me? Thanks.

Rachel--24 Collaborator
Rachel, yeah my Whole Foods is the one that is carrying the farm raised version of what I am looking for! Crazy!

Well OK then....I guess that didnt help much did it!

I love that movie The Holiday btw :D

OMG....its totally my FAVORITE since it first came out. I saw it twice in the theater and now I own it. :D

I saw it with my ex when it first came out around Xmas time. Remember at the very beginning when Iris is kind of lovesick and well....kinda pathetic (to be more blunt)?? Well right at that moment when she was "surprised" at the party and there were tears in her eyes... I looked at my ex and I said "That is soooo me right now". I was totally disgusted with myself for being so weak!!

I was never weak like that in my entire life and because of this stupid illness I couldnt really "snap out of it"....and I was really frusterated with the whole thing. I didnt want to be that person anymore.....I guess I wanted to be a rock again. :P

So after that movie I started getting stronger cuz thats about the time I was doing alot of treatments and such. Anyways....I didnt talk to my ex for 6 months after that (which was like a miracle to everyone around me)...and once I did I was ALOT stronger. There's no more "weepy" days and I dont feel pathetic anymore. YAY! :D

I'm not sure exactly whats changed but I think its mainly because I feel less toxic. The last time I cried was when my mom shampoo'd her carpets last summer and I got a really bad reaction from the chemicals. I couldnt stop crying and I got extremely depressed. I also get really angry....I start snapping really easily.

Before I figured out my diet and started any treatments I was pretty much like that everyday. I didnt know how to control it. I cant let myself get too toxic or I'll start feeling that way again.

I think its the only reason I'm handling things so well right now. I'm not a total wreck anymore. :)

Rachel--24 Collaborator

Theres no machine. You can have someone who's trained test you but I dont think its a good idea to try to test yourself. I've only been tested when theres 3 people involved. I'm the testee...Scott and Dr. Amy are doing the testing. The first time it was Scott and his friend who tested me.

Scott knows ART...he's gotten very good at it...but he doesnt test himself. At my last appt. he wanted to be tested for something and I assisted Dr. Amy in testing him.

I dont know anything about doing ART on yourself at home. You can ask G. or Scott about it.

Asyra is a machine but thats seperate from ART.

dlp252 Apprentice

I'm the opposite, lol. I USED to be emotional, and now I feel emotionally dead! About the only "emotion" I feel is anger, lol, and THAT's mostly when driving.

Well, you're reliving MY past too then. I fell in love when I was 18...it was as close to the real thing as I know...never loved anyone like that again. He moved out of state. He called once after that, but in a strange twist of fate, I was strong and told him he made his choice. What he didn't know is that I spent HOURS in my room crying.

What you and Kassandra are describing is what I used to do ... it was like a defense mechanism for me. I was always strong. I don't really think that it's a good thing. I ended up with a lot of emotional baggage to deal with later.

I think it is a defense mechanism for me these days! Too many people left, too many people hurt me. Yeah, I got me some baggage.

I've corresponded with Nurse A. a couple times about ART. She has a video and says you can do it at home. I thought there was some kind of machine ..... can any of you who have done ART shed some light on this for me? Thanks.

Well, my only experience is with Scott. They use a little "computer" thing. They put whatever they are testing on the computer thingy, then they test your muscle strength against that. They can put combinations of things on there, or single things, etc.

She carries one of the two primary genes that indicate the potential to develop celiac disease. About 40% of the general population carries one or both of these genes but only about 1% of the general population develops celiac disease. So, the gene test cannot be used to diagnose celiac disease but it can be used as a rule out measure. Having either one of the genes provides the potential for developing celiac disease with the HLADQ2, in my understanding, providing the strongest potential of the two while having both genes provides an even stronger potential. What meds did the physician put her on for the ulcers?
    • kim-d
Thanks, @trents. That was what I was thinking of as well, but I'm a huge worrier and keep doubting if it was right thing to do so it seemed better to ask more experienced people. My diet won't be 100% gluten free unfortunately, but I'm thinking of using it as an opportunity to keep a food log and try to see what makes things worse.
    • jjiillee
Her Dr gave her meds for the ulcers and recommend the genetic blood test to rule out celiac. Got those results and the hla-dq2 is positive the hla-dq8 is negative. So I’m not sure what this all means. Waiting to hear from the Dr again. She has been eating gluten and did say she got bad stomach pain again the other day but it hasn’t happened in a few weeks so I’m not sure if it’s from gluten or the ulcers.
    • Soleihey
I have been on supplementation for almost 11 months with no deficiencies showing up on blood work. So was just hoping to hear someone else’s story where it took longer to heal.

Here’s the answer from the company 😊   Hi Emily,    Thank you for reaching out to us! We can confirm the Organic Protein + 50 Superfoods Powder is gluten free. The organic barley and wheatgrasses we use are harvested prior to jointing, before the grain forms and any gluten protein is present. Rest assured appropriate measures are taken to ensure our gluten free products comply with the FDA final rule to be labeled as gluten free, as claimed on the side-panel label. Our suppliers are required to verify each ingredient and in order to ensure that our gluten free products comply with the FDA requirements, our manufacturing facilities use the ELISA test method to confirm gluten levels are less than the standard limit of <20 ppm.    If you have allergy concerns about consuming the grasses, we recommend consulting further with your healthcare provider. I hope this information helps! Please let us know if you have other questions.
