BRAIN SCIENCE?? Dear gawd, this institute likely has an entire file on Psillyville, right from the earliest pages.... .. . . .."subjects for study and debate". . . .....

Best of luck, Jyess.....looks like a sophisticated, cutting -edge place. YOU SHOULD BE THERE!

And Paul Allen looks like such a calm, gentle man . .. . .a lovely, brainy guy for whom to work. . . . . . ..

I need another shower <_<

How do people LIVE here????? HIH did they live here before air conditioning????

Swear to gawd--it's like an oven out there :o Literally.

Um. . . . . . . ...... . .all right, let's leave the big Psillyville Psummit meeting location open for further debate, shall we?

Part of the reason I grieved so hard when he died was that I didn't want to give up the 'new' & improved Daddy I had. So I find myself (uncharitably) jealous of those of you who've been able to live your whole lives with such special parents.

And about three months before he did go, he looked at me one day, tears in his eyes, adn said: "I finally found my daughter." *gulp* and I replied: "I finally found my daddy." We had dropped our lifelong weapons of defense, and in his prolonged illness, he softened so.

Don't think it's ever gonna happen.....just wanted to commiserate with you two. I really understand what you're saying and I'm so sorry.

Again, I am poignantly reminded (and it is vital, for me, that this happens regularly), of how very lucky I am. Every night now I count my blessings. :)

Geoss! very exciting!!!!!!!!!

"what should exist?" I'll tell you what in hell should exist, and I think about it every morning of my life whilst in shower. <_<

I'd like a leg-shaving razor that is about three inches wide. I mean, WHY IN HELL hasn't anybody invented this???? I'm to shave how many square inches of skin with a thing invented to shave a man's FACE???

Really. We need a very wide razor. Three inches. Maybe four. Imagine how few swipes one would have to take. Please speak to that smart Paul Allen about this during yer interview, will you J? *snort*

(and no, this is not my brilliant business plan - that one's called Hire a Hag  )

 am in full agreement. WE couldn't go anywhere near TexAss until late fall, I'm thinking, or dead of winter.

Count yer blessings, Em. Your dad is amazing. :)

PadTea - I'd forgotten about your mum. I soooooooo hope you can find your peace with her.....though she sounds difficult, and SOOOOO completely unlike you....

am boycotting the HS graduation tonight (erased the ranting about it from earlier post). They actually didn't even get me a ticket, we are pretty sure, so I don't have to go, WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This might sound a tad macabre, but I'm actually a bit jealous of you guys.

See, my dad was NOT an awesome guy. Not most of my life. He was angry, rather mean and abusive, and very difficult to live/work with. During the year he was sick, a great deal of that changed, and I got to have a year with my dad as my Daddy, as loving and kind and wonderful as I knew he always could be. I know exactly how evil his mother was (a woman with whom I will NOT associate), and how extroardinarily hard he worked to improve himself enough just to be the mean bastard I grew up with.

Part of the reason I grieved so hard when he died was that I didn't want to give up the 'new' & improved Daddy I had. So I find myself (uncharitably) jealous of those of you who've been able to live your whole lives with such special parents. I can only imagine how hard it must be to contemplate losing someone who's so deeply imbedded in everything in your life, who's so well loved. I sincerely hope he gets better.

And hey, so when did I become the traveling chef?!?!?! Who's gonna shell out for all that equipment, huh? Don't I get a vote in this?!?!?

I am really, truly sorry to hear this. I, too, can relate to all of the issues with parents you have all mentioned (I had many quotes, but messed up and lost them).

Bunnie, a big <<hug>>. I know you are/were a good daughter, because you are a good person.

Peter, big <<hug>> for you guys, too. It is so hard to watch a loved one's health fail. I cannot imagine what it would be like to with alzheimer's, or the pain of no longer being a part of that loved ones reality. It's as though a stranger has moved in to their body--you recognise the face, voice, but the person staring out at you is not the same.

Pat, big <<hug>> for you, too. I really identify most with what you said about your relationship with your mom. I soooooo get it :(

For the life of me I cannot fathom why otherwise intelligent people would put pineapple on a pizza, along with ham, and actually eat the thing.

Peter, I am all for bacon, black olives, etc,

but pineapple, ham, mushroom (and onion) is too DIE FOR. A truly mouthgasmic food experience.

Afternoon!!!!!!

Pineapple, ham and mushroom on me pizza please!!!!!!!!

See? What she said :)

Nikki, everyone--I was sent a virus through my facebook friends PM account this morning, along with every other one of her friends. If you recieve an Inbox message that is titled something like "Pprivate Pplease. Vvideo of yyou Ppublished" do NOT open it. Repeat--DO NOT OPEN IT!!!!!!

Okeydokey....I know I live in Texas...and it's the south....and it's hot.....BUT pseriously Sillies--this is the hottest day I've ever felt in me life! I ran to the store (drove, really) ... planned to get there and back asap. Well, I got back here, and first couldn't get into the parking garage, and then my keypad wouldn't work on the building door.

I had to park the car, traipse around the freakin building to the front door, groceries in hand, praying it would open....and luckily one of the property managers was there showing an apartment er sumphin.

I need another shower

No seriously, I wish you the best. I sincerely hope you get it, and that it is what you've been looking for :D

I think what I really want is a lobotomy.......

Yes, that ASS HAT from my former life. The most ruinous man alive. The man I will never forgive and loathe the thought of. HE pops up as a "potential friend." HOW IN HELL DID THIS HAPPEN?????? his WIFE pops up also, all the time. Ass Hat and I have NO mutual friends.

Suze, you crazee wacko sil. No more wuvvin' from yer baby skittle? Job boring you to tears? As if that weren't bad enough....

former love semi-surfacing on the book, like some shadow stalker figure?

You two must have a mutual connection somewhere. Facebook automatically generates those potential friend sugesstions based on info you enter, like place of work, where you live or go to school.

The parent/child relationship is the epitome of complex. We love each other so much it hurts. I really don't wan't to add my own sad tale--I hate telling people about it all (although if my folks had come stay with me for the four months like they wanted to, I would have been e-mailing you'se like every ten minutes.) But, I can honestly say I am a good mother, and that is what matters most to me.

ME first this mornin!!!!

I stayed home from work today, not something I normally do. Got my period this morning, and without being too graphic, I'll just say it occasionally has an unfortunate effect on my bowels. I wasn't in the mood for hobbling back and forth to the bathroom all morning. I wish Imodium would work on this particular issue.....

Jestgar Rising Star

Bunnie wins!!

I used to have that same effect with my period. <_<

Pointless. The whole bloody mess is pointless.

Doesn't happen every time, just 2 or 3 times a year, but when those days fall on workdays I's in trubbles.....

i have been gluten free for about 2 yrs i had a ttg recently done my blood test was .7 higher then last time. i must be doing something wrong im still not in the normal range. What advice would anyone give?

He should definitely have his vitamin D and Vitamin B12 checked.  I have celiac and i always felt tired, sometimes i described it as dopy.My vitamin D is always low at times extremely low which can affect you. But  I also did some research and contacted my doctor to see if she checked my Vitamin B12 and She said she didn’t check my vitamin B-12 because a wasn’t Anemic and the normal protocol is , if you are not Anemic they don’t test for B-12.  She had no problem doing the test for me and it came back super super deficient . So I was given a shot of B12 once a week for 4 weeks and I give myself 1 shot intramuscular once a month now for 18 years. Once your B12 is low it can take a long time to bring it back up and sustain it. I think it took about 6 months to get a decent number and about a year to get it right. I do get my Vitamin D checked but not yearly more like every other year because it is a more expensive test and I tend to always be low. I do take a vitamin D supplement but I would talk to your doctor before taking a supplement to make sure you don’t take too much especially if you are already taking a multivitamin. Because too much D can also have some bad side effects.  Celiacs tend to be able to take a higher dose due to our digestive and malabsorption issues but always talk to your doctor before taking. Other things could be making him feel extremely tired  like new allergies like pollens, animals, molds etc.. sleep apnea is a huge one( cause extreme fatigue) and some medications. Just other things he can have checked! Good luck

I suggest you eliminate dairy from your son's diet next.  Cow's milk protein, Casein, can trigger tTg IgA antibody production, the same as gluten, because casein contains segments of proteins that resemble gluten protein segments.   Mucosal reactivity to cow's milk protein in coeliac disease https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC1810502/ I cannot consume dairy products.  Some people find they can tolerate A2 dairy without a reaction. Corn is another frequently hard to tolerate food because the protein zein in corn also resembles the protein structure of gluten.   Do research in Dr. Derrick Lonsdale and TTFD thiamine.  Taking TTFD really can make a dramatic difference, speaking from personal experience. https://hormonesmatter.com/energy-deficiency-asd/ Keep us posted on your progress!

It sounds like you're doing everything right with your gluten-free diet, yet still experiencing significant discomfort, which must be frustrating. Since your stool sample came back normal but symptoms persist, pushing for further investigation—like a colonoscopy or biopsy—is a reasonable next step. You might also want to discuss the possibility of additional conditions, such as IBS, microscopic colitis, or other inflammatory issues, with your doctor. Tracking your symptoms, diet, and triggers in detail could help identify patterns. Don’t hesitate to advocate for yourself—if your current doctor isn’t addressing your concerns, seeking a second opinion or a referral to a gastroenterologist could be beneficial. You’re right to seek answers, and I hope you find relief soon. Many people with celiac disease, especially those who are in the 0-2 year range of their recovery, have additional food intolerance issues which could be temporary. To figure this out you may need to keep a food diary and do an elimination diet over a few months. Some common food intolerance issues are dairy/casein, eggs, corn, oats, and soy. The good news is that after your gut heals (for most people who are 100% gluten-free this will take several months to two years) you may be able to slowly add some these items back into your diet after the damaged villi heal. Hi all, I was diagnosed with coeliac in August 2020. This was via a blood test, as it was during COVID, so I’ve never had a biopsy or colonoscopy or anything like that.    I have been following a gluten-free diet since and would expect to feel much better, however, I am still experiencing issues with my bowels. Very strict, so I know there’s no cross contamination etc.    It usually seems to be after I have had a bowel movement, my bowels feel on fire, cramping, sore and very uncomfortable. I know it isn’t normal, and isn’t right and I have saw a doctor before, I provided a stool sample and apparently everything was fine- but I know it isn’t.    I am just wondering if anyone else experiences this? What would you advise I do in regards to seeing a doctor, I was thinking of asking for a colonoscopy or biopsy, I just want to know what is going on and why I’m still experiencing this. Any advice is welcome and appreciated.. thank you.
