Kween Niknik....yer Royal Heinous!....I just adore your AV!!! :D

Don't want to talk about clothing sizes. Except that when they were made here, the sizes were more reliable. Now that they are made everywhere else....it's all a crapshoot! When I was wearing size 4 all I could find was clothing that looked like they should hve been thrown out before they got that bad! I hate clothes shopping (and having to try everything on), and at that point it reeeeeeally sucked! <_< Even shoes are not sized the same.

Your Royal Hanus!! You were an ADORABLE child .. . ....mygawd, a true Walmart photo frame model like I've never seen elsewhere!!

Crap, was I the only hideous baby 'round here??

Must search for a toddler pic... . ....at some point I am certain I grew out of hideousness, as I have not been totally unsightly for some time, now.

But when did it happen?. ....At age four? Eight? Think I remember looking somewhat normal in kindergarten, so I will see if that's when photographs started being taken of me. . . . ..

Hey! Jack just shared something with me, and it is somehow SO pertinent to us all, here.....I can just feel it.....

Gorillas purr.

:huh::huh:

Great trivia.......but what does it mean??

It could mean that you should probably get a gorilla to comfort you when migraine-stricken, Nik.. ..... . .imagine the vibration when one o' them starts purring?

A true compliment if I ever saw one. Is this what your honey used to ensnare you?

:lol: How did you ever guess that, Jess? I believe his exact words, before proposing to me, were, "You know somethin', Em? You are the most non-unsightly woman I've ever known".. .. . ...

And he had me. . . ..........

Changed my av . . . the best I can do. I'm headed home in a couple of weeks. I know there was a pic of me when I was two and there was a pic of me in kindergarten. I'll see if my mom knows where either of those are.

How sad is that . . . I know of two pictures in existence of me under the age of 5.

Em . . . Oh yeah, I would have fallen for that line, too . . .

Ever notice how the more expensive the clothing is, the smaller the sizes are? I can fit into a $100.00 size four pair of DKNY jeans (ridiculous), but can't even get a Walmart no-name pair o' size fours above me knees. . . ... <_<

Can't say that I've ever tried on a pair of $100 jeans

Baby Nikki!.........such a cutie patootie!!!

I have! I have!! I found a pair of Donna Karan's at Value Village.....looked like they'd never been worn.....$7.99. So of course I bought 'em. Size 5, which is just crazy - - I am a 10. The cashier told me that they go for a hundred bucks, so quite a find. And on rare occasion, I get to be a size five! :rolleyes:B)

Just luuuurve The Village.......

curlyfries Contributor

I did find a pair of Seven jeans at a garage sale once.....have no idea what they sell for, though.

Crockpotting NOW?.........for dinner TONITE?.........At this point you'd be better off in a pot on the stove!........the stew.....not you :P

jerseyangel Proficient

I have a pair of $100 jeans B)

Of course, I didn't pay nearly full price fer them.....they're the infamous Not Your Daughter's Jeans that are supposed to make someone at me advanced age look good in jeans. I have to say they do a pretty good job. They look like they're very fitted, but are really comfortable and soft  They do good things fer me giant arse...can't ask much more of a jean than that...... :P

A large department store (Boscov's) was closing several of their stores last year, and I got them on a good clearance. Had to get me regular size, though..... <_<

Good luck to you.  I would not get past that first slice of bread.  I would be vomiting and have diarrhea within 30 minutes and it would continue for hours and I would feel like I was hit by a truck for days.  My functional medicine doctor told me to stop taking Calcium and to significantly up my Vitamin D, add K2, lots of Magnesium, some boron and collagen.  This was all recommended after taking the Spectracell test for nutrient deficiencies.  Started doing this at 54 when diagnosed and at 72 no issues with the old bones.

I live in Ottawa Canada and would be interested in a swap with someone who also has a gluten-free house. I’d love to swap out in winter for somewhere warm.

@KRipple, thank you for the lab results from your husband's celiac disease blood antibody testing. The lab result you share would seem to be the tTG-IGA (Tissue Transglutaminase IGA) and the test result is in excess of 10x normal. This is significant as there is an increasing tendency for physicians to grant a celiac disease diagnosis on the basis of antibody testing alone when the scores on that particular test exceed 10x normal. This trend started in the UK during the COVID pandemic when there was tremendous pressure on the medical system over there and it has spread to the USA. The tTG-IGA is the centerpiece of celiac disease blood antibody testing. All this to say that some doctors would grant a celiac disease diagnosis on your husband's bloodwork alone and not feel a need to go forward with an endoscopy with biopsy. This is something you and your husband might wish to take up with his physicians. In view of his many health issues it might be wise to avoid any further damage to his small bowel lining by the continuing consumption of gluten and also to allow healing of such to progress. The lining of the small bowel is the place where essentially all of our nutrition is absorbed. This is why celiac disease, when it is not addressed with a gluten free diet for many years, typically results in additional health problems that are tied to nutritional deficiencies. The millions and millions of tiny finger-like projections that make up the nutrient absorbing surface of the small bowel lining are worn down by the constant inflammation from gluten consumption. In celiac disease, the immune system has been tricked into labeling gluten as an invader. As these finger-like projections are worn down, the efficiency of nutrient absorption becomes more and more compromised. We call this villous atrophy.
