Good to have you back :-) Patee, and sorry about the migraines. I had them until the doctor drilled into my skull and took out all of this yellow gunk. Now I have to get rid of the double vision and vertigo. He gave me a patch to wear when I'm reading or watching TV (it's yet another reason for Clark to poke fun at me (ARGGH Yee Matees). Will be back online this weekend as Clark is going to DC. I was originally going along (and had hoped to meet GFinDC) but it just didn't work out. He can stay at my brother's for free but I'm allergic to their doggy (bummer) so if I went we'd need a hotel room.

So sorry you're not feeling well. Most people would be thrilled to lose weight but they don't understand that when it's due to a chronic illness it's scary. When I was first diagnosed with Celiac I dropped down to 99 lbs. Right now I'm between 112 and 116. appetite not great so I'm hovering at 113. I've discovered that my clothing and wig weigh 2 lbs.

I'm boning up on Lupus as that seems to be the nastiest of my four major ailments (Lupus (SLE), Leukemia (SLE), Scoliosis, and Celiac. The Celiac seems to be in remission (fingers crossed). Saw my oncologist and my lymphocytes went from 7.4 to 5. She thinks it was the gunk they removed.

Going for a sleep study next week. Not looking forward to it as I wake up so many times a night and then can't fall back asleep without taking more meds.

Sending lots of positive and healing energy to all of my dear psillies,

Hey! Not sure what's going on. The last 2 days I've been able to eat a little bit more but still probably under 1000 a day. My energy level is good, my mood is great, I'm sleeping fine..... Confused. Hopefully I'm on the mend. I'm down a total of 11 as of this morning. Only 6 more to go! :P

A WTH moment this afternoon.

I deliver to a few customers who have mobility issues. I did a delivery this afternoon and was driving back toward the store on Toronto's main drag, Yonge Street. I came by a construction site where there was a black truck with a crane attached. Painted in large yellow block letters on the side of the truck: MAMMOTH ERECTIONS. :blink:

I wonder how they do it? Viagra, perhaps. :ph34r:

They say there are not gonna be any MAMMOTH ERECTIONS. in our town any more. Of course they haven't yet got through their MAMMOTH 'deconstructions' as they so politely put it, anything except the word 'demolition'!! Over 300 more commercial buildings yet to be deconstructed, and the cathedral has been deconsecrated so they can get on with whatever they will do with it. :o The whole city is littered with crunching cranes, like some crazy Godzilla movie. This city looks worse than Dresden. It's heart is broken.

They have started running one-hour bus tours through the CBD (no, they lock the door and you can't get out and no, I'm not gonna do it) and people are getting off the bus at the end in tears, just shattered and emotionally drained that there is so little left to see :blink: High rise restrictions of 5-7 floors proposed - developers very unhappy :angry: but WTF - who is going to want to work on the 20th floor anyway? :blink: after staircases in several modern highrise buildings collapsed?

On a gentler note, no major aftershocks recently :huh:

That's cause we have been enjoying them here! Oklahoma has had a few quakes that have been felt here. Hub & I wimped out & went to bed one night. M said the house shook. I woke up because the ceiling fan was making wobbly noises. I turned it off then back on & it was fine. The next one we were having some good thunder so we didn't notice it.

So I'm at Target, and I've had a pretty crappy couple of weeks, so I need to buy some bedding 'cause I have this thing about bedding making the world a better place. I look through all the offering s and can't find anything I like, because, of course, I don't need bedding. I'm thinking 'dang, what I really want is a set of sheets made out of that snuggly microfiber stuff.

So I leave without sheets, do my grocery shopping, and stop in at Costco to see if they have gloves, and what do I find??? MICROFIBER FLEECE SHEETS! :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

I may be going to bed at noon today. :)

I have a cotton bedspread on top to keep the cat hair off, but Butch managed to figure out that the pillows were fleecy and he slept between them looking like a cat burrito. When he finally had to get up for breakfast he had to ungracefully pull himself up one side and roll down to the bed. Very cute. :)

You go girl!!! I was at 99 at my sickest. I regained and now I hover between 113 and 116. I'm only 4'11" so I should range from 103-113. My doctors prefer me on the higher end just in case I wind up needing chemo or radiation. I've been reading funny lupus books (as opposed to funny chemo books as I'm not on chemo and don't plan not to be!!!). I think we all need to let go of the weight issue and look for the beauty within. And you are just gorgeous inside and out!!!

Still having double vision and vertigo issues and Clark is away until Tuesday. I'm limiting my driving and enjoying staying in my pj's.

P.S. my dear friend (she came up a few weeks ago) was just diagnosed with Celiac. I told her our Forum is the best place for info and support. Hopefully she looked into it and signed up today (or is at least online as a guest)

Update: I just got off the phone with Clark (he's attending a conference until my sleep study Tuesday) and he had two men who own their own companies approach him. They were familiar with his work and the first would like to talk about integrating his work with Clark's. The second one was interested in him doing consulting. Thank God it could all be done from here. As much s I adore my DB & DSIL(they live in Va.) I don't want to move to DC or Va. If that was the initial move instead of our move to RI that would have been wonderful but we're finally settled here and we're only 40 miles from Tony. Don't want to have to start over with doctors either (althought they have some of the most renowned) and I would get to meet GFinDC. After a year I'm really comfy in RI.

I SAW these!!! I wanted to buy them SOOOOOOOOO bad!!! Jesse hates flannel sheets, so he'd HATE them! <_<

As of this morning I'm down 17#. Will have the thyroid checked tomorrow. I am able to eat now though. Energy and mood is all good. Maybe I have a tapeworm.... :P

      Hi everyone I'm James, I hope you are all feeling well??. Accidentally had gluten at weekend and I've had severe diarrhea since sat night. My question is ,the longer someone like myself has been following a strict gluten-free diet will the exposure to gluten be lot more extreme as body now has been free of it well over a year ? Any information be much appreciated and any tips on how to stop the constant diarrhoea I have currently also be appreciated guys x

      I use Listerine.  Rinse first to soften the tarter, then brush with Oral B electric toothbrush super sonic.  The $15 ones at the supermarket.  At 73 I still have all my teeth.  While a blood test can measure iodine levels, it's not the most accurate method for assessing iodine status, and urinary iodine excretion is considered a better indicator.  Have any of your dermatologists ever done a biopsy for dermatitis herpetiformis?  I may have missed it.  Note the similarity of Casal's necklace to one of your symptoms. Pellagra rash is a characteristic skin manifestation of niacin (vitamin B3) deficiency. It typically presents as:  Erythema: Red, sunburned-like areas of skin, often on the face, neck, arms, and legs.  Scaliness: Dry, flaky skin that may become thickened and crusty.  Hyperpigmentation: Darkened patches of skin, particularly in sun-exposed areas.  Casal's necklace: A dark, pigmented band around the neck.  I am currently taking these} Vitamin D 10,000 IU (250 mcg) DHEA 100 mg 500 mcg Iodine  10 drops of Liquid Iodine B1 Thiamin 250 mg  B2 Riboflavin 100 mg B3 Nicotinic Acid 500 mg 4 times a day for hyperlipidemia.       I will. Thanks. I did just have mg B12 drawn. I should also state that I am already taking a Vit D supplement, as I live in the US in New England sand just about everyone who lives here is deficient, esp during our winters with less exposure to natural sunlight. I was also taking a chewable bariatric vitamin as well because of my food issues related to my cancer treatment (which was many years ago, but there are long term effects.) I just stopped it because I was unable to get any gluten information about it. And it did contain iodine. Is there even a vitamin that doesn’t? I don’t know, but I will check. I also take Calcium and Magnesium in the form of “Rolaids” for leg cramps/spasms, with good effects. Thanks.
