Read your posts...I wish I could add something to help but I don't know anything more about celluitiis than it's painful and you have to elevate and wear some type of leg support stocking.

Just wish the leg was better and this episode was behind you.

Judy, I am so sorry that you are having such ups and downs. Also sorry that I have not been doing emails to you or anyone. You are a fighter and you will get through this. I know it is so hard not to be negative at times, but we have to try. I am still praying for you. MANY HUGS.

jenvan Collaborator

Oh Judy, how I wish I could do something to bring you tangible relief from all this. I am glad the itching is gone...hopefully that will stay away. That is a ton of scrapbooks!! Too bad Rachel and I and other scrapbookers can't come over and help you whip them out :) Wish I knew about Celulitis...maybe even after the infection is gone, it takes a few months for swelling and sensitivity to go away. Feel good enough to keep checking e-mail? Praying much for you today...

would a home ns have to be assigned like Armetta????

lot's of questions and i'm sorry but want to be ready for Q's for the dr tomorrow...YES, thinking positive..but don't want to be caught off guard w/o options...even if her doesn't have them.

I know you have alot on you plate now and hate to bother you with this.

Have a good evening, Judy! Good news that the leg is down a little bit--I'm happy to hear that you're going to get your rest, and let everything else wait. I know that's hard to do, but that's the thing about work--it'll wait for you :D

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, but had to take my son to the dentist for the last checkup after his oral surgery. He was a little angel, so things went great.

I can't think of what PICC stands for right now. It's basically a very heavy duty IV. We had a home health nurse to change the dressing on it once a week, but otherwise, I managed it. You have to be very sterile while changing out IV bags, though. I used to work as a nurse's aid in high school and am comfortable with things like that, so it wasn't hard. Meg's veins are so tiny and crooked b/c she's got a bad heart that a regular IV wouldn't even make it a day, usually. That's why the PICC was needed. Veins tend to weaken with heavy antibiotics (she was on vancomyacin and gentomyacin), so for long term it was the best for her. It does have to be placed by trained nurses or drs. Meg's was so hard to place that they had to do by radiology to even see a place to put it.

For home use, though, we had a portable IV pump that was in like a fanny pack that made it easeir to carry her around. I used a big laundry basket with a blanket for padding to put her and the IV pump and feeding tube pump all in. Made it much easier.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you have other questions. Leaving early tomorrow for Vanderbilt, but should check in later tonight.

Let me know if you have other questions. THANKS I WILL. Leaving early tomorrow for Vanderbilt, but should check in later tonight.

that "strange technique" is called contrast therapy and it can be very effective... I use it on my hands sometimes after especially busy weeks doing massage and it really helps.

Epsom salts or sea salts are also good to add to water as a soak to reduce toxins and inflammation, ask your Dr. or Chiropractor what they think about that...

I'm sorry this is hanging on for you and still giving you grief... take care of yourself please!

tHANKS WILL TELL DR AND CHIRO ABOUT IT TOMORROW AT APT IN AM AT 8:30

THINK IT SOUNDS LIKE IT SURE COULD WORK.

SENT YOU A NEAT EMAIL RE"VET" THOUGHT YOU COULD USE IT.

LOVE

JDUY

:) Judy, you are still in my prayers. I think the soak idea is a good one. I had to soak my leg in epsom salts when I had cellulitis from a nasty green head beach fly. We are getting a major soaking here in VA and I saw on the weather channel you were too. Tomorrow is supposed to be a breather before more on Thursday, so I hope the same for you and you have a great Weds. Humid rainy weather is not good when you already feel rotten. I like the idea of funny movies. Get hubby to stock up on some good comedy for when the rain comes back :)

I am so sorry Karen that yesterday was so bad for you. You are such a strong and happy person and I really admire your strength with dealing with your health. I hope today is much better for you.

Judy, let us know what the doctor and Chiro say.

I slept 4 hours straight, before the sweating woke me up. So, today will be better. Tomorrow will be better. The day after that will be better. etc. etc. etc.:lol: he he.

Welcome to the forum, @Art Maltman! Ask your physician to order serum antibody tests specifically designed to detect celiac disease. That's the place to start but you shouldn't be on a gluten free diet some weeks before the blood draw. You certainly have some symptoms that are characteristic of celiac disease and you have a first degree relative that has celiac disease. So, I think this would be an appropriate request to bring to your physician. Here is an article outlining the various serum antibody tests that can be ordered when checking for celiac disease:   The physician may not be open to ordering a full panel but push for at least these two: total IGA and tTG-IGA. By the way, absence of gut pain is very common in the celiac population. We call them "silent" celiacs as they have no or very minor symptoms. There are over 200 symptoms and spinoff health issues that have become associated with celiac disease and the range of symptoms and effects produced by the disease in different individuals various tremendously.

About 5 Months ago I got a little bit sick and since then I have been having trouble focusing, rembering, thinking thought through, having pressure on my head and even just talking to friends normaly has become a challange. I also have been having yellowish poops. My father was has celiac but I am not sure if thats what is causeing my problems becasue I dont have any abdomnial pain like him. i have also tried going gluten free for a week with no results, but maybe i just need to try for longer. I have gone to doctors but they haven't had really any ideas as to whats wrong with me they just say it could be anything and try this drug maybe it will work. I really am tired of feeling terrible all the time and if any one knows if these symptoms are common to celiac or has any other ideas whats wrong with me please let me know.
