So I have the fleet all lined up for us. I would also like if we could bring Bon Jovi with us. I think he is gorgeous and he sings great too.

Is there some 'Most Friends' contest I haven't heard of, as my time has been entirely spent in pod-related activity?

3 of ya added me in the last day & a half!! :o

But before that, I was officially acknowledged w/ Friend status exactly ONCE, by someone I don't actually know at ALL - just know of. (xxxxxxxxx25 btw)

Well, I have a BIG confession to make. I have no idea what making someone your friend on here does,--why we do it, what the perks are...Richard suddenly became my FIRST friend a couple of weeks ago, and then more followed. I tend to be something of a sheep, and follow the great flock, so now I have started "befriending"...Do we go to each other's houses? Can I borrow makeup or books from you guys? Do I now have special access to your hidden journals? "Add as friend"...it's a lovely option, and when I get an email announcing that someone has put me on their Friends list, I'm just all warm inside. But I wanna go to some of my friends' places... :lol:

When I added my friends on here I looked at it as people who I can always count on. We may have never met, and some of us maybe never will but you are always a mouse click away (times ahve changed and phones are no longer the first choice in contact)

We laugh on this thread, but there have been threads outside this one where we have helped one another and I look at my friends on here just as I do off of here. You guys have helped me.

My newest friends on here are all my sillies :)

We've heard that Tom is also into...inflatable things. So the spiked heels may not be on his borrow list, but I notice that in our basement we have a blow-up Santa for our front lawn. ...If you're looking for that sort of thing, Tom. I have to think about whether or not I actually want to hear your answer; this is a Santa Claus effigy, after all... :o:lol:

Lye's my last name. Quite horrid-sounding, really, and it's a toilet cleanser. But at least it's very short to write and spell out to someone. (you can imagine the kidding I got in public school..."Em's a liar! Liar!") My pants were always on fire... :(:rolleyes:

Ahhhhh yes . .. ... . I SHOULD have already stated that it's all full up & ready to roll!! :) :)

Well, not roll exactly .. . . . .it's pretty kewl how they do it. It's like moving ships in drydock. A big contraption detaches from the truck, like a frame on wheels, and surrounds it to be lifted and moved around w/out any tilting or ramps.

The contraption is almost its own vehicle, but I think not since the guy 'driving' it isn't riding in it - just standing/walking.

I'm guessing it'll be on a train for the trip to the Bay Area.

Goodness! I won't avoid the issue--kept my maiden name...but don't get me started on that. Although...I must ask this: Amanda, are you keeping your last name?....say you are...! ;):)

Okay, so now I'm REALLY a'wonderin...(Thank you, Tom): Not only do I not understand why we make a special Friends list, I haven't understood the dynamics of such list. A few people have put me on their list, and I figured that because we're "Friends", they would be consequently on MY list as well. But nooooo.....So I have to put these people on MY list? Duuuhhhh...what a way to run a railroad. So, here I was thinking I was getting an impressive Friends List in my profile, but there's only Tom. Tom, you're my only friend. :(:P

You need not fret so over the FRIENDS list. It was a feature added - maybe a year ago? None of us is sure why....except that, if someone looks at your page, they can determine if you are poplular or not??????????

and THANK GOD this other disquieting feature was aborted: you could actually RANK people! Go on their profiles and rate from 1 to 5 stars. :huh: There was a big brouhaha about taht, and it was abolished........................

and yeah, what IS WITH Sarah and her full pm box???????????? Are all the hot guys writing to her???? I also am out of the loop on this! (well, I am a constant deleter, is this why?)

I saw the Friend's List as an attempt to 'MySpace it up' a little.

I have no friends. :( Can anyone recommend a San Jose (we say it "sannozay" btw) psychologist/psychiatrist for me?

And woohoo! Car getting tune-up now and I'm Hittin' the Road this afternoon!!! :D

(Ahh reminded of old Meat Puppets song which starts "We got road, we got time, so we're outta here") :)

1st stop Las Vegas to visit a cousin and spend the night. Then it'll be off to the beautiful metropolis of Fernley NV, via what MUST be one of the most boring roads in the West. <yawn>

A few days of fun w/ the 11 & 8yr olds there, before heading west again.

Aha! Another lyric! "Headed out to where the pavement turns to sand". Neil Young, Thrasher, ~2min before the line in my sig. :) :)

So here is my funny of the day

I walk down to the car at lunch with John. I have a bottle of coke. I sit down in the car to open it and it was like New Years Eve when some corks a new bottle of champagne. All the coke was everywhere. All over my khakis all over my pink shirt and all over and down my sleeve of my white lab coat. I used my tide bleach pen as best as I could. I am still dirty though.

I finally got a double scope and stomach looks clear, but I have some lymphocytosis of the duodenum. I am wondering if this sounds familiar to anyone, where I have not shown celiac...

      Does Kroger Offer Affordable Gluten-Free Options?

      Kroeger has quite a few Gluten free items. Right now they are redoing my Kroeger store and are adding everything into the regular sections. Since this was done some new ones have been added. Publix and Ingles also have great selections. I actually shop Walmart and Food City to since prices on some items vary from store to store.

      Sorry but I don't have specific recommendations for doctors, however, starting out with good multivitamins/minerals would make sense. You may want to get your doctor to screen you for where you different levels are now to help identify any that are low, but since you're newly diagnosed within the past year, supplementation is usually essential for most celiacs...

      I’m so sorry you’re going through this—it sounds like you’ve been on a really challenging journey with your health. Your symptoms (stomach pains, bloating, low iron, joint pain, brain fog, etc.) do sound like they could be related to gluten sensitivity or another condition like non-celiac gluten sensitivity (NCGS). It’s interesting that your bloodwork hasn’t shown celiac markers, but the lymphocytosis in your duodenum could still point to some kind of immune response or irritation, even if it’s not classic celiac disease. The fact that your symptoms improved when you went gluten-free but returned when you reintroduced gluten (especially with the donut incident) is a pretty strong clue that gluten might be a trigger for you. It’s also worth noting that symptoms can be inconsistent, especially if your body is still healing or if there are other factors at play, like stress, cross-contamination, or other food intolerances. Do you have more info about your blood test results? Did they do a total IGA test as well?

I finally got a double scope and stomach looks clear, but I have some lymphocytosis of the duodenum. I am wondering if this sounds familiar to anyone, where I have not shown celiac red flags in bloodwork IGA tests. WIll be following up soon with GI Dr, but so far, my symptoms are intermittent. I go back and forth with gluten-free diet (especially this past year.... did two tests where the stomach pains I had went away without gluten in diet. HOWEVER, I added it back a third time and I didn't get the pains)   Anyway, I am so confused and scared to eat anything now because I recently had a few bites of a yeasty donut and I immediately got so sick. Any thoughts??

      Yes, I can imagine. My celiac journey started with a rejection of a blood donation by the Red Cross when I was 37 because of elevated liver enzymes. I thought no more about it until six years later when I landed a job in a healthcare setting where I got annual CMP screenings as part of my benefits. The liver enzymes were continually elevated and creeping up every year, though they were never super high. My primary care doc had no clue. I got really worried as your liver is pretty important. I finally made an appointment with a GI doc myself and the first thing he did was test me for celiac disease. I was positive. That was in about 1996. After going on a gluten-free diet for three months the liver enzymes were back in normal range. Another lab that had gotten out of whack that has not returned to normal is albumin/total protein which are always a little on the low side. I don't know what that's about, if it's related to the liver or something else like leaky gut syndrome. But my doctors don't seem to be worried about it. One thing to realize is that celiac disease can onset at any stage of life. There is a genetic component but there is also an epigenetic component. That is, the genetic component is not deterministic. It only provides the potential. There needs also to be some health or environmental stressor to activate the latent gene potential. About 40% of the population have the genetic potential to develop celiac disease but only about 1% actually do.
