Mine came in panels that just snap together, ver easy to assemble and take apart. Is yours like this too? I'm excited for you to use it, can't wait either to hear about it!

Yes, that's how it came .... seems pretty easy.

Just an update on my dad.

He was back in the hospital Wed. night with fluid in his lungs. They pulled out a liter of fluid. He expected to go home today.

Mitch is doing good, but over did it yesterday. He's keeping quieter today.

CarlaB Enthusiast

Sorry for your dad's setback, Andrea. Glad Mitch is doing better.

Adam got the sauna set up yesterday! It's great! The infrared saunas are cooler than regular saunas -- 130-150 degrees instead of 180 -- but they sure make you sweat more!! I've never sweat this much in a sauna before!! It has to be helping because my skin feels better and smoother after using last night and this morning. I guess there's no way to really tell if it's doing anything, but I'm happy with it. It's relaxing if nothing else.

AndreaB Contributor

Carla,

Relax for me a little will you? :)

I'm in a blah mood today. Kinda down. :(

Off to start dinner and the baby is awake.

CarlaB Enthusiast

Sorry you're down ... :( Just put the baby in a sling and make something easy!

Thanks you guys.

I'm tired, mainly because I stay up too late. I need to try and force myself to go to bed early and catch up on some sleep, then I'll be better as far as that is concerned. The hard part is it's Mitch's computer time til between 9:30 and 10, then my turn after that as far as the evenings go.

Elisabet,

For the most part I'm still on the histamine restricted diet....however I did have a banana, an avocado and I also bought a plum (havent eaten yet). I spaced them out though.

I did have reactions to store bought ice cream. I was making my own and sometimes I'd react and other times I wouldnt. I couldnt use sugar in the ice cream at all. My doctor told me to stop eating dairy cuz it would be worsening my sensitivities...so no more ice cream. :(

I dont think I was always this patient or compassionate. I think it was one of the good things that came out of getting this illness. I was oblivious to alot of things before I got sick. Its changed me in so many ways.

Just thought I'd drop you a note. I don't get around here very often as I don't avoid gluten. I once thought I had to, but I don't. Btw this is an impossibly long thread to catch up on.

Anyway, it looks like you've found the Delphi site, and cornallergens.com and that you're well on your way to getting better. I'm also working on a research/testimony site ( Open Original Shared Link ) to help document some of the research people have done into corn allergy/intolerance and corn derivatives.

From what I've read, I'm pretty certain you have a corn allergy. It could also be sulfites as it seems they go hand in hand.

I'm sure you've read by now that a lot of your issues with milk could be corn-contamination. Either by the enrichments or the packaging, etc. Btw there isn't a "safe" ice cream for corn allergy. And your homemade versions could have been "corned" by adding vanilla plus other miscellaneous ingredients (including the milk). Things that you'd think should be safe, aren't.

In one of your posts you questioned your gluten-sensitivity. If you've tested positive to react to gluten, then its most likely still going to be an issue.

I was trying to read on exactly what made you suspect Lyme disease? Mercury poisoning? Is it just stiff joints and neck pain? If so, those can be brought on by allergic reactions. I get severe back/neck pains myself whenever I get into something corn, as well as other joint issues.

Anyway, I mostly just wanted to say HI. Hope things are going much better for you.

hi- Just wanted to send some love vibes to everyone who needs 'em 9which is everyone here!). Rachel- What I admire so much about you is your perseverance..... you will find out what it is and you will win. I've NEVER doubted that even if you're frustrated! Keep us posted.

Andrea- I'm sorry you're having such a rough week between your dad and Mitch's surgery. I hope things get better for you soon.

Just a quick drive-by. Hugs to all, B

Donna, how are you feeling lately??

Okay. Been very down lately so haven't been posting much...don't want to bring everyone down, lol. Had my post and temporary crown done on Friday...been fighting TMJ pain since then, but it really hasn't been as bad as last time...knowing what I have and what I can do to help minimize the severe pain has helped. My portion of all this dental work though is around $750! Ouch. And, it's time for major car servicing too...OUCH again, lol.

They downsized our department at work, so there is now only two of us (one will work days one will work nights, so really only 1 person on each shift) working for about 60 people. They've reduced the amount of work we're supposed to do, but it means a major change in procedure and thinking for the entire office, including us...can't help people as much as I'm used to and don't like telling people I CAN'T help them...I've never liked that, but I also can't make myself sick trying to help EVERYONE, and I can't help one and not another. The last day for the people who were let go was Friday...I've worked with one of them for nearly 15 years! Very sad.

So, I've been a little depressed and really stressed so resorted to eating some Hershey's chocolate last week, which didn't sit well, OBVIOUSLY!! Then finally bought some Tropical Source chocolate so at least it wouldn't have dairy in it! None of it is good for me though, and I'll snap out of it soon, I promise, lol.

jerseyangel Proficient

Aw Donna, sorry about all of the things that are happening right now :( I'm hoping that at least the physical pain will subside soon--and also that the work related situation will work itself out to where you'll feel comfortable with the new routine. :)

AndreaB Contributor

I'm sorry Donna.

That's got to be a hard thing to go through, teeth, diet and work.

I've been down too lately. Must be going around.

jerseyangel Proficient

You too, Andrea? :( Hope you feel better soon!

I'm actually going to the doctor this afternoon--I'm pretty sure I have an eye infection. It's been going on since last week, and I've been feeling a little nauseous and icky. I was hoping it would clear up on it's own...

Green12 Enthusiast

Donna, I am so sorry you are feeling so down. I was hoping the situation with your work changes would be temporary until everything settled down but that doesn't sound like the case. I agree that you are in a difficult position wanting/needing to help everyone but not being able to because there isn't enough of you to go around, and that will make for lots of stress and you will wear you thin. And I'm sorry about your mouth pain and the bills, bils, bills. Please take care of yourself!

p.s. don't beat yourself up about the chocolate, we all do that at one time or another when things are stressful.

Beverly, I love your picture! You look fabulous, gorgeous and so happy :)

I hope you are in better spirits Andrea :) Your dad will be in my thoughts.

Carla, I'm glad you like your sauna! What I like to do is alternate between sessions with a very low temp and high/higher temp. A lower temp will allow the infra red heat to get into the fat layers where the toxins are stored, and you will notice you will secrete an oily film (sounds kinda gross, but it's a good thing  ) as well as sweat. I get in around the low 90s and let it go to about 105, or around there. I still sweat an awful lot but its a different kind of sweat, if that makes sense.

Hi Judy, where have you been?

Susie, so happy to see you :)

Patti, hi :) Sorry to hear about your eye. I hope your Dr.s appt is helpful today.

AndreaB Contributor

Patti,

That's too bad about your eye. I hope you can get your infection under control quickly. I know what you mean about trying to wait it out.

Beverly,

I haven't said, but I thought.....you're picture is beautiful. It's nice to see you more clearly.

Wow, hope it clears up quickly...I've never had an eye infection...does it hurt?

I've been down too lately. Must be going around.

I'm so sorry! You've had good reason though! My "issues" always seem so trivial when I read about other's trials...that's one of the reasons why I don't like to post much. You've certainly had your share of trials recently!

Thanks so much! Nope afraid it's not temporary. The entire office is really worked up about all this, everyone is upset, so it's hard to ignore, lol. I've had my chocolate for the day, so I'm feeling medicated at the moment.

I agree with everyone--Bev's picture is lovely! :)

Donna, please don't think that your problems are trivial--they are happening to you and they are important. I hope that you will post whenever you feel the need to--and then of course when you just want to--ya know, for socializing :D

My eye dosen't hurt so much as it is sore when I blink, and is red under the lower lid. The upper lid is a little puffy, too. Anyway, I really do look like this right now ;) .

I agree with Patti, Donna. Everyone's problems can tend to themselves, but we are a support and socialization network and everyone is important.

Well Patti, you must not be feeling too poorly despite the eye if you can laugh at it. :)

:lol::lol:

Sorry several of you have not been feeling well, eye infection, TMG, general down feeling for Andrea, maybe Susan is coming out of it hopefully!! :) "Make your own Bumble Bars", neato then you know exactly what is in them!! Yes, we do plan to support each other here and I have been falling down on that. Just been so tired and wanting to sleep so much last 2 weeks, in report from Dr. I will be dropping a med that may be causing sleepiness... <_< Anyway getting lots of wash done on this BEEutiful fall day here!!

I never did tell you all about our BIG weekend 9/15/06 thru 9/19/06, so here goes "want it or not'. Our Wyo. dd, hubby and BIG dog arrived 9/15/06 late pm/ their camper and were here thru 9.19/06. Other 2 dd's came Sat. am, 1/ hubby and other/ gr.son and stayed till sun eve. Sunday mid dd's hubby, son amd family came for the day+ a gr.dd & hubby +my brother & wife + hubbies sister & hubby + our pastor. We had late 60th ann. cake for us and also celebrated my BD along/ several other family Bd's. We just had a delicious time visiting with everyone but sometimes were so many here did not get to talk to all much. It was really a GREAT celebration and sm. family reunion!! :) With being school teachers and students and living so far away 1/2 of our family could not be here but we heard from them by telephone or email, it was all great!!

I so hope all of you not feeling the best will soon have a turnaround for the better!! evie Have a good pm all.

jerseyangel Proficient

Thanks for all of the good thoughts, Evie :)

Sounds like you all had quite the weekend!! I'm glad you could have a lot of the family there with you to celebrate. Now, you probably need to rest up from all the excitement :D

Hope you get good news from the doctor, and are able to get off that medication that makes you sleepy.

We're having a beautiful day here, too. Sunny, breezy and about 70--perfect :)

There is no established connection between type 2 diabetes and celiac disease. There is a connection with type 1, however, as about 6% of those with type 1 diabetes also have celiac disease. This rate is 6x that of the celiac rate found in the general population. https://celiac.org/about-celiac-disease/related-conditions/diabetes-and-celiac-disease/

Here is a link to the skin version, and the only ingredients are "chicken": https://www.perduefarms.com/en-US/perdue-bone-in-chicken-thighs-pack/60625.html There should also be ingredients and any allergens listed there on the package.
    • trents
Welcome to the forum, @BeeBarnard! I really can't imagine how either skin or skinless chicken thighs could not be gluten free unless one or the other were treated with some seasoning ingredient that was not gluten free. Do the product labels indicate any additional ingredients added to the meat? Is your daughter a super sensitive celiac? If not, the amount of gluten cross contamination found in seasonings is usually inconsequential.
    • BeeBarnard
HI, My daughter was recently diagnosed with Celiac and I would like to make her some chicken soup (she's got he flu). I found all gluten free ingredients but I'm having trouble with the chicken. I purchased Purdue bone-in chicken thighs from BJ's Wholesale Club. Purdue says that they are gluten free but the BJ's website says no. It seems like skin-on chicken is not, but skinless is. Does this seem accurate? Thank you
