There you are Julie with our weekley reminder :D

Looking forward to it--I haven't been watching the repeat beforehand, but I think I will tonight. I should have been doing that all along, but I didn't realize that they were still doing the pop ups. I thought they were a big help at the beginning of the season.

I expect we'll all have a lot to discuss tomorrow morning! :)

BTW--how many weeks are left in this bunch?

 Patti

Richard always posted a reminder, not that I can fill his shoes or anything.

I think it's a good idea to watch the reaired episode, those pop-ups give a lot of helpful facts.

I'm not sure how many more new episodes there are, the writers strike really threw a glitch in their plan to run several consecutively <_< .

Well, what did ya'll think? I was remembering last season, a scene where everyone in the village of homes was dead. I wonder if that had anything to do with the gas?

I was a little under-whelmed by last night's episode....I did want to know who Ben was referring to when he told John he'd better sit down. I'm assuming he did tell him since at the end, Ben was walking around free. Priceless looks from Sawyer and Hurley when they spoted him putting away laundry! :P

Next week looks really good.

What did everyone think of last night's episode, "The Other Woman"?

I didn't hate it, but I didn't exactly love it. It will be pretty hard to top last week's "The Constant", we were pretty spoiled by what was revealed. That being said, I think that every episode and the info they give us is important, some in obvious ways, and some in more subtle/between the lines ways- I think last night's ep was more of the latter.

Just when we think we have it down to flash forwards and time travel, they throw a flashback episode in there

Any of you who watched the re-aired episode of "The Constant", one of those little pop ups gave a helpful tip, flashbacks are accompanied with that "swoooooshing" sound, like when you are on a plane, the flash forwards didn't have that sound. So that sound, or the absence of that sound, will help decipher if they have gone back or forward in future eps.

I actually liked having more back story about Juliet. We knew she was having a relationship with Goodwin, but that was quite a twist to learn it was an affair.

I did not see that coming, Ben having a creepy crazy obsession with Juliet  When he said, ""How could you possibly not understand that you're mine?!?!?!?!" I am more and more impressed with Michael Emerson (Ben) though every episode, he really plays Ben well.

Let's see, what else...it seemed like there were lots of little things going on, Harper appearing and the return of the "voices", and they mentioned the "Others" finally.

Charlotte and Farady deactivating the gas, or making it inert....and then the big reveal about Widmore being the owner of the freighter, both of these things seemed kind of obvious, I have a feeling things may not be what the seem and there might be more to it than meets the eye.

So basically we are back to having more questions than answers :lol:

 Patti, we must have been posting at the same time.

I thought that was funny too, Hurley and Sawyer casually playing horse shoes of all things and then here comes beat up bloody Ben, just short of skipping, with a childish grin on his face as he clutched his clean bed linens!

That's another thing that struck me funny about last night's ep, there were a couple of other instances of craziness/creepiness with just a little twist of humor.

Like when Ben took Juliet to see Goodwin's dead body and he said his line, "How could you possibly not understand that you're mine?" , and then there was a pause and he followed it up with ""take as long as you need." I thought that was hilarious!

Also the dinner "party".

Almost forgot Patti, that is referred to "The Purge" and you can read about it here:

Open Original Shared Link

If you remember, a younger Ben had his dad drive out to an isolated spot and Ben put his gas mask on and watched his dad die. Later we saw many bodies lying dead around the camp.

That van with the skeleton remains of Ben's father was the one Hurley found and took joy rides with

What Mark and I couldn't figure out is how do two people manage to have an affair on that island? Seem it would be hard to manage

I always hated the character of Ben, but Michael Emerson is a fabulous actor. Now that they are beginning to show some other sides to Ben, my hate has turned to being intregued.

Patti, did you watch last week?

Judy, did we lose you?

I read that a lot of people didn't like the episode, but I liked it. Anoter tear jerker for me with Sun and Jin at the end.

Michael being revealed as Ben's guy on the boat wasn't all that surprising, I was kind of hoping it would have been Boone or Ecko, now that would have really been shocking.

Yes, we watched. It was so sad when I realized that Jin was dead. They had us going until the scene at the hospital where he was bringing the panda for someone else.

They have listed the man who plays Michael in the credits for a while, so that was no surprise. I'm looking forward to that piece of the story, though--what happened after he left on the boat, and after double-crossing his friends.

I really liked that episode.

Hi Julie and Patti

No you didn't lose me to the show..........but I didn't post b/c I had nothing to say.

Patti.....who did he take the panda to?

He was killed before his baby was born?

He was taking to another person who was in a 'powerful position"\

Judy,

There was a "flash forward" and a "flash back" going on at the same time  Sun's, the wife, was a flash forward starting the day her baby was born.

Jin's was actually a flash back to when he had only been married 2 months and as part of his job (working for Sun's corrupt father) he took the panda to another family who had just had a child born.

We didn't catch on until we saw he was taking the bear to someone else and at that point mentioned he had only been married 2 months--that was the clincher.

What I wonder is, could Jin still be alive on the island? The date on the gravestone was Sept. 22, 2004--the day of the plane crash. As we know now, only 6 (or 8?) came back--we also know that all of the passengers did not die in the crash--so who knows?

Julie,

Thanks for that link to abc online. I missed it the last two weeks :o . So I was glad to be able to catch up online. Can you believe, I've forgotten how to use our VCR and can't be bothered to figure it out again.

You're welcome Missy's Mom :) , glad you were able to get caught up! Those VCRs can be tricky

I forgot to comment on the flashforward/flashback of last week's episode. I was so confused during. I know they said when they flashed back they always used that "swooshing" sound and no sound was used for the flash forwards. Well, I noticed it would swoosh on some of the flashes and not on some of the others, so I thought UGH!! , they are messing with our heads!!!

It wasn't until the end that I realized, no they weren't messing with us! The "swooshing" sound would happen when they flashed back with the scenes with Jin and there was no sound when they flash forwarded with the scenes with Sun, so all was ok in the land of LOST

So, listen for the sounds, or no sound, they are our clue.

But that was kind of brazilliant with the simultaneous flashback/flashforward. Sneaky Lost!

It's on for me in about 15 minutes, look forward to talking about it tomorrow :D

Nobody commented about last week's ep, Meet Kevin Johnson. Was everyone as unimpressed as I was?

This was the least favorite of this season's episodes so far for me, Michael is not my favoeite character on the show.

I guess it was good to get a little bit of an explanation about what happened to Michael after he left the island, but still so many unanswered questions and things missing from the timeline.

Also, a they said/they said has been set up about who staged the plane on the bottom of the ocean with all the dead bodies in it. Was it Widmore or Ben, who to believe?

Not so shocking that Karl was the one killed, but the French Woman? Totally shocked me. I noticed "the whispers" have returned, may "The Others" are going to reappear soon.

Well this was the last episode they had in the can before the writers strike so no new eps for a month.

I think we ( all 3 of us  ) have lost that loving feeling for Lost

I didn't even know what to say about last week's ep, and a new one is on tonight.

I didn't even know what to say about last week's ep, and a new one is on tonight.

The thing about last week's episode, to me, was that I thought I was really getting a handle on the whole thing--and then after that episode, I was even more confused.

I'm sticking with it now mostly because of all the time I have invested in it  I gotta think that at some point some of this stuff will finally make sense.

I'll be there in front of the TV tonight--probably like this-

Last week was very confusing.

I was completely shocked about Alex :o

It seems we have these two crazy guys (Ben and Widmore) battling it out for control, and who to believe? I also think they both time travel and the reason they can't kill each other is that they are each other's constant.

Ben is such an interesting character, I used to not like him at all, but he grew on me. As crazy as he is there is a quirky quality about him that makes him likeable.......I had to laugh when he stormed into that secret passage, turned on the smoke monster to take out all of those people and then comes back out and says "excuse me James" to get by.

Oh! I didn't think of that!

I usually think of Ben as such an evil little man  but it was nice to see him care so much about Alex and the look of shock when he miscalulated.

He is an evil little man, but an evil little man with manners

It was interesting after Alex was shot he kept saying, "he changed the rules". And then when he confronted Widmore in the end he said, "you changed the rules". I think he truly was thrown off guard when they shot Alex.

I just wonder what the rules were??

Green12 Enthusiast

Ugh!!! They changed the rules!

They said only when they flashed back would they use that "wooshing" sound. Well last night they clearly flashed forward withCharlie and everytime was the "wooshing" sound.

jerseyangel Proficient

:D Yeah Julie--looks like they changed the rules on the show and behind the scenes!

I did enjoy the show last night, though. It was easier to follow and moved the story ahead, I thought. I'm really looking forward to next week.

Green12 Enthusiast
:D Yeah Julie--looks like they changed the rules on the show and behind the scenes!

 That's for sure.

I don't know if they did that because it was too confusing for viewers and from this point on all flashes (forward or back) will be accompanied by the swooshing

I loved the episode. The scene with Jack and Hurley was so goood, but very creepy (when he said we are all dead and that he sees Charlie, and oh btw Charlie has a message for you...). I wonder what he means by "you aren't the one to raise him".

I had a feeling it was going to be Jack's dad that was the one who would be "visiting" him later (since he had seen in him at the hospital earlier). I hadn't forgotten about Jack and Claire having the same dad, I had just put it aside so it was a nice refresher.

Judging by the scenes for next week I think we are in for a wild and crazy ride! I think those were the "Others" and one mentioned, "I've been dead for so and so amount of years". I can't help but think all of the hints we have had about the island being a place of limbo, or sort of a purgatory, are starting to come together.

I'm not sure how the time travel comes in to play, but my theory before about none of the Others againg from flashbacks that went back to when Ben was a child to present day, being dead might also explain that no aging thing

Green12 Enthusiast

Pay no attention to me!!!

I was out and about reading some of the Lost blogs and apparently the writers/producers had already answered one of the most asked questions about Lost, and NO the island is NOT limbo/purgatory or a place between heaven and earth.

......but still there has to be some other explanation that is going to explain the Others being dead, Hurley saying we are all dead (the fact that it was confirmed last night that Hurley really did see Charlie), and there are some other things I have learned that are spoilers, but all dealing with some who may or may not be dead.

Yes,  Lisinopril gave me an inguinal hernia from the persistant cough. Amlodipine doubled urine output and dry eyes so I could not wear contacts, another had me walking bent over like a ninety year old and one knocked out control of my quadracepts so knees would give out.  None lowered my blood pressure. Average BP  132/67 for Oct 21 - 26.  Lowest was 100/59. High 157/62.

I was undiagnosed for quite a few years. I now have neuropathy in my hands and feet. Be watchful of something like this and definitely see a neurologist if having symptoms like numbness in your extremities.
