Oh dear Sillies- I am saddened by the fact (fat?) that I have grown quite UHM...PLUMP since beginning Lyme treatment. Thirty pounds! That's what I get for doing something about nausea on a daily basis and unable to tolerate more than 5 foods at a time. And I can't go out an rin a mile so....you will ALL have to pledge to dedicate helping me laugh off the weight- get out your funnies!

Ohhhhh, so that's why I've been gaining weight . . . because Bev is treating Lyme.

Size 2, usually.

Mygawd...I cannot believe that there is actually a size 0. SIZE ZERO!! I cannot imagine that I will ever be friends with anyone who is a size zero. That is just so very WRONG.......

...I bet Stepford is a 0.....

 'Tis neither a hallway NOR a lobby here. 'tis the foyer or, front entry hall. wacky.

Well, 'round here, it's a vestibule....... ^_^

OMG - Gail is the wackiest of all. Extremely entertaining, you MUST all come and drink wine and paint with us. Oh, except she never helps paint.

Susie, I will come and paint an enormous mural on your wall. I painted them all over the main floor of my house, and in my kids' bedrooms...an African-type jungle scene in our living room, and large, dancing elephants, hippos and bears in our TV room....luminous, puffy clouds floating across my DS's bedroom walls and ceiling...it's quite a crazy, eclectic experience....some people think it's just too much, visually. HA! They know not what of they speak!!

So, give me wine, and I'll paint you a whole new world....:lol:

Stepford is not a zero......she's quite tall and she's around 65-ish, could be a senior model, she is easily a size 12. but guess what, JENN is a size ZERO. Yeah, it's really fun going out in public w/ her.....she's 5' 8" with hair down almost to her waist.......and there is Susie - - INVISIBLE.........I don't think any man has ever talked to me whilst I am obfuscated by Jenn's presence.

OMG you crazy mural-painting lunatic. Yes, let's do a Giotto-esque triptyque of some kind.......

Alex! Very sweet! :) OMG - -I think on the 27th it will be TWO YEARS for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today is my one year anniversary of being diagnosed with Celiac disease!

I feel a gazillion times better than I did this time last year and feel so lucky to be diagnosed.

It feels more exciting celebration than my birthday!

Congratulations, that's really exciting! So gald you are feeling so much better :)

'Tis so true, and I always wondered why the terms changed in the US......must look into linguistic shift. Probably becasue too many cultures amalgamated.........but why did a jumper change to sweater? and why in hell is it called a jumper anyway?

Yes, one of life's great mysteries, why is a sweater called a jumper???

This might be one for the Oracle.

Vestibule

That reminds me of that one Friends episode, the one where Chandler gets trapped in the ATM vestibule with Jill Goodacre :D

Yeah- snorting cocaine! i hear it's a GREAT weight loss supplement Well, i do have several things to blame......chocolate, chocolate, Lyme, chocolate. Hmm...did I forget anything?

Maybe I should have clarified, snorting, gaffawing, and side splitting giggles is what I meant

You do know cocaine is the reason most of Hollywood is a size "0".....

Bev, can I interest you in some chocolate?

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o

Aesthetic Vehicular Felony sighted todya......there is a new Jeep..........extremely disturbing......it was all rounded and stuff, looked like a.........like a ..........well maybe like a Nissan Murano? HORRID - - Jeeps are meant to be SQUARE, NOT rounded!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

<what is the world coming to>

oh - um - did you guys know the peculiar fact that since high school, I know EVERY SINGLE TRUCK and SUV that there is on the road? Can identify all of them.......but have utterly NO idea what kinds of BMW's, Mercedes, Lexus's, or anything else there is....can't tell 'em apart......so anywho this Jeep sighting was particularly troublesome

So this has me intrigued . . . is

Open Original Shared Link what you saw? I've never seen one before.

OK . . . a couple of housekeeping item, so to speak . . . (this is the only place I do housekeeping items . . . :P )

Lexi and Sue - congratulations on you anniversaries - (heeheehee button pushing - I never forget)

I am especially proud of my pink pajama pants with the navy blue socks (left from wearing jeans earlier in the day), and white slip on tennies (socks can be seen) to take the trash out. I try to make sure that I'm out after dark. I have run into one neighbor in this (or similar) garb, but I've seen her in a robe and slippers. Have seen another neighbor (male) in a robe getting the Sunday paper. Had one neighbor who convinced me to join a fitness center with her and she did her hair and make-up before she would go . . . I don't understand this type of behavioUr.

  Love the outfit. Um, I actually SHOWER, blow-dry, and put on full makeup before the gym.:ph34r:

Most of the time. I still have the world's oiliest hair and it MUST be washed every morning, without fail. The days I don't wash it - to let it rest - are quite rare - maybe five Sundays a year. Those are the days I am CERTAIN that there will be a neighboUrhood evacuation, and I'll be wearing my bleached out navy sweatpants w/ horrible looking sweatshirt...... and no shoes.

Lexi and Sue. bah ha ha ha ha, you saucy minx.

Eric calls them "lady of leisure" suits. Pronounced Lady. OF. LEEEEEEISURE.

Among others, I have a burgundy LOL suit. Our first married Christmas together, I was wearing it while I was making some Christmas gifts. Had the craft glue, scissors, all kinds of stuff spread out on the floor, right by the Christmas tree....in my burgundy/Christmasy outfit. He still calls it my "Mrs. Claus" outfit :)

Laura- I don't hate the skinnies! Right before I went gluten-free, I WAS a size zero. But actually looked terrible...my sis thought I was dying.

Today is my one year anniversary of being diagnosed with Celiac disease! I didn't even realize it earlier today. I knew it was about a year ago but I hadn't really being thinking about the actual day. Ryan remembered and surprised me with chocolate fondue for dessert after supper!!! It was just a cute little bowl of melty chocolate with a small amount of fruit so I wouldn't get too much sugar (damn diabetes <_< ) but it made me so happy!

I feel a gazillion times better than I did this time last year and feel so lucky to be diagnosed. I think I may have been somewhat delirious with gluten brain and dehydration on the day of my scopes or at least that's my excuse for not remembering this special date until my fiance pointed it out to me. It feels more exciting celebration than my birthday!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It will be three years for me the week after the Superbowl. Been hanging out here ever since...you know where everybody knows your (user)name.

Alex! Very sweet! :) OMG - -I think on the 27th it will be TWO YEARS for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats, guys! I dunno how long I've been doing this....forever and a day?...

Jumpers and sweaters...A "jumper" for me is a sleeveless dress thing that you pull over your head, and wear a blouse underneath. Seen regularly on little girls....and maybe size zeroes...on me such attire would be quite heinous.

I have an English background, as do my in-laws. I know many of the strange words and expressions they use "over the pond." But I'll be darned if I know why they confuse a knitted garment with an electrical cable that has clamps on each end.

And skinnies, well, at the nadir of my descent into uncontrolled celiac hell my weight dropped to just a little bit above nine stones. If I wasn't wearing a shirt, you could visually count my ribs. Skin and bones pretty well describes it. I got up to 14, but am now holding at around 13 stones.

I explained stones in an earlier post in this thread, so I won't repeat myself. Nikki needs no help in understanding this British unit of measure.

A stone is 14 pounds.

I purchased Monty Python's The Holy Grail yesterday. I've always wanted that DVD and all the recent talk made me finally go out and get it. Watched it this morning. It just never gets old.

why did the housekeeper in Heath Ledger's apartment call Mary Kate Olsen when they discovered his body???????????????????????????????????????

So, today's flurry of excitement over reports of Sarah being pregnant leaves me feeling compelled to share this little story.

As you know, Jacquie and I run a retail store. One of our employees is named Sarah.

In mid-December, Sarah mentions to us that she had been feeling kind of yucky, lack of appetite and nausea in the morning. Jacquie jokingly asked, "You're not pregnant, are you?" She says, "no way."

Well, she went to the doctor, and, you guessed it, she and her husband are expecting their first.

Hmmmm.

I keep growing out of my clothes.

You can find them a lot of places, Old Navy for example, but they run kind of on the small side and are straight cut, not for those with a little junk in the trunk if you know what I mean ;);)

I have the added challenge of needing a petite length so that crosses a lot of the stores off the list for me.

I have gotten a lot of them on line acutally, Victoria's Secret, Chadwicks of Boston, Coldwater Creek, I even got a few at Walmart believe it or not, all of these places had them in petites.

Um, two mysteries, currently on some gossip show on TV:

Yes, why are women in Hollywood doing that to their faces? Do they not understand they look completely different and it is totally obvious they have had work done.

I think they look so much better au natural.

And that's just bizarre about the housekeeper not calling 911 first.

:o

 Peter

Good luck with WW Sarah, it's suppose to be a really sensible program :)

Thanks! I found an online points calculator, so I don't the whole gluten-free thing will give me much trouble. It's funny-- a year ago the very idea of trying to do something like WW AND be gluten-free at the same time would have had me running for cover.

Amazing what a little time will do.

But what of the pullover and jersey???????

found this:

The British usage also describes a sweater or pullover, that is, a knitted garment with long sleeves for the upper part of the body, though my impression is that pullover is rather old-fashioned, with sweater now much more common. Jumper seems to have appeared about the middle of the nineteenth century, originally for what the Oxford English Dictionary describes as

Why yes Sarah - as do I since giving up the smokes.....I joined a slimming club 2 weeks ago ('Slimming World' - do you have that in the States?)

I have done Weight Watchers before - easy peasy Sarah with your points calculator!!!

We shall be SLIM and BEAUTIFUL together!!!!!!!!!!!! ......and shall look even more GORGEOUS in our velour sweats!!! B)

Yes we will!!! :D I haven't heard of Slimming World, I don't think we have that over here. How did you quit smoking? That's another goal of mine, I really want to quit.

Morrrrrning, Sillies! Hey, Amanda! I see you!

It's funny-- a year ago the very idea of trying to do something like WW AND be gluten-free at the same time would have had me running for cover.

Amazing what a little time will do.

I was thinking just these things...Oracle Peter, in his magic way, sensed that I needed to participate in a thread started by a newly-diagnosed type one and celiac who was sounding completely overwhelmed, so he guided me to said thread (Right Said Thread?... ).. and I posted about how much easier it gets, how the two diets in fact work very well together, etc. etc. Afterwards I remembered with such clarity how different it all was for me at first, that first month of utter hell when I just felt totally deprived, my blood sugars swinging all over as I struggled with both diets...

But just as you've said, Sarah, it is amazing what some time can do. :)

Okay! There's my Public Service Announcement for the day.

On to Sillinesss!.......

Peter! Good job putting the weight back on. Nine stones...wow. Perhaps you could relax even a bit more, and you would become very Buddha-like in your Orace-dom. This would be quite inviting and appropriate...asking the Great Questions of Humanity to a patriarchal figure with a massive girth is...right, somehow.

..And then we must rub your belly for luck....I believe....:lol:

Congratulations Alex. I think I passed my two year mark back in December. :)

Most of the time. I still have the world's oiliest hair and it MUST be washed every morning, without fail.

I saw it, lol, and did notice the size, lol. Monte Python...I should get that movie. I LOVED it when I first saw it, but am ashamed to say, have not seen it since. GASP! Does that kick me out?!

OMG - before gluten-free, I WAS a size 2 or 4, forever........ :( I miss that, I will confess.

I was a size 4 and sometimes a 2! Bah!

I have been resisting the allure of the velour tracksuit 'Lady of Leeeeisure' suit for some time.......I was strangely drawn....and they looked oh so comfy...and lovely to touch...but damn!...I am so FAT now I have succumbed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But, they just don't make them to cover the butt (bum?...is that how it is spelled across the pond?! )... why the heck can't they make them to cover the massive butt I have?!

It is too hard to keep up with the silliness since being places on Internet house arrest at work.

my ghetto arse neighbors kids

We have a set like that up the street. They live in what we believe is a crack house or meth lab or some other house of horrors. They get all sorts of veeery interesting looking foot traffic in and out of the joint all day and night. It looks like the Michael Jackson Thriller video out front on a warm summer Saturday. Oddly enough, the local constabulary isn't the least bit interested. <_<

matched outfits. <_< HATE that. Hate especially all the thin young 'uns in their Juicy Couture velour matching sweats. Size 2, usually.

Skinnies can have their matching outfits. Doesn't bother me a bit. What REALLY puts me over the edge is when couples wear matching outfits at the same time. We had a set of those living next door when I was growing up. They always had on matching jumpsuits. JUMPSUITS!!! We called them the ugly people, because they were ugly, they had ugly friends and they drove an ugly car.

Today is my one year anniversary of being diagnosed with Celiac disease!

Congratulations! What a great milestone.

Mygawd...I cannot believe that there is actually a size 0. SIZE ZERO!! I cannot imagine that I will ever be friends with anyone who is a size zero. That is just so very WRONG.......

My sister is a size 0. I cannot believe we are from the same gene pool. Even when I was dying of cancer and weighed 85 pounds (not sure now many kilos or stones that is ;) ) I was still a size 5. Cursed child bearing hips!

He still calls it my "Mrs. Claus" outfit :)

My husband gave me a different type of Mrs. Claus outfit. When we were first married, he presented me with a lovely wrapped christmas package. Inside was the skimpiest bit of lingeree in red and white. With white FUR on it! And he actually thought I would believe that it was a present for me! He was disabused of that notion right quick. But he did learn his lesson - the next year he gave me a Kitchenaid mixer.

I would suggest you ask your doctor to order a "total IGA" test to check for IGA deficiency.

I did a gluten challenge. I ate bread yesterday. I immediately felt horrid. Depressed, fearful, angry.  I also had the weirdest night terrors and "day terrors" (delusions). They were do awful, that I am still terrified. How do gluten impact your dreams?
    • Tazzy11
Thanks so much for replying!  No I haven't been limiting gluten prior to this test, I didn't know the Dr even tested for it until I got my results. These were the only celiac related pathology that was tested for. I am seeing my Dr on Monday so hopefully she can shed some more light!
    • Bernade
New here as well lots of things learning I’ve discovered lots of foods have sneaky gluten so be mindful how is it going?? I have issues when I do cocktails 🍸 I don’t know if it is gluten free or not but get horrible side effects and so many others ooh well we are all learning how to cope with this….
    • Sergiu2020
Thanks a lot! I will search that too. I also talked to another doctor and she assured me there is no gluten in this type of antibiotics. Anyway i started the administration of Augmentin on my girl this evening. I hope there will be no problems.
