Has Anyone Tried This?

I have been researching different websites and at www.curezone.com has information about bowel cleanses, liver flushes, gallbladder flushes, etc. etc. and everyone on there saying how much improvement they have had after doing it. I am really nervous to try it considering how sensitive and tender my bowels are to begin with. Has anyone tried this approach, and if so, did you have any success?

Thanks!

If you do it and go back to eating gluten you will still be sick.I tried that before the dr found what was wrong with me.All it will do is give you a real bad case of diareah(sp).I was to the point I would do anything and that didn't help at all.

Hi--Please be careful with those "bowel flushing" or "liver cleansing" pills. Most of them are bunk.

Remember, if it sounds too good to be true it usually is.

In my opinion, the best bowel cleanser is lots and lots of water daily. Water is a miracle cure, and most people do not drink enough of it.

Good luck to you.

That site claims: "Celiac disease is caused by primary liver stones (intrahepatic stones)." I've never seen any research to support that claim, and have seen an awful lot of well-accepted research that celiac disease is genetic. A cleanse of any sort is not going to change your genetics.

Hi.

I am quite new around here but I know a few bits about things like bowel cleanses and liver flushes etc.

A bowel cleanse would not cure Celiac disease and nor would a liver flush. However a bowel cleanse would be of benefit. The large bowel is responsible for absorbing vitamins/minerals, water etc whilst also been one of the bodies means of getting rid of toxins/waste.

Due to modern day diet the bowel rarely works properly. Most peoples bowels become coated in mucoid plaque which obviously stops it from working as well as it should. People also rarely get enough friendly bacteria in their diets anymore. Without a decent level of friendly bacteria you get issues such as bloating, irregular bowel movements, diarrhoea or constipation, the list goes on. Most people these days are constipated without realising it. Going to the toilet once a day is not really a healthy thing to do.

One of the main issues a lot of celiac seem to get is bloating, toilet issues and so on. Now if you supplement with good bacteria and have a colon which is working efficiently then the side effects you would suffer when you accidentally consume a product which contains or is contaminated with wheat would not be as much of a problem. Another bonus is that when your bowel is working more efficiently you will absorbed more of the vitamins/minerals you consume either in general food consumption or supplementation therefore been more healthy.

Canadian Karen, if you are going to do any sort of cleanses you must start with the bowel cleanse especially before something like a liver flush. If you have problems with a sensitive bowel the best thing to use would be a magnesium based cleanser such as Oxypowder. Many people on curezone rave about Oxypowder simply because it uses oxygen bubbles to gently break up the mucoid plaque in the bowel and also draws water in to the intestines to help you go to the toilet more often and more easily. There is nothing else that is as gentle to your insides.

I have decided not to try for now....

I am too worried that it will be too hard on my already ravaged bowels... And now that I found out I have collagenous colitis (I start treatment this week for it....) I have decided to see if this treatment will improve my bowels in any way..... I really hope so.....

Thanks for your reply, the whole cleanse thing really intrigues me...... especially seeing the pictures of all the stones!!!!

Scott makes a good point about the prednisone. It has a general suppressing effect on the immune system. Don't misunderstand me. In view of your husband's several autoimmune afflictions, it would seem to be an appropriate medication therapy but it will likely invalidate endoscopy/biopsy test results for celiac disease.

I also want to mention that using prednisone would likely also make the endoscopy results invalid. This steroid will cause gut healing and could mask the damage caused by celiac disease.

This sounds to me like histamine intolerance. Some foods have more or less histamine. processed or aged meats, fermented food like yoghurt or kimchi and bread (yeast), spinach, eggplant and mushroom are high in histamine. Other foods like tomatoes are histamine liberators, they encourage your mast cells to release histamine, which can also trigger the reactions you describe, flu like symptoms, joint pain, urinary tract irritation, rash, stomach upset, nausea, diarrhoea & fatigue. I had liver pain like you describe, as part of the intolerance is usually a sluggish liver that makes processing all the histamine difficult. There are multiple possible root causes of histamine intolerance, usually it’s a symptom of something else. In my case, leaky gut (damaged gut wall)caused by undiagnosed celiac, but for others it’s leaky gut caused by other things like dysbiosis. Some people also experience histamine intolerance due to mould exposure or low levels of DAO (the enzyme that breaks down histamine in the gut). I’d try a low histamine diet & if that doesn’t improve symptoms fully, try low oxalate too. As others have suggested, supplements like vitamin d, b, l-glutamine to support a healthy gut & a good liver support supplement too. If you’re in a histamine flare take vitamin c to bowel tolerance & your symptoms will calm down (avoid if you find you have oxalate intolerance though). Best of luck

@GeoPeanut, milk is one of the better sources of iodine. Iodine is known to exacerbate dermatitis herpetiformis. Many people find that a low iodine diet helps them avoid dermatitis herpetiformis outbreaks. So, maybe the fact that you have limited your dairy intake of late is helping with that.

Hi, I'm new here. Sorry for your troubles.herenis a thought to mull over. I recently was diagnosed with celiac disease,  and hashimoto's and dermatitis herpetiformis after getting covid 19. I eat butter, and 1/2 cup of Nancy's yogurt daily. I stopped all other dairy and  dermatitis herpetiformis is gone! I also make grass fed beef bone broth to help with myopathy that has occurred.
