Happy 4th of July everyone! Hope everyone can enjoy the day as best as possible.

For the third year in a row, I will be going to a parade. This isn't just any parade, lol. Every year the members of one neighborhood get together and have a parade. They close off the streets and the whole neighborhood has a parade...with floats and all!! It's really fun. One of the families in our church opens their home (it's on the parade route)...one of my good friends invited me two years ago...once you're in, you're in for life. So, even if my friend doesn't go, they say I can come. Anyway, they have a huge backyard, and lots of the church shows up each year and there is lots of fun and eating.

My friend explained my situation this year (last year didn't know half of what was wrong with me, so just avoided gluten), so the hostess is worried about the food situation...sheesh, my own mother won't feed me anymore...surely don't expect someone who doesn't know me well to feed me. I'll take my egg salad and some evil cashews. :P That will tide me over til I can get home to my ribeye!

I looked into Rolfing a few years ago, but never followed up on it...I know at that time there were a few practitioners in our area. Sounded like something very, very beneficial. Hum, still may have to look into that for my neck.

Dr. S is also my doctor and I would recommend him highly! Like Rachel said, he will proceed slowly. I'm not nearly as toxic as Rachel is, but I am toxic enough that he is not rushing into anything (so as not to push me more to the toxic side). He will check for EVERYTHING, not just concentrate on mercury or lyme. I like that about him. I think in order to make us well, he (or any doctor) has to have the whole picture. Once they know exactly what all they are facing they can proceed with the best and safest treatments.

Anyway, Dr. S ran all sorts of testing on me...lyme, metals, mold, vitamins, elements, thyroid antibodies, etc, etc. He will make recommendations on what you can do in your environment, etc.

I also see the BioSET practitioner that Rachel sees and again, I recommend them highly! They were really helpful in figuring out WHAT I could take and how much and the testing was very accurate in all regards except for Lyme for me. The lyme issue wasn't found by BioSET because my body does not have a sensitivity to it.

I also see Scott for my ART sessions every couple of months.

Wow, very interesting indeed. I see myself in so much of that. :( I wonder if I can listen to it at home with my dial-up...will it keep spooling?!? I'll try later after the parade.

Happy 4th everyone!!!

My daughter and her husband are here from Mo. with their 2 kids. I have not seen them in about a year, I am so excited since been on the gluten-free diet am doing so much better. So nice to wake up in the morning not vomiting. Still having some problems with cc but guess I will get better at this as time goes by. Going to BBQ today with kids, I know I will have to bring my own food. BBQ is at husband's family so hope nobody gets feelings hurt by not eating their food. ANYHOO hope everyone has a wonderful day and can enjoy the holiday. :D

Have a good time at your respective parties today Donna and Barbara!

Yeah...they dont allow fragrances....

Reminded me of how much I hated alleged Stanford "celiac expert" Dr. Gary "jackass" Gray. <there . . . . . I said it>

Head of Gastro @Stanford, medical advisor to celiac.org, etc etc, and I think all patients are celiacs, so highly likely most or many Gluten-free Casein-free. But the dumbass doesn't know better than to have a "non-dairy"(HA!) creamer, in waiting room, which has CASEIN IN IT!!!!!!

Relatively minor point for all the jackass-ian things he did & said, but just soooooooo basically moronic.

Lisa,

Dont wrap your food in aluminum foil. You're already toxic from heavy metals...dont want to add more to it.

Omg LOL oops!!!!

I dingo'd on the situation!

I immediately and quickly defer to Rachel on this.

Hmmmm and maybe get rid of post saying use foil?

NoGluGirl Contributor

Dear Rachel,

That really is an awful reaction to flouride! I do not think I react that way to it. However, I am not sure if I should be concerned or not. My Thyroid is hyped up now. It probably will help slow it down a bit.

The Klinghardt interview really is fascinating! Thanks for posting about what you heard so far! I have the links bookmarked! I am good to go! This is all bodacious scientificness!

The psychological factor is quite interesting. With all of my issues, I do not know if I will ever get well! :( At least, while living with these insane people. They drive me up the wall! I just do not know how much more I can take!

I agree that Lisa should avoid aluminum foil. I use it all the time to make packets, and need to quit. I just do not have a lot of energy. That is the simplest way. The problem is, my stainless steel pots are making everything stick, even when I use oil!

That is good you always peeled your cucumbers and squash. I have always eaten them with the skin on. They do not seem to bother me. It never hurts to be cautious, though. It is good to be safe, not sorry.

Dear Patti,

Billy Joel, Elton John, they all are great! Seeing them in concert was probably amazing! I do not go to concerts, because they are too loud! Aretha is excellent, and has attitude! Soul is one of my favorites!

I do not think it is bad talking about great music. It does not matter how new or old it is. Great is great! You just should not ignore the best music! It would be wrong!

Dear Bev,

What an opportunity! Seoul is a nice place to visit from what I have heard! I suppose the best thing to ask is how to get gluten-free food there, plan on what to do if you have a herx while on the trip, and making sure you have all of your medications, know where to get them when you need them, and have someone there to help you when you need it. The lotus festival in Japan would be an amazing experience as well. If you think you are strong enough to go, I would go!

Dear Rinne,

That is so awesome that you saw Janis Joplin perform as a teenager! :) I was the one that said I met a lady who got to see her at Woodstock! It was so cool! She was right near the stage! How cool is that? You have won a gazillion groovy points! :) Of course, you really did not need them since you are already cool anyway!

There are so many great songs from that era. The 70s were terrific, too. You just cannot pick ten wonderful songs. That is impossible! The 80s had excellent stuff, too.

Tapping is not complicated. Basically, it is quite simple. You read the information you want to remember. Then, you take your index finger, and tap the top of your head gently with it in a few different spots several times. Visualize your brain as a computer, and these spots as keys you are using to store data! I read about this in Women's World.

Dear Claire,

Thank you for the information on rolfing! I had never heard an actual explanation of it. I only knew a little about it.

Everything I read did not explain it at all. Finally I know what it actually is and how it works!

The Asyra testing results were interesting. I am so glad they did not find parasites. Since you had amoebas before, that could be so troublesome! What a relief you do not have any of those evil things in you! I was not surprised to find you were reactive to molds. They seem to be the consensus of reaction misery around here!

Dear Mia,

Gus the amoeba! I am so sorry they found such a nasty parasite in you! Those metal values were quite scary!

The chelation is rough. It is good your doctor started you out with less than he normally uses for others.

Dear tom,

Are you saying that the laser set off sprinklers? Is that what you are implying? Can they really do that? How strange!

Hydroponics is interesting. There is this neat new thing called the AeroGarden that uses them to grow herbs, flowers, and vegetables right on your countertop! I would not mind having one of those!

Actually, my favorite kind of jazz is instrumental. It is bouncy, instead of smooth. Swing jazz is great! Glenn Miller is my favorite! I would love to learn how to swing dance! Swing dancing has got to be a lot of fun!

I also like a bit of Ella Fitzgerald, Lena Horne, and some newer vocalists who have a jazzy sound. Amy Winehouse's "You Know I Am No Good" has a similar sound to that. Joss Stone can really belt out the soul! I like her music a lot. Another more Jazz oriented sound comes from Norah Jones.

Yes, I believe Contrarian Spice may need to lie low. He might even need witness protection. Dollface might have a contract out on him. If she talks to Bella, he could be in big trouble! Do not make her mad!

The seagulls might reconsider stealing sausage after seeing a duck! They can be stubborn, though! You need to watch them. Some people have done some cruel things to them for messing up their car. Personally, I feel it is cruel to make them explode! People feed them Alka-Seltzer tablets, and it makes them blow up! :o

You might not be able to move right away to SJ. It takes time to get everything lined out. You have to get a place to live, a job, etc. That can make things complicated. Portland is a nice place to go. That could help you relax a bit, too. My best friend went there to visit relatives, and could not believe how clean the air was. She did not have a headache once while there, but upon returning home, began getting migraines again.

You are an engineer too! My dad is one. He used to work in hydraulics, and even taught it for a while at a local university.

Dad is better with a computer than anyone! I do not think he built memory chips or ever designed them. When he worked for IBM, he was a Information Technology Systems Management Professional.

The food diary needs to be taken into account. A rotation diet is what I am waiting on. I have to plan it out. I do not have a clue what family some of these foods are in. They need to be done properly, because you should not eat any food in the same family more than once every other day. You also cannot eat the same food more than once a day.

I can see why you would not want to experiment right now. It makes sense. Things are going great, why mess with a good thing? You do not want to stir up trouble when you do not need to. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Thanks for the astronomy pic links! Those are amazing! Have you ever seen the pic called "The Eye of God?" It is incredible! I have it somewhere on here. I could e-mail it to you if you want to see it.

I think the tapping probably did help me remember the peel thing. I had no idea you were not supposed to eat the peels.

Considering they are in the same food family as melons, it makes sense. Melons are notorious for being moldy! I have not noticed them bothering me, though.

Thanks for the warning on the idiot doctor. I have had my share of those as well. They are all such a**crackers! Everyone of them thinks the are God in a labcoat. Most of them are complete eejits.

Dear Carla,

I am sorry you are feeling so rough. :( I know what it is like. Hopefully, this is temporary. I just wish you knew what was setting it off. I am going to do some research on Citrobactor. That might help.

Dear Donna,

Have fun at your parade! That is so neat your neighborhood has their own! What a fun party! I know what you mean about being around all of that food and being hungry. It is really difficult.

Going on vacation can do you in. The amalgam removal probably is what really did it to you. Effects of that can really last a while, and if you do not rest, it makes it worse. Lyme certainly does not help. All of that combined is what likely caused the misery.

Dear Kat,

My mother has high cholesterol and triglycerides. She practically lives at restaurants, too. She will never learn! I know you do not have to never eat out, but my parents eat out at least five days a week! Plus, neither will admit they could have Celiac. They will not admit I have it, despite my doctor saying so!

Dear Barbara,

I am so happy to hear you have some exciting plans for the holiday! It will be nice to see your family again! A year is a long time! When everyone lives so far apart, it makes it hard to get together! We have relatives all over the place, now!

I am glad to hear you are feeling better, too! :)

Dear Andrea,

How is little Seth's bump today? Is he doing okay? He took such a nasty knock to the head. How is T doing with her supplements? Have you noticed any changes yet?

Dear Lisa,

My doctor does not allow fragrances in the office either. I think she is sensitive to them. She is a holistic physician. She seems pretty level headed. Even better, I do not leave with pills!

I do not know much about the glutamates. I do not react to natural ones that I know of. I could be wrong. I am having a problem with my meat sticking to the pans right now. That is why I have been using the foil. I am scared to death of Alzheimer's though. I know aluminum has been implicated in it.

That music festival sounded terrific! I wish I could go to one! It sure sounded like a great experience! All of those bands you mentioned are fabulous! Also, let's not forget Pat Benatar, The Cover Girls, Whitney Houston, and so many other artists that made the 80s great!

I get like that where I cannot stand the smell of food, either. I hate it. It is like morning sickness that pregnant women get. There are times walking makes me want to be sick. I cannot tell you how many doctors over the years asked me if I was pregnant. I told him, "This is been going on for seven years! The only creatures that carry their offspring for seven years

are elephants. Do I look like an elephant to you son?"

So now you cannot stop pooping? Well, at least that powder worked! However, yes, prunes do have mold! They are very moldy! My grandmother always took this stuff called Perdium for her C. It was dried plum granules.

Sincerely,

Jin

tom Contributor
Also....dont fry your meat in water...thats basically doing the same thing as when you boil it...its creating all those free glutamates.

Yikes!!

But I didn't mean hot enough to boil.

Poaching doesn't boil the water does it?

Happy 4th everyone. :)

I'm still listening to this fascinating interview. He's just getting to the part where he's talking about his experiences with things like whey protein, N.A.C, glutathione, etc. Very interesting.

He's also talked alot about the psycological issues preventing detox, testing methods/diagnosing heavy metals, the infections, etc.

He talks about the different chelators he uses and alot about the challenge tests and hair analysis.

I had read stuff before about the tests not telling the whole story. I've read cases where people didnt excrete metals at all in any of the testing.

I've read about this happening in Autism....where kids can be chelating with DMPS for a full year and nothings coming out...then suddenly....because something in the body changed....they are dumping out the metals...LOTS of mercury is being excreted.

Most parents would stop chelating after a few treatments thinking that their child is not toxic.

I remember Denise at BioSET telling me about the lady who Dr. S. was trying to chelate for about 5 years...with no luck. After she spent some time with Anna.....she suddenly released all of the metals in 6 months time.

Dr. K talks about Integrative Dr.'s and what it actually means to be "integrative".

He talks about other Dr.'s sending him their patients that are not getting well. He mentions that the patients say that they've already been through all the chelation, all of the treatment for this or that....they've done everything for the metals so theres no need to look into those things.

He does ART and he finds the metals....they are still there. Then he finds the situation which is preventing them from getting detoxed...whether its an undiagnosed Lyme infection, an unresolved psychological issue...or whatever. He treats it and the metals come out.

Its really fascinating stuff. He's been doing this since 1982....so lots and lots of experience and wisdom. I still havent finished the interview....the player stopped for some reason. :(

Aretha is excellent, and has attitude! Soul is one of my favorites!

Ahhhh The Queen! Last band we had perfect singers for Respect, Think, and . . . .dingo'd!! :o

All points systems irrelevant w/ the local hero status of the creator of the future world-wide Rinne Bar!!!!!

Dear tom,

Are you saying that the laser set off sprinklers? Is that what you are implying? Can they really do that? How strange!

Nah, the infrared detector is a passive measuring device w/ vid, really more like night-vision goggles. Not anything that'd send out laser.

It saw a glowing house from the "hurry-up-and-grow" growlights.

Actually, my favorite kind of jazz is instrumental. It is bouncy, instead of smooth. Swing jazz is great! Glenn Miller is my favorite! I would love to learn how to swing dance! Swing dancing has got to be a lot of fun!

Ohhhhh u would SO love Bay Area act "Lavay Smith & the Red-Hot Skillet Lickers!" LOL what a name!

U can d/l or listen to songs on their site.

Should I mention I can do some of that dancing? C.Spice says not to, so I won't. :P

<smooth jazz isn't even jazz!!!>

Yes, I believe Contrarian Spice may need to lie low. He might even need witness protection. Dollface might have a contract out on him. If she talks to Bella, he could be in big trouble! Do not make her mad!

Portland is a nice place to go. That could help you relax a bit, too. My best friend went there to visit relatives, and could not believe how clean the air was.

I could've signed a lease last Thurs w/ old landlord. He sure wanted me to.

If I'd asked the Cypress Semi guys, I might've had a job lined up already, w/ only simple perfunctory interviews 1st.

A kid I trained is now a flippin' DIRECTOR of the company!!

Portland is sooooo much greener than any city has a right to be. (But much of the yr also much grayer in the sky than I'd like)

Thanks for the astronomy pic links! Those are amazing! Have you ever seen the pic called "The Eye of God?" It is incredible! I have it somewhere on here. I could e-mail it to you if you want to see it.

Oooooooooooo!! I bet it's a post-corrective-vision Hubble pic!!

I might have it but why take chances? Could u email it to the email in my profile? Thx!! :)

Seth is doing good.

Haven't noticed any changes in Talitha yet, but I didn't really expect to this soon. She's doing pretty good with her supplements. She hates swallowing the pills though.

We got a sandbox/table thing for the children yesterday....from Grandma. The children have been enjoying it. :D

I think it's cool they don't allow fragrances in the office.

I think it is so rude when people wear fragrances to places where other people are trapped by them -- movie theaters, restaurants, etc. I've had to move at movied theaters before ... one time at church a lady put on perfume instead of bathing ... OMGosh ... had to move, and that's obvious with SIX kids!!

Our waitress the other day was wearing perfume (Adam couldn't even stand it), I literally gagged and coughed from it ... I'd try to wait till she left the table, but a couple times I couldn't.

People's tastes vary ... and most people seem to have BAD taste in perfume ... then when they get it on their clothes or in their hair, by the second day it's no better than vinegar.

Perfume should be used in a way that makes someone (especially a good looking guy ;) ) snuggle up closer, not run away.

He said in the late 80's, early 90's everyone was talking about candida....then in the late 90's it was mercury poisoning...and now we have Lyme.

I was on the cutting edge ... I had my amalgams out in 91!!!! :D

Also, he says that people with unresolved psychological issues can block a larger portion of the system creating an inability to excrete toxins.

My voodoo doctor here said the same thing ... a lot of what she said made some sense ... she said that I started the healing process when I broke off communication with my mother, which I did by letter telling her and my step-father exactly why I was doing it. I was not disrespectful ... and I gave them the option of treating me better instead of ending things. I can't say more than that on an open forum. :) But I'd tell all of you.

The relevant information is that it was an abusive situation and I'm a stronger, better person because of standing up to it. The doc said that the letter was a very important step in my healing.

I have a lot of blocked memories ... I talked to some old friends about it, including my old high school boyfriend, to fill in some blanks. It wasn't the past that was the problem though ... that was only a problem in my mind, the reason I broke things off was because of the way they were treating me TODAY (well, two years ago and the YEARS before that dating to the day they got married).

This happened about two years ago ... when I was rapidly declining and losing a pound a week. Memories were flooding back due to circumstances in my life ... basically, my kids were getting to be the age I was when some of the things happened (all verbal stuff, no physical).

I still have one unresolved psychological issue ... can't help it, I've tried, it won't go away.

Re: food diary

Oh hehe I didn't take into account ppl here w/out food-related issues.

I have some food related issues. Gluten causes problems ... can't even take a supplement with gluten.

Heavy, obvious molds cause problems, but nothing compared to what others talk about here. I can eat leftovers and do a couple times per week. I can't handle peanut butter or fruit juice more than two days in a row ... I avoid them altogether right now so I detox better.

I think the food issues for me are a matter of giving me too much to detox ... gluten included. I really want a Big Mac, french fries, and a Jack and Coke!!! :D I'll have to get take out. ;)

Hehe work. I've had some time off.

Guess I never mentioned it except in PMs. I had to quit in '97 because I just wasn't capable any longer of doing even a *poor* job.

It was elec engr in memory chips.

I think you did, because I knew that and didn't hear it in a PM.

Wow, ten years off! :o It's amazing how much chronic illness can affect your life.

For candida diet, I read several times that tho cucumber was fine, the skin wasn't.

Turned out I didn't think the cuke itself was fine for me either.

I buy those cucumbers wrapped in plastic ... I've heard them called several different things -- English cucumbers, seedless, etc. They are not waxed.

I have no problems with them ... but cukes were never a problem for me.

Omg LOL oops!!!!

I dingo'd on the situation!

I immediately and quickly defer to Rachel on this.

Hmmmm and maybe get rid of post saying use foil?

I used to cook a lot in foil. I like a bone-in, skin-on chicken breast, garlic, onion, veggies, potatoes, all cooked together. Yum. Same thing can be done in a glass dish, but it's so much easier to make one per person in the foil.

I don't use foil much anymore.

Dear Carla,

I am sorry you are feeling so rough. :( I know what it is like. Hopefully, this is temporary. I just wish you knew what was setting it off. I am going to do some research on Citrobactor. That might help.

Thank you. I am thinking that it's a herx caused by the Cipro. I remember the first month on Amoxy did the same thing to me.

Scatological alert ... I am mainly wondering what Donna's experience was on this, but would take any comments ... Heavy amounts of white streaks in BM's lately ... they look a little mucousy and started soon after the Cipro. Is this good? Is this the bacteria dying off?

Rachel, the Dr. K stuff is very interesting. It sounds as if he doesn't think Lyme needs to be treated??? That all the issues together cause a problem?

Or does he think the Lyme needs to be treated along side the other problems?

Maybe this is why my treatment seems to be going well. For those of you struggling with amalgams ... you will be SO GLAD you did this! I am so relieved that I did it already.

I'm just curious why my Lyme is such a problem in the absence of a big mercury problem or candida problem???? I'm curious how much of a role this bacterial dysbiosis problem is contributing to it all???

Hi everyone

Happy 4th.

Not doing so well today. I have gurggle guts since yesterday about 13 hours now. I know it's mold. I wonder what that sound is anyways when we get moldenen.

Yeah I made and appointment with DR.S for the 20th of this month I believe. I need someone more knowlegable. I can't keep going to these doc's who can't handle someone as sensetive as me.

I am now losing more weight from the mold. Maybe 85 pounds now. I am weak and need to put weight on quick.

I always have to catch my breath when I drink water or food. My body is going through a lot and i don't know what to do in the meantime. :(

AndreaB Contributor

I don't know how you do with beef, but Rachel lived off of 100% grass fed beef for quite awhile. It's just been recently she's been able to add in other meat.

If you buy beef it needs to be from someplace like Whole Foods/Wild Oats which carry the 100% grass fed beef. The other stuff is full of hormones, antibiotics etc.

I do know that one thing Dr E and Dr A recommend is an organic diet, as much as possible. With your sensitivities that would be one thing that would help a bit.

tom Contributor
I think it is so rude when people wear fragrances to places where other people are trapped by them -- movie theaters, restaurants, etc.

Ugh I'll never forget my worst. A flight back from Phx in '05, not a passenger but the &^%$#@#$% male stewardess had cologne so heavy the fool should've been detained at the gate!!!!

I can only hold my breath so long!

And could easily, as he approached from behind - no auditory clues, hdph on, tell when he was w/in 5,6,7 maybe 8 rows!

Ugh - it was during "great" 6-8 wks of '05, but the 2.5days following sucked, relative to surrounding days.

Even went to hide in the lav when he was doing drinks near me!

Now I wonder if that was factor in the descent 'back in the hole'. Hmmmm

And maybe also the time I screwed up when I was roasting raw cashews and either had temp wrong or forgot they were there (or both) and they got blackened and omg the smoke and fumes when I opened that oven. Dizzy in seconds, then weak-kneed & wobbly, outside trying to breathe clean.

Hmmmm thx for bringing that up Carla!! Maybe it's a clue for me on how to stay feeling better than ever! :)

I have some food related issues. Gluten causes problems ... can't even take a supplement with gluten.

I should have tried to be more precise, in spite of the trouble I can get in for getting carried away w/ that. LOL j/k

(No lymificative need for a while, right?)

I guess I meant unresolved, mystery food issues?

Anyone who regularly thinks "wth did I eat that made THIS happen?!!!!" needs a diary.

Happy 4th all!!!

Well, I'm home and the parade was wonderful as was the party afterwards...we had a lot of fun...we played a game at our table which was everyone had to say three words that described themselves...it was very interesting and a lot of fun with the group we had...we all knew each other at least moderately well, so it got very fun. I can't remember what words I picked any more though...artsy, messy, but can't remember the third one. :P I think someone offered one for me and I took it. :P

It was pretty hot out there today though...surely not hot enough for Rachel, but plenty for me. :P

Wow, I am so glad you are doing so well!!! Hope you are having a great time at the BBQ!

Nope the parade was in a neighborhood in Los Gatos I think...Could be SJ at that particular point, but the border zig zags between SJ and LG at that point. Very fun...this year's theme was "favorite places" so the floats included tropical paradises, and one included a gigantic bathtub. They had a bunch of kids who were soaps. We were trying to figure out how that was a favorite place, until a number of us thought of soaking in a bubble bath! Another float was a picnic scene....including "ants" (actually people dressed like ants). Last year's theme was "movies".

We got a sandbox/table thing for the children yesterday....from Grandma. The children have been enjoying it. :D

Oh how fun...I like sandboxes. :P

I think it is so rude when people wear fragrances to places where other people are trapped by them -- movie theaters, restaurants, etc. I've had to move at movied theaters before ... one time at church a lady put on perfume instead of bathing ... OMGosh ... had to move, and that's obvious with SIX kids!!

...

Scatological alert ... I am mainly wondering what Donna's experience was on this, but would take any comments ... Heavy amounts of white streaks in BM's lately ... they look a little mucousy and started soon after the Cipro. Is this good? Is this the bacteria dying off?

I also think it's rude...they are CONSTANTLY reminding people in choir to NOT wear colognes and perfumes because there are many of us who are sensitive to it and we have to stand so close together, but people still do. I can always tell when someone is wearing it--I can't smell it, but my eyes start to burn and water and my friend starts to sneeze. :(

Scat issue-- I actually do think it might be the bacteria. I had that for several months...started about the time I got treated for the H.Pylori, and continued until just the last couple of weeks. I had two kinds of stuff...

warning, squeamish people skip to the next reply  -- I'll mark this as a spoiler so you don't get forced to read it if you don't want to.

I had mostly what looked almost like little off-white rice things...one time I had something that looked like a bunch of mucous...almost like a jellyfish but not formed, and still another time had something similar to the streaks.

. I mentioned that to all my doctors but none of them really knew what it was...went away a few weeks ago finally, so still not sure what it was.

I'm really glad you are going to see him! Just try to hang in there (I know, easy for me to say) as best you can.

Hum interesting and maybe very possible. My friend and I get milder physical reactions, but they are physical nonetheless. Back in the day, that kind of exposure would have been enough to bring on a sinus infection.

Carla, that's so funny what you said about your voodoo doctor! That's what I call my naturopath/ART lady. It's all voodoo to me. I brought all my supplements to her, and most of them were losers, according to her. I never take anything unless it's tested, and I've had all my supplements tested by my acupuncturist. We didn't really know what to think of that. I'm still going to take most of the stuff that she says isn't testing well. Since my acupuncturist was the one who healed me from my intestinal pathogens and did the BioSET, I trust him. I can't drive myself crazy questioning him.

I also feel a bit cynical about my voodoo lady. Her supplements are VERY expensive. Charged me $50 for a bottle of powdered Vitamin C. I think that's outrageous, but I did it for the mercury detox after the amalgam removal. I decided I wasn't going to pursue the Vitamin C IV. The only doctor I got a reference for mercury chelation was a doctor I used to see, and I didn't think he was that great back then. Plus, he dropped my insurance  .

Anyhoo, I decided to go with the dentist my voodoo lady recommended. She used to travel from Arizona back up to Colorado just to have dental work, so that says a lot to me. I got in for an appointment next Tuesday, and I'm quite nervous about it. I checked into another dentist that does amalgam removal, and they didn't have any different protocol. Plus, when I asked what the staff doing the work on me do for safety, they said nothing :o . And the other dentist is almost twice the cost of this dentist. I hope he is as good as she says he is :( .

Rachel, very interesting stuff on the Dr. K interview. He is coming to Denver in August, but I'll be in your state then.

I go for my first LED treatment tonight. Then, I have to stay away from the computer for 24 1/2 hours.

Oh, by the way, the Rainbow Family decided to have their Rainbow Gathering in Rachelville this year after I, the official Rachelville granola, recruited them. No fireworks for us today - that symbolizes war and we are not into that, being the granola, crunchy, tie-dye wearing types. We did our meditation for peace already. I told them that they could come only if they had gluten-free granola and other food. If any of you have ever been to a Rainbow Gathering, you'll know what I'm talking about!

Thanks for the info, Donna.

Claire, I don't think you were around for the original story, neither was Tom.

I was going to an MD who practices holistic medicine. She diagnosed me with adrenal fatigue and told me my symptoms were psychosomatic. I had her test me for Lyme, and even though the results were positive, very clearly positive, she said I didn't have it, that it was psychosomatic.

I had been getting acupuncture in her office from a Chinese guy who was very good. She wanted to give it to me herself and wave her hands over me to get rid of the negative emotions I was penting up and that were causing me to be sick.

I stopped going to her.

Although the ART, BioSET, acupuncture, etc. is strange and not able to be explained, it still has a lot of followers and seems to be accurate.

I don't blame you for calling it voodoo .... but I didn't mean it in a positive or even joking sense with this crazy doctor.

The funny thing is, my LLMD has to send all my medical information on my Lyme treatment to my local doctor .... so it all gets sent to her!!

I called my doctor, yeah I told her I lost weight more weight. She says I might need to get an IV or something to keep some weight on. Man I knew I shouldn't have taken those supplements.

The supplement I took has VC(asorbic acid) taurine, pancrelipase, beet concentrate(whole) superoxide dismutase from vegie culture and catalase from veggie culture. With SOD and catalase to preserve associated enzyme factors. Any mold here?

Here's a great article I found that I think applies to most of us here. :)Open Original Shared Link

Well, veggie culture sounds suspect for mold to me and probably the enzymes.

Oh my

what a terrible day. I did an enyma today and guess what. I was taking the butt plug part off of it after I used it and water splashed on my face! From the tip of the enyma I put in my BUTT!

Then I took charcoal. out of the capsule and I took a drink, put the glass down and the water also splashed in my face and water got in my eye with charcoal.

It burns so bad. I rinsed it with water forever.

What a fourth of july for me.

Happy July 4th to everyone, we celebrated a few days ago. :) We like to get an early start on parties up here.

Barbara, that is wonderful news. I hope you had lots of fun at the barbecue.

We got a sandbox/table thing for the children yesterday....from Grandma. The children have been enjoying it. :D

Remember when sand was fun. :)

Carla, I'm impressed that you have been able to do so much to heal yourself given the challenges. Thank you for sharing so much of yourself. :)

The doctor you saw, IMO, is behaving in a criminal manner. I thought I had had bad experiences. That your tests would show Lyme and she ignored them.

Rachel, I do think that the emotional component needs to be addressed in order to heal, it is part of what I was trying to get at even in regards to who gets sick and who doesn't. Clearly all the science shows that toxicity exists and impacts on our health but what is that tipping point.

I think I am hearing that it is related in some cases to an emotional trauma, death, accidents, realtionships ending...

In a simple way it seems to me that there is a relationship between our desire for life and our immune system's ability to maintain our lives.

.....

:lol::lol:

Claire, I hope all goes well. :)

It is so difficult to know sometimes, I know that in the beginning I saw several people who I thought were idiots and they were more than willing to treat me for all sorts of things. One naturapath told me I would have no problem at all having a local Lyme test. No, not easy here. He also told me he had treated people with Lyme.

I called my doctor, yeah I told her I lost weight more weight. She says I might need to get an IV or something to keep some weight on. Man I knew I shouldn't have taken those supplements.

As I was saying it is hard to know who to trust, there are lots of people who are not seriously ill looking to feel better and perhaps some of these doctors are okay for them but if a doctor doesn't really get how sick you are then you need another doctor.

I'm glad you will be seeing someone known as trustworthy. :)

As others have said, hang in there, trust that you are finding your way through this.

We know you have a great sense of humor and clearly great determination to keep trying. :)

And Donna, such adorable pictures. :)

I'm glad you had a good time. :D

Also ask for a test of vitamin D levels. I agree with knitty kitty that cyclical Thiamine deficiency may be the cause of your cycle.  Celiac Disease causes multiple vitamin and mineral deficiencies.   Itchy palms can be a symptom of iodine deficiency.  Low iodine levels can lead to dry, flaky skin on the hands and  body due to the disruption of normal skin cell regeneration caused by a lack of thyroid hormone production, which relies on iodine. Other symptoms are   fatigue, weight gain, sensitivity to cold. I take between 600 and 1200 mcg a day Liquid Iodine. It has improved my healing.  Strong Iodine and Lugols Solution are other options.  Start low and build up over time. Between 1970 and 1988 the dietary intake of Americans dropped by 50%. Perhaps this is why some can tolerate the bread in Europe?

Be cautious with vitamin D if you are female and post-menopausal.  I had to decrease my D dosage from 4000 IU/day to 2000 IU because of hormonal acne and unwanted facial hair - likely from an increased testosterone level from the D.  Finally relief!  I hope to keep my D level below 50 nm/l now.

Do you eat processed gluten free foods?

You may want to wear an N-95 mask to filter out any possible gluten, at least when you handle the flour.

It sounds like you've been on quite the journey trying to understand your symptoms and diagnosis. It’s great that you’re planning to consult a doctor for allergy testing, as distinguishing between a wheat allergy, celiac disease, or another gluten-related condition is crucial for moving forward. The fact that you’ve tolerated barley and wheat products without recent symptoms might suggest something other than celiac disease, but as you noted, the absence of immediate symptoms doesn’t necessarily rule out potential underlying damage, especially if celiac disease is still a possibility. It’s worth discussing whether you should undergo updated testing, such as genetic testing for celiac markers (HLA-DQ2/DQ8), or even revisiting an endoscopy if appropriate. In the meantime, keep documenting your experiences with food and symptoms—it could provide valuable insights for your healthcare provider. It’s also important to test for other possible causes of your original symptoms, like IBS, food intolerances, or even other autoimmune conditions, to ensure nothing is overlooked.
