I think i have an mold magnet to my and my house lol. Yesterday my 8 yr old was like i dont like my comforter and sheets anymore, so he took everything off his and his brothers bed. Well i went int here and looked at his mattress and guess what i found. It is full of black mold. I was like is this why you dont like sleeping in your bed, he sleeps on the sofa most nights, and he said yes. I feel so bad I have been killing my son with the mold. Now it expalins why he gets so many sore throats and wakes up very moody, and is fine once he gets to school.

What should i give him to detox the mold that is safe for 8 yr olds?

Oh one more thing about mold. The other night our toilet overflowed and it seept into the ceiling. So now i have to get my ceiling replaced, cause all of the texture is peeling off, so im sure there is mold growing in there now to.

Too bad about that mold, Paula! I'll bet your son will naturally detox with that mattress gone (I hope it is gone, LOL)!

Maybe binders would help? Chlorella seems ok for kids, Andrea's kids have taken that I know.

Hubby is getting rid of the mattress as soon as he gets off work in a few minutes. I did not want to touch it. I locked it in the room it is in and no one has been by it lol.

Ok i ask andrea how much chlorella she gives her kids

Paula,

I am very concerned about all the mold you keep finding in your house. It has to be infested somewhere for it to even begin to get into the mattress. Have you checked behind your son's walls where his mattress sits? Have your hubby knock a hole in the wall and see if there is black mold back there.

Have you had your home inspected by a professional mold inspector? I don't want to sound totally freaky here, but the fact that mold keeps popping up in all kinds of wierd places is very wierd.

It would explain why you are up and down with your health, too.

Everytime mold is disturbed, the spores are released into the air. Be sure when you move that mattress out, you take you and all the kids outside and open all the windows. Turn OFF the a/c or heat to prevent the spores from traveling into the duct work. Use fans to move air up and out.

You could maybe try and spray a liquid orange oil onto the mold to kill the spores, but the dead spores are toxic too.

The mold inspector that came to my house said that bleach does not kill mold - it just turns it a different color.

Does your hubby have a moisture monitor? I don't think they are that much. I am wondering if you can get one and go through the whole house and see what the moisture levels are inside the walls.

April,

I know it is freaky. Even today i was talking to my parents and they are we need to find money asap to get you a new house. The sad thing is with the econmy so bad right now, its like how can i even sell my house, and im afraid to have 2 mortgages, and most of the houses in this town are old anyway.

We just moved the boys to the room we were in downstairs a couple of weeks ago. So maybe the mold spores are in the walls upstairs in the room we are in now.

From the look of the mattress, it looks like the mold has been growing for some time. Its like in the middle of the mattress from what i could tell yesterday.

I will go look up an moisture meter now and see if i can find one in this town. I dont care the price.

Would putting my two air purifiers in that room be a good idea or open all the windows, or both.

paula

who is really freaking out now.

Paula,

I'd be really freaking out too! We get the King Chlorella with Russian Immune Support by Nutricology. We get it online at vitapal I think it was. I need to order again in a month or so. I give my 6 and 9 year old 5 tabs. We were giving them at breakfast and dinner, but I've cut back to once a day to help curb costs. You'd want to do twice a day.

I don't know if the coco pulse test works for chlorella, but it does for foods. It's where you take the heartrate before eating a food and then 1/2 hour later (have to stay still and quiet during that time) and see if there is a difference.

My oldest ds didn't test well for Chlorella at first and we've just moved him to it, so I'm hoping that after a year he's ok with it now and that it will work for him.

confused Community Regular

Thanks andrea for that information. Im off to go buy the new mattress. Im starting to feel sick in the house and need to get for a bit. I will check health food store for chlorella to, if i cant find any that is safe here, i will order, i just dont want to wait a long time to start it.

Paula,

I know you want to start Chlorella right away, but both T and I did not do well with stuff we bought from the store. Just a heads up. King Chlorella isn't available at stores that I'm aware of.

Paula,

Is the downstairs in a "basement"?

Check the walls where the bed used to be and check the walls downstairs - when you get the moisture meter. I don't think it will be too costly for the meter. Under $100.

At least it might help locate where the moisture might be coming from. The mold has to have 2 things to live - moisture and a food source. Drywall is a great food source. That's why mold can live inside the walls for many many years before it actually is seen. In the meantime, all kinds of wierd health related issues are happening and no one can pin point the cause. In your case, you have had issues with mold before in the kitchen and boiler room right? So, if it was bad in there and the contractors did not do a good job trying to keep the mold from entering the air, then the spores could have spread to other places. But if you didn't have a moisture issue in those places, it probably couldn't survive long.

Anyway, I am worried about it and wish I could come over and check it out!

How awful with all that mold.

Here the main problems with mold come from bathrooms, because peop have put in showers and shower onto the tiled walls instead of using shower cabinets (glass or plastic showers wre you close the doors and the tiles do not get wet). Before, basements used to be wet, but now everyond has drained the ground water from outside.

Of curse, leaking roofs are terrible but that hardly happens any more.

In case of mold, the authorities forbid using the flat or house until that is totally fixed. They know people will get seriously ill from mold in the walls or ceilings etc.

You need a good hepa filter in the vacuum or the spores are just spread even further.

There is another thing that can kill mold, not just chlorine. Spores are even tougher than ordinary mold I think.

Now in the fall there are lots of mold spores in the air outside. It gets much better when the snow comes and stays.

Oldest daughter visited a friend in Irela, the land of mold. There were mold patches in every house they were in. Next-oldest daughter came along one time, and noticed. Everything smelled moldy. They did not heat the house inside much (= dangerous, because does not dry out) and all the clothes had to be washed several times when the came home, as everythign smelled moldy. The Irish the same year voted they were msot satisfied in Europe with how they lived. I guess they stayed most at pubs....daughter's friend and her father did for certain....did not heat the house, but sat at the pub to save money on heating at home.....(while the mold grew) Am I in a bad mood?

A quick update with new exciting development. :)

So I called the nurses yesterday to ask about the urine test. She said it should have cost $80 because I should have overnighted it.

They never told me that it had to be overnighted...just that it would cost $80 to ship it. I guess I should have known by the outrageous cost....so my bad for thinking that $80 was the "normal" shipping price.

Oh well....it should be ok....doesnt need to be refridgerated.....they just ask that patients overnight it to make the process go much quicker. She said its fine if I wanna wait that long to get results back. I really would have rather not waited this long but I didnt know any better. :(

Also, she said if I checked the box on the form which requests to get results back by email I will get the results sooner (before the Dr. gets them)....but of course I didnt check that box.

So those results wont be back for awhile....but the GOOD news is that I dont need to wait for them. :D

I got a call from the receptionist about an hour ago. She said Dr. P. wants me to schedule an hour appt. with him ASAP. I told her I already got that message last week but that I still havent seen the new doctor (but I'll see her tomorrow) and I just barely shipped my urine test off at the end of last week. Does he want to see me before this is all completed?

She put me on hold to ask him and came back to tell me that YES....he wants to see me regardless. He already has test results in that gave him enough information. He wants to get me started on treatment right now. :o

OMG...

The problem has to be in my methylation cycle....those are the only test results that have come in.

Unlike Lyme and all of the other possibilities.....this is what feels *right* to me. In my gut....I just feel that my pathway is blocked. I cant detox mercury (or anything really  ).

I dont know any details yet at all. I just know how I feel inside and I got kind of emotional after the phone call.....its the first time I've had that feeling.

I also dont know if there are other problems that we havent found yet......but I'm assuming that we are at a good starting point from the way that it sounded.

I dont know if he found something in the genetic testing...or the function of my pathway....or both. He's not in the rest of this week so I'm scheduled to see him next Wed.

I'll still be seeing the new Dr. tomorrow and she will send all results to him before my appt. next week.

My stomach is in knots....I'm scared, happy, excited, nervous and relieved all at once!!!

Paula,

I'm worried about this too. It just seems that you are dealing with constant exposure. I wonder how you would feel if you were away from your house for awhile??

I think the mold issue in your home might be much bigger than you had originally thought....or like April said....the spores were released and are contaminating other areas of the house now.

It would definately be a good idea to have this thoroughly checked out. If this is the problem its doing a number on your immune system, digestive system and other parts of your body as well.

Its not something you want to continue to have yourself exposed to. I hope that you can get this figured out and hopefully start to feel better soon. The fact that you do have some days where you feel really good is definately a good sign.

Rachel--24 Collaborator

Kassandra,

I couldnt be happier for you! You are making ALOT of progress in a short time. Its pretty amazing how much healing you've accomplished by dealing with that stuff.

I hope that very soon you will be off of the abx and doing everything you have been wanting to do. I've noticed how much the health stuff gets put on the backburner when I'm feeling really good....and all of a sudden normal "life" things take over.....its such a good feeling!

I'm really happy that you are able to focus on other things and are having fun. :)

Thanks everyone for sharing my happiness with me! :):P

So as some people know I have been trying to gain weight because I lost quite a bit after my GB surgery and was too thin even before that...the weight loss post op was very rapid. I am up to 2,000 calories a day and STILL losing weight!!!! I lost almost 2 more pounds...I guess I'm so active that I'm burning a lot more calories! :o

You should see my breakfast...it's 12 mini van's waffles, 3T almond butter, 1 banana AND 4 sausages!!! It has become comical the amount of food I have to eat!!! My mom laughs at me when we eat together. :P

mftnchn Explorer

Kassandra, the only thing I can think of is that maybe you had inflammation do to the GB problems. The other thing is maybe not digesting fat well? Did they give you extra enzymes and stuff to help with that? Or maybe a bile type

supplement?

Still, am glad you are feeling better. Maybe the weight will start to turn around soon.

Rachel--24 Collaborator

The 22nd is finally here!!!

I think whatever info. she can provide today will be helpful but already having something in the bloodwork is a huge thing......so it doesnt seem like this appt is as crucial as it seemed before. The main thing he was wanting to know is what is causing me not to detox...Lyme, methylation or virus?

I think we will still want to know what she says about these infections....especially virus....but actually seeing something wrong with the methylation cycle is pretty significant I think.

I'm also going to get together with S. for ART in November (after Germany)....so I'm looking forward to that as well. Hopefully he will be all better. :)

He told me that he saw Dr. P. at a conference this past weekend and methylation was a big topic that was discussed. It would be nice to have gone to that but I'm guessing it probably wasnt local anyway. Hopefully soon I'll be able to travel and maybe I'll get to attend some of these things.

Its really exciting that you are improving, Carla. Do you understand any more what the photons are doing to the cells? You mentioned to help them recognize the lyme. How does that work I wonder?

Sherry

The infrared clothing theory is that the water molecules are lumped together and they should not, and the infrared waves or frequency (both things apply, waves always have a frequency) cause them to finally get un-stuck and that energy then bumps into the next molecule and that gets unstuck and so on. The body is able to detox and work better (with the unstuck water molecules)

Open Original Shared Link

I think the bionic theory is something along that way too, you add the energy at some points and it causes a cascade of some kind and the cells on the way that need the energy take as much as they need.

Like electricity does not flow through an electrical wire, but electrons just move on one atom at a time and it is not the same electron that comes out the other way, they just bump into each other kinda.

I was thinking of another thing: Healing with light is not new. They used to heal thousands or millions of patients from tuberculosis with guess what: sunlight. Probably wasnot just vitamin D alone.

What was the test that he ordered to test your methylation cycle? I might look into doing that. Especially since BCBS might be covering more Great Plains labs. Wasn't that where your ordered from?

I agree with Sherry, could still be maldigestion. Can you try some pineapple with your meals? Pineapple, I think, helps digest proteins.

Also, Dr. Mercola recommends bile salts for anyone that has had their gallbladders removed. That could have been why you didn't digest fats well before, but without the bile from the gallbladder, you still might not be digesting fats well.

Paula,

It's scary and stressful when our home don't feel safe. I know how that feels and I haven't had the amount of problems you have had. Plus the toxins themselves can play a number on your wellbeing!

I hope you can get a professional in there to find out what's going on....

Interesting you mention MCAS. I have come across mcas before but I wasn’t entirely sure if that’s what it was. When I eat certain food like dairy or soy my face gets so hot and I feel flush and my heart rate shoot’s up. And sometimes my bottom lip swells or I get hives somewhere. This started happening after I had a really bad case of Covid.  Before that I was able to eat all those things (minus gluten) I was diagnosed with celiac way before I had Covid.  Hmm, not sure really. I may look for a different allergist my current one told me to take Zyrtec and gave me an epi pen.
    • Kiwifruit
This is all really useful information, thank you so much to you both.    I have a history of B12 and vit D deficiency which has always just been treated and then ignored until it’s now again.
    • trents
Welcome to the forum, @Gill.brittany8! There are two main genes that have been identified as creating potential for developing celiac disease, HLDQ2 and HLDQ8. Your daughter has one of them. So, she possesses genetic the potential to develop celiac disease. About 40% of the general population carries one or both of these genes but only about 1% of the general population develops celiac disease. It takes both the genetic potential and some kind of triggering stress factor (e.g., a viral infection or another prolonged health problem or an environmental factor) to "turn on" the gene or genes. Unfortunately, your daughter's doctor ordered a very minimal celiac antibody panel, the tTG-IGA and total IGA. Total IGA is not even a test per celiac disease per se but is a check for IGA deficiency. If the person being checked for celiac disease is IGA deficient, then the scores for individual IGA tests (such as the tTG-IGA) will be abnormally low and false negatives can often be the result. However, your daughter's total IGA score shows she is not IGA deficient. You should consider asking our physician for a more complete celiac panel including DGP-IGA, TTG_IGG and DGP-IGG. If she had been avoiding gluten that can also create false negative test results as valid antibody testing requires having been consuming generous amounts of gluten for weeks leading up to the blood draw. Do you know if the GI doc who did the upper GI took biopsies of the duodenum and the duodenum bulb to check for the damage to the small bowel lining caused by celiac disease? Having said all that, her standard blood work shows evidence of possible celiac disease because of an elevated liver enzyme (Alkaline Phosphatase) and low values for hemoglobin.
    • Gill.brittany8
Hi everyone  After years of stomach issues being ignored by doctors, my 9 y/o daughter finally had an upper endoscopy which showed a ton of stomach inflammation. The GI doctor ordered some bloodwork and I’m attaching the results here. Part will be from the CBC and the other is celiac specific. I’m not sure what’s relevant so I’m just including extra information just in case.   The results are confusing because they say “No serological evidence of celiac disease. tTG IgA may normalize in individuals with celiac disease who maintain a gluten-free diet. Consider HLA DQ2 and DQ8 testing to rule out celiac disease.” But just a few lines down, it says DQ2 positive. Can someone help make sense of this? Thanks so much.  result images here: https://ibb.co/WFkF0fm https://ibb.co/kHvX7pC https://ibb.co/crhYp2h https://ibb.co/fGYFygQ

Those are great points and some follow up thoughts and ideas. I think you're both stating the same thing in two different ways, but I appreciate the "accuracy" of what you're getting to.   1. Are you both stating that the "too salty of a taste" could be triggered by a histamine reaction, and the flavor is coming from the electrolytes? If that is the case, wouldn't the individuals mouth always be salty during a "Glutening" situation, or are we saying that the person could get "use to the flavor" until introducing food or beverage and that could be enough to "stir the pot" and notice the salty flavor? 2. To push back on "#1": If that were true anyone with issues of histamine releasing foods/treatments would experience the same thing. Also, I did not experience a situation where most beverages were "too salty". Thoughts?
