Yea Rachel--the window will be fine--we have a large one over the front door, too.

The pressure washer is the greatest thing for mold--on siding or on wood--like decks. You don't even need bleach--just the water pressure itself gets rid of it. It's really amazing, when we clean the deck in the spring for the first time. Looks like new again.

Yeah...I thought it was either mold or algae....its on the area of the house that is totally shaded....just like you said. :)

OMG....the Igenix Lyme results are in. :o

I just called the doctors office and they have the results. I'm soooo nervous I could just die.

Mostly I'm nervous the results will be negative and I still wont know what the heck is going on. :(

She asked if I had an appt. coming up...which I do....next week. I never resheduled cuz I just didnt want to have to wait any longer. She said the dr. will go over the results at my appt but I asked her if I could know the results now. She said she'll leave a note for the Dr. to look at the results and she took my phone number....so I'm hoping he'll call cuz I'm about to have a freaking heart attack. I have 2 1/2 weeks of built up anxiety...I think its making me feel worse.

Everyones telling me to just go with the flow....dont think about it....the results will come soon enough...etc...

Yeah...whatever...I just dont have that kind of patience right now.

Patti,

In the past I've thrown bleach on the green stuff and then hosed it off. It worked pretty well but I had to scrub a little too.....Now I'd probably have to wear a mask if I did that cuz the bleach would likely kill me.

I'm liking the idea of the pressure washer much better. :D

well we com up via i95/turnpike, then get off on 195 towards Great Adventure... so would not go by you, but that would not stop us from driving out to see ya, esply since you have a gluten-clue!

Actually, it would only be about 20 miles out of your way--if you come up 95 to 295 thru Delaware, over the Delaware Memorial Bridge, were right off exit 52 A or B. Or off the Turnpike at exit 5. Then, Toms River is about an hour from here.

And I can guarantee that Tim wouldn't get glutened or anything else-d here :D Remember, this is the home of Mrs. Food Sensitivity--I'm even intolerant to the water

When I pressure washed our manufactured home it almost blinded us when we looked at it. It was pretty easy to see where you had cleaned. It was really bad, dirt and mold/algae. Now we live in a rental....hey maybe I could pressure wash the weeds......blast them right out of the ground. Nah, that wouldn't work would it?

I'm not going to tell you to go with the flow! If the doctor dosen't call you back in a reasonable amount of time, call him.

I completely understand that feeling of wanting to jump out of your skin, you get so nervous waiting. I get the same way! ;)

I'm nervous FOR you! Post as soon as you find out. Gosh, can you imagine if this is it

Patti,

Would you be able to save up money to come over next year? We could go in on a hotel room....

Andrea--

Sorry, I just saw this

Actually, the biggest problem for me is that I would be afraid to fly out there. I don't get panic attacks anymore, but the thought of flying petrifies me. I've flown before, but not for years. I wish it wasn't such a long drive--my husband loves to travel, and would probably be game. He and my son are driving out to South Dakota next week to pick up a car. I guess the west coast isn't that much further....Maybe sometime we could do it--I'd set it up far enough in advance so I could see as many of you as possible.

It was a lovely thought--thanks :)

We usally get of the Turnpike at 7a, so we pass 5 enroute for sure.

We come up the 495 and then 95 via the harbor tunnel, and eventually go over the bridge. 295 migt be in there, but once we get through the tunnel we just follow the 95/turnpike signs all the way to 7a. Driven it enough times now Im mostly on autopilot so do not recall any fine details... thats around 10 hours in to our drive. The full run is 865 miles door to door, 13-16 hours pending traffice/weather, and I only stop for fuel. :D

The problem is we drive over night so its around 6 or so AM when we would be in the area you describe.... its probably better just to drive the hour to your place. We usally take a full week when we go so there would be time if your schedual is a little flexible.

The real question is can you take an extremly hyper and brilliant red headed toodler ripping up your house :lol:

If you have allergy sufferers in you home (like who here doesnt?) thats not helping much either

O? So you think you have Lyme's now? I am sorry but this thread is very hard on ppl like me to follow, last I understand dairy was okay, MSG and CORN were out, and something that started with an Au was bad. *so confused* So is the Lyme's instead of , or inaddtion to?

Rachel,

By all means.....call the doctor.....tell him you and many others want to know....NOW. Who want to wait until next week? Anyone?

Vincent,

Rachel is being tested for lyme. She was referred to a new doctor because of possible mercury toxicity. The doctor wanted to rule out lyme first I think.

Patti,

That would be cool if you and hubby could come out this far. I'd be willing to head to California so we could all meet in the Sacramento area.....or crash Rachel in Manteca. :P

Sounds like it would make more sense for you guys to just come during the week you're up here. We're very flexible--no problem there.

As far as the 'toddler' goes, we raised 2 rambunctous boys and lived to tell about it :D The little guy is perfectly welcome here. :)

I could see it now--my cross-country Celiac adventure! Seriously, if we did this, I'd have to work it out so I could at least stop and meet as many of my friends as possible. I'd really love to do it--maybe next year :D

You'd need to, how else would you be able to get a good meal now and then on the road!!??

Maybe we should start a travel group ... it's so hard to travel, we can just offer our homes to each other .... poor Steve, everyone's going to want to go there, France is much more interesting than Ohio! Though I can see an Eiffel Tower if I just drive a little down the road .... it's at King's Island.

The Staue of Liberty is right here in Oneonta, NY (about 1/10 scale), along with the National Soccer Hall of Fame, just down the road a piece from Cooperstown, NY National Baseball Hall of Fame. You're all welcome to visit. I make a mean Tollhouse cookie!

I love Nashville! When we lived in Georgia, we used to spend Christmas vacation at the Opryland Hotel. We'd decorate the indoor terrace, and hide the boys' gifts in the trunk until they were asleep! Santa would find us there. We even had a church that we'd go to on Christmas Eve--St. Joseph's--right near there.

It's incredible there--the whole town. I used to tell my husband that I wish we could move there every time we visited. You are definately on my route :D

Hi everyone,

I found out im 7 weeks pregnant.

I was feeling tired and my tooth was bothering me a lot, and after the root canal, I threw up all night long.

I took a preg test the next day cause I reazlied i hadent had my period, was feeling tired and having worse headaches than normal.

Its positive, I had an untra sound done and everything looks normal, the baby looks like a little lima bean, its so cute.

Anyways I told my boyfriend about it , at first he was very loving and seemed ok then i said i might want to keep it and he switched and got scarred. and he wants me to get an abortion. He says hes not ready to commit to a baby now, but he is 40years old. and im only 26. He said hes afaraid it would be overwhelming, and he is living in his moms house right now anyways. We dont live together and he hasent offered to marry me and its been 1 1.5 years weve been together. Neither of us have been married or have any kids. He says he cant take care of me, and he is scarred of the responsibility, financially and not ready to be a parent. hes always joked about getting me preg. to be romantic, but now he really has and doesnt want to go through with it, he said he wants to have kids eventually and maybe marry me later if for sure we are right for eachother, and we are married with a house.

I feel the same way about being scarred because I havent finished my nursing school, or got my career started and but most of all, I dont have his support, I dont want to be a single mom, and I dont think I will have the backing of my family on this one.

I cannot barely support myself and im still in school, and he is an engineer its not like hes poor hes just maybe selfish, and wants to do things the right way like get married first and then plan the kids.

I dont understand why he would want to kill his own baby.

I really upset and not sure what to do, I dont want to have an abortion and kill my child, but I cant finacially do it without the support and I dont want to be a single mom and school.

I love this baby tho, I feel so hurt and confused.

on top of everything else. ya know.

Christina,

Please don't get an abortion. That is not the answer. There are people that could adopt that baby that can't have their own or that want another baby in the house. Sometimes a couple is willing to finance everything up to the birth of the child and then you reliquish rights to that child. There is legal paperwork for this I believe.

C

PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT KILL THE BABY.

If you can not take care of the baby there are plenty of families looking to adopt. Some wait years to get a child. Heck, my wife and I are trying to get in line now to get a child.

PM me, I would be happy to talk to you about this if you want.

C.. also the adoption agency we are using will pay ALL YOUR HOPSTIAL and PRENATAL fees Do not like money be an issue in this baby's life.

At least call them before you do anything...

Christine,

This definately has to be a time of a lot of pressure. Life throws things at us, and at 40 yrs old your boyfriend should know that. We'd all like perfect lives with things in the "proper" order. But well.. life happens.

If you want the baby, keep it. Things will work out the way they're supposed to.

If you want the baby and you "kill it" (your words not mine), you will live with that the rest of your life.

Whether he stands by you or not. Whether you end up rich or not. You have to do whats in your heart and your conscience. If you don't, you'll find yourself unhappy and regretting it the rest of your life.

Talk to your family. Sometimes they surprise us, by being better people than we gave them credit for. (course the opposite is also sometimes true as well).

Adoption is also an option here. And some adoptive parents might allow you to stay in a GodMother role or at least keep you informed about the baby. In the worst case senario, you may have to wait to get to know your baby til they're 18 or so.

Whatever you choose, its going to be hard. Every choice has good and bad points. You just have to make the one you can happily live with.

You're in my thoughts.

There is no established connection between type 2 diabetes and celiac disease. There is a connection with type 1, however, as about 6% of those with type 1 diabetes also have celiac disease. This rate is 6x that of the celiac rate found in the general population. https://celiac.org/about-celiac-disease/related-conditions/diabetes-and-celiac-disease/

Here is a link to the skin version, and the only ingredients are "chicken": https://www.perduefarms.com/en-US/perdue-bone-in-chicken-thighs-pack/60625.html There should also be ingredients and any allergens listed there on the package.
    • trents
Welcome to the forum, @BeeBarnard! I really can't imagine how either skin or skinless chicken thighs could not be gluten free unless one or the other were treated with some seasoning ingredient that was not gluten free. Do the product labels indicate any additional ingredients added to the meat? Is your daughter a super sensitive celiac? If not, the amount of gluten cross contamination found in seasonings is usually inconsequential.
    • BeeBarnard
HI, My daughter was recently diagnosed with Celiac and I would like to make her some chicken soup (she's got he flu). I found all gluten free ingredients but I'm having trouble with the chicken. I purchased Purdue bone-in chicken thighs from BJ's Wholesale Club. Purdue says that they are gluten free but the BJ's website says no. It seems like skin-on chicken is not, but skinless is. Does this seem accurate? Thank you
