I just returned from a family vacation in Lancaster, PA. We stayed at Willow Valley. The chefs were extremely knowledgeable in gluten free foods and preparations. They have a separate area in their kitchen to prepare gluten-free food. They we extremely happy to make anything you wanted. They were very happy to accommadate me. They stock gluten-free breads and pastas along with gluten-free pancake mix. I highly recommend this place if you are staying in Lancaster, PA.

That is great to know we love willow valley! We usually plan a trip to Lancaster every fall, and we always stay at Willow Valley. I have been apprehensive to go this year due to our new diagnosis of celiac but now I am excited! Thanks for the heads up!!

Willow Valley is just outside of Lancaster in Willow Street, PA. It's actually part of a huge retirement home complex and a guest "resort". It's located on 272, just south of Lancaster and only 25 minutes from the MD/PA line. It's minutes from all of the Amish attractions, Dutch Wonderland, Rockvale Square outlets, Tanger outlets, etc.

Thank you SOOOOOOO much for posting this! My grandfather lives in Willow Valley Manor and he always wants to get together for lunch and I always have to say no. Now I can finally enjoy a meal with him again without having to do it picnic style!!!

When going to Willow Valley I ate in the Family restaurant. Ask for Keith or Sahall. They made all my meals for me. They did a great job. I was really able to enjoy my first gluten-free vacation with my family.

I forgot they do have a website. It's Willowvalley.com

I am asking for my six year old. It took us four months to figure out what was going on- a brand of extra virgin olive oil we were using for every meal. We changed the brand she instantly got better- from Gi to nephropathy to joint pain, to tinnitus to dry eyes. You name a symptom and she has it when glutened, so it's difficult to second guess when it's all so obvious. Anyway, two months later, i bought another bottle of the same brand, and the olive oil was sourced form 5 different countries, as opposed to one. It took exactly a month for her symptom to start all over again. And sure enough it was the oil! I am sorta getting tired of trying to get these "healthy" oils glutening her. Does anyone have any thought on cooking oils that they think for sure are not contaminated, or any certified glutenfee brands they suggest? I'd appreciate. At this point, I just need any oil that's free of contamination- healthy or otherwise. Healthier is better. But i'll tkae anything. Thanks

@CeliacPsycho246, You might try cutting out dairy.  Some of us react to Casein, the protein in dairy, the same as to gluten.

Yep, the edit window times out very quickly. It's okay. I got a good laugh out of it.
