Sherry,

I'm sorry to hear you got sick, although not too terribly surprised due to all that's going on over at your place.

I don't know of any suggestions about the Zith and Enula, aside from what ART said. :(

I did much better today with the nausea...I took the Enula away from everythng else; usually take it with the gemmobase and then eat not long afterward.

Wow, Sherry, what a mess! That's a lot to go through especially with hubby out of town.

Just wanted to say hi to everyone. I'm doing fine. I have a cold, but am doing pretty well considering.

My kids and hubby are treating with the photons. Hubby had nothing .... except he feels like he has more energy. Three of the kids have used it and they all had symptoms flare up at varying levels. The youngest started first .... she knows how to program it, etc, so she does it all on her own ... she seems to have more energy ... she was always mopey, you could tell something was wrong. If the photons didn't work, I was going to make her an appt with my LLMD, but they seem to be working for her. :)

I have tried going back at the beginning and reading all of this groups posts but there are over 2000 of them.

Welcome! I'm glad it's been a help for you. I don't blame you for not wanting to read over 2000 pages of posts!!!

Good news about the photon treatments for the family Carla.

Rachael - Do you have a book you can point me to regarding this info? I have tried going back at the beginning and reading all of this groups posts but there are over 2000 of them. This methylation Cycle thing sounds like the key to help me figure out my frustrating health mysteries.

THank you all very much for your insightful posts. I just lurk and cant tell you how much you have helped me (and my kids!).

Hi mltjq and welcome! :)

I have alot of links that have been helpful to me as well as the DVD's and Yasko's book "Genetic Bypass". I tried to post the info. to the sources where I have gained the most knowledge about genetics/methylation......unfortunately the board went down for a period of time and the post was lost. I hate when that happens!

I will repost it later on today after work.

I'm glad that our posts have been helpful to you. :)

Definately dont attempt to read through all of the posts (you'd be going back almost 3 years!).....just jump right in whenever you want.....we're always here. :)

Ditto! Carla, sounds like the photons will be a good thing for the kids. :)

My friend is going back to Germany today. :(

I said my goodbye's this morning.....and no tears this time! :D

I really gotta work hard at reducing the food sensitivities so that I can make the trip next year!!

We just had a mini-crisis here at my mom's. I got home just as it started sprinkling...I was wondering why 2 firetrucks were parked out front.....then I was wondering why it was STILL sprinkling when I got INSIDE the house!

Apparantly there was a leak in one of the condo's which happens to be vacant right now....major water damage to the neighbor below that condo...and somehow the water traveled over to my mom's. So now I'm kinda freaking out about mold.

The damage isnt too bad here...we just have leakage in the living room. The fireman said we gotta stay out of that room because the sheetrock may come down depending on how much water is up there. They poked a hole in the ceiling and it doesnt seem like its too bad....they shut the water off before we got totally flooded.

Of course I'm only home for lunch so I had to make sure I got my "brownie fix". The fireman said "You're doing the right thing.....take care of the brownies first...SAVE the brownies!!:lol:

Yeah.....he has no IDEA how important those brownies really are! :P

Wow, Rachel, I don't blame you for worrying about mold!!! Yikes. Glad the brownies were okay. Sorry about the friend leaving. :(

Hopefully, soon, you will be able to go to Germany. :D

Good news about the photon treatments for the family Carla.

It is good news. I'm SO happy to be able to be using something natural. All those pharmaceuticals totally went against my grain .... I've been into natural and homeopathics for years .... got a reputation amongst family and friends as the health wacko. But, I saw no other way out when I got so sick.

Today is my regular monthly flare up. I'm not bad at all. I can feel a little extra fatigue and heaviness (if that makes sense), but no pain meds are needed as it doesn't really hurt. I would blame it all on the cold, but the cold was worse yesterday and I felt better. I don't have the overwhelming fatigue and disconnect that I felt before .... I didn't just lie around all day like I used to.

BTW, Select Comfort picked up my bed today. Looks like I'll be getting a credit. Wooohooo!

AndreaB Contributor

Wow Rachel! I'd be concerned too. Hopefully the damage near/around your mom's condo won't be bad.

Just seeing the word mold freaks me out lol. I hope they can fix it soon before mold decides to start growing and growing.

I thought you could no longer have brownies or did u find some that u can eat again.

Everyone,

I have been busy reasearching thyroid problems the last few days. My nd says she thinks its hyperthyroid, but some on this board think it is hypoptiuturism and it is freaking me out. I really dont have signs of hypopiturism tho, so im not sure. I finally orderd all of my supplements yesterday and 500 bucks later i think i got them all. I cant wait to start them all and start to feel better.

Open Original Shared Link I don't know, Rachel might have posted this already.

Here's some good info I picked up on the use of epsom salts. It shows how you can make your own creams.

Sorry about all that junk going on Rachel. Your mom's condo, your FRIEND ;) leaving and stuff. Well they say bad things happen in three's. At least your brownies were rescued. Which brownies are those? Do you make them or are they pre made?

Where have the J's been? Julie and Jin?

My mom came home today from work. She has been sick for awhile. I am starting to get a little worried. She had a mild stroke a few months ago. She caught a bug last week and this week she feels nauseaded. Last week was just sinus stuff like sore throat, cough and stuff runny nose.

Hope she is okay for Thanksgiving next week. I don't want her to feel bad or anyone for that matter on the holiday's.

I have a christmas concert here in the valley that I am singing in in a few weeks. Anyone want to come? :)

Thanks Carla. :)

I have alot of support so it keeps me from getting too frusterated and the people around me dont really allow me to get overly impatient with things. They keep me in check that way. :P

I'm just motivated to study this new protocol I'm wanting to start and to hopefully start moving forward. Its been a really long time since I've actually done anything.....but I just want to make sure that whatever I do is the *right* thing for me.

My only two choices are to start treating things without knowing all of my mutations....or to just wait a little longer. Its actually easier for me to wait then it is for me to think about trying new things right now. We all know I'm not exactly the patient type.....but I've never actually taken anything which has moved me in the right direction either.

As long as I can start making progress I can definately go to Germany. :)

I'm happy that you are back to the natural stuff......and what you feel most comfortable with. :)

I dont think I would have been able to keep functioing if I'd tried any type of pharmaceuticals....at some point I might need something but I think it would be way down the road....if its even necessary at all.

Good news about getting credit on the bed. YAY! :D

Wow Rachel! I'd be concerned too. Hopefully the damage near/around your mom's condo won't be bad.

There's a restoration crew here right now. They said on a scale of 1-10....we're like a 1....so its not that bad at all. Anyways, they're using a blower to make sure the carpet is completely dry. Tomorrow they'll be back to pull the carpet up and treat for mold growth....so there will be a strong odor until it airs out.

Its cold out and since this just happened earlier today they said mold wont have a chance to grow. They are also taking the whole ceiling down and taking care of all that so that there is no mold. The only bad part is that all this repair work is gonna expose me to stuff.....and then there will be fresh paint when its done. :(

I thought you could no longer have brownies or did u find some that u can eat again.

I found some that I can eat again.....but they have frosting which I do react to. I try to remove as much frosting as I can but I do get some reactions anyway. They are not nearly as safe as the other ones were.....but I'm eating them anyway. :P

Why does she think its hyperthyroid...what do your lab results indicate (TSH, FT4 and FT3)? I had hyperthyroid (Graves Disease) so I'm pretty familiar with the symptoms of overactive thyroid, labwork, etc. My hyperthyroid symptoms were shakiness/trembling, sweating, intense pressure behind eyes, headaches, feeling wired, insomnia, HUGE appetite, no weight gain (but I've always had that), anxiety, feeling hot, OCD, bad temper and hairloss.

I think I posted it because it was one of the pages that I was reading when I was looking into the PST enzyme/sulfation issues. I do think that in my case this enzyme/pathway is impaired. I use a cream.....but I dont make it myself....I use Kirkmans. Its actually the only thing that I've used for a long period of time and have not had any problems with. Its helped me alot. :)

Wow, Sherry, what a mess! That's a lot to go through especially with hubby out of town.

Yeah, its been hard. The work will be finished tomorrow, yeah! But the cleanup is major. Thankfully my housekeeper is helping. She's been a jewel, staying out there and trying to do stuff and keeping me in my room away from the fumes and dust for the most part. Today we had to have the house open again but it wasn't nearly as cold, thankfully.

Boy have i missed this thread lol. I have an couple of questions.

1. how much vitamin d does everyone take?

2. what are your feelings of progesterone liposomal.

3. does low cortisol in morning and high cortisol at night sound like adrenal fatigue.

4, Im goign to start getting all my supplements in the next few days, is it wise to start one at time and at small dose and work my way up. And if i add one at a time how much time do i give in between starting another one?

paula

Paula,

I'd start supps one at a time unless you were muscle tested for them. At least 4 days in between but maybe it should be longer. Hopefully someone more knowlegable will chime in.

April,

No she does not want me to do that test, but she offers it and im thinking i might do it after the first of the year. I cant afford anymore testing right now, cause my supplements are going to cost me over 300 a month. Between the hair testing, stool testing and blood testing I really think I have all the answers that i need right now. everything makes so much sense to me. She even wrote out my portocol that tells me what to take and when and what to eat. I know all of this will be great for me. I know I am going to have an great new yea.

Paula,

I was taking about 2000IU but when I took the kids to the dr for their checkups he said to give them 2000IU so I think I could bump my dose up a bit.

I used to have the same cortisol problems. The high cortisol at night made me have sleep issues. I took something to suppress the cortisol at night and adrenal support in the morning to help normalize. It worked great.

I would definately recommend starting one thing at the time just in case you react - you will know what or which one you react to.

confused Community Regular

I figured take one at a time, I am on 15 different supps so this is going to take some time lol. Im trying to figure out if i should start with the gut issue supps or the progesterone/estrogene stuff, or the stuff to get me out of this funk im in.

I just did want to say since giving up carbs and redbridge at night, i am sleeping a little better so that is an start. Im sure once i get over this depression of losing my grandfather and a friend this last week, I will start to feel even better.

so how is everyone else, anyone else have major withdrawls the last few days. I was so lost I had to join other forums for health problems.

paula

nora-n Rookie

yes, some withdrawals...

paula, low cortisol in morning and high in the evening sounds rather like cushings but is not necessarily that. There is even a thing celiac disease pseudo-cushings (which comes from stress)

Adrenals are usually stressed with hypothyroidism since adrenals have to pitch in instead of thyroid. So it may be to early to tell until after getting on the proper dose of thyroid meds for a while.

still , one does not know the cause of the hypothyroidism, sound like pituary or hypothalamic. And the inverse cortiosl cycle cold be from there too.

Away, one feel just awful with cushings or pseudocusings. Lots of stuff on the internet too. I have no idea if alternative stuff helps, and we usually only have those with hypo plus adrenal fatigue on the thyroid forums, those are common. And some few with sheehan's. (absent or damaged pituitary on MRI, comes often from damage during childbirth, like heavy bleeding. The pituitary then gets destroyed, or gets autoimmune destruction because of antibodies)

I only know about alternative treatments for autoimmune things, it is LDN like I mentioned a number of times before. Cushings and stuff are beyond me. But weak adrenals often get better after the right dose of thyroid meds (for months) since they do not have to pitch in for the thyroid anymore.

Just went to the neurologist, who specializes in headaches and he's pretty good.

Anyway, he did an EEG on my brain, and it came back "perfect" he ordered an MRI on my brain.

They found a 4mm cyst on my pineal glad. A benign tumor of sorts. Otherwise the rest of the brain turned out to look ok.

He said that I should get another MRI in a year to see if it grows, and that they are common in headache patients.

The symptoms of a larger cyst can be (nausea, head pressure, blurry vision, headaches, trouble sleeping)

The pineal gland secretes melatonin, and regulates cercadian rhythms in the body (the suprachiasmatic neculi of the anterior hypothalimus, to be percise) or the SCN.

So anyhow, just wants me to wait and get another MRI in a year. Ive been reading online and a lot of people seem to have pineal cysts, it seems, they ALL HAVE HEADACHES, and head pressure.

So its not just a no big deal thing, I would think.

I just got off my brith control pills, and I hope and pray that I get a normal period. If not then Im going to freak out and get tests done for adrenals, and other crap, that has to do with the endocrine system. My thyroid is fine,,,

Never had adrenals checked tho...???

Peace out hope everyone is feeling better?

Just curious does anyone else have pineal gland cysts on their MRIs?

(the sojgrens stuff, my eye exam was good, no problems there, she said to use Systane eye drops, they are preservative free, they are pretty soothing so far.) (the rhumatologist hasent called and its been a week so I guess that is good, im getting my results back in the mail Im curious about the vitamin D levels she ordered, curious how low they are,,,)

I know we have talked about emotional stress before in here and im usually one to give advice on how to get over the stress, but I can not give me the tips to get over what im feeling.

I am so hurt and upset right now that i dont know what to do. I know the feelings of hatred are going to keep me from healing. I just dont know how to get passed what im feeling. I would explain more but since anyone can read on here, i dont feel comfortable. If anyone wants more info just pm me.

I hope that makes sense. Im guessing what im asking is how do you get over being really upset with people that have hurt you over and over again.

Paula, I would start at very small doses, one at a time and wait at least 2 days before adding in something new.

Im sure once i get over this depression of losing my grandfather and a friend this last week, I will start to feel even better.

Paula {{{{{lots of hugs}}}}}. I'm sorry for your loss. :(

Its definately harder to deal with symptoms (or anything really) when we're going through tough times. Feel better soon.

so how is everyone else, anyone else have major withdrawls the last few days. I was so lost I had to join other forums for health problems.

No withdrawls for me because I've been pretty busy still learning the genetic stuff. I'm actually surprised at how much I'm understanding now! I'm on another board and I can actually particiapte now....whereas a few months ago most of it would have been totally over my head.

I think much of my focus will be on this for awhile...and especially once my results come back. I cant wait!!

I'm starting to understand and piece together alot of the issues that I have and how they're related to my biochemistry.....as well as how they will most likely need to be treated. Right now I'm just learning what I can but I wont really know anything for sure until I get my results.

Just curious does anyone else have pineal gland cysts on their MRIs?

My MRI showed nothing out of the ordinary.

Welcome to the forum, @Gill.brittany8, Yes, the bloodwork is confusing.   One has to be eating a sufficient amount of gluten (10 grams/day, about 5-6 slices of bread) in order for the antibody level to get high enough to be measured in the bloodstream.  If insufficient amounts of gluten are eaten, the the antibodies stay in the small intestines, hence the statement "tTG IgA may normalize in individuals with celiac disease who maintain a gluten-free diet."  The bloodwork reflects anemia.  People with anemia can have false negatives on tTg IgA tests because anemia interferes with antibody production.  Diabetes and Thiamine deficiency are other conditions that may result in false negatives.  Anemias, B12 deficiency, iron deficiency, Thiamine deficiency and gastritis are common in undiagnosed Celiac disease.    The DGP IgG antibody test should be given because your daughter is so young.  Many young people test positive on DGP IgG because their immune systems are not mature and don't produce IgA antibodies yet.  Your daughter has several alleles (genes for Celiac disease).   Your daughter needs to be checked for nutritional deficiencies.  Iron (ferritin) B12, Vitamin D, Thiamine and Vitamin A should be checked.   Were any biopsies taken during the endoscopy? Keep us posted on your progress.
    • knitty kitty
The intestinal tract can be as long as twenty-two feet long, so intestinal damage may be out of the reach of endoscopy tools.  Some people have had more success with capsule endoscopy, but this method cannot take biopsies.
    • knitty kitty
@Jack Common, It's possible that your antibiotic for giardiasis has caused thiamine deficiency.   https://hormonesmatter.com/metronidazole-toxicity-thiamine-deficiency-wernickes-encephalopathy/ And... Thiamine and benfotiamine: Focus on their therapeutic potential https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10682628/ For clarification, the weight of your slice of bread is not equal to the amount of gluten in it.   Gluten helps form those big holes in breads, so breads like thick chewy pizza crust and artisan breads contain more gluten than cakes and cookies.

Sorry about that link.  It was meant for a different post.   Do consider taking high dose Vitamin D in order to get your level up to around 80 nm/l quickly.   This is the level where Vitamin D can properly work like a hormone and can improve the immune system and lower inflammation.  It makes a big difference.   I took high dose Vitamin D and really improved quickly.  I ate Vitamin D supplements throughout the day like m&ms.  My body craved them.  Very strange, I know, but it worked.   Before you have surgery, you really need to improve your vitamins and minerals.  Vitamins A and D, Vitamin C and Niacin are extremely important to skin health and repair.  Without these, the body does not repair itself neatly.  I've got a scar worthy of a horror movie.  My doctors were clueless about nutritional deficiencies. A sublingual Vitamin B12 supplement will work better for boosting levels.  Tablets or liquid drops in the mouth are easily absorbed directly into the blood stream.   Do bear in mind that about half of Celiac people react to the protein in dairy, Casein, the same as they react to gluten because segments of the protein in Casein resembles segments of the protein Gluten.  Some people lose the ability to produce lactase, the enzyme that digests Lactose, the sugar in dairy, as they age.  Others lose the ability to produce lactase because the intestinal Villi become damaged during the autoimmune response against gluten, and damaged chili can't produce lactase.   Do try Benfotiamine.  It has been shown to improve gastrointestinal health and neuropathy. Keep us posted on your progress!

Thanks sending me additional links including how to test for thiamine deficiency. With regards to your first link, I wasn't diagnosed with giardiasis and I didn't take antibiotic for it. I try to generally stay away from antibiotic unless absolutely necessary as it might affect gut health. For treating phimosis, the doctor didn't give me antibiotics. I need to have a circumcision surgery which I haven't got around to schedule it.
