JIN - - - You are killing me!!!!:lol::lol: You are just a nutty, sweet, funny girl. :) I have to ask, because I was on sabbatical from Rville when you came in, first, how old are you, and second, what are you studying in school? are you in college?

and YES, we MUST try to find ways to use SCATOLOGY or SCATOLOGICAL as much as possible!!

:)

Dear Susie,

Thank you for the compliments! I am 24. I am about to obtain my Associate's degree in Management. Teamwork - everyone else doing what I say! I attend Kaplan University Online. I want to go for a Bachelor's because I need it to go to law school. At this point, affordability does not make it look possible.

I agree that Scatology should be used all the time. Scatological studies could be part of the curriculum at Rachelville U! We can have all kinds of fun things about that. I do not think I will go to the poo rating site. That is more than I could handle, I think! I have enough crap to deal with on a daily basis! Speaking of, I loved the sauna and scatological emergency stories! Oh, and what Lisa meant was that her teeth caused all her problems because it was the mercury that set it off.

Dear Bev,

I need to join Rachelers Anonymous, too! I racheled six chocolate chip cookies today! I did not eat them all at once, though. Besides, in all fairness, I was justified. I had not had chocolate chip cookies in over eight months!

Dear Lisa,

I can relate to the pain down below! I can hardly sit down sometimes it hurts so much! There is not much I can do, though. I have cream, but it is systemic. Until the systemic problem is eliminated, that will stick around, too.

I know the sweat can be a major issue, too. It is for me. I turn my clothes brown or yellow from it. My sweat under my arms smells like garlic and onion. My feet often smell like vinegar. It must be a Candida thing.

Sincerely,

Jin

Well then we'll meet at some Starbucks in between and I'll drink coffee and you can drink water. :)

I am signing off, goodnight to you, and to all.

I have a harder time with the personal pic--I wanted to put up the picture of Allo in the perrenial garden, and it keeps rejecting it.

Hopefully you'll be able to get it to go through. I love my Allo kitty. :D

she asked if I would help out in August/September if I wasn't working......I said, of course (and I would - it's short-term - but pray to GOD I am working by then  ).....at which point I cleverly asked, well then, shall I say on my resume and applications that I am working on an on-call basis? ;) She said, absolutely......

That's great news Susan and will likely come in quite handy. :D

I'm ordering a FIR sauna. :D

Yay!!!

I have an appt. with Anna on the 13th

Was wondering when you'd be going in again.

I'm still gonna have all the details but I'll do it in email instead of on the thread. Of course whoever is interested can get an email. :)

Sounds like a good plan. :)

I don't blame you for editing the info for the board. If you notice, I never give the full list of what I'm on. I'm happy to in a PM. I tell more about the follow up appts. because there's not as much done and I think it's important to our lurkers to hear about all the testing, etc.

Keep me on your list too Carla. :D

Then, my mother gets home and is having a psycho menopause day. Naturally, she yells at me because the dog got into the trash while I was outside. She was complaining that I should close the bathroom door. I am the one that should be upset, he was chewing my undies again! :o She then commanded me to go collect the trash, and I said no.

Now I know what the problem is......

my daughter must be going through menopause!

You said earlier your hubby had not eaten in 20 hours? How can anyone go so long without food? Why has he not eaten? I would die! I have to eat regularly!

He got stuck a few hours from here last night. We don't pack extra food for him unless we know in advance he won't make it home. I went 20 hours without eating as well....I had too much to do this morning. If I only eat two meals than I'll typically go 18 hours anyway. Some days I'm starving though and can't do that.

You mentioned that T tends to be moody when she has been to her grandmother's. I wonder why. Is there something she is being exposed to there that could do it?

Nothing she's being exposed to but having her grandmother wrapped around her finger. Micah doesn't get much attention and Seth doesn't either.

......did I ever tell you guys about my trip to Montana in the dead of winter, adn how we were snowed in the entire week (no shower for five days until we skiied five miles away to the next cabin)? and how I got the name Squats With Wolves????? ha ha - - - maybe later.

You mentioned that last summer but I don't remember if it was on this thread or a different one. There are a lot of new people in Rachelville though who would have no idea what you are talking about. :P

Rachel hi me again,

when you are detoxing are you more sensitives to things. Lately I have been real sensitive. It must be the charcoal, you think?

Dear Andrea,

Yep! That is the trouble! Your daughter is going through menopause! It is more like Psychopause! My mother is so nuts! Then, she will walk in the room a few minutes later like nothing ever happened. Meanwhile, she then cannot figure out why I am still ticked.

I do not know how you guys went so long without food. Your poor hubby was trapped! That is awful! I get low blood sugar, so I have to eat about once every four hours. Otherwise, I start getting dizzy and all kinds of stuff.

That is terrible that T gets attention, but the other children do not. This reminds me of my best friend's grandmother.

She ignored all of the grandchildren and her children except for the one son and his family. I have no clue why. Her grandmother is very cold. I really feel sorry for her family.

Dear Lisa,

Sometimes I have trouble emptying my bladder. When I have problems with that, I drink cranberry juice. Just one glass a day seems to help a lot. I sometimes have to go more frequently than I used to. It also depends on what I drank. When I sip coffee, I have to go more, but if you sip anything, it makes you have to go more. I have to sip, though. I cannot handle a lot of food or liquid at once. It will make me sick.

Sincerely,

Jin

I remember in college when we'd hop in the shower at 9 or 10 to get ready to go out ... now, if we go to the movies, it's always the 7 or 8 PM show ... I NEVER go to a 9 or 10 PM show.

When I used to go out dancing it was never before 10...sometimes I'd go out closer to midnight. Seems almost strange to me now.

I still go to late shows...the last two movies I went to both started past 10. I think Disturbia started at 10:20. I've always been more of a night owl...I pretty much hate the mornings. I always feel worse in the mornings. I feel better at night.

I think as far as that goes....I'm the opposite of most everyone here.

Rachel - good news about the sauna! Although, I CANNOT imagine why anyone would want to do that to themselves....

I cant wait!! :D:D

I could totally rachel the heck out of the sauna....but I wont....the Dr. said only 5 minutes...and thats all I'm gonna do. ;)

Noone will EVER see me jumping nekkid into SNOW.

That seems tortuous...cant see the fun in it at all.

Is Fresno hotter than Manteca??

I havent noticed the heat yet....still wearing pants most of the time.

I'm still waiting for the heat.

DEFINITELY do not go to the poop site.....

You dont have to tell me twice....I aint going there. ;)

I saw more than enough "poop pictures" during my time spent on curezone. This place sounds even worse.

only thing, I can only drink water and eat chicken soup.

Yeah...me and Lisa could totally hang out....I can only drink water and eat beef and peas...or asparagus and chicken.

Rachel hi me again,

when you are detoxing are you more sensitives to things. Lately I have been real sensitive. It must be the charcoal, you think?

Yes...detoxing does make you more sensitive. When I first stopped eating processed foods, sugar etc.. and went to a totally strict candida diet....OMG...I became UNBELIEVABLY sensitive. I was reacting to all foods, all chemicals....everything in my own house was suddenly causing me to react. I could smell chemicals in everything!

It was only that bad for a few days....then it calmed down some. I think thats when I was the most scared though...at the time I didnt realize that I was detoxing.

When you detox you can go through a "healing crisis".

Also known as the "Herxheimer Reaction", this reaction occurs when the body tries to eliminate toxins at a faster rate than they can be properly disposed of. The more toxic one's bodily systems are, the more severe the detoxification, or healing crisis.

It is characterized by a temporary increase in symptoms during the cleansing or detox process which may be mild or severe. You may feel worse and therefore conclude that the treatment is not working. But these reactions are instead signs that the treatment is working and that your body is going through the process of cleaning itself of impurities, toxins and imbalances.

The healing crisis is the result of every body-system, in concert, working to eliminate waste products through all elimination channels and set the stage for regeneration. The end result: old tissues are replaced with new.

When any treatment or cleansing program causes a large scale die-off of bacteria, a significant amount of endotoxins (toxins within the bacteria itself) are released into the body. The more bacteria present, and the stronger their endotoxins, the stronger the cleansing reaction.

When any treatment or detox causes the organs of the body (particularly the liver, which is a storehouse of drug and poison residues) to release their stored poisons and toxins, a cleansing reaction may occur.

Any program, such as fasting, which causes a rapid breakdown of fat cells (which are a storehouse for toxins), can cause a healing crisis as toxins previously lodged in the fat cells are released into the blood stream.

Well it seems like everyone is having a rough time right now- Hopefully we will all rebound well this week.

Rinne-

its so funny I posted we had the same taste in food and then you mentioned smoked salmon which is another of my favorite foods and thankfully on eof the foods I can still eat- althoug only from one place where there are no additives etc.

Jin-

if you have a bad candida problem - choclate chip cookies is not a good move!!! Same with the cocoa crispies you've mentioned!!

Rachel-

Thanks for all the mercury info.

Speaking of carrots its weird I cannot tolerate raw carrots but I do have alittle carrot juice everyday and find it incredibly soothing!! As long as I don't over do it it seems to be one of the things that actually helps me.

I had a chiropractor appt. Yesturday - he could feel my body had gone backwards alittle bit- it had started to loosen up alot but due to al the stress its been under he said he could feel things where very tight .

I have a bunch of appts. this week. Mon- my reg. doc. tues- chiropractor. WEds and appt at my health center . Thurs- I am going in for a mayan abdominal massage. it will be a busy week.

BEV - weathah! OMG I am so jealous.....my excitement here is that it was supposed to be 100 tomorrow  (now WHY do I live here?) and is now only supposed to be 92 or 93....that is a bit more decent.....

But anywho as I am reading about your ISH-EWZZZZZZZZZZ - - I am wondering if this is a shellfish reaction? sounds like it - and you did have shrimp and scallops - - do they normally agree with you? just a thought.....

two more pages to go. :)

You know- I was wondering the same thing after you guys mentioned it. I don't think I've ever had a problem before tho. Oh boy will I be sad if shellfish go too :( I could eat shellfish every day of my life and get tired of it!

Rachel- Yeah on the sauna. I just sent you my email to add to your update list. Could you email me a link to the one you got? That's so great!!!!!!!!!

SusieQ- I'm glad you got that closure with your boss too. It settles the stress. Hope you get a job at Z gallerie- that place is cool! Don't worry- you weren't the only one home last night.

Carla- Gglad you're feeling better. About Lyme symptoms flaring during a full moon, I'm not surprised. A lot of things do (tempers, murders :P and psychaitric hospitals are always busier during this time). I think that earth (or the moon) has a much bigger effect on us than many realize.

Susie- ratemypoo.com is so heinously funny. You could do a dissertation on SCATOLOGICAL events on that website alone. Holy Crap! And you said va-jay-jay again

SQUATS WITH WOLVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    I did a 7 week camping trip cross country with 50 kids and 6 counselors and earned the name "Farts like Machine" (prior to celiac diagnosis).

Mia- Good luck with all your appointments. I know it's been so rough for you lately.

I want to check out Mayan ab massage (but would prefer to have it done while vactaioning in Los cabos with the sea lapping at my toes!). God I want to vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jin- Sorry you had a bad day, but my God woman you are funny. If nothing else came out of your day it was that you had me ROTFLMAO with "A** CRACKER" That's going to be my new word!

       to all!

I almost always feel better in the am. By night time I'm my worst

CarlaB Enthusiast

I feel worse in the AM. I have no idea why. Yesterday, only because Adam made me get up, I felt a little better (that's not saying much though). But then by evening I felt bad again. I think it must be due to new meds or my herx. Maybe my herxes are a little lighter since my bacterial load has to be getting lower ... we'll see ... herx is due today, but maybe it started yesterday. It's hard to tell since I've been sick for the past 10 days or so.

But I ALWAYS have trouble in the morning. Yesterday I felt about 40% later in the day, but even on days I feel 60%, I always start out bad in the morning. I take the clue from my body and just stay in bed ... maybe it's just a signal I need to rest at that time. Thank goodness for laptops!

Andrea, I haven't sent out an email since my first appt. I've told you guys everything on the thread ... there just wasn't a lot of new stuff, so it wasn't info I felt needed to be kept private.

However, I only mention here that he changed X medicine to Y medicine ... I don't give my whole medicine list. I'm happy to give it to those who PM me, but I don't want to mention it here. I mention it more freely on LN, only because I don't have my picture and my name on that site. ;) If I send out an email after my 9/11 appt. I'll ask for everyone's email address again.

Bev, I started reacting to shellfish a few years ago. My lymph nodes would swell and hurt, even from a couple shrimp. I think it's because the shellfish are so full of junk and my system was so overloaded anyway. When we were in Phoenix, we were out at a business dinner ... they ordered a lobster appetizer that had gluten, so I thought I'd get out of eating it because of that.

But it was a fancy shmancy restaurant, and they divided the appetizer between us all leaving the gluten out of mine. We had unbelievable service at that restaurant ... the vendor paying the bill said the service was great, but the way they went above and beyond to accomodate me was amazing, and it was.

Anyway, I had no reaction at all to the lobster ... but I did get in trouble the next day when Adam found out I ate it!! LOL

Here's a sentence for ya... My heinous day at work was pure scatology! It started with the rachelling of my lays and the carlaing of my broccoli! :P

Oh good gracious...when I used to go out dancing we'd often start out at around 10, but I can hardly stay up past 9:00 anymore.

Rachel - good idea on not posting too much stuff here. I'll PM you my email address as soon as I'm done here. Congrats on the sauna!!! I want one eventually too, but have to wait a bit on it...once all my appointments die down I may be able to swing it, but have to pay down some credit cards first. :(

which reminds me......did I ever tell you guys about my trip to Montana in the dead of winter, adn how we were snowed in the entire week (no shower for five days until we skiied five miles away to the next cabin)? and how I got the name Squats With Wolves????? ha ha - - - maybe later. but there was nekkid sauna-ing involved, no one had any modesty, and I didn't either, and then we did dive naked into the snow after.....now THAT was something I'd do again! But the temp was between minus 10 degrees to just over 8 degrees the whole time.....I was COOOOOOOOOOOLD!

 funny, funny story.

Keep me on your list too Carla.

1. How may of us feel worse in the am?

2. Why do you think that is?

Well, I have a little of both, lol. My die off type symptoms are definitely worse in the AM but I have much more energy in the earlier part of the day. I can't get up at 3:30 a.m. and work out anymore like I used to, but overall I still have more energy (which isn't much) in the later mornings. Gosh a couple of years ago, even in the midst of my worst sinus infection cycle I could get up at 3:30 and do a really intense cardio hour long session! I can hardly get out of bed now.

Afternoon are getting better energy wise for me too now, but I still can't function past 7 or 8 at night.

Oh, I see, Racheling applies to good foods but Carlaing applies to gross ones. <_< That's not how it's supposed to work! Carlaing is supposed to be when you show restraint, not when you just don't like something!

:lol: That is so funny! I've found that the first bite of something is always the best ... so, back when I actually ate sugar, sometimes I would get ONE SPOONFUL of ice cream and eat it. That's all.

I mean, other times I'd eat the whole pint! ;) But it was just as common to just eat one spoonful.

Rachel--24 Collaborator

Bev,

I'm worse in the morning...I get better as the day goes by. I dont get worse during the day or at night unless something provokes symptoms. If I get exposed to too much chemicals or eat something my body doesnt like....then I might feel worse for awhile but it usually goes away.

I dont ever bounce out of bed feeling great though. I did a couple years ago when I was on the candida diet and had detoxed quite a bit...I was full of energy...even in the morning.

I feel better in the mornings. I don't have the joint pain that a lot of you have--my problems all seem to revolve around my digestive system.

I try and make all appointments in the morning, that way I can eat a banana and go. I avoid eating much more than that before going out as much as possible. After lunch, it's pretty much a crap-shoot ( :D get it?) as to how I'll be the rest of the day.

I also have fatigue and some muscle aches that set in mid afternoon, no matter what. So, one vote for mornings :)

Rachel--I'll PM you my email address. I, too, think you're being wise by not putting it all out on the internet. ;)

My main issue in the morning is fatigue. My muscles ache, but they ache all day on achey days ... it's the fatigue I can't overcome.

I generally feel bad after I eat, but I'm finding the Questran is starting to help. If I didn't have to eat for my meds ... four times per day ... I'd never eat unless someone made me. If I don't eat enough, the meds make me nauseous.

I dont really have much joint pain..my problems are mostly the sensitivities to everything. I guess alot of its digestive...I dont get "d" or cramps much but I do react to almost every meal. After I eat I'll start getting some "allergic" type symtpoms...and I usually get bloated.

Its all soooo FUN!!

I react to stuff all day long...stuff in the air, in the food, chemicals, car exhaust, perfumes, invisible stuff...its just endless.

In the mornings my head feels fuller...I'm more puffy and cold, usually pretty fatigued and I'm more brain-fogged. I'm sure it could be from bedding, dust mites...more allergy stuff...while I'm sleeping.

It was worse when the heater was being used.

Uusally if I wake up stiff or achey....its because I ate something bad.

Bev....I forgot to tell you...I hallucinate smells too! I think its usually something that had overwhelmed my system earlier in the day....usually a perfume. It might just "reappear" very strongly later in the day...or even the next day.

Ok...I've almost been up 24 hrs. Maybe I should go to bed now. :P

I didnt sleep before going to work...I went in at 1am...I didnt work a full shift...I left at 7. I'm still feeling OK.

I used to get so messed up if I didnt sleep... I've been doing better in this area for some reason. :)

Do the skin care products that give you a rash list wheat as an ingredient or are you assuming from your reaction that they contain gluten? It is possible that not only do you have celiac disease, which is not an allergy but an autoimmune disorder, but that you also have a wheat allergy.
    • allis
Thank you, I’m very happy to be here!! Yes, lately I get rashes and itching when I accidentally use topical skin products with gluten in them. I got a bad rash around my hairline after unknowingly using glutenous hairspray, and a near-full-body rash with a sea salt spray that I guess I rinsed off insufficiently in the shower. Neither looked like typical dermatitis herpetiformis to me based on the posts I’ve read here—both were just large patches, red and slightly raised, with no blisters to speak of. At least yet. The sea salt spray was used yesterday and I noticed the itching this morning, with the rash forming obviously by this afternoon and evening.
    • Sarah Marie
Thanks so much for your thorough reply! I was able to schedule with the local pediatric gastroenterologist who specializes in celiac but we have to wait 3 months to see her.
    • trents
Sorry, meant to type "or dermatitis herpetiformis for short". What? Every time I try it, the abbreviation for this skin condition is converted to the full length term. I'm trying to type "D" followed by "H".
    • trents
Welcome to the forum, allis! By "skin response to gluten products" are you saying you develop a rash when you use lotions, creams, shampoos, etc. that contain gluten? One of the classical symptoms of celiac disease is a skin rash known as dermatitis herpetiformis or "dermatitis herpetiformis" for short. Celiac disease is the only known cause for dermatitis herpetiformis. It has a distinct appearance. It has little blisters or pustules in the bumps. Does this sound like what you experience? Is so, it might be possible to get a punch biopsy done when you are having an outbreak. This would be an alternative to eating gluten. If your skin biopsy was positive for dermatitis herpetiformis you could be diagnosed with celiac disease on that basis alone. Apart from that, I know of no other way to get a diagnosis apart from returning to eating gluten for a period of weeks.
