I didn't care about the characters or what happened to them.

Well that cant be good!

Luckily, I'm not into the Batman movies...I would have passed this one up anyways. Thanks for the heads up though. Not caring about what happens to the characters = this movie sucks.

I know Kassandra goes to someone..where is she?

Kassandra's here in CA...I'm in northern cal.....shes in southern cal. She hasnt had ART....he did have muscle testing though.

Even if you cant find an ART practitioner....maybe there is someone else who is experienced with traditional muscle testing in your area??

I'm talking for Kassandra since she's avoiding EFT's right now. ;)

as a part time thing, I write a movie recommendation article for a local paper, so I watch up to 10 movies a week

Cool! YOu can keep us up to date on the really good movies :P I love to watch movies.

I have not had any interest in the batman movie - the last one was dark, too.

Yeah I'm not really into them either. Although I did like the first one.

I didn't like the last one. Not the new one, but the last one prior to this one.

But I am a real Star Wars freak. I'll watch anything Star Wars. I don't care if it's good or not. And I will go see Attack of the Clones. :D

I know I'm a nerd.

I am a nerd too. Do you like scifi? If you do, I have a bunch of scifi recommendations! I like almost all scifi's but some really good ones that not a lot of people have seen are Code 46, Sunshine, Gattaca and Serenity. Code 46 is a little out there, but I loved it.

I had my appt. with Dr. P....I totally like him so far!! :D

It went really well. Yay!

I was kind of having some anxiety all day since I really didnt know how much he knew about the "metabolic" stuff. I just knew that he's treating autism, Lyme, metals and he does some muscle testing....thats pretty much it. I guess I was just worried he wouldnt know where to begin with me.

Right off the bat he said that in going over all of Dr. S.'s notes and all of my labwork (he had my file) he can see that I have a methylation problem. Methylation/sulfation is impaired.

He pulled out my OAT results and showed me the "toxic indicator" of low pyroglutamic (glutathione deficiency) and the high methylmalonic (defective absorption or transport of B12) and said that it indicates that the methylation/transulfation cycle is blocked.

I've had enough testing done that we dont have to rule out a bunch of things. He said he has enough info. already and with one other test he can have a really good picture as far as looking at the methylation cycle.

He wants me to do a urine amino acid analysis. We went over a diagram of methylation/transulfation (Anna went over this with me before too) and he explained what he expects to find in the results of the amino acid test. He wants to look at methionine, homocysteine, cystathionine, cysteine, taurine, gluathione, etc.....all things related to the pathway.

He's thinking cysteine will be elevated....which means too much sulfur.

Basically, everything he was saying is what I had already figured to be a problem.....but he knows how to fix it and I dont! :)

Since I'm not tolerating glutathione that tells him what problems are most likely occuring. He said I wouldnt be tolerating glutathione, taurine or cysteine....and thats definately true.

We also went over everything that happened to me....all the normal questions from when symptoms began until now. He did a physical exam as well. He pressed on my stomach and asked if it was sore.....it definately is today. He said my intestines are tender from all of the food intolerances.

We talked about mercury. He said I got some exposure when I had the tetanus and hepatitus vaccines a couple years before I got sick...then with the amalgam removals because of no safety protocol. I told him after 6 months of chelation nothing changed. He took out the Doctors Data reports and said there is NOTHING coming out.

Yeah...pretty much. The stuff is either locked up or it aint there. I told him thats why we stopped the DMPS...because it wasnt working...nothing was coming out.

He knows of both Amy and Anna so it was easy to talk about everything I've done...what we find in ART....what things Anna desentitized, etc.

I told him Amy said that since all of this came on SO fast and hit SO hard that she feels its a metals issue. He said he completely agrees with her on that. He said I was probably "teetering" on the edge already and the mercury exposure pushed me over. Every Dr. I've seen has said that same thing.

I told him mercury is the main thing that has shown up in every ART session. We talked about phenols and all that....he said its because I cant detox...and the oxalates are tied in with the yeast.

He said the main components we're looking at are metals, Lyme and virus. He said he can open up the pathway BUT...if there is a lyme component...or a viral component....they will continue to lock up the metals.

He does feel that this is a mercury issue and the reason my doctors data results remained so low is because it is completely locked up...because the pathway is totally blocked.

He said he doesnt like the lab I used for my porphyrin test....he only uses the lab in France. I know its the better of the two....but the kit I got was for Metametrix....so thats the one I did. I didnt think they were using the lab in France at all. I got the metametrix kit right there in the same office. :(

Anyways, regardless of what showed up in the tests (very little mercury) he's saying thats the problem. Since its showed up in EVERY test as being the major stressor....I guess I gotta believe him. Its also my gut insticnt all this time....which is why I was so crushed when my porphyrin test was negative and I had to stop the DMPS.

He said no chelator is gonna pull these metals out right now. As long as the methylation cycle is blocked they are locked in.

We talked about Lyme alot. He wants me to repeat the CD57 and if the count has gone down he'll be concerned...if its gone up he said we can breathe a little easier. Also, he's sending me to another "voo-doo" lady. :D

I'm not sure what type of EAV she does but he said she's the best he's found in 15 years...so thats who he sends his patients to.

I gotta go for a one hour computer screening. He said she can test everything and come back with results that are very accurate. He wants to know about the Lyme and viral components as well as the metals. Those are the main things...but she will test me for alot of other things as well.

He really doesnt think that Lyme is an issue based on all of the info. we have....plus the main thing was that I dont have fatigue. He said thats the main reason he doesnt feel its an issue....because fatigue is one of the primary symptoms and I have lots of energy. Also, no monthly flare-ups or "die-off" from the antimicrobials.. All of my symptoms are directly linked to foods and exposure to perfumes, chemicals, etc. Regardless....he still wants to be sure...so I have to see the new voodoo lady and also repeat my CD57.

I'm excited about having another voodoo lady. :)

He said we can desensitize anything but they wont hold if the underlying issues arent addressed. I know that from my past experience.....it doesnt work. He said he only wants her to desensitize certain supplements which I'll need in order to open the pathway. He can open it up with the supplements at certain dosages and in a specific order. But we need to know about lyme and viruses first.

He said since I've already done so much with Anna...I'll probably only need to see her a couple times. Once the pathway is open and the metals start moving usually people will become re-sensitized to the supplements....I may or may not need to repeat the treatment. He said most of the time even if people become resensitized at that point its usually ok...because the metals are actually moving out.

I'm totally clean for viruses in ART and BioSET....with Dr. M. I tested for parvo and coxsackie. Labwork had high IgG for HHV-6.

I wanted to know how they can be certain that HHV-6 is not an active infection. He said its probably not active but the test is incomplete because there was no IgM. He wanted to retest it...to check the IgM. Since I dont really have any viral indicators he wants to wait until the voodoo lady tests me. If it shows up we'll do the labwork...if not we wont worry about it.

I liked that he was thinking of cost and not running tests that we may not need. The other one was CDSA.....I told him that Amy had wanted it but I havent done it yet. He said its a waste of money because they never find anything. They never find the parasite (and other bugs) and they just dont get enough info. to really tell us much. He said he's totally stopped using the CDSA....and its an expensive test. I had one over 3 years ago...it only told me that I have dysbiosis. No parasites or other pathogens were found.

He asked about my tolerance for cold. Ugh!! We all know the answer to that!! I hate, hate, hate it!!!

I havent had labwork for my thyroid in a really long time so he ordered that. He thinks my thyroid is probably low. I told him I get especially cold (chills) after eating sometimes....and also when the toxicity builds up. He said thats all related to the food intolerances.

Things will be much easier if I dont have Lyme or viral's to worry about....so I'm praying for those to be non-issues.

I guess the voodoo lady's test comes back with numbers....he said for example... if Lyme comes back as a 0 or a 1+ we wont worry about it.....but if its like a 10+ we'll definately be needing to address it.

He mentioned antibiotics.

But in the same sentence he also said "or herbals". :)

He seemed surprised that no major chronic infections are showing up in ART or anything else. I asked him if its possible theres no active lyme or viruses and yet all of this occured. He said yes....definately the metals could have done it. It wouldnt happen like that to everyone having fillings removed unsafely....but some people are more susceptible.

He said the enzymes involved in the pathway are sometimes functioning at less than 100%....genetic weakness. We're all different so some people may be functioning at 50% or so....and then the mercury just totally inhibits the enzymes. That blocks the pathway and the metals are locked in.

He explained it much more "scientifically"....but I think thats pretty much what he was saying.

I guess those are the highlights of the visit. I feel really good about everything right now and I'm hoping I can start making some gains with his help. If he can open up the pathway and start moving the metals out...maybe I'll make it to Germany without having to worry about what I'm gonna eat and drink. :)

One of the first things he said after he introduced himself was "What can I do for you?" I said "Um...hopefully you can get me better!". :)

I told him I've done alot already and I've made alot of improvement....but the underlying issues are still very much there...I'm just "managing" everything with strict avoidance. I work 40 hours and appear normal to everyone...but I cant really go anywhere because of the food/chemical issues.

Hopefully, we can get the ball rolling and start moving the metals out. :)

I think its been awhile since I've had a super-sized post. Just imagine if I was using 2 hands!! :P

And another Voodoo lady?!?!? Is she in the Bay area as well?

Lisa,

I love Star Wars, too. Especially the original ones.

Rachel,

That sounds like a very productive appointment. Aren't you glad you got a second opinion with a fresh outlook?

I take a lot of those supplements for the liver pathways. I am glad that I didn't get as "locked up" as you did or I would be in the same boat.

Nanjkay,

Maybe Naet would be helpful in desensitizing the reaction to the thyroid medication.

A lot of times I feel worse if I eat too......just tired, low energy for me. Mostly if I don't have protein with my meal, which I don't always. Also if I just eat fruit it can bother me. Some more than others.

I can't wait to be telling you all about the fun stuff I will be doing...SOON! :):D

I went to the gyno today and of course my pain was gone! LOL! She said if I had gone in yesterday she would have given me a shot of a narcotic to help...since nothing was helping.

Her concern is that my period won't stop. It is SO heavy, I am interested in seeing what my hemoglobin is next Monday. She talked about giving me the birth control pills for 3 months in a row, to give my body a break. It might be totally necessary if my hemoglobin and ferritin, etc. continue to drop.

She said that because I was coming off of high doses of hormones, my uterus was working really hard to stop the bleeding (which it's not doing very well, lol) so I was feeling it trying to cramp and close! ;)

On a side note, I'm really excited about these NAET treatments I'm having done. I am feeling better...having about a decent day at least once a week. She told me to slow down and NOT go overboard on the decent days because I have no "reserve" and it will be self defeating.

But it's amazing to have days where I don't feel like I'm dying. :) I don't feel great, but definitely some improvement. :D

Just wanted to report some happy stuff along with all the other crazy stuff that's going on for me.

Rachel, I'm SO excited for you about this Dr. I am glad to have another Dr who is on my team and even better, she works really closely with Dr H. :P

Nancy, If you want my LLMD's name, I can PM it to you. Let me know through PM. I'm in Southern CA, but my LLMD is in Northern CA.

Rachel, your appointment sounds excellent, seems like a confirmation of a lot of things.

I'm thinking my mercury has been locked up too but I don't think I am fully blocked because I am handling taurine, MSM, and now GSH. I am hopeful with all the changes last winter and this summer, that now the chelation will work better.

Everyone, I am starting to feel like a pincushion I am taking so many shots. Lets see, its up to 13 a week I think. I know that sounds awful, but I asked for it because I want to bypass my gut as much as possible and get some good stuff in. Plus it is so much easier to take a couple of vials versus 8-9 bottles of pills in my suitcase! Some of them I can take weekly but I have been splitting the dose and taking them twice a week to try to get more even levels.

Speaking of pins (and needles) LOL, I have been sewing like crazy...made a dress for one of my daughter's bridesmaids...to see if my daughter likes it for the wedding. She hasn't seen it yet, but I think it looks great.

This doctor sounds amazing by the way. It sounds like you found exactly what you needed to find in this doctor. He seems so specialized in the exact areas you need. What kind of doctor is he?

He's a MD....also a LLMD. There are 4 doctors in the practice.....they're all LLMD's but this one is also a DAN! doctor.....which is why I wanted to see him.

DAN! = Defeat Autism Now!

The reason I went to him is because I was *hoping* that he would be knowledgeable in these exact areas. Its mainly the ones who are treating Autism who have the most knowledge/experience with the metabolic pathways. A DAN! doctor would have some knowledge.

All along I've found answers by researching Autism. Most of the tests I'm having done are the ones that they are using to diagnose the issues in autism (like OAT). I needed someone who understands the tests.....knows how to interpret them and most importantly...someone who knows how to treat these metabolic issues. I wanted someone who's treating Autism....one of the major issues in Autism is impaired or blocked metabolic pathways.....methylation and sulfation.

Its not really a coincidence that he knows about all the stuff going on with me.....I wouldnt have chose him if it werent for the fact that he's treaing autism and he's a DAN! doctor. Its not helpful for me to see a LLMD who is primarily focusing on Lyme....because thats not my big issue...but I do want a lyme literate doctor for sure.

We'll see how things progress. I'm happy to have a new Dr. on my team. :)

When he figures out how to fix the problem, will you let us know?!!! I share many of the same, so I am very curious.

Of course, I've been sharing everything from the start of this journey....and I'll continue to do so....that wasnt the last super-sized post you'll see from me. :P

Oh...about the one-fingered typing. I think I type just as fast as you guys...AND I still have a free hand! :P

It does take me a long time to post....its not a typing issue though. I tend to get sidetracked easily...I havent quite mastered talking on the phone and posting simultaniously. B)

Rachel--24 Collaborator

I forgot to mention that he wanted to do an iodine test. Anyone familiar with that??

Its on hold for now because he said it involves taking an iodine tablet....and he doesnt know how I'll handle that right now.

He's also not trying any supplements with me yet. He said he's afraid to give me anything yet because he's not sure that I can tolerate anything at this point.

He also considered testing for autoimmune markers...but he dismissed it for now since I had alot of these tests a few years back with my HMO...and nothing came up.

I understand your frustration about socializing while having celiac disease. I also have allergies to nuts, dairy, all forms of gluten including oats, strawberries and MSG. I get anxiety while grocery shopping and really take my time to read all labels. I always carry a magnifying glass with me wherever I go to read labels. Many products are labelled Gluten Free but contain Oats, and apparently this is becoming more common. I almost bought some gluten free flour but read that it contained oats. A certain percentage of Celiacs have this complication. I can’t help feeling offended and excluded when others act like I am being “high maintenance”. I am becoming better at being an advocate for myself.  I have had diverticulitis 3 times and each time hospitalized-once, the attending nurse didn’t know what celiac means-she had to research...  If others around me make comments I try to enlighten them, those who don’t get it are not my friends anymore. Be very careful about cross-contamination. I was sick recently for 10 days after a meal was contaminated while I was on holiday. If servers say they have gluten free buns or bread, ask if they use a toaster specifically reserved for gluten-free, or don’t chance it. On a positive note, I didn’t find out I had Celiac Disease until I was 60. Eating a gluten free diet means no more terrible headaches, hives, rashes, intestinal bloating and irregularity, Gastro Intestinal Reflux….when I follow a strict diet and mostly always eat at home, I feel great! I also weeded out “friends” who weren’t worth being around.

Thank you, Trents- are there any safe alternatives?
    • Scott Adams
I agree with @trents, it's not typical for gluten exposure to cause symptoms as delayed as a week or two after ingestion. In most cases, reactions to gluten occur within hours to a few days, depending on individual sensitivity and how much gluten was consumed. The delayed symptoms you describe—stomach cramping in the mornings and flaky stool—might suggest that something else is contributing to your discomfort. Cross-contamination is a common challenge, especially when dining out, and it's great that you're doing your best to stay gluten-free. However, the inconsistency of your symptoms and the long delay between exposure and reaction could warrant further investigation. It's possible that another gastrointestinal condition, such as IBS, a food intolerance, or a reaction to something else in your diet, might be contributing to your symptoms. You might consider keeping a detailed food and symptom diary to identify potential patterns or triggers. Additionally, consulting your gastroenterologist could provide clarity. They may suggest testing to rule out other issues, such as small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), microscopic colitis, or other sensitivities. If you suspect cross-contamination is a significant issue, you could also ask for follow-up bloodwork (e.g., tTG-IgA) to check if your antibodies are elevated, which might indicate ongoing gluten exposure.
