OMG...I think I would have had to of been totally overtaken by the alien baby (who might be heartless).....totally delirious and out of my mind from racheling all forms of treatment and possibly indulging in Big Mac's with supersized accessories....to NOT respond to that post!! :P

Yeah....she is just the most darling girl......Mia happiness....who can resist?? :)

I was asking for was answers...thats all I wanted no matter how bad it might be....I just wanted to know *everything* that was going on that the Dr.'s couldnt tell me.

I think that we all want to understand the reasons why things are happening inside our bodies.

No matter how deep or complex the issue may seem. There is comfort in breaking things down, into simpler units, to begin to understand, and believe that something real is going on.

And not just some abstract idea, but something real and tangible that can be fixed.

I'm back, and it was very easy, so I survived.

YAY....I'm glad it went better this time. :)

Rachel-

LED! LED!LED!

OMG....does anyone recall Tom Cruise's wild jumping heinosity on Oprah's couch??

Ummm...yeah...that could easily be me right now (even BEFORE I ate a boatload of cookies)!!!

Oh....except I'm not thinking about Katie Holmes. :P

LED! LED! LED! :D

Holy cow, I can't believe Rachel ate a boatload of gluten free cookies!

Sheeesh...I'm gone for one week and somehow you've forgotten my racheling tendencies??

Rachel--24 Collaborator
Wow, did you get lucky! My grandmother makes those with egg whites, sugar and chocolate chips. They're GREAT and easy to make. ;) I can have Morgan post the recipe if you want it. It's SO EASY to eat a WHOLE container ... they don't fill you up at all, ever. You get a sugar rush before you get full. :D

Well I might attempt to make cookies again at some point (and then I'll be hunting down all the recipes :P ) but I'm pretty sure I couldnt get away with what I did today on a regular basis. I still dont know what tomorrow is gonna bring.

First thing I did when I got home was eat some charcoal. :o

Thanks Rachel. Is there another more generic name for epsom salts?

Hmmm....I'm thinking "epsom salts" is about as generic as it gets. I'm sure they must have them in China....here in the states you can find them in almost every grocery store or drug store. They're usually in a bag or carton somewhere near the laxitives.

Carla,

I forgot to say that I wouldn't mind that cookie recipe. :D

Thanks again for posting the four temperments page. I just looked at the top of it as I've really got to get to bed since I have to get up almost 2 hours earlier than I'm used to.

I will definately be looking at that by the weekend though. :D

Dear Alison,

The guy Dad is supposed to meet next week called with the time and place now. I really am nervous. Things look good. We just need to keep getting that positive energy! Right now, Dad is dealing with pain in his back from a pinched nerve. :(

He originally got it when he was young. At the time, he was playing on one of those large trampolines. That is why he never would let me on one as a child. He has been taking Darvocet (sp?)

but it does not seem to do much for it. He was helping my brother move furniture over at his apartment the other day when he messed up his back again.

Meanwhile, I am worrying about money, my health, school, and other things I typically am concerned about. At the moment, my primary focus is on how to simplify. Everything is a mess, and I cannot take it anymore! The thing bothering me the most at this time is actually needing my hair done. I hope to be fully raven-haired again later this morning!

How is the orchestra tour going? What all have you guys been doing? Which pieces are you playing? I know something you would think is really neat. The Japanese invented the first glass violin some time back. I might have told you about that before. It has a beautiful sound! Let me know if you would like to hear it, because I have a link.

Dear Donna,

At least you get to decide when to do the test! Even better is no big orange jug! That can be awkward! What exactly do they test for? Is it enzymes or something else?

Dear Carla,

I am sorry to hear you have D. Amoxy does not do that to me. If anything, I actually got constipated on it. Normally, I have the opposite trouble! It is surprising you are having all this trouble while taking so many different probiotics!

I am only taking one supplement at the moment. I am about to run out, and worry we will not be able to afford more. I also have been curious about something. How can I be allergic to mold, but tolerate penicillin? Isn't it made from mold? Any theory on this?

Morgan's sweat being black is scary! I do not know what would cause that. The lead is a possibility. I know my sweat is toxic. It smells like onions or garlic, even when I have not eaten any.

The foot odor is like vinegar. No matter what I do, it does not go away. Maybe if I get rid of some of the yeast, that will improve.

That cookie recipe of your grandmother's sounds wonderful! Please post it! I would love a copy!

I know I need to watch the sugar. Occaisional like for holidays would be alright I would think. They sound so good!

The band on your teeth probably does make playing the flute difficult. My best friend had those in her mouth. Her orthodontist made her wear them. It was so uncomfortable! You said they want you to play at funerals as well, and there are three already?

Thank you for the psychology information! I am anxious to check it out. My school work has to come first, though. Hopefully, I will get a better grip on this calculator soon. These things are just slightly complicated in how they work.

Dear Rachel,

NDF seems like it would not be good for me! All of the yeast I have would certainly like it a lot!

After the jar of peanut butter is gone, I am not getting any more! I was doing much better, then I got addicted to it again! Like Rinne said, I need to get off the peanut butter, man!

That information on sulfite deficiencies is really neat! I always seem to tolerate broccoli alright. I can get gas, but do not normally feel unwell upon eating it. My mother cannot tolerate it at all. Two little sprigs will make her sick.

All of the scientificness on cysteine is amazing! I know very little about that. Where did you get the information? I should find it and mark this. This is something you never read about for some reason.

Don't feel bad about racheling the cookies! At least they did not have too many bad things in them. They seemed pretty pure compared to most commercially produced goods. I could not chance the cc, though. You deserved to enjoy something for once!

Dear Sherry,

I cannot believe the zinc was so hard to find. I suppose China does not consider it mainstream. That is the only reason I could figure why it is not easily available. Maybe someone could bring you some from the states. Didn't you say a friend of yours is bringing some items to you?

It is so strange that you and Carla both got D at the same time! How weird is that? Of course, when you are constipated, it seems much worse. Then, you wish you could go, then you cannot stop! Before going gluten-free, I had a lot of times that I would not be able to go for a few days, then I could not stop for a couple.

Dear tom,

That is so great about you winning the contest! How amazing is that? What are the odds that you would just hook up your radio at the same time that they were having that contest? The Strawberry Music Fest is going to be awesome! Take pics when you go!

Thank you for the tip on saving posts! Losing them can be irritating! This is especially so if you have posts as long as mine! The directions were good. You did great!

The lack of illness was something I never experienced my entire life. I was sickly from the get-go. I had respiratory infections twice a year from birth to about 17 years old. Bronchitis was the typical trouble, although having pneumonia came along a few times. There were a ton of other things, too. I dealt with asthma, sinus problems, and a variety of stomach issues.

Dear Judy,

I guess you were not here when I told about my comicbook I am working on. It is called "La Bella Mafia". I created a Mafia of all women. Each has a specialty. Dana "Dollface" Malone is the ice queen of the group. She is a model/actress with a lot of bridges to burn. Her mother was difficult, and she is somewhat angry at the world.

Tom and I joke about her all the time. So, when we put WWDD? That means "What would Dollface do?" It is an inside joke. Typically, it is used when someone ticks us off. Everyone knows Dollface just shoots them!

You are more than welcome to hijack my post anytime! If it helps, go for it! I do not mind at all. Life is complicated enough! Why make it harder?

I have never heard of microscopic colitis until you mentioned it. This is something I was not aware of. It sounds pretty difficult to deal with. I hope they figure out something for you to take. I would not be surprised if that aspirin did it to you. That is what caused my grandmother's ulcer the size of an orange!

I cannot believe you were taking 20 aspirins a day! I will not even take one. I take sinus pills with acitomenophen. That is all! I limit myself to two daily whenever possible.

It was unusual that the gallstone showed in the CT. They are normally the least accurate procedure for that. Apparently, I had a low density stone. Those are the kind that typically show up in the CT. Thank God it did, or I would never have gotten that thing out in time! Wow! You had seven stones? Ouch!

We appreciate your prayers! I am sure we should have enough good energy to bring forth good things! You know how the law of attraction is. Good things come to those who put forth positive energy. Negativity attracts negativity. We will continue to hope for good news for you as well.

Dear Laura,

I am so glad to hear your test went well! It really is smooth sailing after you drink the barium!

I was unable to do that. They ended up having to inject me with iodine. That stuff is so disgusting, I do not have any desire to drink it again.

Dear Bev,

I am glad you liked my little song! It was just off the top of my head! Spoof songs are fun to make up! Weird Al certainly is entertaining! He always does a great job of making something hilarious out of any song!

Dear Susie,

I am so glad you pooped in! We were wondering what you are up to! Maybe it would be a good idea to teach the dingos how to clean the house. Our dingo would never do that. He messes on the floor instead!

Dear Lisa,

Hang in there! I really think you should not eat the same thing every day. That can cause you to begin reacting to your only safe foods. Diversifying your diet is a good way to prevent that. You also will get more nutrition that way.

Dear Mango,

Keeping up is not easy! There is a lot of information on here! Don't worry. You are not creepy! We are happy that you lurk!

Dear Patti,

I am sorry you felt so rough earlier. It could be those antibiotics. They can do that. The Zithromax always set pretty well with me. I can get colon trouble from it, but it is not nearly as difficult to deal with as some of the others.

It is understandable that you are emotional about moving. You have lived there a while. There are memories. This could be a good way to start over. Maybe you could look at it is your path to wellness! That might make the transition appear more positive.

Laptops are not the world's easiest things to type on. The keyboards are weird. Regular keyboards are easier to use. I cannot type worth anything on a laptop. Those stupid flat keyboards tick me off!

Dear Andrea,

We will be anxious to hear about T's appointment. Everything should go smoothly. The drive is certainly daunting. I would rather go up the night before if possible. It is too exhausting otherwise!

Dear Christina,

I agree that we want to know about what is going on inside us. Our heads are really the most complex part. Much of the time, we tend to neglect that aspect of our health. That can ruin your physical health. Psychology holds a lot of interesting ideas, including the ability to make mental energy physical, as in telekinesis. (sp?)

Sincerely,

Jin

Well, guess what I get to do...urine test.

Bless you, Donna--you always seem to get the "fun" stuff :( I'm glad that at least you don't have to stare down the orange jug :o:o:D

I just felt that I was gonna have to go through some really rough stuff along the way but for some reason ever since that day I had a strong feeling that I would get well again. I felt like I would have to work real hard and whenever I get "stuck"...I will get more guidance but in the end (however long it might take) I will be healthy....and also a changed person.

What great insight :)

OMG...I think I would have had to of been totally overtaken by the alien baby (who might be heartless).....totally delirious and out of my mind from racheling all forms of treatment and possibly indulging in Big Mac's with supersized accessories....

But this just cracked me up :P

Jin, I really agree with you on simplifying. It's what I'm looking to do, too :) You keep your chin up, you're a bright, smart and imaginative girl and I believe that things will get better for you--much better :D;)

Question for everybody--what would make my perspiration sting when I'm exercising ? I need to walk everyday, and this is very disconcerting.....It's like little tiny pin pricks all over. I just had a complete cardiac work up and blood work--everything came up normal. Maybe it's just me? (can't be the abx--this started before)

If it's excess toxins, would epsom salt baths help, do you think?

Susan and Rachel-

i love you both- defintly sending big hugs (well i am very little but i pack a lot of PUNCH!!)

Rachel-

i love what you said about the foot bath i am so glad someone gets escited about the same things i do. I heard it was good for metal detox and obviosly detox in general.

Have you guys ever heard of this catalogue Gaim (ok that is not how its spelled I think) but they sell loads of really cool stuff.

PAtti-

just to add to what every one else said. You and pathetic in the same sentence is an oxy moron!!!!!!!

Donna-

C'mon i know you are upset i personally have developed an loving infinity for those big orange jugs. Really whats a pee tes without one?

Oh, and I forgot to tell you about the detox diet, lol. The nutritionist gave me a detox diet to follow if I want. I'm already eating a lot of the stuff...may add some and give it a shot for a week.

<tweet!> [cop voice] "Move along folks, nothin' to see here. Just go on home"

Yeah, and that works about as well as when a real cop says it!

Oh, that Cupertino store looks absolutely HUGE....I do plan to check it out when it's all open for business and all. :P

Thanks Rachel. Is there another more generic name for epsom salts? The trick is to find it here in China, and then, I don't have a bathtub at home. lol

If anybody knows, could you PM me? That way I won't miss it.

Actually sounds like epsom salts is actually magnesium sulfate.

Yep, that's it I think...I can double check when I get home because I know it's written on the package of epsom salts that I have. I don't suppose China has a Long's Drug store does it?! Hum, can't really figure out how to overcome the no bathtub thing though. :P

OMG....does anyone recall Tom Cruise's wild jumping heinosity on Oprah's couch??

LED! LED! LED!

Sheeesh...I'm gone for one week and somehow you've forgotten my racheling tendencies??

 !!! I hardly ever watch Oprah, and I just happened to be watching THAT day! Still, the vision of YOU jumping on your couch yelling LED, LED, LED is much more endearing that watching Tom Cruise jumping.

Hey, I was traumatized for a week...my mind is foggy. :P

At least you get to decide when to do the test! Even better is no big orange jug! That can be awkward! What exactly do they test for? Is it enzymes or something else?

Well the box says "metabollic" somethingorother, but she called it a liver function test. It's to see how well my liver is working I guess...tells them how I process things I think. I get to pee in the middle of the night (and then refrigerate it! YUCK), and again first thing in the morning...that's it. I can't take enzymes, probiotics, whey and a couple of other things, and then it suggests not taking supplements. We were talking about detox when she suggested it, so I'm thinking this will tell her if I'm able to detox well. I'm sure Dr. S will be interested in that as well.

Not sure exactly, but it does sound toxic...epsom salts might help. I'll see if I can find out anything on the fitness board I post on.

Have you guys ever heard of this catalogue Gaim (ok that is not how its spelled I think) but they sell loads of really cool stuff.

I have...they do lots of fitness stuff, but they also have stuff for the mind and body. I used to get their catalogs a lot, but think I got dropped off their list. :P I think it's Gaiam... Target sells some of their fitness stuff.

C'mon i know you are upset i personally have developed an loving infinity for those big orange jugs. Really whats a pee tes without one?

 I still think eventually I will get to meet that stupid jug. :P

CarlaB Enthusiast
I bookmarked it to look at later. I need to turn over the computer.....I'm on Mitch's time now.

I was reading over that page I posted ... it was a pretty interesting presentation of the temperaments. Very detailed.

Yeah...my new thing is that I wanna do EVERYTHING....except I barely have time for my spiceship.

It's a good thing since you only are allowed 5 minutes! Are you still doing only 5 minutes?

I havent had to use my mask with the new vacuum :D ....it must have special powers that my previous vacuum lacked.

I have an Oreck that's special for locking up allergens ... it's great because nothing comes out while you're vacuuming ... I don't vaccum though, the kids do. B)

First thing I did when I got home was eat some charcoal. :o

I think what you really needed was a shot of insulin!

Carla,

I forgot to say that I wouldn't mind that cookie recipe. :D

I'll have Morgan post it, or at least email it to me. She makes them. You can make them with the chocolate chips, nuts or nothing at all (just plain egg whites and sugar).

Dear Carla,

I am sorry to hear you have D. Amoxy does not do that to me. If anything, I actually got constipated on it. Normally, I have the opposite trouble! It is surprising you are having all this trouble while taking so many different probiotics!

Yes, and from my stool test, apparently the probiotics aren't hanging around ... I don't know what to do about the d ... I know they won't let me stay on the meds if it does't go away. I'd prefer D and having to deal with GI imbalances later than to go off the abx and have the Lyme get worse again.

It's not really her sweat ... it's this black stuff that comes out of her pores. You can see the black dots on the towel that she uses to wipe off her sweat ... she says that when she rubs her hand across her pores, she gets black gunk under her fingernails ... she can see it ... it's more waxy than watery.

If you get rid of some of the yeast, but also just detox in general, that should help. Since using the sauna, I don't even need deodorant anymore. I just don't smell.

Question for everybody--what would make my perspiration sting when I'm exercising ?

If it's excess toxins, would epsom salt baths help, do you think?

It would seem that anything you could do to help detox would help ... I don't know what it would be.

Oh, and I forgot to tell you about the detox diet, lol. The nutritionist gave me a detox diet to follow if I want. I'm already eating a lot of the stuff...may add some and give it a shot for a week.

I'd love to know what's on it. :P

Oh, that Cupertino store looks absolutely HUGE....I do plan to check it out when it's all open for business and all. :P

It's really funny, I had never heard of Cupertino ... then I got my iPhone ... it has the weather on it, you just set your place ... it was preset for Cupertino! Then you guys started talking about Cupertino .... prior to that, I had never heard of it.

dlp252 Apprentice

No luck yet on the sweat issue...I need to know a way to narrow down my search...I may give up and just ask the question, lol.

The detox diet is pretty easy actually. It just includes foods that naturally aid in detoxification, and excluding foods that hinder. I don't think any of us here probably has much of the hinderance stuff anyway. I'll have to post the info tomorrow though...the paper is at home, and I'll only have about an hour at home later because it's small group practice tonight (unless they cancel :P ).

CarlaB Enthusiast

I keep meaning to mention, I talked to my LLPA about the Pepto ... she said that bismuth is a metal, so to be careful of it because it's a metal. That also makes sense with all the talk of metals binding with bacteria.

Patti, I'm sure that there are many possible causes of stinging sweat. :(

In my own experience, my sweat gets like that when I am dehydrated. I always assumed it was because of a higher concentration of salt? So my questions would be, are you drinking enough, and have you increased salt consumption (which wouldn't necessarily mean salty food)?

dlp252 Apprentice

Okay Patti, I went ahead and posted a question on the board over there, lol...got two responses to far. One just responded that indeed she gets that on her legs.

The other one who responded is actually someone I have met in person (in fact she's standing beside me in my avatar photo, lol)...she suggested that it might be the normal release of histamines when you work out:

What she said: Most folks only feel a flushing or itchiness on some body parts but you could get it anywhere/allover depending upon how sensitive you are. A pinprick sensation that's on her feet that could be nerve sensation from feet swelling and/or shoes that are too tight. It doesn't sound harmful... especially if it goes away gradually after she's done exercising and feels better if she showers with cool water.

She's right...I sometimes feel itchy when I work out, and only get the stinging in my eyes when the sweat hits...I sometimes have to immediately wash my face because of the stinging.

CarlaB Enthusiast

I'm reading an article on Lyme and found this interesting. Open Original Shared Link

Since most antibiotics can only kill bacteria when they are dividing, a slow doubling time means less lethal exposure to antibiotics. Most bacteria are killed in 10-14 days of antibiotic. To get the same amount of lethal exposure during new cell wall formation of a Lyme spirochete, the antibiotic would have to be present 24 hours a day for 1 year and six months!

jerseyangel Proficient

Donna,

Wow--thank you SO much for posting on your other board for me :) . I am pretty sensitive, so it's probably normal for me. It does stop right away after the activity, like she suggested. Anyway, what would I do without you :D You're forever helping me out with things. ;)

Alison,

Thanks :) I'm on a low salt diet  , due to the blood pressure. I've made a concerted effort to drink at least 8 cups of water a day--I used to not be so good about that.

Thanks again guys :D

I did some looking around. And even emailed a . .. .. .. .hmm is cousin-in-law a real term? Anyway he's a translator of medical papers betw english and several asian tongues.

Epsom Salts are magnesium sulfate, but that compound is also used for injections to treat all sorts of conditions!! Freaked me out.

So THEN, I find Epsom Salts specifically also have 7 water molecules attached to the MgSO4.

I had to put a dash where there was a halfway-up dot but I got:

magnesium sulfate

tom Contributor
Actually sounds like epsom salts is actually magnesium sulfate.

At least I found the words in Chinese, doesn't mean I can find the right preparation or strength.

Aha! I *knew* I should've read ahead before posting!!

I do think that once the 'heptahydrate' word is thrown in, the concerns of strength and right preparation are moot.

Good luck finding it Sherry!

It must be there somewhere! :)

Did I dingo what part of China you're in?

My cousin and family are going in Aug for a few months!! I think they'll be near Beijing.

I tell ya - I can still barely believe they were awarded the Olympics while still jailing reporters & bloggers & political dis-agree-ers.

I also have been curious about something. How can I be allergic to mold, but tolerate penicillin? Isn't it made from mold? Any theory on this?

Ok well, u DID ask. Pure speculation w/ no googles, but how about that a purification process for a medicinal product just wildly exceeds that for, say, manufactured citric acid.

Any process-related mold residues may be exsanguinated from penicillin.

[/PureSpeculation]

The lack of illness was something I never experienced my entire life. I was sickly from the get-go.

Ya I was quite ill most or all of the time period I'm referring to.

But never w/ a basic flu or cold.

My guess is toxins because it also happens to me. It doesnt hurt though....its just a weird feeling....like you said "pin pricks". It happens to me when my body is warming up and just starting to sweat....like when I'm in the sauna. Sometimes it makes me itch because all these little pin pricks kind of tickle a little bit.

That never happened to me before I got sick.

I'm sure the epsom salt baths could help...anything that promotes detox can help to get some of the toxins out. The exersize is good too.

Rachel--24 Collaborator

Donna.....this makes sense to me.

Heck....my body releases histamine for just about *everything*...so yeah....I'm sure getting heated up and sweating is releasing it too.

I know I didnt experience anything like this when I was healthy though. <_< I think I have an over abundance of histamine now.

It does itch and it does feel like pin-pricks.

Oh, that Cupertino store looks absolutely HUGE....I do plan to check it out when it's all open for business and all. :P

Its gonna open on August 22nd. It was suppossed to open this month but got pushed back cuz of some power problems or something. I'm glad its gonna be opening soon because the one across the street is too busy for its size...two people cant even pass each other on an aisle.

The Los Altos store is always busy too....only you cant tell because theres so much room....I never feel crowded in that store. :)

There is no established connection between type 2 diabetes and celiac disease. There is a connection with type 1, however, as about 6% of those with type 1 diabetes also have celiac disease. This rate is 6x that of the celiac rate found in the general population. https://celiac.org/about-celiac-disease/related-conditions/diabetes-and-celiac-disease/

Here is a link to the skin version, and the only ingredients are "chicken": https://www.perduefarms.com/en-US/perdue-bone-in-chicken-thighs-pack/60625.html There should also be ingredients and any allergens listed there on the package.

Welcome to the forum, @BeeBarnard! I really can't imagine how either skin or skinless chicken thighs could not be gluten free unless one or the other were treated with some seasoning ingredient that was not gluten free. Do the product labels indicate any additional ingredients added to the meat? Is your daughter a super sensitive celiac? If not, the amount of gluten cross contamination found in seasonings is usually inconsequential.

HI, My daughter was recently diagnosed with Celiac and I would like to make her some chicken soup (she's got he flu). I found all gluten free ingredients but I'm having trouble with the chicken. I purchased Purdue bone-in chicken thighs from BJ's Wholesale Club. Purdue says that they are gluten free but the BJ's website says no. It seems like skin-on chicken is not, but skinless is. Does this seem accurate? Thank you
