The gluten-free mixes were hard for me to find- Patti will understand this and be shocked.....I found the first bag on Tues at Weis..... and they only had the cookies

Thursday I was to Wegmans and found all 4 varities. Still have not found them at Giant---and I have been to 10 Giants....we have one on every corner literally...kinda of like there being a Waffle House on every corner in Georgia....Man I loved that place.....

As for the Chex cereal....I finally found the chocolate the other day at Giant....but sometimes the stores have old boxes of cinnamon and strawberry and sometimes new. I think my fave is the cinnamon.....

I always missed cereal after going gluten-free. I always used to snack on dry cereal....so to have Chex in different flavors makes me happy!

GOOD SUNDAY MORN, SILLS!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

I do love it when I"ve been slightly MIA and you've all been rather quiet on here. much easier for Dingo Brain to catch up.

Is Leesargh out dancing as we speak? such good news......

This is one of the new McDonalds that will be eventually replacing all the others in time. I was agog when I walked in: big screen TVS everywhere, circular marble tables, cozy booths along the sides, a big fireplace . .. .......

 Posh McDonald's? oh my.......what a cute li'l job Sophie has!!!!!!

I so enjoyed staying with my brother and his wife.

Got to see my 93 year old uncle at his farm in the hocking hills. I seem to find my inner core when I go to his log cabin where there are so many family memories.

Then got to see my cousin who who near death on Good Friday but got a liver transplant and we saw her in rehab. She on the faculty at OSU hospital. All the Dr's were pulling for her so i'm sure that helped.

I was able to visit with Joan........my HS friend from Temecula and we looked at some houses on her MLS listings on her computer. She and her dh came over to my brothers for a afternoon.

She is just an amazing woman. A realtor, lawyer, and flies her own plane. I can sure use her positive energy in my life now.

JOODITH!!!!!!!!

your whole post warmed me 'eart.......soooooooo glad you're feeling better, did some traveling, even!!!! And all of this - the log cabin, the uncle, your brother and wife that are fun to stay with, your wonderful friend. And all this time without smoking!!!! such good, positive stuff :)

Sillies-----I have just concocted the most enjoyable lil dessert. Sliced banana, scoop of plain greek yogurt, chopped pecans, drizzle of honey, and cinnamon. Yum!

YUM!!! but I think I must use ice cream instead

Um - oh wait - I ate the whole pint of Haagen Dazs last night  wif blackberries and strawberries.........DELISH!

Pah-Tay...that does sound so yum!!!

ShjEss.....when is your interview? We are all expecting phone calls for references....I neeed to know when to be home. Or do tHey nieed sumting in riting? i'M su'Re wede all be vary hAppiE to dO that fer yOu!!! Good luck in every form.....though I don't think you need luck.....you already have all you need without it!

*snooooooort*

Yes, by all means, let's put sumphin' in writin' for her

I just put the url for this thread down on my reference page.

capitol idea

GEOSS!!! new shoes and an interview tomorrow!!!!!!!! Yer've got all the Sills pullin' for ya :)

ShzJess....what kind of shoes is it that you like? I'm just curious!!! If I have a decent pair of work boots, hikers, sneakers...I'm happy. I DO like work boots! :P Much to hubbies chagrin. When we met I had 1 pair of black dress shoes. I figgered they were good for anything I might wear on those very rare occaisions that I might dress better than jeans!! How many times I heard.....you can't wear black shoes with that.....so I bought a pair of brown shoes (that I wore once). They both live in boxes in my closet. I do have a pair of dress boots (I love them) for my dress-pants type wear. Hubby just sighs these days I have a pair of dress sneakers....does that count?

am extremely alarmed that....I don't believe you own any flip-flops?????? gahhhhhhhh!!!!!! I must have 20 pairs.....it's practically all I wear for nearly the entire year

Since much of my dad's TV wardrobe is sitting unused in storage at the house, I've often thought that it should be worn - - seems like a waste of some very sophisticated costumes, still perfectly good. I should probably look through it all, and wear the sumo wrestler body, thong and wig to the wedding.

Or the German Prison Commandant . . .....or the complete Dame Edna ensemble (Dad's name was Bernice when he was portraying her)...... . . ..or the incredible drunken lo-life, complete with filthy, rolled-up foam mattress pad tied to the back. .. ...

EMMEL!!!!!!!!! by all MEANS wear one o' these to the wedding. But, what a phab idea, having the hospital staff dress in yer dad's costumes :giggle:

And AManda's got herself a new barbecue!!!!!! what fun! I must go buy some charcoal........

carry on, Sills, gorgeous spring day here, we are having the most AMAZING June on record

 scared.........very scared........it means we'll have the worst summer ahead of us

Oh! And, where's Nickel with the information about yesterday's pilfering and looting sampling the free merchandise from Ye Olde Foode Faire????

and Poeter - Woofstock! so cute.......

speaking of woofs.......cousin Mojo nearly wets herself when she sees me as I represent fun and excitement, evidently (she virtually never is taken on a walk - EVER at home) - sooooooooo cute - so Friday night she followed me out of my brother's house and jumped into my car - she has been here all weekend (I wonder if they've noticed her absence? ), enjoying very fine g f dog food, romps in the orchard, some quiet R and R, and her Kitteh Cousin who is FASCINATED with her

rather sad, though........Skit Skat pays almost no attention to Weez now, but flirts outrageously and plays and swats and chews on Mojo.........

what in hell does this mean? such a bored, dis-loyal, traitor-ish little Tramp Kitteh

Good Sundays to all Psillies. Sorry to have been MIA this past week--have been in transit and/or computerless. We finally got hooked up yesterday and the laptop we had left here over winter promptly up and died, deader than a mouse wifout its head; well, no, actually the mouse kept its head and still works but I think the hard drive gave up the ghost. Didn't like the long rest, I guess. Anyways, we now have a brand new one....

Can't possibly catch up with a whole week!!! May go back and read when I has time (we is sharing this machine  )

G

umm. I went shopping and found two pairs of shoes...

Umm, dat's heartless boasting, Jyess. I can look for a year and find NONE! :(

.

I have four pairs of shoes, the same shoe in four different colours!!

Dress sneakers!

90% of the time I wear super supportive sneakers. In addition to the owie bits, my feet are wide and I have bunions, so finding something I can even put on is unusual. I pretty much take what I can get.

Now that's more like it. I went to the podiatrist before I left to see if I could do something about my plantar fasciitis (almost bust out laffin' when he pronounced in all seriousness what I already knew in his heelairyus (Australian) pronunciation of faaash-eee-eye-tus.) And he kept saying it and I almost wet my knickers. He then told me I could not wear an orthotic in the shoe I was wearing, that I would have to get NEW shoes. Ha, I said, I don't have the six years it took me to find these!!! Of course he thought I was joking, not deadly serious, and assured me the place he was sending me could fit me. Well, 90 minutes later they gave up and I left with the name of someone who supposedly "makes" shoes. Doesn't sound good.

All these new BIG sneakers/trainers, whatever, with the torture device at the back that supposedly protects the Achilles of those with skinny feet, and the high sides which cut into your bones, and the very high cut in front with SIX eyelets...Oh my, I can hardly get my foot through the opening. There was one pair of shoes that almost felt right until I tried to stand up in them and the tongue bit me!  Support my A$$. Like everyone has the same kind of feet. Thank God someone else has weird feet and ankles. I feel right at home again here. :D

Glad to be back. A BIG Hello to all; good luck tomorrow, Jyess, in your beeyoutiful new shoes, I am sure you will wow them!

Hi Shroomie!!! Long time no see :D Jeesh--your poor pheet :(

Latest weather report from beautiphul downdown Houston.....99 this afternoon (according to our car), 96 now at 10:10 at freakin night! :o Think I might be getting a wee bit used to it--we were out all day here and there and it wasn't as bad as I would have thought. The bad thing is that there's no end in sight to this heatwave--locals say it usually doesn't get this hot until into July/August.

Jess--much luck tomorrow! We're rooting for you :D

Gad. You remind me of when we arrived in San Josay in July; didn't drive and taking the non-conditrioned bus to intervyous, 103 degrees, dripping all the way whilst still trying to look like I stepped out of a bandbox; top floor apartment, not insulated, still 99 at midnight. YE GODS, WHAT HAVE I DONE??? I says to meselph. Dh was housesitting in Sonoma for his aunt in airconditioning whilst I slogged the streets....before going back to college in de fall--obviously much smarter than me :(:o This English rose never really did get used to it; we used to go to movies in the evening...didn't matter what was showing, sometimes sat through it twice. :D

Of course in San Jo there is not much humidity; I am imagining you melting into a little puddle on the sidewalk, or else stewing in a sauna. :(

.

For the life of me I cannot fathom why otherwise intelligent people would put pineapple on a pizza, along with ham, and actually eat the thing.

Give me bacon, mushrooms, green olives and green peppers. I'll take some gluten-free pepperoni if available, all on gluten-free crust. Lots of mozzarella and some tomato sauce, too. B):)

A man after me own heart. Glad to be back stateside so savoury things can stay savoury and not all tarted up with pineapple and (sweet) cranberry, and the panini don't have (sweet) chutney and/or relish. Ye gods, what sweet tooths! A dentist's heaven!

OMG - I am a little in shock - you've written something taht is almost identical to my story!!! I had my dad for the last year of his life, only. My grieving was so incredibly complicated when he died. And about three months before he did go, he looked at me one day, tears in his eyes, adn said: "I finally found my daughter." *gulp* and I replied: "I finally found my daddy." We had dropped our lifelong weapons of defense, and in his prolonged illness, he softened so.

.

T'is incredibly sad to "find" one's 'rents so late in life. So glad you did find your Dad. I found my dad only a year or two before he died, and I wasn't living anywhere near him then :( Last time I saw him he reportedly said to Dh" Take good care of ('shroomie), she's a good person". Of course he stilll couldn't say it to me. When he went I didn't know how to properly grieve for him. Never did find my mom, even though I spent a month beside her hospital bed; though not so sure she was there to be found  At least not for me, the black sheep! :o

G'Morning, Psills!

Jyess will be heading off shortly, marching along in her new shoon (my absolute favorite Middle English plural form). . ... ......PAC FHAT, JYESSS! Now, this means 'good luck' in Albanian - - I'm not suggesting that you actually pack fat for your trip to the interview. I like to leave all of mine at home......um, all the time. . . . ....

I am imagining you melting into a little puddle on the sidewalk, or else stewing in a sauna. :(

This is us here in Ottawa through most of July and August - - POeter, as well. We have many stretches of 34 C and 100% humidity. Canna stand it. Getting far too old fer this... . . ... But Patteigh! SO hot, so early in the season?? :o Oh, boy.

Jack left here SO excited this am. Here is where the Middle School kids are going for the entire day:

mmm cosmo dome. That's what I need, a place that serves cosmos all the time. So are you leaving him there for 24 hours? or going for the big 6-day extravaganza? For 6 days they must sling-shot 'em into space or sump'n.

Forgot to add that my fat is securely packed in supportive undergarments. Gonna be a chore going pee. That''s the downside of this whole 'dating' thing. I much prefer the marriage where ratty jeans are perfectly fine.

Me Psillies- How for art thou? I missed a lot but wanted to poop in and say MEOW (I don't know why meow.....just wanted to say it!)

I've been thinking about all this "finding" of our parents. It's hard for people who didn't have them growing up and then "find" them at a sad time or not find them at all. I'm actually on vacation with me dad right now who we really didn't "find" until my mom died. Makes me sad sometimes that she never saw the side of him we're seeing now (maybe when they dated).

Though he is a PITA, he's a loveable PITA now.

Families are tough- my dad had a family of 9 kids (he had 5 sisters and 3 bothers) and only one brother he got along with. My dad was the youngest and by the time he was 25 he had no idea where one sister was, didn't speak to 2 of his 3 brothers and it only degenerated from there. My sister and i never understood why but in the last two years he has told us some stories that would make your hair stand on end (including suspected murder). Very very sad.

Jee-yess- GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!! Knock 'em dead with your elfen boots from Em's dadnew shoes and undergarments!!!!!

Glad to be back. A BIG Hello to all; good luck tomorrow, Jyess, in your beeyoutiful new shoes, I am sure you will wow them!

Hi Shroomie!

I missed Judy! So glad you're doing better

Must be the California accent I guess. We were always taught farsh-ee-ah and the inflammation as farsh-e-I-tus. Definitely not faaash as in maaash. And the way he said the "eye"!!! sounded more like "oi-ee". Mebbe I'm easily amused

Welcome to the forum, @Jaylan! Almost all of the symptoms and medical conditions you describe have been found to be associated with celiac disease. But they can also be caused by other things as well. There certainly is enough circumstantial evidence in your list of medical problems to warrant being tested for celiac disease. Ask your physician to order a celiac panel consisting of, at the very minimum, these two blood antibody tests: total IGA and tTG-IGA. Please do not attempt to limit your gluten intake before the blood draw is taken or you will invalidate the testing. Incidentally, celiac disease is often misdiagnosed as IBS.

Hi there!  I’ve recently been tested for celiac disease, along with other autoimmune diseases. My symptoms started back in 2018 with joint pain in my knees. Since then, it has progressively worsened. I now have joint pain in both knees, elbows, and sometimes my shoulders. The pain is almost unbearable. I feel so stiff in the mornings, and this stiffness can last the whole day. I also experience swelling and warmth around those areas.   Other symptoms include IBS (diagnosed at age 16), restless legs, chest pain, tiredness, miscarriages, bloating, and sharp pain on the right side of my stomach. In the past, I’ve also had problems with a vitamin D deficiency, and my serum folate levels recently came back very low.   My question is: How likely is it that I have celiac disease?

The Celebrity brand Luncheon Loaf (found at dollar tree, distributed by Atalanta Corporation) is gluten free according to the distributor. I emailed their customer service line for information on the ingredients, and they contacted the vendor and followed up with me that the "starch" ingredient I was worried about is corn and potato. It should be safe.
