I think they were puffing something when they made that TV show. Wasn't there a talking flute or something too?

Oh the gala my wedding will be!

Susie, Excellent Av . . . We can clearly see both hands and there is no wineee . . . waaaiiiit a minute . . . Do you have a flask in your back pocket?

Now *I* was wondering whether this alleged "Interpretive Dance" was a coverup for a just-fumbled wine glass having slipped out of the left hand.

"Jack...if you don't lead this yeti....who will?!"

 !!

HR Puff n Stuff!!!!

OMG! :o Just had a grand mal flash to childhood and that most perplexing of characters, HR Puff nStuff. What WERE they smoking???????????????? and WTH WAS that thing?

OMG! I'm right there w/ ya Dingy!:lol:

Well, I'm with Emily . . .not actually physically with Emily . . . just in agreement with Emily. Time to go. I've started a couple of posts, only to erase and start over. The pressure to maintain the silliNESS is just too much. Plus, I've got to work tomorrow . . . Nooooo, not gettin' paid . . . just working with a bunch of 1st, 2nd, & 3rd graders at school. The administration frowns upon bitin' their heads off just because you got a lousy night of sleep. <_<

Good Night Sillies! :)-_-

 What? But who CAN keep up with this yeti-themed literature???????????????????????///

I have now realized that Chuck Norris pays US to be in our parade. At least, that's what his agent just told me. Chuck is THRILLED to be asked.

Dingo, out.

Good Morninggggg, Silly Ones!

I lay dozing in bed last night, and suddenly came wide awake in horror. I was thinking about how indeed I also have pictured Susie with a token wine glass in her hand as she goes through her day, since this has been her avatar reality for quite a while (love the new pic, Susie...got a whole new configuration now. You will be working through your days with twisted wrists, but no wine). I turned onto my back in bed, and said into the darkness "OH!! What the Sillies must be picturing as I go about my day!!" :o:lol:

Think I'll bring up our parade in my class today...lots of meaty English vocabulary there. Royalty, float, machine gun, T-Bagging....now, that is a compound verb that would be very useful for conjugation drills.

"He T-bagged Jean-Luc yesterday",

but by noon tomorrow

He "will have T-bagged Jean-Luc, Antoine and Phillipe". Can do many verb tenses. Very good...:lol:

Ahhh...but the flowchart! Richard?...

TriticusToxicum Explorer
Ahhh! Hilarious, Bev...I OFTEN think of our Frisking the Wookie thread, one of the funniest, I would say, in recent memory. I believe, no surprise, that Richard began that particular madness, as well...

<slips into his Cats costume>

Memories....

Yeti confetti, thrown into the air,

From a great white beast, with billowing hair,

He lopes down the aisle, to a sweet wedding chorus,

And ends his parade,

In the arms of Chuck Norris.

:huh::lol:

This obviously ended with the yeti "tapping out" whilst in a submission hold applied by Chuck Norris. Why didn't Chuck Norris just snap his neck you might ask? Chuck is an animal lover (not in the Pennsyl-tucky sort of way), and the yeti is after all on the endangered cryptozoological species list. (most likely due to a batch of chili Chuck ate in his earlier years).

...must bite tongue...resist urge to post off-color-response...GARRRRRAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!

Ahhh...but the flowchart! Richard?...

Methinks this would require more of a schematic, with tableture and countless appendices. Or one picture. One picture is after all worth 1,000 words. I am fairly certain that such a demonstrative picture exists although i have never personally Googled said endeavor. (honest) :(

I think you are dealing w/ that new breed of youth, who have helicopter parents and have this enormous attitude of entitlement?

E-gads! Not the dreaded helicopter parents! I am actually forced to attend conferences devoted to dealing with these hovering types! :o

Don't get me started <_<

Mtndog Collaborator

Susan did an interpretive dance

Until the yeti lead with his prance

She was immediately enamored

With the yeti's malodour

Enough to put down her wine glass!

Tom brought the Yeti to wash

But alas he was too big to squash

Into the bathtub, Tom tugged and tugged

And settled on perfume so posh.

Light wanted to braid the yeti's fur

With seashells that would make yeti purr

He still was quite smelly

As Tom didn't wash his belly

So light bathed him in balsam fir.

NICE AVATAR SUSIE! And TOM! And Richard....

The yeti held Chuck in his arms

Protecting all of his manly charms

Till Chuck round-housed kicked

The yeti through a wall of brick

Now the Yeti lets Chuck lead without harm.

Do you think if we got the yeti some snow shoes he would like them?

*has a sudden vision of the yeti covered in scale-like armor of brightly colored seashells*

XD

And yes, someone must take the yeti to the car wash. BEFORE i cover it in seashells

No, i do not have shark teeth. just one! ^^

I DO have sand dollars though!

And sea biscuts!

Hi all! I got validation yesterday that I'm a good parent! My 17 year old son announced he was moving out on his 18th birthday (I couldn't help but think, why wait????)!!! Our response was that with his attitude he will be lucky to be ALLOWED to live here past his 18th birthday! I think he expected us to grovel and beg for him to stay.

Can't wait to see him live on his $9 per hour lifeguard job! ;)

The whole incident reminds me of a friend who said she could understand why some species eat their young!

Let him talk to me, my fiance and I both have decent jobs and we still live on a tight budget....rent is 875, for a 2-bedroom. This is in a nice apartment in a nice area, not in the city (Where I don't think I could live) we pay utilities, cable, phone, gas. We buy food and other expenses. Most weeks we live from one paycheck to the next. I can tell him how NOT EASY it is to live on your own. I also have a room full of women in here who could tell him the same thing....dont take living at home for granted...I wish things were easy like that :)

BTW Happy Hump Day everyone!

Do we have Chuck yet?

CarlaB Enthusiast

Thanks, Amanda .... he's one of those people who has to learn the hard way ... he's mad because we won't sign for him to get a driver's license ... he won't follow the house rules, so why would we trust him to follow the car rules? We're not putting all we've worked for on the line (since we'd be the ones to get sued if he hurt someone driving) for a kid with no respect ... ugh, teenagers .. they know everything!

We worked paycheck to paycheck and some Thursday nights had some interesting things to eat waiting for Friday's paycheck ... it sure makes you appreciate it once you have it!!!

My answer to him is, Great! I'll help you pack! LOL

He has agreed - with one catch. He wants his picture taken with you and Danny Wegman. Chuck's a big fan.

Sounds good, and since you are upstate in Danny's stomping grounds you can look him up and ask him...:) He was very nice the day I met him, when I asked if we could get a picture he was happy and put his arm around me. I am sure Chuck will have a great time :)

Oddly enough there is not a Wegman's in my neighbordhood :o ! They haven't made it this far east yet. I was just in Rochester 2 weekends ago. If only i'd known! Maybe we could photo-shop him into your avatar?:rolleyes:

Thank you, Hopeful!  I've downloaded both of those apps and will try them out.  Much appreciated!

Thanks but I will check it out with my doctor, usually stress will trigger it,

Has any doctor suggested taking a round of Dapsone?  If you have dermatitis herpetiformis, dapsone will clear it fairly quickly.  It is not a drug you would want to take forever, but when all else failed my doc had me take it as a way to determine if it was dermatitis herpetiformis.  Sure enough it worked like a miracle and itch stopped and after 2 months the rash cleared.  Then I embarked on figuring out how to eat to avoid the breakouts.  It is my understanding that once you expose to gluten, the reaction happens and antibodies are deposited in your skin.  They can blister right away or hang around for a long time and get "activated" by other things like your monthlies, pressure, stress etc.... It makes it difficult to diagnose and difficult to manage.

I use an app called Spoonful where you can scan labels and it will tell you whether it is safe, questionable (and why) and also something you can substitute.  It also makes it easier to see what is on the label.  There are some ingredients that I avoid in addition to gluten. You can also search the app by a category.  I just searched on "cosmetics and a few things popped up as compliant.  I think the app is mainly focused on food.  When I first started out reading labels was a nightmare and it took me so much time at the store.  This app has really helped me when I am looking at something new.  They update frequently, and if something isn't in their data base there is an AI function where you can enter the information from the label and it will analyze it right away for you. I have used an app called Find Me Gluten Free in the past when I am traveling to find restaurants.  People's reviews are very helpful because even when a restaurant claims to be able to accommodate, often people will find out differently and they report it on reviews. Hope this helps.

It took me 2-3 years to feel like my gut recovered, and then I still had gluten ataxia issues for well over a decade.  This study indicates that a majority of celiacs don't recover until 5 years after diagnosis and starting a gluten-free diet: Mucosal recovery and mortality in adults with celiac disease after treatment with a gluten-free diet However, it's also possible that what the study really shows is the difficulty in maintaining a 100% gluten-free diet. I suspect that if you looked closely at the diets of those who did not recover within 2 years might be that their diets were not 100% gluten-free. Perhaps they ate out more often, or didn't understand all of the hidden ingredients where gluten can hide. Either way, it shows how difficult recovery from celiac disease can be for most people. According to this study: This article explores other causes of flattened villi:
