Answer...

Called Sandoz today (5/31) and they said they do not use Gluten in any of their drugs. They use corn or potato starches, none are Rye, Wheat or Barley.

I'm sorry, Faegan--I missed your post this morning (was in a hurry to get ready to go out). Sandoz told me the same thing--I take one of their generics for my blood pressure. Glad you got an answer! :)

I called sandoz today.  12.17.18.  They would not say whether gluten ingredients were used.  Just said "we cannot certify that our products are gluten free."  So I believe sandoz products are not safe for celiac like me.

Unfortunately, drug companies do not have to follow the FDA guidelines.  The pharmaceutical companies lobby hard!  I think a bill was shot down twice in Congress.  So, consider advocating for this cause.

Your Sandoz amoxicillin online shows that it does not contain gluten ingredients.  But I took it two years ago.  Did I get glutened?  No way to prove it, but I am not using this manufacturer again.  Sandoz makes this in Romania now.

Consider supporting TEVA.  They disclose to the pharmacist who advocates for us.

We all need to be wary of our drugs whether we need to be gluten free or not:

Get involved and champion this cause!  If we can buy safely from a company like Kraft, we should be able to buy drugs safely too.

Thanks Scott! One more question how many of celiac had normal mucosa on naked eye (i mean endoscopy) but histology was postive like marsh 3 a or b?

Is it worth it to remove gluten before they potentially do an endoscopy & biopsy? I thought I read it’s best to be eating gluten for 3 months prior to it. So hoping they have a cancellation and call us in sooner.

      Thank you very much!

Thank you for the warning. I get blood tests twice a year to check where I stand with the vitamins I regularly take, so I appreciate the extra reminder. I know some vitamins don’t build up but now I will watch the B6 for sure.

I think you would do well to take a high potency B-complex such that you get more balanced dosage across the spectrum of B vitamins. They work in concert.
