I am heading to Philly for a wedding and would like some info on places that are safe to eat while I am there. Does anyone have any suggestions? Anything you have would be helpful!

Thanks so much.

Will you be downtown? If so, here are some places:

Ted's Montana Grille

Roy's

Maggianos

Chickie and Pete's (south philly)

Mr. Ritz gluten free bakery (off of south street) - take out only

I will let you know if I think of any other ones!

I would recommend calling ahead for Maggiano's... they sometimes run out of the gluten-free pasta.

We also like the White Dog Cafe... the chef was very knowledgable about celiac and was very specific about ingredients (such as the mashed potatos.)

My kids live in Phila. and my middle daughter has Celiac. She's found managers to be most cooperative and helpful, especially when she calls ahead and talks to them before rush hour. Her favs are El Vez and any of the Steven Starr restaurants.

Thanks so much for your input! I will certainly give these places a look! If you think of any more, please let me know. I like my options :P

We loved Ted's MOntana Grill while we were there. Also Sazon's corn arepas were great. Also if you want to take a hike to Doylestown Jules gluten-free pizza is terrific. I would drive there again for it.You can buy gluten-free items at Dietary Shoppe, she has a nice selection.

Ruth Chris Steakhouse is pricey but good....All the above were knowledegable on gluten-free....

enjoy your stay

I am not taking anything except for the multivitamins that I purchased from the supermarket.

The critic acid and sodium citrate is corn unfortunately and they don’t have to label corn because it’s not part of the top 9 allergen and not mandatory 😭

Yaya, from the JAMA study you refer to: "Taking 60,000 international units (IU) a day of vitamin D for several months has been shown to cause toxicity." No one on this forum is recommending  taking anywhere near that amount. We're talking about 5-10,000IU daily.

"Doses higher than the RDA are sometimes used to treat medical problems such as vitamin D deficiency, but these are given only under the care of a doctor for a specified time frame. Blood levels should be monitored while someone is taking high doses of vitamin D." Quoted from the Healthline article @Yaya linked above...
