Thinking of our Jessel and how she is doing.

Aww yes the chore of peeing---never fun esp in the situations of wearing a wedding dress where another ones help is needed, Ski clothes wearing you will be dribbling just getting through those layers. and finally in the dorothy get-up cause the heels were so high I feel through the floor not expecting the potty to be so low...... :(:(

Must tell all my medical monitor came to my site today and she brought me a present- gluten free orange cake from Starbucks. I was so excited and it was so good....very moist.

Also went to new building orientation for our new cancer center.....very long 4 hrs....

I remember when body suits were the rage, I remember the pants with the skirts over them/attached, socks that went on the the leggings and you pushed them down, remember the surf style windbreakers.... high tops with different colored laces, genie pants, shoelaces in your hair, stirrup pants.....all my horrid wardrobes are coming back to haunt me....

Waitasec! This is MY fashion disaster shortlist, from the eighties. . ......everything you've listed, I was sporting full-force as a teen.....but you were a little kid in the eighties, n'est-ce pas, Amanda? Or did the fashion horror stories come later fer you down there? :huh::rolleyes:

I was born in 82- so I did sport many of these wonderful rages--I also went through the fad of tying the bottom of your shirt, going crazy wif sequins, limestone jeans, vests, and those wind pants suits....we so named Poof Pants from the noise they made....

then as was a teen here were the fads--the late 90's fads

Hippies came into style again, very baggy pants, the preppy look also started as I was getting out of my teens, but for awhile it was long skirts and jean vests, flare pants, retro t-shirts, flannel shirts

And finally trends the last few years

Baby doll tee's, track pants, those skirts that were so short you could see everything, the same for the shorts, the big bright look came back

Why is this whole Fascist-itis cracking me up. I think I'm picturing Crocodile Dundee leaning over Shroomie's foot going "what you git here is a case of Planter's Fash-EE-Oy-eye-tis."

Amanda :lol: :lol: :lol: This totally cracked me up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did once leave a restroom at a semi-formal with my dress tucked in me pantyhose (yes, I was drunk!)

MC Hammer pants!!!!!!!!! When I was in high school from 81-85 I wore Fair Isle sweaters with Izods and turtlenecks (the more the better) with corduroys and boat shoes. Then the PAT BENATAR look including plastic dance pants, leg warmers with high heels and a blonde streak in me bi-level hair cut (and a LOT of blue eyeliner :ph34r: Oh and mini skirts (the nuns HATED it!) and gold jewelry.

What's that? :P Actually I do miss dressing up for me job- which by the end dressing up was jeans, boots and a nice sweater (which I keep spelling as sewater). Yeah- I wear sea water???????? :blink: :blink: :blink:

Being a very non-fashionista, didn't succumb to much of the horrors of the 80's. but oh, those body suits! You were lucky if the snaps were all that got snapped! And the stirrup pants--always felt like I should be on a gee-gee. But I did also do the dress tucked in thingy and was only mildly snockered; what's worse, no one told me!!

No, not quite Crocodile Dundee. It wouldn't have been quite so funny coming from a REAL man. This was a little twerp puffed up so full of hisselph, with adolescent acne, looking not more than 19, and taking hisselph so pseriously in his amazing pronouncement. So I then proceeded to inform him how I got it, naming all the broken bones in me foot and the torn ligaments, and totally deflated the little Shite so that in the end he was asking what I did in the medical profession. I just told him I was an informed consumer :lol:

Haven't seen a snowy owl or a seal yet but I'm hoping!!!!!!!!! It's an island but you just drive over a bridge. It's where I took pics of the swans at sunset this winter (see new av if it works).

Bev-really...I SO want to be there with you! It looks like my kind of place. Don't know why, but I didn't think that glossy Ibis (or white for that matter) went that far north. I think of them as southern birds. I probably would not want to leave such a place. Some of the pics remind me of Maine....which I miss very much. Was only a 4-5 hour drive from my old home.

I had elephant ear bell bottoms with x-tra wide belts...nehru jacket....paisley print.....Yeah, I remember the crotch-snaps and the contortions to get them snapped......I remember paper "throw-away" dresses (very short-lived fad). I didn't own any...but I remember some people who did. Saddle shoes!!! Did anybody else ever have to wear them? We still had dress codes in school until I was into junior high. Ahhhhh the memories come flooding in.... and of course we can't forget tye-dye. Anything that looked the least bit psychodelic was groovey, I guess. :P

Oh well....back to catching up.

Since much of my dad's TV wardrobe is sitting unused in storage at the house,

I would love to wear one of these. I think heads may turn when I enter the church, and our bride would not be amused. :lol:

OR: Why not bring the costumes into the hospital, and help my dad get into them, a new one each day?

...Now there's an idea. . . .. .....

He's been in the hospital ever since that first surgery, which was April 23rd. :(

Hence the merit of this wardrobe idea - - nothing would spice up a hideously long hospital stay, for the patient and particularly for the staff, like authentic John Wayne

chaps, holster and stetson or Richard Simmons spandex and reeboks. . . .....

What a great idea to cheer your Dad.

hi all

completely wiped. Forgot how intense interviews are.

seemed to go well. met everyone in the department. everyone loves working there,except the guy who's leaving. he says it's too repetitive. good to be aware of. might mean it's only for a couple years (which would get us through this economic thing) and then something new.

Some time back we mentioned psychic energy....and I told you about street lamps blinking off when I passed under (this really does happen, I swear). I went to the dentist for my cleaning and they wanted to take a (I don't remember what they called it....like a roundhouse x-ray) digital xray of my head. It's a fairly big machine that gets a picture of the total mouth, sinuses, mandible and mandibular joint..... Anyway, it would not work! We tried 3 times! I told the technician that the year before the same thing happened...we kept trying to get an xray but it refused to cooperate. So.....back to the room for the cleaning. The tech told another about the machine.......she comes back and said...there's nothing wrong with it!! :ph34r: Why is it I have this effect on electrical things? Must be my magnetic personality :P

Peaches has taken over our whole lives house. We just adore her and are spoiling her. We really need to find a decent vet who won't require a human sacrifice charge us a mortgage payment for services. Up north we had a vet who specialized in cats only and now I really miss her. She loved her patients so much......we want the best for our little monster precious baby.

Hope all is well in psillyville......no nice to hear from the mia's.

Yes......my siblings have to strain to recall much of that late decade. I remember little of it, as I was just a wee babe . . . . . ..... <_<<_<:rolleyes:

Jack's Little League team won their first playoff game last night 7-6. They play Thursday, and then a medal game (hopefully gold!) on Sunday. Jack is no longer staring at bees buzzing by in the outfield, nor humming to himself and doing his math homework calculations in his head while manning second base. He has come a LONG way this season . . .. . ..... :)B)

      My kids take Whole Earth & Sea Kid’s Multivitamin as per our naturopath’s recommendation. They’re chewable but can be crushed and added to juice or food. No gums or citric acid. GMO free and gluten free too.

      It has been a while and I would like to post an update. The hallucinations are completely gone. Thanks to one bottle of B1 as benfotiamine and one of B3 as niacin, both taken together. I will buy more. The other symptoms are still being treated. Now I can already affirm that the symptoms are part of Borderline Personality Disorder. Yet I do have hopes that we will achieve the remission of BPD symptoms over the next couple of years. I think her issues come from this chain of events: Nutritional deficiencies at birth, due to being twin and having low birth weight. Low levels of Omega-3 during pregnancy and first years resulting in weak HPA axis development (predisposition for BPD). Consumption of gluten before age of 2 leading to predisposition for gluten sensitivity as adult Excessive consumption of gluten and sugar as an adult, leading to dysregulation of microbiome. Two severe gut infections due to lack of healthy bacteria, followed by hospitalization and use of antibiotics Poor diet after using antibiotics, worsening even more the gut health and leading to anorexia nervosa. Worsening of gluten sensitivity, then resulting in bouts of anxiety and depression, especially if added with sugar. Different forms of therapy haven't shown effectiveness yet, but I think it's because the issues must be treated with nutrients first, so we are taking that more seriously now and focusing on nutrients that are especially easy to digest and absorb. She still has intense gluten sensitivity, but I have hopes that this can go away after the body is completely re-nourished with the missing nutrients and then gets a few years to recover. Notes: The hallucinations begun after we tried Ayahuasca low dosage. I guess it was the result of a bad combination: "DR1 genes + B1 deficiency + Ayahuasca". I'd guess that would not have happened if it wasn't for the vitamin deficiencies. She has been fully in non-gluten diet, except for accidents that happen sometimes due to her food compulsion. I have been giving more importance to Omega-3, which is very effective in emotional regulation for BPD. Recently bought special products from Omnilife which use special "micelles" to promote quick absorption close to 100% rate. - "Micelles are tiny, spherical particles formed when amphiphilic molecules, like those in soap, aggregate in a liquid, typically water." Currently buying special whey protein which is hydrolyzed (easy to digest). I think we have underestimated the importance of proteins, which is not usually refereed as part of mental health treatment. She is pregnant again, but doing well. 🙂 Thanks for all of the help!

      Hi, My six year old has been complaining of tingling in the legs off late. This used to be pretty common thing with her pre-diagnosis and a couple of weeks after the diagnosis as well. And now it is back again. I am not sure if it's a glutening symptom, or she could be deficient in something. I got her Pure Encapsulations' multivitamin capsule, which she is ok taking, but she began reacting to cellulose in the capsule. I don't know if I can just break the capsule and she could drink it in a smoothie. I haven't tried that yet, so do not know whether it'll be palatable to her.  If any of you know of a CGF multivitamin that do not contain any gums and are preferably free of citric acid, I'd greatly appreciate. Thank you.

      It wasnt really eye catching, but they were small stains which looked like dried out liquid. I dont know if it was normal or shouldve been just completely clean. But if someone didnt pay attention, it wouldnt be noticeable.

      If there were stains or particles on a drink can in an area that would either contact the drink or my lips, I would wash that can whether or not I had celiac disease.
