Ah, ok. I use Firefox. Spellcheck generally gets on my nerves. Here's a perfect example- it accepts "specialer," but not "spellcheck."

OMG I use firefox also....it is annoying. underlines in red things that are wrong or suspect......such as CELIAC...............

oh my gaaaaaaaaawd! sillies I have found a new man for our parade. (where IS our parade?)

So........the news is on......and there's a man that just moved here.......and here's what happened - his skin is BLUE. Actually, seriously, blue-tinged. So......he was living in Bend, Oregon, but apparently people were too freaked out by his blue skin.....so he's moved (oh, this should go over really well in Madera - ha ha ha ha). He did say that some women like it. So.....the reason his skin is blue is because of this SILVER "tincture" antibiotic concoction he drinks every day. WTH? So......his hair and beard are silver.......but right around his mouth, the hair of the mustache/beard is rather distinctly ORANGE-tinged - sort of gumball orange. And.........his TEETH are also exactly the same coloUr - this gumball orange. Well, blue and orange are complimentary coloUrs.........

the result, my friends, is MOST disquieting. I have got to find and recruit this man.

Right after that, I have GOT to get a life.

OMG my pastor friend says he will come over tonight and photograph the dogs and me for a Christmas photo. am pondering this offer. my gawd, maybe they'll be New Year's cards instead............

Oh no....no REAL world for me! It's just that between eating, sleeping, shopping, I have no time! Let's see

Cooking and then eating= 4 hours (cuz it takes me forever to do ANYTHING!)

COMPLETE MELTDOWN is right. I can't even do it.......muskel relaxants or no - this scenario is just ENTIRELY too stressful and never ONCE in my life have I successfully packed for ANY venture. Then, on each trip, I spend half my time shopping for the right articles of clothing.

BUGGER!!!!!!!! So now, I just never go anywhere.

Here is a funny for you guys. My office mates and I went out for lunch to celebrate one of coworkers birthdays. I drove and I had 3 other coworkers plus my boss in the car....my boss had me stop at the liquor store so she could go in and buy a few things :)

 I've always thought "heinously" was a real word! "Heinosity" might be a bit of a stretch... but it reads well!!!

I read once, that when packing for a trip--- Pack what you think you'll need. Then remove half of it and take twice as much money!

BTW..... in case anyone is interested in a TMI update-- My gluten retribution has now entered a new phase: explosive, completely liquid, acid-poops. The fun never ends around here!

And I am uber-irritated with my best friend. We have been best friends since we were 12 years old, and the girl thinks "this gluten thing" is all in my head. WTH! For the past several years, she's been saying, "You and the kids are sick a lot, you need to figure out what's up." Well I did, and now I'm jumping on "the anti-gluten bandwagon."

How come I never heard of this wild trend until I discovered what was making us sick? Now I hear it everywhere- on here, from friends, in articles.

Did you guys know we're all very HIP and TRENDY!? That's right, diarrhea and uncontrollable farting is the epitome of cool. B)

I agree! Then she said that this most recent, most heinous reaction is just because I haven't had gluten in awhile. If I start eating it a lot again, it won't make me puke anymore. And this is an intelligent, generally caring person, who I basically grew up with. It's appalling!

Try clicking the Reload button. It takes a while to load.

I just went and played it again, and noticed that I'm the elf that is consistently running BEHIND everyone else! :lol:The kids just made me play it five times in a row.

I am sitting here thinking of braving the crowd at Tarjey tonight to get a picture frame. Can I interest anyone in the trip?

So Sorry to hear this Sarah!! So far, I haven't been hit with the "taking it to far" or "all in your head", at least not to my face. They may be saying it behind my back <_<

In my own defense, I didn't know whose head was going where. And so that the rest of you don't get jealous because you didn't get picked to dance, I had to pick the people who have the biggest heads (in their pics so that it wouldn't get all fuzzy when I scaled it).

I was thinkin' about headin' that way myself. What time do you want to meet?

You've been lucky so far! My friends and family are the type that picks and teases constantly, and that's ok. But I know her husband mocks my "gluten-free endeavors" ceaselessly, and I think it's sunk into her subconscious. Or maybe not, maybe it's all her. In any case, I think it's an EGREGIOUS breach of best friend behavior guidelines!

Actually....... The mental chant was more like- Poopy cow... poopy cow.... egregious breach... poopy cow.... utterly egregious... Etc. And my face probably looked a lot like this--- > <_<

Thank you! Eating out/take out has been half of my meals for a while so you are correct that this will be my biggest challenge. This has been a journey and I appreciate your help!
    • trents
"Bonus points". I like that analogy!  At this point, the following article might be helpful: Eating out will be the biggest challenge and will present the most threat to avoiding gluten since you don't have control over how food is prepared and handled back in the restaurant kitchen. Become comfortable with asking questions of restaurant staff and requesting that your food be cooked in clean pots/pans/surfaces that haven't been used for gluten containing foods since last washed. In time, you will become more comfortable with taking control in these situations and learn to be appropriately assertive. One thing that will take time for you to get a handle on is how sensitive you are to minor amounts of gluten such as you might get in cross contamination scenarios. Each of us is different in that sense and there is no substitute for personal experience. When in doubt, however, avoid foods that you feel may be significantly cross contaminated. Better safe than sorry. In time, you will develop a sixth sense about these things.

Thank you!  Yes - labs are above but Deamidated Gliadin was super high, tTG was a weak positive and Immunoglobulin A was way below normal which gives "bonus points" to the positive tests because it can also cause false negative results.  This information confirms my thinking and I really appreciate your feedback!!!

By far, the most likely cause of villous atrophy in the Marsh 3 range is celiac disease but there are other possible causes. Did you also have positive antibody tests? My guess is that when you see your physician he/she will declare you to have celiac disease. Of course, the ultimate proof of the pudding will be if you experience definite improvement in symptoms after going gluten free which, since you have now completed testing, you should begin to do.
    • Lynnard
Hi again - I received the biopsy results but haven't had follow up appointment with Dr. yet.  Wondering if you could comment on this: "Duodenum, random, Biopsy (Cold Forceps): MILD VILLOUS BLUNTING WITH PROMINENT INTRAEPITHELIAL LYMPHOCYTES, CONSISTENT WITH SPRUE (MARSH TYPE 3A). See Comment. Negative for Infectious Organisms, Dysplasia or Malignancy. COMMENT: While characteristic, the histologic findings are not diagnostic for gluten-sensitive enteropathy / celiac disease. A number of additional entities can enter into the differential diagnosis of celiac disease based on the histologic features, including tropical sprue, bacterial overgrowth / stasis, unclassified sprue, specific food allergies, many drugs including NSAIDs, olmesartan and immune checkpoint inhibitors, and a wide range of autoimmune diseases including adult-onset autoimmune enteropathy, diabetes, thyroiditis, lupus and multiple sclerosis and occasionally common variable immune deficiency. History of drug take, celiac serologies, HLA-DQ status and response to a gluten-free diet might be a key for a definitive diagnosis" They say "consistent with Sprue (Marsh Type 3A)" and then comment that the findings are not diagnostic for celiac disease.  I thought Marsh type 3 was conclusive (and I know that 3A is the best outcome as it relates to intestinal damage). Is this just normal caveat language or am I missing something?  I had appt scheduled for tomorrow but Dr. is sick and now rescheduled to over a week from now.  Appreciate any insight you can offer in the mean time.  Thanks!!
