So i have a question and im trying to think of the best way to ask it, basically what is the cemical compound that creates the lubracent from the vagina, im just trying to figure out if it contains things that are passed into the blood or anything to find out if there is a risk of glutaning from such acts that i will not mention. yes i know this is avery obserd question and i could not think of another way to ask it

Umm, since a man is gluten-free, my guess is a woman is, too.

Keep in mind that you're stomach and your gag reflex may be slightly out of whack right now... :) If it makes you sick right now, that doesn't necessarily mean that it will make you sick two months down the road. I know I have a really hard time with *clears throat* ya know.

MySuicidalTurtle Enthusiast

Well, semen can contain gluten if the man is not gluten-free. I don't know about women, though.

Guhlia Rising Star

I thought that semen didn't contain gluten... I know there was a long thread on this a while ago, but I think it may have gotten deleted. I can't find it. I thought the general concensus was that it was gluten free. Please correct me if I'm wrong because it makes me really sick.

Someone needs to find that really extensive thread that discusses this topic. I can't find it right now, and I'm pretty sure parts of it got deleted....but I think the answer is still in there somewhere....

CarlaB Enthusiast

The consensus of the previous thread was that it was gluten-free. However, that it did have protein that may bother some just because it was a protein, if I remember correctly.

Thanks Carla. Now a big question before this post gets deleted. If the protein makes me sick, is it likely that it's doing celiac-like damage?

MySuicidalTurtle Enthusiast

I remember seeing a study of what seman consists of and a small percent was gluten- for a man who eats gluten.

CarlaB Enthusiast

My guess would be no since it's not gluten. You could just start off that way and finish the other. That shouldn't make you sick.

Hopefully, whoever quoted the study that checked for gluten in semen can answer this question. I'm just going on memory.

Lister, you are quite the character, when are you going to get a picture of yourself on here????

It may not be doing that type damage but that doesn't mean your body isn't saying not to injest. We can have allergies to each others bodily fluids, not common, but intolerances may be possible too.

I'm probably gonna be sorry I found this, but here it is--

I tried googling it but didn't find anything...any biochemical engineers out there?

I know I read in cosmo once (very scientific  ) that what a man eats affects the flavor of the...stuff. So maybe gluten can get in?

Guest nini

I would have to say that the possibility of gluten being in those fluids is more probable than not... having some experience with anatomy and physiology for my studies I would be led to believe that it is possible for gluten to be in "those" fluids... and considering that "I" get ill from said fluid and I'm a very sensitive sort to minute amounts of said proteins... so personal opinion would be that said fluids do and can possibly contain trace amts. of gluten...

Lister Rising Star

im not refuring to man semen, im talking about female fluids and if those are safe, from what i can tell men are not but i dont think i have to worry about that

CarlaB Enthusiast

ROFLMAO I think everyone was comparing that if men's had it, women's might, and vice versa.

I pm'd a person about 2 weeks ago with the same question here is their partial reply

"lol :-) no problem. :-) it's a good question to ask, and just means that you're thinking about all possibly sources of gluten contamination. good for you! :-)

We've had the question a few times before over the past couple years, and there doesn't seem to be any reason to believe that something as large as the gluten protein would make it through the production process for semen and seminal fluid. The organs that produce the elements of the ejaculate fluid provide only the necessary components - the sperm itself, fructose to supply energy to the sperm, and alkaline and lubricating agents (to help ensure conception).

There's no where for gluten, even if the person consuming it had a very leaky gut and it was making it out of the intestinal tract, and into the blood stream (which shouldn't be happening), there's no good way for it to get out of the bloodstream and into the fluid production glands."

I decided to believe said person. Since they know a lot, but I will not name them :)

Guest nini

I know you were referring to female fluid... I think all of us are aware of that... we are just comparing the two and the possibility if one has it the other does too and if one doesn't then the other wouldn't... get it?

The incredibly scientific cosmo article I was referring to earlier (it was peer reviewed, I'm sure  ) also said that what the girl ate determined what she would taste like. Just a thought.

About women though, lets face it, we produce a heckuvalot less fluids then men do. In the off, and I mean VERY off chance gluten can get through, it would me a minute amount. And then you'd be consuming darn little of that minute amount.

My guess is that trial and error is your best way to go. ;)

Uh oh, here we go again...

tried no error lol

So we think woman fluids would pass the CODEX standard for gluten free. :D;)

I agree Chelsea..I read it a few years ago, but it was in a book ( Generation S&x) by Dr. Judy. She said that women and men alike are literally what they eat.

@sillyyak52, Count another one in the same boat!  My family has always been in denial.  They said my tummy aches were a ploy to miss school.  My parents passed from health problems associated with uncontrolled Celiac Disease (Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm and Glioblastoma brain tumor).  My sister still has her head buried in the sand.   I agree with @Rogol72, try the consequences of untreated celiac disease shock treatment.  Sometimes people are just scared of having to change their comfortable lifestyle.

I have never been tested for tTg 6 antibodies but I will certainly do that next time I'm at the doc's.  Maybe there's a home test kit for that?  I drink lactose free milk and seem to be ok so I'm probably not a casein case but...who knows?!

I take Life Extension brand Mega Benfotiamine, (250 mg with each of two meals) and Maxlife Natural TTFD-B1 Max Thiamine (100 mg).   I try to take my Benfotiamine and TTFD before four pm, otherwise I have so much energy, it can be hard to fall asleep.

Some people react to the Casein in dairy the same as to gluten, like me.  I avoid dairy avidly because I get ataxia so bad. Some Celiac people produce tTg 6 antibodies in response to gluten or casein.  tTg 2 antibodies are what blood tests for Celiac measure.  tTg 6 antibodies are also found in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases, contributing to ataxia.  Have you been checked for tTg 6 antibodies?   P. S.  Can you share your B vitamin test results?

I agree that you were not eating sufficient gluten prior to your endoscopy.
