NOW, insomnia has kicked in.....not good...... <_<

And why in hell did you send some to me???

Was up half the night. I need to try to fake brain power today. Caffeine is calling.

DingoGirl Enthusiast

Nik, panic still? Insomnia......terrible..........more Bach's remedy :)

SILLIES

PEANUT IS ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

he made it through the night with NO WATER in his cage :(:(:(

He is up walking around, conscious, slight tremors and a gentle stumble now and then.......

vet will want to keep him all day for observations -

NO PHARKING WAY

I am goign to get him soon - - my parents are appalled and are going to pay for me to take him to THEIR vet should I need to - - what in hell is "observing" with no treatment going to do anyway??? I can observe him here and take him elsewhere if necessary.

but - the little scamp made it through the night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't care if he has a little brain damage or a stumble or a tremor now and then - - he is my Baby Peanut

:)

Thank you sillies for your prayers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course he's OK, he's a silly!

I think the' no water' was to keep him from drowning if he had a seizure and landed with his face in the bowl. Fluids, however, would be a very good thing now.

Ask what they would do if they kept him for observation. It might be something like, another sedative if he's still seizing hard. Just get as much info as you can before you take him out.

Damn right!! Our lil' Peanut is a Sillie--he's strong and gets back up no matter what. Maybe a wee bit unsteady, but he's up!!!!!!! :D

I'm so happy about this!!!!!! :D :D :D !! :D:D

good advice Jess.......very good, from our Resident Most Logical Scientist :) I had not thought of the reason for no water in the cage!!!!!!!!!!!

Permanent seizing/convulsing should be over -

I can totally deal with a brain-damaged Li'l Peanut w/ occasional tremor/stumble

he IS a Silly

Gee Psuessly.....I'm so very glad that your li'l Peanut is hanging in there. I know all about the heartacke of not being able to afford vet treatments! It's absolutley outrageous these days! I've paid for my moms cat when she couldn't afford it...he had pneumonia and a rhinovirus and got dehydrated because he couldn't drink. Also paid for my son's dog....the "emergency vet" would not even let them in the door unless they had $100 up front! That is absolutely the lowest, most disgusting attitude for a medical practitioner! Your babies are your babies....2 legs or 4. You have my prayers for a complete recovery :(:)

Hi Molly! Nice to meet you. Hope we will be hearing from you often and get a chance to get to know you better. I'm still phiggering out the rest of this crew

Hope eveyone is having a shiny, wonder-filled day!

Where in the Sam Hill Manhead is everyones psilly today? I could really use some. Just got back from the hospital for an MRI with injected dye. The MRI was not bad, really, but the dye is ugh! Knee swollen up like a melon again (like before). Have to stay off it for 24 hours. Can't wait to get the results and get all of this over with!

Anyway :) ...am anxiously awaiting good news about our li'l Dignificated Peanut! Hugs to you both from me!:wub:

One day when things calm down I will tell you why I switched Vets and it saved my cat's life by doing so.

This whole nightmare episode is making me ask MANY questions about chemical flea control. . . . . .....I have used the liquid dropper things (that you run down the cat's back) on my cats for as long as I have had them.....and the dogs get the yearly pesticide in a combined tablet with their heartworm medication. Perhaps I should start a new thread on this, as I would love to take a "natural" approach, as long as it is effective.

Any Psillies here know anything about alternative ways to stop flea infestation on our outdoor animals? Do you sell anything, POeter?

I read so many things last night, class action lawsuits and such (Hartz company is particularly evil, apparently - so beware :( )

One woman gave her kittens a bath in flea shampoo and one died very shortly thereafter. :( Tumours that were biopsied often contained HUGE amount of the concentrated pesticide in them.

I was also thinking I'd start a thread on this, with a warning, but, don't want everyone to know how stupid I am, just yet. :(

I had a dear friend say to me last night "well WHY did you do that? didn't you think about what you were doing?" - - I mean PHARQUE, obviously I have deep regret and was NOT being careful - - when everyone else had been so supportive and sympathetic. I sort of yelled at her

I don't even know how parents can live with the guilt of causing an accident to a child. :(

Just heartbreaking.

Well Sills, gotta go do a bunch of errands and procure food before going to get Wee P since I will not leave him for 48 hours after that......

Borax in your carpets and sofas will keep the fleas down. Wash bedding often. Some people give their dogs a little bit of garlic BUT DON"T GIVE CATS GARLIC OR ONIONS. Many have a genetic mutation that will lead to a fatal bleeding disorder (if I'm remembering correctly) if they ingest members of the onion family.

Some people give their pets brewers yeast. I don't know how well the food additives work, but you could try.

Hi. Yes. I’m awaiting my Biopsy results. I had B12 and other labs drawn on Mon, including Thyroid levels, as I am on Levothyroxine for radiation-induced hypothyroidism. Those levels should indicate any iodine issues. We had discussed the urine iodine, but he went with the thyroid instead. We’ll see.  I never had any of those Pellagra skin changes, or Casal’s necklace. Just itchiness in the supraclavicular hollows on both sides of my neck, and the anterior aspect as my neck radiation site.  The hollows had no changes until I scratched them, then I got the rash on those areas like the ones I have now scattered in different areas, usually on both sides with the exception of my anterior thighs. My right is affected, my left isn’t. I am 70 and have all my teeth as well - amazingly after having had max dose radiation in 2002. 😂 Unfortunately, because of long term changes in my oral mucosa because of it I can’t use mouthwashes - even non-alcohol ones, as they all burn my mouth like fire. Toothpastes burn as well, but not nearly as bad. I have an electric toothbrush but it is getting more difficult to use due to increasing trismus. Some days I cannot open my mouth wide enough to get the electric brush between my back teeth, so on those days I use a regular one. Gotta do what you gotta do.  Thank you for your input. Any insight I can get into this is appreciated. So, for now it’s the waiting game for test results, then we can form a treatment plan going forward.

Hi everyone I'm James, I hope you are all feeling well??. Accidentally had gluten at weekend and I've had severe diarrhea since sat night. My question is ,the longer someone like myself has been following a strict gluten-free diet will the exposure to gluten be lot more extreme as body now has been free of it well over a year ? Any information be much appreciated and any tips on how to stop the constant diarrhoea I have currently also be appreciated guys x

I use Listerine.  Rinse first to soften the tarter, then brush with Oral B electric toothbrush super sonic.  The $15 ones at the supermarket.  At 73 I still have all my teeth.  While a blood test can measure iodine levels, it's not the most accurate method for assessing iodine status, and urinary iodine excretion is considered a better indicator.  Have any of your dermatologists ever done a biopsy for dermatitis herpetiformis?  I may have missed it.  Note the similarity of Casal's necklace to one of your symptoms. Pellagra rash is a characteristic skin manifestation of niacin (vitamin B3) deficiency. It typically presents as:  Erythema: Red, sunburned-like areas of skin, often on the face, neck, arms, and legs.  Scaliness: Dry, flaky skin that may become thickened and crusty.  Hyperpigmentation: Darkened patches of skin, particularly in sun-exposed areas.  Casal's necklace: A dark, pigmented band around the neck.  I am currently taking these} Vitamin D 10,000 IU (250 mcg) DHEA 100 mg 500 mcg Iodine  10 drops of Liquid Iodine B1 Thiamin 250 mg  B2 Riboflavin 100 mg B3 Nicotinic Acid 500 mg 4 times a day for hyperlipidemia. B5 Pantothenice Acid 500 mg Vitamin C 500 mg     Selenium 200 mcg  Several times a week
