It is good you take the antibiotics and probiotics apart. That should help. There are a lot of reasons you might not be getting the good bacteria. All of those probiotics should be working by now. I wonder if there is another element here that just has not been pursued yet.

I think it probably had to do with the overgrowth of the bad stuff.

One of the restaurants is Tibetan ... really, really greasy food. That puzzled me.

The other is Thai ... I really like that one. I think it's owned by the brother's wife or some other relative ... the brother owns the Tibetan one though.

Good luck with starting over clean today. I'm The Queen of starting over today. Not to be self-centered or anything, but, it is, in fact, all about me. :D

ROFL "K too lazy" !!

"The Queen of starting over" reminds me of the refrain in Jane's Addiction's "Jane Says", namely "I'm gonna kick tomorrow".

Donna!

See ya ~8:45 on the 5th then! I'll bring my PalmZire so I can video it!!:lol:

(Hilarious dream btw  )

Rachel - that "typing it out" instead of just reading is something I used to do a lot. It makes a huge difference doesn't it?

It's like active vs passive participation in the sentences.

I meant to comment a couple days ago how EVERY TIME *I* do a couch-bounce I somehow DO think of Katie Holmes!!! And she's not even my type - except for the dimpled smile. :);)

And congrats on no cookie-related after-effects!

Years ago I'd be right there w/ ya - nibblin' off pocketfuls hehehehe.

P.S. Just saw that Dubya had a colonoscopy this morning. He didn't even remain President during it.

I suppose a vital part of the prep was disengaging his usual cranial-rectal insertion.

Well, I'm pretty sure most people would consider my fat intake excess... I regularly have 50-60% of my calories coming from fat. It's all good fat, except for that well-marbled steak, which I eat TONS of. Not quite on the multiple jars of nut butters, but close.

Ahhhhhhh 50%+?

Maybe our almond butter are different. I get WhF 365 and put it in the fridge before opening it. Then there's always 1/3rd" or so of just almond oil on top.

THAT's what makes me go <blehh> at the thought of drinking!!

I pour it off cuz I don't like my almBtr as drippy as it gets w/ all the orig oil mixed back in. (My shirts thank me  )

Surprising!? Not to me. No idea how your tastes run now, but I'd say Jane's Addiction helped *define* that early 90s REAL rockin' along w/ Nirvana, RHCP etc., while the Happy Mondays & Sister Double Happiness have long faded.

BUT KAT- the real reason for THIS post is to ask about the avatar!!

Did I miss an av story??

All I can really tell is it's in a stadium.

Please elaborate! :)

My wedding - why? I'm sure there are plenty of people who had 55 + thousand guests at their wedding. :P

This one's titled "Skyshow Wedding at the Padre's game".

Just another example that I won't stop at anything to avoid having to do any work of any kind. I mean, Really - invitations, seating arrangements ... why bother? Especially when you can get your family and friends tickets to the game and get married on the field before 45 minutes of the most spectacular fireworks show around?

Honestly, the best damn day of my life.

This has been fun, but I gotta go now - Pool time

OMGosh!!!! HOT STONES ROCK!!!! Very relaxing indeed!! I really needed to tell her to increase the pressure, but it was so relaxing I just couldn't. Rachel, you'd LOVE this....pretty sure you would, lol. First of all, the heated mattress pad was on...now they always do that in the winter, but most of the time in the summer they don't unless I request it...it was on. Yay. So at various times the stones were used in her hands to exert pressure while massaging, placed ON various knots on my body, or at various points underneath my body and sometimes a combo of all of them. She also wrapped my hands and feet in hot towels. OMGosh, who knew that could be so relaxing. On my back she put a hot towel then the stones all down my back, then another towel over that. Oh, can you say toasty!!! Heavenly... oh yes, she wrapped my neck in a hot towel with couple of hot stones on each side....thought I might die (in a good way) on that one. :P

Thanks for all the info on epsom salts...my bath was also heavenly!

Bought some really fun colors of nail polish today...one of them is black irridescent glitter. Now I just have to decide which of the many colors I've bought recently that I want to do today.

Or, strangling relatives would be great, too. God knows I could use some therapy, and not the psychological kind.

So many therapies to make one feel good. Good luck on YOUR candida diet.

Is going on the candida diet a good thing if it's trapping the metals?

Yeah, not too sure on this one, but I definitely need to cut down, although that's generally harder that just cutting it out completely for me. I've really been craving sugar, so I'm figuring I've been feeding it too much.

Donna,

There was a time when I doubted your statement that you were "The Queen of Lazy" and a lot like me. The more I read your posts, the more I'm beginning to believe that you are, in fact, a lot like me, and, quite possibly, we share the title "Queen of Lazy" - can there be 2 Queens in this land?

I had no choice but to post a reply to this. Between the laziness and the "all about me" thing, I can see now that you were right.

Good luck with starting over clean today. I'm The Queen of starting over today. Not to be self-centered or anything, but, it is, in fact, all about me.

We can be co-regents! I am indeed THAT lazy. Outside of the short time each day that I work out, I'm all about the couch. My house may fall down around me, and I may be surrounded by piles of junk, but my couch calleth and I cannot ignore it. :P

They are called "Chocolate Chewie Cookies".....made in the Safeway bakery. Are there Safeway's in New York??

OMGOSH, the name alone makes me want to stop at Safeway!!! Egads!

Bah! Cold turkey's the way to go. After 2 or 3 days of thinking about sweets, it gets extremely easy.

Yeah, I think I have to agree with this...a little taste of something and pretty soon I'm Rachel magnified 10 times.

Donna!

See ya ~8:45 on the 5th then! I'll bring my PalmZire so I can video it!!

Okay, see ya there! Oh, no need to record...they record all the services...course I don't know what they do with that, but footage is bound to show up somewhere at some point.

Nope, our almond butters are the same...I just eat all that oil. (where's the pukey smiley when you need it  )

Dang, I forgot to buy avocado today. :(

Is going on the candida diet a good thing if it's trapping the metals?

Yup....doing the diet is still important. Aggressive antifungal treatment is not the best idea but the candida still needs to be somewhat managed with diet and treatment.

Even if the candida is there to protect the body from metals it can still get very out of hand if left unchecked. It needs to be treated all through heavy metal detox/chelation because it flares up as metals are moved out of the body.

So thats the "breakdown" of scientificness re: LED.

Hope it makes sense. :)

Thanks for that scientificness Rachel! I followed most of it. I'm tired from a day of doing battle with my irrigation system, so I'll have to go back and read it. It pretty much described the treatment process.

I am also doing acupuncture weekly. I'm wondering if the combination of LED and acupuncture increases the effects of the treatments?

I'm trying to figure out our ASYRA drop schedule. Most times I can give 2 days per each one drop increase. With Micah if I want to have him over this series of drops before the next ASYRA session I would need to do many of his at 1 drop added per day. Does anyone thing that'd be too much?

Talitha and Seth both have the last 1/2 week to a week where there's will increase at a drop a day to have them finish up on Sept 4th. Micah needs to take more drops than Talitha.

My drops stay consistent with the flower essences I was given, 2 drops 3x a day. I can't remember to take them at lunch, so I just do 3 drops 2x a day.

I am also taking parsley and Samento Cat's Claw tinctures. The parsley is for the mercury and general detox. The Samento is for the West Nile Virus and Epstein-Barr Virus. I know some of you have taken Samento Cat's Claw for Lyme. I'm supposed to build up on this one. I'm wondering how much is too much? I started with one drop 2x a day. That didn't seem to do anything, so I eventually got frustrated, and started taking 4-5 drops 2x a day. That doesn't even seem to be much. For those of you who took Samento, what kind of symptoms did you have when you took too much?

I also don't understand why the Samento is so darn expensive. I paid almost $50 for a one ounce bottle of this tincture  . You'd think this stuff is gold! I'm taking Samento TOA-Free from NutraMedix.

I don't tolerate the alcohol in the tinctures very well. I have to mix the drops with water. I always wonder if that dilutes it's strength.

Corn syrup seems to be a big problem for anyone with IBS. :( I read about that before. The HFCS is the worst!

Yes, high fructose corn syrup is evil. They actually concentrate the fructose into a form that is not found naturally. No wonder so many people don't do well with it. I learned through my BioSET treatments how bad HFCS is. I've been avoiding it ever since.

I am now out of peanut butter and am going to stay that way. This week is the first week where I begin elimination of Candida no-no's gradually. It is difficult to stay away from the sugar, I too, am addicted. Having low blood sugar certainly makes things more difficult.

Sincerely,

Jin

How I love peanut butter too! This is one of the things I had to after my 1st LED treatment, but it was only for 24 1/2 hours.

I find that my blood sugar evens out when I avoid sugar. It's eating all the sugar and simple carbs that cause my blood sugar to tank.

T needs to build up to 7 drops 3x daily of the Comp Asyra; M & S both take one for foods....M 5 drops 3x daily and S 3 drops 3x daily. M needs to build up to 10 drops 3x daily and S needs to build up to 3 drops 3x daily.

The boys aren't on anything else yet since we didn't have an ART session to test everything.

I don't know about the alcohol in the cat's claw or tinctures (if they have alcohol). I know Rachel has done hers in warm water and let it sit for 1/2 hour so the alcohol could evaporate. T has the Babuna Sleep which is 25% ethanol. I haven't been giving that to her lately. I don't know about the ASYRA drops. It probably has some alcohol in it but it's not nearly as strong as the Babuna Sleep. I think I read it can be mineral water and alcohol or aloe. I'll have to ask Dr. E what's in it and how much alcohol if it is alcohol.

I take Prima Una De Gato by Allergy Research Group.

Open Original Shared Link

My Dr. wanted me to get up to about 18 drops a day. I have no problems taking this much (9 drops 2 x a day)...I've never gotten any noticeable symptoms as I increased the drops. My Lyme infection isnt severe though....some people cant take this many drops w/out getting symptoms.

Some people take 30+ drops per day....it really depends on the individual...some might only tolerate 5 drops...and others do fine with 35 drops.

I also don't understand why the Samento is so darn expensive. I paid almost $50 for a one ounce bottle of this tincture . You'd think this stuff is gold! I'm taking Samento TOA-Free from NutraMedix.

Mine is $50 as well...I think thats the norm for samento/cats claw tinctures.

The most expensive thing I've taken is NDF....at $100 for one ounce. The NDF is for chelating metals. I got very symptomatic with this one...I was only supposed to take 1/2 a drop every other day and slowly increase by 1/2 drop every week up to 3 drops per day (if possible).

1/2 drop seemed like nothing to me so I increased everyday and within 10 days I was taking 6 drops and having major problems. They had me stop taking it all together since my body wasnt ready for it yet. Too many metals got loose and I wasnt excreting them.....my kidneys were hurting. :(

I don't tolerate the alcohol in the tinctures very well. I have to mix the drops with water. I always wonder if that dilutes it's strength

I'm pretty sure Samento is supposed to be taken with water anyway....all of my tinctures get taken with water.

I react to alcohol (its in nearly everything I take)....my Dr.'s all told me to put the drops in warm water and let it sit. The alcohol evaporates and then I can tolerate it. I let it sit for like an hour before I take it.

miamia Rookie

Hey all-

ok a few things-

i normally react to things that contain alcohol but the black walnut i am taking for parasites has it and i am suprised that i actually have been tolerating it. ITs very weird but i am not complaining.

Donna-

it sounds like your detox diet contains alot of things my doc recenlty suggested to me.

I was feeling really frustrated the other day and kind of powerless or something so i decided to call my doctor.( the new one) I was shocked that i actually got through to him and was able to talk to him ( you all know this is rare!!!) So i loaded him with questions- i told him i felt like i was handling the chelation better . He was really happy to hear this. We are going to keep monitering this and if i am able we will increase the dose since i am only doing 1/3 of a normal dose right now.

I asked him about retesting and he said after 10 chelations we wil retest.

I asked him if it was really bad that i was not taking the minerals right now becasue I just felt like i was overwhelming my body. I know he said to listen to my body when it came to these things but i just don't want to be hurting myself by not taking somehting i need. He told me that in the Iv with the chealtor they also put minerals so i am getting them there and he asked if i could try to take them 3 x's a week i think i might be able to do this.

I asked him about foods that would be helpful he gave me a list-

this is it more or less- cilantro, sea vegees, sulfur rich food, asparagus, dandelion greens, cucumber, bitter greens (collards, etc.) , garlic. There was some more but these ar the ones i wrote down becasue the others seemed really unappetizing. He also told me watermelon but i tod him i do really bad with swet stuff. But maybe since i am pretty good about sugar other wise i could try it- but again i react badly to sweet stuff so we will see.

I told him my bowels seem better ( fingers crossed -I really don't want to jinx this) after the 3 day vermox treatment i did . He was really happy to hear this. I might go on another 3 day treatment of it in 10 days. This is the only parasite killer i have ever been able to tolerate. It helped my bowels once before so I am thinking it might be a good thing to repeat. He said he pften recommends this because vermox will kill worms or whatever fun creatures are playing around in my gut(ok he didn't use those words) But it does not kill the eggs so it is good to repeat it in case there is something that arises that wasen't there during the first treatment.

Ok thats what i found out but i felt alot better when i got off the phone with him - like i had done something good for my health. At least my mental health seemed some what improved!!

I have been having weird symptoms the past few days they feel kind of like herxing symptoms - I am going to call tomorrow and describe these to my docs (plural ) .

For all of you that say you get "air hunger" what exactly do you mean by this-

Carla- I know you have said you get this. Could you describe it

Ok thats it for now hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Dear Carla,

It is very possible that the bad bacteria multiplied to quickly for the good to catch up. I read something interesting about that recently. Women's World said that artificial sweeteners cause bad bacteria to multiply in 56 or 57 percent of women! I am not surprised. I think I am allergic to artificial sweeteners, because it seems I get so gassy and more nauseated whenever I have had them.

It is the same with tap water. :(

I was surprised to learn that Tibetan food is greasy, too! :o Most Asian cuisines are not as fattening as American cuisine. I know more about Chinese food than anything. Thai food uses a lot of tiber chilis. I like hot stuff, so I think I would like that a lot! Maybe the Dalai Lama's brother is married to a Thai?

Dear Donna,

Thank you for wishing me good luck on the diet! I am so glad someone else has such a hard time with sugar! It is so hard to stop eating. I will say once you have been without it, it is easier to resist than if you had it recently. My doctor said I could have a natural form of sugar, like maple syrup once a week, and that would be fine.

That stone massage sounded amazing! I bet it felt so good! By the way you described it so well, I could practically feel the stones and towels on me! :) It would not hurt to have a gorgeous adonis-like guy named Sven be doing the massage either. What could it hurt?

The nut butters are a problem with the oil. Mine always dry out after I have them in the fridge. Then there is the predicament of opening them. Making a mess is the typical result. No matter how careful I try to open it, I still end up with oil all over the place!

Dear Kat and Donna,

You guys will have to take turns being Queen of Laziness. That way, neither of you will get worn out! After all, being royalty of any kind is exhausting! We can have you guys alternate.

One stays on the royal sofa, while the other in the jacuzzi. ;)

Dear Rachel,

I am glad I mentioned the dentist, then! It is easy to forget! In my case, since my teeth are so bad, I am definitely lucky to have gotten in so quickly. Plus, Dad says this one takes his patients right on time. I am just so nervous right now, because I am afraid of my stomach acting up, as it already is. :(

It is so great they found a place for LED locally for you! I wish I lived somewhere else. Our town is so behind on things! We do not have what others do. There is even a shortage of regular dentists here! I will be anxious to hear about the saliva ASYRA results! Oh yeah, and LED is only 3 days away!

Those chewy chocolate cookies sound so good! I am trying to figure out a way to reduce my sugar intake with those. I am not sure exactly what to use. Those artificial sweeteners do not tend to agree with me. The bacterial dysbiosis factor is the likely culprit.

What was so funny was when you said that you were always the one to get lost in the dreams, what Donna said. She said "You were not lost, I just could not find you!" It was hilarious! You are sitting there thinking "But if you cannot find me, doesn't that mean the same things as lost?" We have to play the game "Where's Rachel?" instead of "Where's Waldo?"

Dear tom,

Oh tomatha!:P You silly man! Don't you know going cold turkey is deadly to someone with low glucose? The last time I tried to go cold turkey, I nearly passed out from low blood sugar! Mine even tends to be low right after I eat! Slow and steady wins the race!

I love to make up goofy anagrams, too! It is just something I love to do! I have no idea why.

Playing with words is always fun. Sometimes, I play this word game where I try to go through the alphabet and find a fruit or animal or something for each letter. This also helps wake your brain up when you need to write an essay or something.

Dollface does overdo it, but she is angry. I do not think Bella wants to try to reason with her. Besides, she does have good judgment. Hopefully, for his sake, C. Spice will not be in Boca. Everyone seems to go there when there is a contract out on them to hide! They always get killed! You would think they would learn by now!

ROFLMAO! I was just thinking "I wonder what tom will say about this!" when I heard about the President Bush having a colonoscopy! On what you said, there does appear to be a connection between those two ends that is rather strong! Can you tell me which end is up? They are so much alike.

Let's face it. All politicians, especially the President of the United States is fair game. You cannot help but make fun of them. It does not matter if they are Republican or Democrat, or Independent. All of them are full of crap! Well, except for President Bush at the moment, because he is all clean now!

The almond butter is difficult to stir or even open without making a huge mess. I have not been able to figure out how to avoid making a huge mess while opening it, or while doing anything else with it. All of the oil disappears somewhere after it is refrigerated. Then, it dries out! Even if I could afford to get some cashew or almond butter (it is like $10 to $13 a jar), I am not sure how to solve that problem!

Dear Andrea,

I hope the children do alright on the drops. As long as you monitor the dosage, I am sure they will be fine. This stuff can be a lot to try and get straight. Meanwhile, you seem to be on top of things. Being organized helps a lot.

Dear Kat,

That was a great idea! Getting married at a stadium makes everything much easier! I wish I would have thought of that! You do not have to worry about a caterer, invitations, or anything else! That is smart!

Dear Claire,

Peanut butter is so hard to stop eating! Now that I do not have any I can eat, I am going to have to keep it that way! It sucks because I cannot afford almond butter or cashew butter. Keeping it in edible shape is difficult, too. The oil spills all over the place.

You know, until most of us got ill, I do not think we realized how evil HFCS is! I get queasy from corn syrup, always have. Pure maple syrup is fine. Dad says he always felt yucky after having anything with corn syrup. I think it is too sweet. Since it is not natural, I think that it is absorbed too quickly and metabolized differently, leading to the problems it causes.

My blood sugar is low no matter what I eat! I did the Zone while getting some bloodwork done before. I had eaten only about an hour or hour and a half before going to get my blood drawn. I had eaten natural pineapple only in its juice, some cottage cheese, and macadamia nuts. The results came in at a later appointment, and my glucose level was only 67! Normal is 80.

I really seem to do better when I have starchy foods. I tend to keep on an even keel more if I eat a potato or corn chips. However, the salt seems to help me. I read about Neurally Mediated Hypotension. I told my last doctor about how I was feeling weird and like passing out, and he said my blood pressure was a bit low. That can cause that. Then, I found that article, and since adding the Himalayan sea salt, seem to have a bit more energy.

It is not surprising Cat's Claw is pricey. Many herbs are. They are worth the price when you can afford them, though. It looks like they have not left any stones unturned. This is great.

Dear Mia,

That is such wonderful news! I am so glad you are tolerating the Vermox! You probably are improving if it gets rid of parasites! They can cause so many horrible physical and psychological issues. I hope the improvement continues!

It is so great you got to speak to your doctor. Sometimes you just need reassurance. The fact he actually took the time to speak with you about your concerns and answer your questions is huge! Most doctors do not do that anymore. You might be herxing, like you said. Those strange symptoms are a possible sign. In fact, I wonder if I have been herxing some of the time from the salt.

Sincerely,

Jin

P.S. Thank you for the link Rachel! I will check that out!

P.S.S. Has anyone spoken to Julie, JennyK, Lisa, or Rinne? I am worried about them.

Well, stupid liver function test is done and I'm back to my normal schedule...well, I think I'll introduce the supplements a couple each day...I've been off them for 3 days (decided to go supplement free obviously). The test wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be...but still don't like having those vials in my fridge.

OMG Donna....I sooooo want HOT STONES on my back!!!

OK....I think I *need* to do this. Where do I sign up??

It's a place in Willow Glen, on Lincoln Ave. Might be a little out of the way for you, but I can send you the info if you want.

I also don't understand why the Samento is so darn expensive. I paid almost $50 for a one ounce bottle of this tincture  . You'd think this stuff is gold! I'm taking Samento TOA-Free from NutraMedix.

Yep, I take two of the NutraMedix drops...Cumanda and Banderol and they are both $50!!! Luckily I get to rotate them so they last a long time. Scott told me to take like 10 drops twice a day, but Anna tested them and said I should only take 5 drops twice a day...so looks like they'll last even longer. I also put all my drops in water.

Where do you get the parsley? Scott told me that would be good for me, but I haven't seen any drops, and don't even think I saw capsules...I bought fresh, but I can't do that all the time because of the mold.

For all of you that say you get "air hunger" what exactly do you mean by this-

Carla- I know you have said you get this. Could you describe it

I never thought I had this symptom, but I've been thinking about it for the last few weeks and I do have it (or at least I THINK I do, or at least something like it). For me, it's like I'm breathing, but I can't get enough air. I feel like I have to constantly take really deep breaths to get any air. Not sure that's exactly it. It doesn't happen all the time, just sometimes. Like even right now, I feel like I need to breathe deeper to get air.

That stone massage sounded amazing! I bet it felt so good! By the way you described it so well, I could practically feel the stones and towels on me! :) It would not hurt to have a gorgeous adonis-like guy named Sven be doing the massage either. What could it hurt?

Yeah, I could definitely go for the jacuzzi/couch rotation thing. We could enlist Sven to bring us food and drink.

Alas, no Sven types at this place. :P

The nut butters are messy to mix that's for sure. The guy in the grocery store (people like to talk to me about the strangest stuff, lol) told me to store it in your cabinet upside down, then all the oil goes to the top (which is really the bottom of the jar). When you open it, the oil is on the bottom supposedly. I still found that the oil spurts out when I try to mix it, so sometimes when it's getting time to open a new jar, I'll turn the jar over a few times over the course of a day or two. Seems to help a little.

Well, that's great that the test is behind you--and it didn't turn out to be too bad.

I just turned the jar of almond butter I bought yesterday upside down in my pantry. :P

I spent EIGHT HOURS (and drove two to get there) of arduous work in a hot (90 + degrees) warehouse to get my two Restoration Hardware down-stuffed linen couches (heaven, I am telling you) at their annual sale. One couch was $300 (had a leg missing) and out of the hundreds of couches in there I did find another one that MATCHED it - a miracle, I tell you. Stood in line for three hours to pay. Then stood in line for shipping for another two. Utterly heinous but worth it. I think I lost five pounds that day.

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE my couches.

[oops - total nonsensical hijack, apologies, I am SO far behind from my three-day shutout and then relatives visiting at my mom's, have no idea what's going on here  ]

CArry on! :)

I was feeling really frustrated the other day and kind of powerless or something so i decided to call my doctor.( the new one) I was shocked that i actually got through to him and was able to talk to him ( you all know this is rare!!!)

Isn't that great when you can talk to the doctor! I'm so glad he was able to talk to you and set your mind at ease.

It's great that you are feeling better too......step by step. :D

P.S.S. Has anyone spoken to Julie, JennyK, Lisa, or Rinne? I am worried about them.

I've seen Julie reading a couple days ago. Haven't seen the others, but Rinne was on a couple days ago, last time I checked.

I'm glad it's over.....didn't even know you'd started it. :)

Thanks for the tip for the nut butters. I usually have my hubby do it since he can open the lid easier and is stronger to stir clear to the bottom.

Hi Susan! :)

Mia!! What a gem of a Dr you have! :)

<ugh what tomtom wouldn't have given for a good doc 10 yrs ago :( >

Donna, I'm entirely (. . . . . .arrrgh so many words *almost* fit . .. . . . . Aha!! . .. .) nonplussed(!) at the hot rock massage being in Willow Glen!!! :D

One the one hand, it seems I shouldn't be surprised, but on the other I bet I'd walked past it 6-8x just DAYS AGO!!!:lol: (as long as it's one of those on the W side of Lincoln. Hmmm are ANY on E side?)

JIN!! Too much to respond to in your latest column! :) Until I get a tappy-enhanced memory, I'll keep resorting to separate responses for yours.

What the . .. ?? Since when does Tsu-zhan mischaracterize a perfectly congruous low-trajectory tangent as a HIJACK!!!

Does 3 days offline cloud one's perception and remembrance of months of silliness?

Couches, and recliners, are essential components in re-energizing!! The restorative properties of some have been immortalized in song! (Or maybe just *will* be once I figure out how to end the chorus ;) )

Hope you're back online for good. If not, power-cycle that modem!! :)

P.S. I'm forumizing in a great coffeehouse in Tempe (roaster is just steps from register :P ), and noticed a girl w/ a Medical Nutrition textbk.

Can't think of what I could ask her, but I bet she knows some things I wish I knew!! Anyone want a free nutrition consult in the next 30min??? :o

Hi everyone!

Susan, I think the topic for this thread has something to do with dairy or corn ... so, the WHOLE THING is basically OFF TOPIC!!!!

Your sofas sound wonderful!

Miamia, when I get air hunger it's like I can't breath in enough air. It will go on for a while sometimes and drive me nuts. I end up yawning to breath. It's especially bad if it happens near bedtime because it's even harder if I'm lying down.

When I first started getting it about 4 years ago, I would sometimes hyperventilate. I did some research on hyperventilation way back then, so I've forgotten most of it ... but I did learn that if I breathed out completely, then waited about four counts, then breathed in completely, wait about four counts, that I would not hyperventilate. Concentrating on my breathing like this also helps me feel like I'm getting enough air.

Also, breath from your diaphram ... you will look like a baby with your tummy going in and out .... this is how we are supposed to breath ... most people breath from their shoulders. Breathing is one avenue of detoxification, so deep breathing like this is very good for you.

Fortunately, after 6 months of babs treatment, I only get air hunger when I'm herxing.

Not off topic ta all...I see that Tom touched briefly on this already so I'm just adding my agreement. My couch is ESSENTIAL to my recovery from whatever it is I'm recovering from. :P

Shucks, missed the free nutrition session...good thing I just had one. :P You were probably walking in the densest part of Willow Glen, this place is down farther...almost by Curtner Avenue. It's called Just for Your Health--it's also a school.

Do the skin care products that give you a rash list wheat as an ingredient or are you assuming from your reaction that they contain gluten? It is possible that not only do you have celiac disease, which is not an allergy but an autoimmune disorder, but that you also have a wheat allergy.

Thank you, I’m very happy to be here!! Yes, lately I get rashes and itching when I accidentally use topical skin products with gluten in them. I got a bad rash around my hairline after unknowingly using glutenous hairspray, and a near-full-body rash with a sea salt spray that I guess I rinsed off insufficiently in the shower. Neither looked like typical dermatitis herpetiformis to me based on the posts I’ve read here—both were just large patches, red and slightly raised, with no blisters to speak of. At least yet. The sea salt spray was used yesterday and I noticed the itching this morning, with the rash forming obviously by this afternoon and evening.

Thanks so much for your thorough reply! I was able to schedule with the local pediatric gastroenterologist who specializes in celiac but we have to wait 3 months to see her.

Sorry, meant to type "or dermatitis herpetiformis for short". What? Every time I try it, the abbreviation for this skin condition is converted to the full length term. I'm trying to type "D" followed by "H".

Welcome to the forum, allis! By "skin response to gluten products" are you saying you develop a rash when you use lotions, creams, shampoos, etc. that contain gluten? One of the classical symptoms of celiac disease is a skin rash known as dermatitis herpetiformis or "dermatitis herpetiformis" for short. Celiac disease is the only known cause for dermatitis herpetiformis. It has a distinct appearance. It has little blisters or pustules in the bumps. Does this sound like what you experience? Is so, it might be possible to get a punch biopsy done when you are having an outbreak. This would be an alternative to eating gluten. If your skin biopsy was positive for dermatitis herpetiformis you could be diagnosed with celiac disease on that basis alone. Apart from that, I know of no other way to get a diagnosis apart from returning to eating gluten for a period of weeks.
