My kids had blood tests due to my diagnoses of Celiac disease both came back (tTG) IgG positive one came back Antigliadin IgG positive, after there doc consulted with a Celiac specialist who will be seeing them in 6 weeks we were told to have more blood work done theses were more celiac tests one bieng a (tTG) IgA both of my boys tests on those came back negative. I am very confused, we don't have an appt with the specialist until July and my doc by his own admission dosen't know much about this. Can anyone tell me what they know about the difference, or why this would happen. Do they have Celiac?

Please any words would be good!

I would say yes, or at least gluten intolerance. IMHO, I am not a medical pro. but I believe these are positive tests. Are they having any symptoms, even non gluten seeming ones like ear infections, ADHD or ADD, moodiness, growing pains etc? If they are I would try to get your appointment moved up or look for a pediatric GI who could get you in sooner. You could also maybe use Enterolab for a second confirmation but I am pretty sure the tTg is pretty specific for celiac.

Thanks,

my oldest is ADHD medicated and has constant ear infections about 3 times a year, my youngest tTG IgG test came back >100 but the tTg IgA came back at like 4 (negative) He has some bathroom issues, and a distended belly (not severe) he gets ecema and reflux alot.

The GI doctor we are supposed to be seeing is a very well known celiac specialist, so it is a wait to get in with him. My doctor hasn't called me back to answer some more of my questions, so hopefully he can help me. Or hopefully some people in here can offer their input.

Have you had a DNA test to look for the most commonly occurring Celiac genes?   There's some scientific evidence that Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity is a precursor to Celiac Disease in genetically predisposed people. Which foods do you react to?  How do you react?

You are right, I just feel I may have not been on top of it and Ive caused damage for years without knowing. Seems like nothing though?

No, one crumb from a month before the blood test would not materially affect the results of the test. I sense you are devoting a lot more "worry energy" to this than it deserves. That will do you more harm than a tick over normal on the TTG-IGA score.

Sometimes I have a bit of stomach, discomfort, anxiety, tiredness, and soreness but nothing that stops by normal day to day activities. I work a ton and am very active so likely it is related to that and not my celiac but unsure with everyone's symptoms and stories I see online.  I will definitely start doing this every year from now on. Could one crumb of gluten from a month before that blood test caused that spike ? I am trying to really trace back and think
