Dish Soap / Dishwasher Soap

Just a quick question...

Has anybody EVER run into a dish soap, dishwasher soap, or dishwasher rinse aid that has contained gluten? I check all of labels for my mom (at least, the ones that label their ingredients), and only find names of chemicals. I have never seen any wheaty-sounding names listed. We're using organic stuff now, but my mom would sure like to go back to using name brands* (cost less!!).

*Ivory, Dawn, Ajax, Palmolive, Electrosol, Cascade

Thanks!

As far as I know, none contain gluten. I use Dawn for dishes and Purex for laundry. Just use the cheapest in the dishwasher.

I have not run into any dish/dishwasher/laundry soaps that contain gluten--that is not to say that there is not one out there somewhere! I use Purex or All (Free and Clear versions of both), Palmolive Dishwashing Liquid and either Cascade or Electrasol for the dishwasher.

One dishwashing soap that does contain gluten is Ecover aloe and lemon. I used it - then thought to call the company. All their other 'flavors' are gluten-free. I use BioKleen - all their products are gluten-free.

(the gluten in the handsoap is probably wheat protein to help keep our hands looking lovely, or something like that.)

I make my own, that way I know it is gluten-free. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

I was undiagnosed for quite a few years. I now have neuropathy in my hands and feet. Be watchful of something like this and definitely see a neurologist if having symptoms like numbness in your extremities.

Hello, @jadeceoliacuk, Has your son been tested for nutritional deficiencies?  Celiac Disease causes malabsorption of essential nutrients which can result in nutritional deficiencies.  Supplementing with essential vitamins and minerals is beneficial.   I would find a nutritionist more knowledgeable about Celiac and ASD, before taking herbal supplements that don't contain essential vitamins.
