Rachel-

thank you so much- one for the update on bioset and 2 for your concern for my situation. I definitly agree with everything you said about one doctor not neccesarily being enough. There is an acupuncturist my doc really wants me to see he specializes in motility issues -which are a huge problem for me. I would write more about my tuesday appt. But I am going to wait until tonight because I ahve my last shot today and I will have a chance to talk to my doc again and probably have more to say.

I was thinking about bioset or soem other treatment and thats why I wanted your opinion I definilty don't look at it as magic at this point I don't think any one trewatment is the answer for me- like you I just have too much going on for one thing to be the answer for me. My body is in a cycle that is very -for lack of a better word - MEAN!!! I have these terrible motility issues so my food can't move properly and then stays in my gut which is leaky so I get candida - and no treatment will help because I still ahve the motility issues. I Know these are just a few of my problems- but they are key. I think I want to focus on the motility issues right now- acupuncture, certain massage and possibly bioset or some other treatment can all be helpful in clearing pathways and opening things up to help me move things better (Plus with none of these treatments do I have to ingest anything.) So these are all things I am going to look into right now.

I really appreciate your concern for me. I can't tell you how much it means it is hard because while I ahve some friends who are so understandidng- most of them seem to just be completly unable to and have kind of left me feeling very isolated. I feel blessed thought to have all of you here and my family who are so supportive. I will write more tonight. thank you again for everything.

Miamia

Mia, we'll be patient just a little longer then, lol, but still anxious to hear.

I ended up going home early yesterday and was really glad I did. Towards afternoon I was so tired I wouldn't have been able to function at work. My bowels were so noisy that I'm sure they could hear them in the next office, lol. I was even able to take a nap for about 30 minutes...unfortunately it was too close to my dental appointment time, so I had to wake myself up with a jolt.

Speaking of my dental appointment...I was expecting a torture session because I put off having my teeth cleaned while I was having my amalgams removed and I'm someone who really has to go every 4-6 months because of build-up. I had plenty of build-up, but the cleaning wasn't nearly as bad as my past cleanings. My teeth weren't as sensitive!! Could that be because the amalgams are gone? She actually said that sometimes people with composites are more sensitive, but I didn't seem to be. I had SOME sensitive spots, but it really didn't seem as bad as all my other recent cleanings. Now, this is a different hygenist...this is the one that works with the dentist who removed my amalgams, so I guess it could also be the person...but I was kind of shocked, lol.

And back to the bowels, lol...I'm thinking it is one of the supplements I'm taking...that or the :ph34r:peanut butter  I've been eating. Or, may it really is just a bug, but I feel fine otherwise. Anyway, I get to test the theories today because I am not taking any supplements today or tomorrow in preparation for ART.

 back at you. We'll look forward to your update. It seems bioset could help with clearing pathways for you. ART would help prioritize. I know alot depends on funds as well. Hope the acupuncture goes well if you decide to go with that as well.

I vote for the peanut butter. I thought you didn't do well with nuts.

Donna,

You may be becoming intolerant to legumes  I hate to say it, but that's what happened to me, and I felt much better off the peanut butter--and I love peanut butter :(

After I stopped the PB, other legumes began to cause symptoms (or maybe I was just noticing them more), so I stopped all of them.

On the upside, I've found an almond butter that I can eat! :P

Alright so today I woke up about 10:00 a.m. or so and I urinated first and then took

the DMPS. So I will see how I feel throughout the day. I am really more worried about

it affecting my bladder which I hope it doesn't. I will let you know how I do on the test.

I have to urinate in the container for the next 6 hours. With all the urine I do in that time I

have to place some of it in a alhambra gallon container. Girls so far I don't feel so good.

I don't know if it's anxiety or hunger or the pill. I will keep up updated but I'm sure

I'll be o.k.

Lisa,

Please update us frequently on how you are doing. Was it DMPS and not DMSO or DMSA?

The only nuts which tested okay for me were walnuts, but truly I think all nuts are not so good recently. But I just need something else besides beef, turkey and veggies, and nuts have a lot of the good fats.

I WAS cheating with almond butter, and told Anna that and she said it wasn't such a bad cheat. My body may not like it, but at least it doesn't have mold issues, etc. If I have to cheat I guess it's better to do almond butter.

I also just saw my boss in the hallway...she was out sick yesterday too and asked what I had...we basically had the same thing--really bad D--so there MAY be something going around here too.

It could also be the supplements because so far today I'm okay. I had PB last night--same as every other day since Friday or so, so if it were that, you'd think I would be in the bathroom this morning again. Maybe it's the combination of PB, supplements and a bug, lol.

I hope that bad feeling passes quickly! Can you eat during the test? I know if I get too hungry I feel bad all over...that's one reason why I eat so often (which would be easier if I could eat more things, lol).

Donna--

This time of year, it could very well be a virus. Especially since your boss had it, too. Those things are so contageous.

Hope it's not the PB :D

So, almond butter dosen't have mold issues? That's good, as I now eat lots of it :P

Patti,

Have I told you have much I love my spring kitty. :D

Saved that one over too. :)

I think all nuts have some mold, but almonds are one of the lower ones I guess.

Me too. Love that new spring kitty, lol.

Love that new spring kitty, lol.

The funny thing is, I went out to photograph my daffodils to change up my avatar a little bit. Mark brough Allo out and set him in the garden--I was able to get 2 pictures before he ran back in the house.

I thought that one came out really good, so I used it. The little hambone got in the avatar again

My flowers do look nice, though....really :D

Yes, they accessorize Allo quite nicely.

Yes, I agree. Those flowers are very pretty with him.

I assume he's an indoor kitty. Watch out though, when we let our kitty out that looked similar to him she became more of an outdoor cat. Course, he's older....she was just about 6 mos - 1 year old.

jerseyangel Proficient

Andrea,

Yes, he's strictly an indoor cat. After Mark carried him out, he couldn't get back to the house fast enough!

He's also a scaredy cat

Ooooooh....I see Mango!!

Happy belated Birthday Meredith!!! :):)

I think I missed it yesterday??

I think Mango turned 26. :D

He's also a scaredy cat

Love the new pic....OMG soooo cute!! :)

My kitty is indoor too. He sometimes ventures out about two steps but then gets nervous and runs back in.

Happy, happy birthday, Mango! :D

I hope it was wonderful!!!!

How did I miss that

that or the :ph34r:peanut butter  I've been eating.

:o:o

Peanut Butter is evil. I dont like it anymore. :(

Well....ok  ...when I think of having it with some jelly on Wonderbread...then yeah...peanut butter....mmmm....yummy. :D

Donna...arent you sensitive to molds??? I thought you were??

For me peanut butter has probably been the worst thing....its been disastrous every time I tried it.

I'm really bad for molds though...remember...the only person worse then me was that really sick girl who came in from Canada. :(

So yeah...I'm the second worst now.

I had read that organic PB is more moldy than something like JIF. Also the most moldy peanut butter is the kind you make fresh....in the store. Whole Foods has that kind but I never tried it...Thank God. :o

I was trying to eat the organic stuff (before I found out they were worse) and OMG...one time I swear...everything like *exploded* inside of me.

I got horrible reflux on the spot and I thought my head might explode too. Not alot of things give me too much GI distress...but the peanut butter sure did.

I thought I might throw up....I dont ever throw up...but that peanut butter did me in. This was before BioSET so I didnt know for sure about the molds but I was kind of wondering after that happened. <_<

I think it could be the mold....you obviously dont get as severe a reaction as I get.....but I would think you would still get some "issues" from it.

I might be permanantly traumatized from my last peanut butter indulgence.

Rachel--24 Collaborator
I think all nuts have some mold, but almonds are one of the lower ones I guess.

Yeah...they all have mold. I cant have any of the nut butters....peanut butter is by far the worst though....then probably cashew butter. I used to get sick from almond butter too but it would take a day or so to start feeling it.

I tried nuts in the shell....out of the shell....organic...conventional...and yup...they all have mold. Walnuts are pretty bad too. :(

My face and tongue starts getting "prickly" feelings when I eat something moldy....so I pretty much know my "mold reaction" now. I can officially "detect" mold with one small sample. YAY for me...."Rachel...the official "Mold Buster".

I thought it was DMSO??

Hopefully everything went ok and you're feeling a little better....and now the test is behind you. One more thing out of the way. ;)

Keep us posted ok.

I feel blessed too. :)

Its kind of a "lonely" illness...cuz noone can really relate and we cant partake in all of the "normal" activities....like eating and drinking. :(

Its nice that we have the people who DO understand (and I'm grateful that my list of understanding people is longer than the other list :) ) and of course...the support from all you guys....that goes without saying.

I'm looking forward to hearing how things went with your Dr. :)

Off to BioSet now....

My gastroenterologist had me incorporate VSL#3 to help with similar issues. It can take a long time to heal. I also found adding kiwi to my diet was soothing to my stomach. For me, it was important to avoid other inflammatory foods. Dairy, corn, etc, were aggravating to my stomach. Bone broth has been another life saver for me over the years. I do know I continue to be sensitive. If I were to have dairy for two days in a row it would be like adding a log to a fire to my sensitive system. I do also have issues with acid reflux though. (Barrett's esophagus) I also stay up after eating. They say to for 3 hours but even 2 is helpful. Keep us posted on how you are. Hope you get some relief soon.

It’s not uncommon for people with celiac disease, especially those undiagnosed for a long time, to experience lasting digestive issues even after going gluten-free. The damage caused by years of inflammation in the small intestine can sometimes lead to other conditions like delayed gastric emptying (gastroparesis), acid reflux, or food intolerances. Staying upright after eating can help with digestion, particularly if reflux is an issue, as lying down can exacerbate symptoms. Greasy or fatty foods can be harder to digest, especially if your digestive system is still healing or if you’ve developed sensitivities. It’s important to discuss these ongoing symptoms with a gastroenterologist, as there might be additional treatments or dietary adjustments that could help. You’re definitely not alone in feeling like your stomach needs extra care, and hearing others’ experiences can be validating. One thing you should do is look at your diet again, and be sure that it is 100% gluten-free. Choline is a supplement that may help you with your symptoms, so consider this as well. Many people with celiac disease, especially those who are in the 0-2 year range of their recovery, have additional food intolerance issues which could be temporary. To figure this out you may need to keep a food diary and do an elimination diet over a few months. Some common food intolerance issues are dairy/casein, eggs, corn, oats, and soy. The good news is that after your gut heals (for most people who are 100% gluten-free this will take several months to two years) you may be able to slowly add some these items back into your diet after the damaged villi heal. Multiple times. Have had several emptying studies and endos that come back normal.
    • trents
Welcome to the forum, @RobHicks! Actually, celiac disease damages the upper part of the small bowel rather than the stomach. It's the part of the intestine right below the stomach. Since being diagnosed, have you had a follow-up endoscopy with biopsy to check to see if there is good healing in the small bowel lining since beginning the gluten free journey? You may have something else going on besides celiac disease. From what you describe, it sounds like your stomach is not emptying properly. Have you presented this problem to a GI doc?
    • TerryinCO
Still waiting.  The Barrett's I've had for 5-6 years. The possible/probable Celiac is new this year.  Not sure why that's popped up, but there it is.
