Ok, big change, drum roll... Mister Ds helped me change my signature...f5 and look!! Is it too loud?!

btw-my teenage son wanted to know if Rachelville has a strip club. Yes, I am going to wash out his mouth with soap.

Vincent-I can't believe this, you are way too young for this. You will certainly be in my prayers. You are a brave guy to help so many others and with your own suffering going on. Take care.

Andrea (a.k.a. Mother Hen)

You simply amaze me. :)

Who else is this organized??

I'm still waiting for Dave and Bev's husband to answer the application questions that our esteemed president wrote out.

Bev.....Page 305 for your hubby....look for a post to The Dave.

Oh OK. I'll repost it here.

Are you gluten free?

Do you promise to never infiltrate Rachelville with gluteney foods?

Do you promise to never bring gigantic Auxigro ridden produce into R-Ville?

OK...Thats about it.

If you answered yes to all of the above....the job is yours. :D

Oh...the purple glittery bats are our friends...so please do not hurt them. :)

If you anwered no to any of the above.....then you would need to promise to be gluten free while here and shower, brush teeth, and wear a fresh clean set of clothes so as not to make any of us sick. Many of us here are very sensitive.

OK- my "colonoscopy" tomorrow  has become quite the family drama.

Shoot, did I miss you Beverly? I just wanted to say best of luck with your colonoscopy tomorrow!! Glad you got the family drama all figured out

Vincent, good luck with your heart test as well :)

You both keep us posted.

Susan, should you prep the Dingos?:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

People, where would we be without our Dingos, geese, and multi-purpose word Spinach??? Nowhere I tell you, nowhere.

Hi Celia!!! I am like Rachel I am attatched to "Celia". I copied you and Patti and made my job description red, shall I add astericks??

Well then it would only take you about - - 12 hours, maybe? let me see how fast I can eat my nuggets...

Andrea, I love our jobs list, thank you again for doing it, oh and Rachel's criterion for getting into Rachelville is hilarious although I think I missed something in between no bats and the bats turning purple.

Dont know if this has been addressed yet (I'm still on page 306) but I think Penguin really really wanted bats (cant remember why though  ). Susan kind of freaked out...something about bats getting in her hair. Penguin (or was it someone else) declared that these particular bats would have some kind of Susan-hair-avoidance-radar....they do not fly within a certain radius around Susan's head. Everyone was happy and next thing I knew the bats were purple and glittery.

Of course who knows....I do suffer from brainfog alot of the time soooo I might have that whole story completely wrong. :P

After all that was AGES ago!!

The bats need to help the overtaxed geese pollenate the fields of uber organic, non auxigroed vegetables. They have hair avoidance radar, and are purple and glittery just to make them prettier :P

GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Welllll.....finally tried them last night and am rubbish today (spinached) - - feel like lead and can hardly move....BTW they taste almost exactly like Trader Joe's Savory Thins - but, I don't think you have Trader Joe's in Canada.

Blue Diamond Nut Thins <_<

Susan: Are you sick again?

MiaMia: How are you tonight?

Rachel--24 Collaborator
BLUE DIAMOND NUT THINS, maybe 12 or 13 or them, at 3 a.m. Have never had them before but my reaction to that, if any, would normally be this afternoon.

Oh...yeah...it was the Nut Thins. I betcha.

Hope you feel better. Dang...is that 2 glutenings for you in one week?

Is the Dingo girl (I think Anne is her name) at least helping you through this?

I actually had a colonics- and she did not see good things. I have really not been well lately it seems like nothing I am doing is working. I am really frustrated, everytime I make any progress I seem to go backwards and often I end up worse then I was to begin with.

Miamia,

Have no words of encouragement that you haven't already heard, but I just wanted you to know that you have absolutely no idea how much I can relate to this statement. If it helps to make you feel better at all, I am SOOOOOOO in the same boat as you are........ except in your situation, you take one step forward (progress) then go backwards..... I just plain go backwards!!!! :(

Sending hugs to ya,

Karen

See Rachel....you weren't the only one working today.....Tavi was too. :P

You guys are all out to make sure I have an even harder time leaving this computer more frequently during the day. What am I going to do once school starts. With first grade I can't exactly give Talitha her lesson and say go. Lots of work for first grade.

Vincent that story of your son is so awesome, I am teary from reading it. God is so good. Timothy is so precious. :) Will be praying for you on Weds. and Bev tomorrow.

Rachel-Do you have a TJ Maxx near you? If so, check them out. The one here had the most awesome tangerine sandals earlier in the season. I also saw some wonderful apricot colored ones at Famous Footwear on sale. I bought a *delicious* pair of Connies in dk brown-very strappy, 1 1/2 inch heel for 1/2 price on Friday. Maybe you have one there and they have the same stock. I think the ones at TJ Maxx were nine west. (Yes, I am a shoe addict)

My precious Annie is never, ever far, follows me to every room, and holds my hand even as I pee. you truly cannot believe how precious her little soul is, my little roadside dog with the checkered past.

no, one glutening and one over-contamination of Nuggets.... not really a glutening just a poisoning with too much....sugar and chocolate, you know, when you eat a whole bag in two days.... again (pre-menstrual binge)

tangerine sandalls  for some reason that cracked me up.....will you wear them with your red visor...;)

ROBBIN - - OMG your sparkly red asterisked signature - another big snortling guffaw here - -

VINCENT - - good luck! and your son - what a wonderful story.

BEVERLY - - and you, too! must get to the "bottom" of this.... B)

Judy - did you post something here or did I read elsewhere - - you are a treasure!

the bats being purple and glittery - Chelsea's idea and thank God they will not come near our hair (no, never had one in my hair but, long story, when I was 8, severe poison oak and my mom drugged me wtih something found in the cabin, I hallucinated UNTIL DAWN and felt, heard, and saw bats all night.....my family and the babysitter ignored me.....explains many things about me :wacko::wacko: )

Miamia and Karen - - hugs to you both and may you find sweet recovery.

And NOW I am turning this thing off and finishing some things, night dear friends of Rachelville, and sweet dreams!

Hey, I am wondering, if anyone might know, can Claritin be made at a compounding pharmacy without the added ingredients????

Julie,

My doc is looking into this for me. Not for Claritin though...another antihistamine...I think Zyrtec?? Is that an antihistamine? I dunno...it started with a Z though. Shes gonna ask about that or ANY antihistimine that can be compounded. She said the Ketotifen is mainly for the gut and asthma...not the same as these other antihistimines.

Guest BERNESES

Oh- I'm getting to the bottom alright :P

Karen- not sure if I already said this but I LOVE the trophy!!!!!!!!!! It's a winner!

And Vincent, I'm so happy about your son. Yeah!!!!!! Good luck with your test Wednesday.

Good night all- this time I really am going. Hugs to all and sweet dreams!

Okay, so since joining this thread on page 15 or so I've been trying to figure out what causes the almost unbearable itching I have on my legs...sometimes it's barely noticable and sometimes it's just horrible...also through the course of this thread I've thought it might be corn, histamine, chicken, auxigro, sugar and air.

:lol::lol:

Yeah Donna...you and me both. Except I dont have the itchy leg thing going on.

CHOCOLATE!!

Donna, you must limit yourself...do we need another intervention?

Oh yeah....who am I to talk...the ice cream freak over here calling the kettle black.

Chocolate is super high in histamine...no wonder your legs are itching like that! :o

Zyrtec-yes, Rachel-that is what ds takes -why do you need to have it compounded? Is it gluten, dairy or corn? I am wondering since I take it sometimes too.

Do you eat processed gluten free foods?
    • Scott Adams
You may want to wear an N-95 mask to filter out any possible gluten, at least when you handle the flour.

It sounds like you've been on quite the journey trying to understand your symptoms and diagnosis. It’s great that you’re planning to consult a doctor for allergy testing, as distinguishing between a wheat allergy, celiac disease, or another gluten-related condition is crucial for moving forward. The fact that you’ve tolerated barley and wheat products without recent symptoms might suggest something other than celiac disease, but as you noted, the absence of immediate symptoms doesn’t necessarily rule out potential underlying damage, especially if celiac disease is still a possibility. It’s worth discussing whether you should undergo updated testing, such as genetic testing for celiac markers (HLA-DQ2/DQ8), or even revisiting an endoscopy if appropriate. In the meantime, keep documenting your experiences with food and symptoms—it could provide valuable insights for your healthcare provider. It’s also important to test for other possible causes of your original symptoms, like IBS, food intolerances, or even other autoimmune conditions, to ensure nothing is overlooked.

Your daughter's results, along with her symptoms and family history, certainly suggest further investigation for celiac disease is warranted. The low total IgA can explain why some IgA-based tests, like tTG-IgA, are negative, as there's simply not enough IgA in her system for reliable results. The weak positive tTG-IgG is notable, especially with her symptoms and the vitamin D deficiency, which is common in celiac disease due to malabsorption. I’d recommend discussing these results with her doctor or a gastroenterologist. They may suggest an endoscopy with biopsy for a definitive diagnosis or explore other potential causes for her symptoms. Meanwhile, keeping a food and symptom diary can help track patterns until a formal diagnosis is made. This article might be helpful. It breaks down each type of test, and what a positive results means in terms of the probability that you might have celiac disease.

Thank you for sharing your story—it really highlights the lifelong challenges of living with celiac disease, especially during a time when gluten-free options were nearly nonexistent. It’s heartbreaking to hear about your mother’s struggles and the severe health complications she faced, and I completely agree that more research is needed into the long-term effects of celiac and its associated autoimmune disorders like Hashimoto’s. The cost and availability of healthy, truly gluten-free foods remain a huge issue, and navigating hidden gluten and cross-contamination can make social situations and even eating out incredibly stressful. I also share your frustration with the lack of understanding among some medical professionals and the difficulty in finding specialists who truly get it. Your point about the need for affordable medical treatments, food vouchers, and better resources like travel guides for celiacs is spot on. Hopefully, as awareness grows, there will be more support for people facing these challenges. Thank you for raising such important issues! You should find a new GP in the New Year, because you cannot cure celiac disease by detoxing/cleaning your gut, and there is a lot of junk science out there which makes claims like this one.
