Thanks for all the mercury info Rachel. I've copied it all over......rather depressing in a way but much needed info.

Yes, it was all very interesting--and surprising to me just how many things mercury can affect.

Thanks for taking the time to post all of it, Rachel :)

Patti,

Now I see your new picture! I like it! :D

Patti,

Now I see your new picture! I like it! :D

Thanks--it's not as close up as the other one. Up until today, that last one was the only one of me that the system would take. All of a sudden today, I tried this one again and it went through

All of the old black and white ones went through with absolutely no problem. I wonder what's up with that?

I have a harder time with the personal pic--I wanted to put up the picture of Allo in the perrenial garden, and it keeps rejecting it.

DingoGirl Enthusiast

Yes, very cute picture Patti! :) Your hair looks quite sassy. ;)

Um, well, here I am, it's Friday night, and I am home, again.... what a piteous life.....I have a young friend who wants to go out later.....what time? I asked.....oh around 9:00 she said......ha ha ha ha ha.......I don't think so - - so I stay contentedly at home, chatting on phone adn writing to you guys....

am loving the extensive use of the word HEINOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would like to see more of SCATOLOGY, please.......did you guys know how much my GI loved me when, on my first visit, I said to him....."well, in my initial scatological studies, with flashlight, here's what things look like........." He did have a good laugh and I think he was out of his mind that i used the word.....

OMG guess what else - - I called my recent former boss today, becuase I was just so not happy with the way things ended (and I turned in an application at Z Gallerie) ...it's been very disturbing to me. So, she could not have been nicer, of course. And said, I understand, I think you were just about to explode. True that, I said. And I told her, but you know, I had planned to get you through another back-to-school (when the students from both colleges start back in the fall), and leave with everyone happy......and I told her that I am just so sorry that I left in the way I did, and was she REALLY serious that I could use her as a reference (she'd sent me a note indicating same)? she said, indeed I could, and then she asked if I would help out in August/September if I wasn't working......I said, of course (and I would - it's short-term - but pray to GOD I am working by then  ).....at which point I cleverly asked, well then, shall I say on my resume and applications that I am working on an on-call basis? ;) She said, absolutely......

so that was all pretty good news, actually. :)

I got nothin' else. harrumph! Can't even remember what I wanted to say or reply to.......dingo'd it all.

jerseyangel Proficient

Thanks Susie :D

That's so great that you two got to talk it all out. The on-call thing will look very impressive on your resume, and it's just nice to have a good closure.

I know what you mean about going out at 9PM--that's about the time I'm usually headed upstairs. :P

Speaking of which....good night all :)

CarlaB Enthusiast
Carla, this might help with your nausea, sure does it for me: DGL, a form of licorice. You swish it in your mouth first as saliva activates it. I got some powder from Beyond a Century which is pure, 1/4 tsp at a time. Very soothing to the stomach.

Thank you, I'll have to look for it. Does Wild Oats carry that kind of thing?

Susan, I'm glad you got that closure.

I remember in college when we'd hop in the shower at 9 or 10 to get ready to go out ... now, if we go to the movies, it's always the 7 or 8 PM show ... I NEVER go to a 9 or 10 PM show. It's not that I go to bed early, but I'm relaxing at night ... usually it's 11-11:30 when I go to bed, and I sleep till 7-9, whenever I wake up.

I know they say before midnight and you get better quality sleep, but I wonder if you're just really consistent with bed time and wake up time if that gives the same result. My kids go to bed at 9 ... I need the wind down time.

I told Adam about "scatology" ... he said he might use that word to describe studying the competition! He also wondered if any of you had ever seen ratemypoo.com ... I assured him that no matter what's there, we've all seen worse! He said no way.

I actually did pretty well today ... Adam came home from work at lunch time (that's when he got hit) and made me work out, then we took Morgan to Maggiano's for a late birthday lunch, then I drove kids around (and bought B. a new hamster, hers died yesterday :( ), then I've been home resting. But, I didn't spend the whole day in bed.

I have read that Lyme symptoms flare during a full-moon. Maybe that's why so many of us are feeling bad today.

Great picture, Patti.

Guess what!!

I'm ordering a FIR sauna. :D

I'm not getting an expensive one...its on sale for $300 and should fit my needs for now since I'm traveling back and forth. Its folds up...totally portable and I'll be able to do ease my way into it since its gonna be available for me to use whenever I want. I'll start with 5 minutes a few times a week.

Eventually when I'm no longer staying at my moms...I want to get a nice one that will look attractive in my house. I'll probably use saunas forever since everyone can benefit from sauna...even with no known health issues. Since my liver wont be perfect ever again...it'll be good to keep using the saunas and detoxing through sweat.

-------------------------------------------

I have my appt with Dr. Amy on Sunday the 10th.....we'll be doing ART. :)

I have an appt. with Anna on the 13th

Then I have an appt. with Dr. S. the following week (forget the day).

I decided that for privacy reasons I'm not gonna post such detailed accounts of my appts. like I have in the past. Especially now that I'm getting involved in treatment and such.....I just dont want every personal detail online anymore.

I'm still gonna have all the details but I'll do it in email instead of on the thread. Of course whoever is interested can get an email. :)

The only email address I'm 100% sure I have is Andrea's...anyone else can PM me their email address so I can make a list and I'll just send everyone the same email...like what Carla did after her first LLMD appt.

I'm sure I have other email addresses but I'm not the most organized so it would be easier to just start fresh. :)

It will also save some board space I'm sure. :P

hey rachel

thank you for the post! omg my family is having chinese food and talk about vaginal discharge and salty taste up the butt. yuck. so I went to whole foods got some more AVACADO, and chlorella, magnesium caps, and vitamin c powder with some stuff in it. hope I can tolerate it. I wont take them all at the same time. That post on mercury, I was always wondering if sennokot, or casacara laxatives were safe to use. i need something. I did the whole flax seed this time but I need something stronger. I don't think I could do the sauna thing or the iv thing. I want to but just to much for me. I hope that taking charcoal and being constipated isn't making me worse. I took the flax seed yesterday and saw it in my stool so I think things are moving o.k. Whole foods doesn't carry cilantro drops. ok by everyone

CarlaB Enthusiast

Rachel, CONGRATS ON THE SAUNA!!! My LLMD told Adam he should be using it 30 minutes per day. He said it's good for everyone. I agree, I'll always use mine ... it's killing me waiting for the replacement panel ... it's been two weeks since I've used it! I had a fever all last week, so couldn't ... when my temperature lowered, I discovered the problem with the panel.

I don't blame you for editing the info for the board. If you notice, I never give the full list of what I'm on. I'm happy to in a PM. I tell more about the follow up appts. because there's not as much done and I think it's important to our lurkers to hear about all the testing, etc. but I keep it private what I'm taking.

I also do it to protect my LLMD. It's pretty clear if you know who the LLMD's are who I'm seeing just by my talking about NYC.

Dear Everybody,

Well, I too, have had a HEINOUS day!:( First, although we had some WEATHAH!, we lost power for a while. When it was sunny! The thing is, we always lose power whenever it is not even doing anything! How stupid is that?

Then, my mother gets home and is having a psycho menopause day. Naturally, she yells at me because the dog got into the trash while I was outside. She was complaining that I should close the bathroom door. I am the one that should be upset, he was chewing my undies again! :o She then commanded me to go collect the trash, and I said no.

She was rude to me. She then said "What goes around, comes around and just wait and see!" I am not the one with the bad karma. She deserves what she gets! Her bad energy can ruin anything. I am perfectly happy, and then she comes home. Just having her around puts me in a bad mood.

Dear Mia and Donna,

I am glad you got to paint your nails, too! Watermelon is a pretty color, and so is Lime Green! I love make-up, but now that my mother is in a tantrum because she is self-centered, I probably will not be getting any. God I hate this people. I will probably have to find someone else to do my hair, too. Oh well! I will just have to have someone trim it. Dad will have to take me out somewhere I guess. I dye it myself.

Dear Mia, Donna, Carla, Laura and Bev,

I know how you guys have been feeling all too well! :( Maybe we will all have a better day soon. This herx and flare stuff is no fun! Plus, taking all of this stuff might have just been too much at once for your body. Rest is the best thing.

Dear Laura,

Thank you for the article link! I am glad you found that. It is important to keep some archives on this. We can help more people with the exposure it is finally getting. Is that a sign or what? All of the sudden, since I started thinking Lyme was my trouble, all of these articles and stuff have popped up!

Dear Carla,

ROFLMAO!:P Your husband and that car are so funny! He has already gotten it scratched up like that and has not even had it too long! He better never make comments about women driving! I can just see Adam in that BMW! It is so funny you said he is not cool enough for a Corvette!

Dear Susie,

Annie is so pretty! She has the sweet smile. They always do that when the do something wrong! They look at you like "look at me, I am cute!" You cannot help but melt, either! They know that, too!

I agree that Scatology should be used more. We need to add it to things. I like it! We can use the word all the time!

It can fit in somewhere!

Dear Susie, Bev, Rachel, Carla, Donna, and Patti,

I like the slapping customers thing, too! That guy was such an a**cracker! We used to have customers like that sometimes at Taco Bell. They would come in and complain about getting a wrong order and expect us to take the Tacos back after four hours! :o What can we do with the food then?

I also had some really strange orders. I think the weirdest order I ever took was someone asking for a Chicken Taco Supreme without the chicken. People expect some extreme things. That customer is always right crap is wrong. Some people are just jerks!

Dear Bev,

I think your new doctor sounds great! This one seems to have half a clue. There is a first! Write this date down in history! Me like, too! ;)

Dear Lisa,

Fire your G.I. doc now! He is an a**cracker! What a moron! I went to a G.I. doc that accused me of being anorexic as well. Forget that! You need to find someone who will help you!

I believe you have Leaky-Gut, too. As Rachel pointed out, the mercury is a real problem. It causes numerous issues throughout the body. It is not isolated to just one organ or location. Blood circulates all over the place. Due to this, the mercury being in the blood makes it go everywhere!

Dear Rachel,

Thank you for all of the scientificness! I was wondering about some of the mercury cleansing. I now have it in a file.

That way, I can access it whenever I need to! No more hunting!

I agree with the others, that Lyme is likely for your co-worker's wife. I know seizures are a possibility and paralysis with Lyme. Actress Jamie Lynn-Sigler (Meadow on the Sopranos) became paralyzed temporarily due to it. I think she contracted it in 2003. Luckily, she was treated right away.

Dear mftnchn,

It is nice to see you! I assume you have been quite busy! We were wondering where you have been! Thank you for the info about the nausea remedy. I really need that as well! It is probably my worst symptom. I can deal with the others better.

Dear Andrea,

You said earlier your hubby had not eaten in 20 hours? How can anyone go so long without food? Why has he not eaten? I would die! I have to eat regularly!

I am sorry your daughter is still driving you nuts. I know the feeling. I live with two impossible people that are like big, irritating toddlers. Only toddlers can go to "Grandma's" once in a while, you know? You mentioned that T tends to be moody when she has been to her grandmother's. I wonder why. Is there something she is being exposed to there that could do it?

Dear Judy,

We love you, too! Do not worry. Your post was fine! We could read it! I like how you posted your thought in red! This forum has been kind of weird lately. It either will not let you download your pic, or it has problems with the board.

Dear Patti,

I love your new avatar! You are so pretty! This one is very nice! You are smiling a bit more, too. That makes a difference.

Dear Donna,

I did soak the pans before scrubbing. That helped tremendously. The Power Disolver made it much easier! Plus, I used a Brillo Pad to get the stuck pieces. Overall, the cookware is a big blessing, even if it requires a bit of elbow grease!

Sincerely,

Jin

Is it the full moon? maybe that's why I'm feeling a bit hyper?

Rachel - good news about the sauna! Although, I CANNOT imagine why anyone would want to do that to themselves.... I LOATHE the heat - - would simply never subject myself to it if I didn't have to......which reminds me......did I ever tell you guys about my trip to Montana in the dead of winter, adn how we were snowed in the entire week (no shower for five days until we skiied five miles away to the next cabin)? and how I got the name Squats With Wolves????? ha ha - - - maybe later. but there was nekkid sauna-ing involved, no one had any modesty, and I didn't either, and then we did dive naked into the snow after.....now THAT was something I'd do again! But the temp was between minus 10 degrees to just over 8 degrees the whole time.....I was COOOOOOOOOOOLD!

also good to not post the appointments. Stalkers, ya know. ;) People who want to see her royal visored President in person. ha ha!

and YES, we MUST try to find ways to use SCATOLOGY or SCATOLOGICAL as much as possible!!

Well, since I know rest is one of the most essential parts to healing Lyme, I no longer feel guilty. Truthfully, I usually wake up now about 7:30 ... just on my own without an alarm ... if I don't wake up, which hasn't happened in a couple weeks, my daughter wakes me up at 8:36 to watch her catch the bus.

DEFINITELY do not go to the poop site.....but it did remind me of the most heinously funny scatological story, years ago, involving taking my niece home, having the IMMEDIATE need to go, being locked out of her house, and squatting in the back yard......had to pick it up with an empty potato chip bag rummaged from the trash....there are more details but I"ll leave it at that.......but we were just knocked out and stomach-cramped from laughing our arses off, let me tell you! (evidently there IS TMI for this thread!)

Carla - if I had Lyme, I would sleep in until whenever I felt like it. In the year before I was diagnosed Celiac, I slept 16 hours a day, quite often (and then had to be somewhat evasive to my boyfriend about what I'd done that day....)

I do usually spend more time in bed than that ... but I wake up about 7:30. Today I stayed in bed, then ate about 10 (took other meds that don't require food earlier), went back to bed, and Adam came home from work and made me go to the gym ... otherwise I'd have never gotten up!!

I have so many meds ... this has to be taken an hour before that, OR two hours after ... the other has to be two hours away ... another an hour ... holy cow, I have to stay up till 11 just to take them all!! Right now I'm waiting till 11:30 for my final round! I even take the Questran in the middle of the night when I wake up (if I wake up, sometimes I sleep through), doc wants me to take it twice per day, but I just can't fit it all in.

It IS a full time job. If I leave the house, it throws the whole day off if it's at the wrong time in the schedule!

Living alone ... what an odd concept. ;)

I haven't worked full time since Morgan was born, or part time since I got pregnant with Luke ... she's 19, he's 17!

Do the skin care products that give you a rash list wheat as an ingredient or are you assuming from your reaction that they contain gluten? It is possible that not only do you have celiac disease, which is not an allergy but an autoimmune disorder, but that you also have a wheat allergy.
    • allis
Thank you, I’m very happy to be here!! Yes, lately I get rashes and itching when I accidentally use topical skin products with gluten in them. I got a bad rash around my hairline after unknowingly using glutenous hairspray, and a near-full-body rash with a sea salt spray that I guess I rinsed off insufficiently in the shower. Neither looked like typical dermatitis herpetiformis to me based on the posts I’ve read here—both were just large patches, red and slightly raised, with no blisters to speak of. At least yet. The sea salt spray was used yesterday and I noticed the itching this morning, with the rash forming obviously by this afternoon and evening.
    • Sarah Marie
Thanks so much for your thorough reply! I was able to schedule with the local pediatric gastroenterologist who specializes in celiac but we have to wait 3 months to see her.
    • trents
Sorry, meant to type "or dermatitis herpetiformis for short". What? Every time I try it, the abbreviation for this skin condition is converted to the full length term. I'm trying to type "D" followed by "H".
    • trents
Welcome to the forum, allis! By "skin response to gluten products" are you saying you develop a rash when you use lotions, creams, shampoos, etc. that contain gluten? One of the classical symptoms of celiac disease is a skin rash known as dermatitis herpetiformis or "dermatitis herpetiformis" for short. Celiac disease is the only known cause for dermatitis herpetiformis. It has a distinct appearance. It has little blisters or pustules in the bumps. Does this sound like what you experience? Is so, it might be possible to get a punch biopsy done when you are having an outbreak. This would be an alternative to eating gluten. If your skin biopsy was positive for dermatitis herpetiformis you could be diagnosed with celiac disease on that basis alone. Apart from that, I know of no other way to get a diagnosis apart from returning to eating gluten for a period of weeks.
