Julie, I'm not finding it difficult yet.

Patti, I'm glad to hear you are doing well with juggling the move and your meals. I agree that planning ahead is key.

Carla, thanks for the info on lyme "recovery" and :o about the lead in chocolate......

rinne, I'm all for "renutrifying" being a word :lol:

I am so glad to hear you are doing better, slowly but surely, with the protocol you've been following, treatments you've been doing :D

melmak, everything and anything can be a possible allergen or a food/substance one can become sensitive to. It is true rice is considered to be low-allergenic, but it isn't for everybody.

Rachel recently posted a lot of info about gut dysbiosis (maladapted intestinal mileu), immunity, and increase in allegies/sensitivities. It could be that your body is so overburdened by the dysbiosis that you are reacting more and more to everything.

Where are Ami, Donna, Rachel, Andrea, and Kassandra??

I've been wondering what the dr's told Ami about the chelation/pregnancy and if Kassandra got a stool test???

Jin, I agree with Susie- go with your gut and where your heart leads you.

I am so confused about my career path. I am not sure what to do. Should I be an attorney, or a naturopathic doctor? I keep asking myself over and over that exact question. What do you guys think? Which do you feel I would be better at?

I was going to say naturopath but with your other posts maybe a lawyer would be better sutied for you.

I have been 48 hours rice-free and while I don't feel 100%, its like my head has been lifted out of a fishbowl and I am not in pain! (Ok, I am really bloated and my gut is still making weird noises, but no sharp pain)

Hopefully the allergy test will tell you more. Are you being tested for IgE (immediate) and IgG (delayed) allergies?

I get Dr. Mercola's newsletter ... some of it's interesting, most I don't actually read. Well, today it was about how they want to start taking cocoa butter out of chocolate and use cheaper veg. oil and still call it chocolate. Anyway, in the article he mentions that chocolate is high in LEAD!!! Well, for those of us wondering where we got out lead toxicity .... <_<

I haven't looked at it yet but I get the newsletter too. I love my enjoy life chocolate chips!

This might sound naive, but I feel like I have the opposite of a leaky gut, everything feels stuck. I cannot eat very much before feeling very full, if I do keep eating I often regurgitate it, and I am rocking 2 different laxatives with moderate relief.

I'd work off of the laxatives and go with more natural remedies. Vit C, Magnesium I know were two of them. I think my doctor had also written down borage seed oil and flax.

Rinne,

I've been inching towards the right frame of mind to quit and you just hip-checked me fwd a meter or two. (a lil canadian flavah in that last part :P )

You can do it!

Yay!!! on your recent activities. So happy you are feeling so much better. Enjoy your last 3 weeks in Phx......I assume you'll be finishing the move during this time.

(psssttt....I get there long before you even wake up anyway and I'm fast me thinks). ;)

:lol::lol:

Tom, do it. :)

The noxious weed. :angry::lol:

I am taking up golf and reclaiming my body. I don't seem to be suffering withdrawal to any great extent, I am wondering if all the detoxing I have done up to this point and the efforts I have made to lean into health are helping. B)

Thanks Julie, renutrifying it is.

I do think it is as critical as detoxing, without restoring the nutrients we need for wellness we cannot get well.

Time to get out into holiday world. See you soon. :)

I didn't know there was a difference. My appointment is the first with this allergist, but the receptionist said that he will do testing the day-of. I will ask about the different types, thank you!

If they aren't doing a blood draw then it won't be for IgG. The doctor I go to uses US Biotek for food sensitivity testing although there are others out there. You would probably need to specify that you wanted it done. If you are seeing an allergist......many of them don't believe in delayed food reactions.

Julie,

I'm here! :D

I was posting on other threads....and other boards...but I'm still here. :)

I'll let you guys know about my plans when I get some time to post. I still have to find out what it costs to fly to WA (round trip) cuz that would have alot to do with what a decide. :)

Andrea....Michelle told me its around a couple hundred bucks?? Does that sound right??

I was thinking alot more than that but I dont fly much....and frankly I dont enjoy it much.

Anyways...if shes right I could probably go to WA once a month!! :)

Sounds about right to me. Could be less at times depending on specials. It's usually the hotel costs that add up quickly. I'll offer our place, but it's about a three hour drive away from Bellevue and you may not do well here. Of course you'd be able to tell us whether mold was a problem.

I will definately make the drive up to see you if you can get the plans together to do so though. My children love the clinic......it got to the point that S would always clap his hands and make an excited sound when he saw we were turning into the complex.

Once a month would be good spacing probably. That would be so great!

Hi, another drive-by, but I'll be catching up soon.

This was posted by our favorite alternative expert over on LN .... it's an at home laser detox kit that's useful for anyone. /www.andreannarainville.com/

Andrea, I was thinking it might be a good alternative for you since it's only $200 and you use it whenever you want. Since you already know what needs to be done, you could work on it with this with your whole family. I was also thinking it might be good for me and my family since we don't have this available and are already spending a fortune on medical treatment (and college). It's better than the alternative of doing nothing. :)

And, as an added bonus, the poster said it got rid of her age spots ... important to those of us who are slightly vain. LOL

I seem to be falling into my regular monthly herx ... this is my first one on Bart treatment ... I think my brain is falling out of my head! I can't seem to comprehend a lot, so hi to everyone.

Here's an article on the lead in chocolate. I didn't read it, I'll read it when my brain comes home ... but it's the one Mercola refers to. Open Original Shared Link

Hello all,

I did not have a stool test because I think it was the blueberries I had been eating. But I do need to go back to my Doctor to talk about this bloating! I think something else is going on. I am not joking I can gain up to 5 lbs in ONE NIGHT :o !!!!!! (All in my stomach mind you!) Keep in mind I only weigh about 115 lbs and am 5' 4".

I am actually highly allergic to antibiotics, not just a herx reaction. When I was about 2 or 3, I broke out in hives/welts all over my body, my lips swelled, etc. The whole nine yards! That was within about 15-30 min. of taking them. We then tried other ones and I has the same reaction to all of them. Since that happened my Dr. refuses to try them again since reactions only get worse and worse.

So, I think I want to call IGeneX and get the kit mailed to me so we can just take it with us to the Dr. so he has no excuse to not order it.

I am actually starting to feel better, more energy, etc. except today! lol! I have been taking Salmon Oil and it makes SUCH a difference. I can actually study and REMEMBER the info I studied! That's HUGE for me! Last year I couldn't ever remember anything. I am very happy about this improvement, but I still am nauseous after everything I eat (even drinking water) and go back and forth between C and D, no matter what I do. I am hoping the next step will be my back surgeon and then the Lyme testing. I also want to find a good LLMD before I start with that whole road because I want to make sure I have a plan. I posted on Lame Advertisement and someone gave me a very typical medical doctor's name. I really want to go more alternative as I can't take abx.

So, I'll keep everyone updated as I go. We actually picked up my x-rays and MRI today from the Hospital (from June when I was hospitalized for my disc bulge) so we can take them with us to CHLA for my appt. We are going to try to see if they can get me in earlier than Halloween because I want to get this ball rolling.

I have a question for anyone who can answer. I wake up at 5.10 am every morning to leave the house by 6.10 to get to school by 7.00. I am in desperate need for something to wake me up. I know caffeine and I do NOT get along (found this out 2 weekends ago...felt like I was on freakin' speed!!!!!!!) but I need something to help me wake up as I almost fall asleep while on the freeway to school! Any ideas? I have heard a cold apple first thing in the morning helps, but I have had no luck. I also thought about decaf coffee because I just love the taste of coffee, and the warmth when it's freezing, but I am really hesitant to start that habit.

Sorry my post is so all over the place, but I am really out of it today. I got a wisdom tooth LAST NIGHT!!!!!!! Can you believe that....in one freakin' night?! It hurts so badly! :(

Where are Ami, Donna, Rachel, Andrea, and Kassandra??

I'm back. Thanks for asking. I've been sleeping and in shock (j/k) most of the time since I posted on Saturday. I have been so tired. I finally feel better today. I saw my doctor this morning. They did another test to confirm that I'm indeed pregnant. He said that at this stage of pregnancy it is so protected and there was only a short amount of time that metals would have been mobilized that he's confident no harm has been done. We will stop the chelations for now. He wants me to continue on the thyroid meds he gave me. He gave me some DHEA to take in place of the cortisone I was taking for my adrenals. I also got a really good prenatal vitamin from him. He believes that giving me the extra t4 got my thyroid in check and that's how I became pregnant so easily. My husband and I had tried in the past. In the past 2 years we have also not done anything to prevent pregnancy. Then a month and a half on this protocol and I'm pregnant?? I thought this was pretty wild. I was only 4 days late on Saturday when I tested so I'm in the very early stage of pregnancy. So now I need to find an OB. The OB that delivered my youngest son has since retired. I really dislike looking for a new doctor and especially an OB. My doctor couldn't recommend one. So tomorrow I'll start that process. Thanks for all your responses the other day. I was pretty freaked out...I really wasn't expecting 2 lines to show up. But, now that the shock has worn off and that I've talked to my doctor I'm really excited as is my husband. We still haven't told the boys yet. We were thinking of having a nice dinner and telling them over dinner. They'll be excited too I think :)

Eucalyptus oil. Put about 10-15 drops in your shower (just drop it onto the floor and let the steam activate the scent) or enhale straight from the bottle lol throughout the morning. I dunno, works for me :)

I really pop in at the most random times

Ami, I'm still excited for you!

Kassandra, you might want to specify that you want the name of a doctor who is open to herbal or other protocols as you are allergic to all abx. I'm sure someone will have a name.

Quick drive by for me too...I'll be heading home very late tonight so hope to get more caught up this weekend. I have been lurking and reading most of the posts, but not much time online so not posting.

I'm finding what's working for me now is having doctors who are willing to think outside the traditional medicine box.

Yes, for me too. My main doc is an MD but sharp on alternative stuff and lyme literate. My allergist once told me, "If it helps one person, it is worth taking a look at it." I think having doctors with this attitude is truly a gift.

Cool...actually Michelle had said about $150....but I just found that really hard to believe. If thats the case its totally doable for me. :)

I wouldnt need to worry about a hotel or anything since its not for LED....theres no reason I cant go up there and come home the same day. Thats what I'd probably do.

This is what I'm thinking.

I want to make sure the metals are coming out properly...this is the hardest part and without ART or a Dr. who REALLY understands the metals it can possibly take a very long time or I might run into "hang ups".

The same type of things I've brought up for discussion here in the past. "Roadblocks"....either the chelator isnt working any more...something else needs to be used to get metals out from specific areas, some metals are not coming out because of unknown emotional stuff, etc., etc. Just about anything can come up that might stop me from detoxing all the metals.

Most Dr.'s arent equipped for that....especially if they dont use ART.

Theres just no way for me to know how things are gonna progress as far as my body excreting the metals. Nobody is questioning that mercury is the problem now...so I really want to make sure I'm working with the one who's got the most experience with it.

I'm gonna do the provoked urine test this week...and possibly another hair analysis to see how that comes out....compared to what it looked like 3 years ago.

Since mercury is the one that wont necessarily show up in testing....I cant count on those results to guide me....ART would be much better for that. I think once the mercury comes out the other metals will follow pretty easily....thats my understanding anyways.

The accumulation of metals mainly stems from the heavy mercury burden...and that may not show up in hair or urine for a long time. Thats what was scaring me the most but I'm told not to worry...that it will come out in time...but I do need to make sure I'm getting tested often enough and working with someone who gets to know me really well.

I like Amy alot and would love it if I could see her more often cuz right now I think I need more freqent testing. She understands the whole picture and she really understands heavy metal detox.

The only other person I would consider is Andreanna and I've heard nothing but good things about her (same as Amy).

Her resume is here...

Open Original Shared Link

and I got this info. from another site..

Andreanna Vaughan, RN has more than twenty years of professional healthcare experience and is one of the most sought-after practitioners of nutritional medicine in the USA and Europe.

She has served for many years as nurse and teaching assistant for Dietrich Klinghardt, MD, PhD, and other than Klinghardt, is the only approved instructor for the American Academy of Neural Therapy. Andreanna is also certified as a Chiropractic Assistant, Herbalist, SkaSys Instructor, Licensed Massage Therapist, and Healthexcel Metabolic Typing Advisor. In addition, she has taught at the Port Townsend School of Massage. Andreanna currently consults for numerous noted physicians worldwide and operates a part-time nutritional medicine and Neural Therapy practice in Seattle.

Andreanna is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate in Nursing from the University of Hawaii. She has completed advanced training in blood chemistry analysis, electro-acupuncture and Vega testing, German functional medicine techniques, allergy elimination techniques, Autonomic Response Testing, Applied Psycho-kinesiology, Thought Field Therapy, and color therapy.

I know someone who sees her and she's highly recommended for my particular situation. Shes been in the business a long time....alot of years doing ART. That would be the main difference....just the fact that shes been doing it a long time. I already am familiar with Amy though....and I like her alot....so thats where I'm stuck.

Either way I'd want to go up to WA and get seen about once a month. I just have to figure out cost....whos easier to schedule with and things like that. I still dont know how many more weeks until I see Amy again.

If my body is releasing the metals without problems....I'm sure I could just continue with what I'm doing and with who I'm seeing...but there is just no way to know what problems might come up. Thats why I think it would be good to work with the same person who is using ART and totally understands every part of it.

I feel more comfortable when I'm being tested on a regular basis.

I'm feeling pretty good about everything. I'm always communicating with people trying to make sure I'm making the best decisions and staying on the right path. Everyone is very confidant that I'm going in the right direction and having no doubts that I'll recover...that makes me feel less stressed. I could never get tired of hearing those words! :)

CarlaB Enthusiast

Funny, Rachel, that nurse of Dr. K's is the one selling the lasers.

Chloe and I both flew to NY for about $350. If you call around you can get a good price on flights. Generally you will want to book at least two weeks in advance.

So you can't get to the website? Here, maybe this will work, I had an extra slash in it last time. Or you can go to the site Rachel posted and look at Laser Balancing. The site is copyrighted.

Funny, Rachel, that nurse of Dr. K's is the one selling the lasers.

You can get the lasers anywhere I think.....you can learn to self-treat with lasers but its not the same as LED. What she is explaining on her site....and the laser kits....are not what is used in LED.

I would probably be interested in learning how to do my own laser treatments later on down the road....from what I understand it can help with alot of things.

Its not the same as LED though.

EDIT:

OK....Carla....I understand your post now. Thats what I get for prematurely posting.

I just read your laser post. :P

Yeah..."G" gets really excited about the lasers.....its one of her favorite things for self-treating *everything*. :)

She was trying to explain it to me but if I do end up seeing Andreanna she could actually teach me how to use it correctly. Its hard for me to "get it" unless I can actually see it being done.

Anna (BioSET) actually knows how to use lasers too...she did show me once but not in great detail.

Hi Matt, like you I lost almost 3stone over 2yrs, my symptoms were exactly as you describe .    I was eventually referred  to a consultant who has been treating me for reflective coeliac.  I’ve been taking(  Budenofalk 3mg )steroids for the past 9 mths  and the course is coming to an end shortly. I’ve gained 2 stone and feel so much better in myself. Im due an endoscopy at the end of the course of steroids so unable to say if my villi’s have returned or my digestive system has repaired. But like you I was besides myself with worry.  Apparently the condition is quite unknown and the consultant at the hospital I attend has been in contact  with  Sheffield hospital who specialises in this condition. I hope this helps,    Deanne

How are you doing, @sadiec123?  Did you get through the holidays alright?    Have you been checked for nutritional deficiencies?  Many newly diagnosed Celiacs  are low in Vitamin D and many of the B vitamins like thiamine.  Thiamin insufficiency can cause weight loss and loss of appetite (anorexia) as well as affect mood.   Benfotiamine has been shown to promote intestinal healing and improve mood.
    • knitty kitty
I agree, @Sarah Marie, it's best to keep eating gluten and get on the doctor's cancellation list.  Some people have extreme symptoms when reintroducing gluten after a brief abstinence.  Be sure she consumes six slices of bread or gluten-y equivalent a day in the two weeks prior to the endoscopy.  There are different amounts of gluten in different products.  Chewy pizza crust and artisan breads have more gluten than cookies and cakes. Keep us posted on your progress!
