The enema could have helped. Keep that in mind next time you're clogged up!! It could also be that your stress is lower .... you've been worried about this test for a while!

I was thinking the same things.

Glad it's over, Lister and that you're back home. Take it easy tonight--get some rest. :)

Ugh thats horrible! I don't do blood or needles, I get sick at the sight of blood. The last labs I had done this woman had to poke me 3 or 4 times, all the while she was explaining to me what she was doing, I passed out right there in the chair...not fun....

Hi Lister,

Glad it's over & you're feeling better!

Sorry about all the mishaps en route, but I hope some answers come from the biopsies.

Lister Rising Star

yeah same here, the doc says he is able to rule out alot of things from the results. i will get a better discription in a few days

Lister Rising Star

anyone here bleed at all after biopsis? the day of i had like bloody snot, but now its 2 days later and im still gettting chunks of red/black blood in my stools and by themselvs. wondering if i should call the doctor or if this is normal after biopsis ( the doc said it was normal to bleed after them, but its been 2 days)

CarlaB Enthusiast

If doc said it was normal to bleed, I wouldn't worry about it after two days. If it's for a week or two, then I might be concerned.

Lister Rising Star

anyone know what a stigomoidoscopy rules out?? i know not cancer because it only covers 1/3d of the colon but i know it rules out colitis anything else?

_________

so i dont know what to think anymore. since the prep, i have been feeling pretty good, still always tired and i got some mild stomic discomfurt but my stomic is definatly doing way way way better then it was, im starting to think maybe half my problem was just i was really clogged up and the enemas cleared out the clog.. dont know could be completly wrong, but i do remember 5 months ago when this all started when they where doing xrays they said there was a stool lodged in my colon that was not moving at all.. so maybe i blasted it out and that was what was causing my problems (wouldnt that be awsome) o well just gotta play the waiting game some more for real answers

Lister Rising Star

woohoo i have gas :), i know that sounds wierd to be happy about, but im finally passing normal sounding gas around 10 times a day. makes me feel more normal since i used to always pass and then after getting sick never. i meen its not painfull gas just gas :) yay and my bms are now a earth tone instead of interesting yellow. woohoo i hope things keep going up from here and dont drop back down i would be sad but for now im fairly happy... woohoo... i wonder what is really wrong with me.. so random

Great to hear you are feeling better, Lister! Hope this is the beginning of real healing for you.

Lister there are exercises that you can do that help move a "lazy bowel". For one you can get on the floor on all fours, your knees & elbows, then take one leg & stick it straight out back & draw it to your chest, do those a few times & then with the same leg lifted off the floor & bent, lift it sideways, then repeat with the other leg, you can also take one leg and instead of straight out bend it at the knee & slightly lift up. This used to work for me when nothing else would.

Lister Rising Star

thanks i will try that, yeah it seems like my bowls just dont work 90% of the time, like it wont let anything travel properly no clue why. some days they work other days they dont hope that exersise helps thx

Hip Hip Hooray for grandparents !!!!

Lister Rising Star

well i talked to my grandpa and the conversation got no were, he did not remember having it with me- apprently my dad says hes going senial :(.

man i was hoping to atleast get some answers from that

im starting to get frustrated again, im still loosing weight im down to about 157 so that was another 4 pounds in a week. i only have a small amount of stomic left to loose, whatever this is has already sucked the fat out of everyother place in my body, im boney skinny everywhere and its starting to freak me out.. what happens once there is no more fat for it to suck up?? its taking way to long to figure out whats wrong with me

Lister Rising Star

well i just got the results back from the stigmoidoscopy, well that was a waist of fricking money. they found nothing with the biopsis so now he wants to do a endoscopy/full colonoscopy- at the same time (omg ahhhhh) i dont think i can even go thru with that procedure, i meen i guess i could suck it up and do the colonoscopy but the endo seems kinda extreme to me. plus the money OMG..... the next apointment is past october so im going to be living longer with no fricking answers. its fricking bullcrap omg i hate all of this fricking crap..and now he wants me to start taking like medamusul and crap to try to regulate me. doubt it will work just more money waisted

Guest ~jules~

Sorry lister, I hate going to the doctor period. Needles, blood, sterille rooms, creepy hallways, the whole experience stresses me out. With your sypmtoms both procedures are a good idea. Why didn't they just do a colonoscopy in the first place? Well at least for both of those procedures you won't feel it, and its pretty easy to get through...I remember after my colonoscopy they found nothing, and told me to come back for a follow up appointment. I was so ticked off at not having any answers, and so tired of doctors I just wrote them all off and sat at home sick and stubborn for 3 months. After awhile things got worse than they had ever been so I went back and got my endoscopy, then was diagnosed. Just hang in there jump through their hoops and eventually they will figure it out....

Lister Rising Star

i just hate all of it, the more tests they do without finding things the more i start to worry about what it is thats going on with me.. its freaky

Guest ~jules~

Ya I know I went through the same thing, I kept getting on the internet and googling my symptoms, and that didn't make matters any better trust me. I thought I was dying seriously, I never thought for a million years it was what I was eating.

Lister Rising Star

i have been on a gluten-free casien free diet for almost 6 months now, i really dont think its something i was eating anymore. But yeah i dont google myself anymore. all it does is make it way worse, all that comes up is stomic cancer or colon cancer, both of wich i know i probably dont have im to young. i probably have chrons like the doc thinks but if its chrons i dont know how he is going to be able to stop the weight loss since chrons is not really treatable they just give u meds to stop complaining. for some reason the doc wants me to go get a bunch of blood work done next week, dont see the point since he sgoing to be scoping me soon i think hes just after my wallet

From the article you linked: "Currently, there are no recommended methods to test for non-celiac gluten sensitivity." "No recommended methods" is the key phrase here. Just on the anecdotal evidence of reading many posts on this forum, I think we sometimes see some elevated igg test scores with NCGS. They seem to be mildly elevated in these cases, not high high.

Thank you for your reply. I’m beginning to think of iodine as another culprit in this, as much as I fear it. I will say my rash is extreme and diffuse - it’s everywhere! I first had it on both sides of my neck in the summer of 2023. My PCP and dermatologist at the time, thought it was a reaction to jewelry I was wearing, even though I had been wearing the same necklaces for literally years with no reaction. The dermatologist at the time repeated over and over again that “allergies are acquired.” Which I knew. But I was not reacting to any other jewelry I was wearing. So it didn’t make any sense to me that it would only be from my necklaces. Anyway, it abated on it’s own. Only to come back with a vengeance months later - and I had not worn any necklaces at all. And the rash involved more area. I was put on Prednisone (oral steroid) taper and it worked well, and the itch and eventually the rash went away. Another trip to a different dermatologist at that time, prior to starting the Prednisone, told me to change all of my hygiene products like soap and shampoo, and to slather on Vaseline. None of which worked, hence the Prednisone. Needless to say, the itch and subsequent rash returned - and now spread everywhere, not just the hollows on both sides of my neck. It’s there, on my upper chest and left breast, both upper arms front and back, and elbows, my entire back, down both of my hips and buttocks and the front of my right thigh. Now the back of that right thigh is starting to itch as well. Also my lower right forearm and middle knuckle on my left hand since going gluten free. I’m just itching everywhere all the time. It keeps me awake, or wakes me up when I do fall asleep. I’m trying my best not to scratch, but it’s nearly impossible! I’ve been using a dry washcloth to rub instead of scratching. And I have used cool wet washcloths which help, but only lasts for a few minutes before starting up again. I’m pretty much at my wit’s end. Just waiting for something to indicate what’s really going on so I can do SOMETHING to stop it!

Reply to Russ H, Thank you for your input. As a nurse for 46 years I was aware of much of this. However, as a new member to dermatitis herpetiformis, I have been reading and researching everything I can about it in order to educate and help myself. I was hoping that the oral Dapsone would help to alleviate the itching. I knew the rash would take longer to abate. Instead of relief from the Dapsone, I had adverse reactions so had to stop it. After 2 months on it, if hadn’t helped with the itching at all, and I understand it usually helps in the first few days if it’s going to. My itch and rash actually got worse on the Dapsone and with going gluten free - which lead me to question whether I was getting glutined from other products I am using. It’s like a huge puzzle trying to put all these pieces together to somehow make it fit and make sense. Right now, myself and my doctor are perplexed.
