I have to say I am not the first person who got that attitude either from that direction.

And I'm sure you won't be the last ;) Don't give it a second thought.

Hope your day just gets better and better! :D Are you having this beautiful sunshine? I thought about you Saturday, Amanda--we went to the Warrington Wegmans. Haven't been there in a while, but I needed a couple of things I can only find there (Enjoy Life Chips and snack bars) :P

Who has fiery Irish blood coursing close to the surface?

Discounting the fierier aspect, I can attest to being as Irishly-descended as ANYone, on this fine day of our Sainted Patrick.

Somehow, all the U.S. ancestors, most arriving post-war - Civil War, that is - kept marrying other Irish-Americans.

The 1st non-Irish branch of the family tree was at least 3 greats back, and was a Swedish woman WHO WAS LIVING IN IRELAND AT THE TIME!!!!!!

Here's an LOL: At my fav live-band-bistro on Saturday, some chick was, w/ a straight face and in all seriousness, getting signatures to make St. Paddy's a Federal Holiday!!!

My gawwwd how can someone believe this to be a worthwhile use of their time??

Oh!!! And I think she wanted the State Assembly, whilst in session, to point only using their elbows.

Dad is, as we speak, being wheeled into the Heart Institute for his angiogram. Perhaps angioplasty will follow, depending on what they find. The waiting game....

We'll be thinking of you both.

Y'know, I was thinking, Nikki....perhaps to better gauge how well weight loss is happening, you should simply weigh just your head now and then. I weighed mine twice while away, and I gained about three ounces in a couple of days (true).

Anyways, both times I was coasting on absinthe, and this all seemed brilliant and entertaining at the time.....perhaps one had to be there....... <_<:lol:

Oh it's pretty darn funny from here too!!!

I also got attitude in another thread this morning.....

Is it something I am doing?

Sheesh!

If it's the one that starts w/ a snarky

"Excuse me - ... ."

Believe you me, it sure isn't YOU!!

In my run-in w/ her (partly detailed here as a matter of fact) I decided she's just not as mentally healthy as she'd like to think she is.

The vitriol over the trivial, and inexplicable level of irrationality just ended up making me sad that she wasn't happier & healthier.

Tom, what are those beers that you've got in your av?

Did you get mo' beer from Bev them from the BevMo?

I DID get them through Bev (thx babe) but it wasn't easy!!!

Yahoo's celiacbayarea had a thread about them and they all said "BevMo BevMo BevMo yay!" but no south bay bevmo had 'em. :(

So I talked to my Willow Glen BevMo guys & apparently there's no good corporate system to redistribute inventory. Seems very strange to me but I'd run into before when the 5th or 6th closest BevMo had 42 sixpacks of Redbridge while the rest had none. WTH?:angry:

Anyway . . ..these Belgian gluten-free beers by Green's, of all things, <_< were down in Gilroy (Garlic Capital of The World!!!!! <or at least the states> and maybe ~30-35miles away) and my guy knew a Gilroy worker who lives near WG.

It basically req'd a guy hand-carrying my beer off-the-clock!!!!!!!

Haven't opened any yet - I got one of each - but today's probably The Day.

I'm almost afraid to since I might love them TOO much and a SINGLE ~16oz bottle costs $5.50!!!!!!!!! :o

(I didn't even ask when I ordered them .. ..D'oh!)

Arrrgggghhh....No big updates about dad, guys....drove my mom to the hospital this morning, and discovered that he's being wheeled in for the proceedure right about now...was supposed to start at 9 am. Where I used to work in the early 1990s, we used to make fun of political correctness, by finding instances of the letters "man" in words that had nothing to do with gender and replacing them anyway with "person."

There was a football (soccer) club we called Personchester United. My job title was personager. The books we gave customers to help them use our products were personuals. Well, you get the drift. We even had a staff member we called Mr. Federperson. Oh, person! It was phunny at the time. Maybe it was just huperson nature.

 Good work Peter!! - alway's room for a joke in the workplace (whatever that is  )

Eating my persongo, from the persongrove, I dodged a persongy cat, tripped and fell down the person hole.

Luckily a personly person with impeccible personners pulled me out without personhandling me

 wackl indeed.

I weighed mine twice while away, and I gained about three ounces in a couple of days (true). Now, instead of being disappointed and angry at the weight gain as I normally am, I felt differently....perplexed, yes, but also somewhat pleased, like I had gained weight in my brain due to it working more efficiently...gaining mass as a muscle should.

OMGawwwd!!!......weighing HEADS  .......almost as bad as that (slightly inebriated) girls night in where we weighed our

boobs

...... .........Lemme tell yer, mine barely weighed a couple of pounds

Anywho, this advice has come just in time for tomorrow mornings dastardly eeeevil 'weigh-in'

It's one of the newer stores--maybe 6 months or so old. Huge, and has everything--plus there's a Starbucks right in the same complex. It's a hike, though, and the brand new Giant in Hatfield is so much closer. I do love to get to Weggies every once in a while, though :D

OMG - must tell you guys about my mom.

She is a COMPLETE goof, but not everyone knows that.....reserves that side of herself for just a few of us - and the side that she and I bring out in each other - - pure madness - laughing SO hard that no sound comes out, we cannot breathe, stomachs hurt and....I actually have had to leave the room from her to make it stop.

So..........I usually go to her house every Sat or Sunday to hang out and watch food porn, etc. Now, it may not surprise you to know taht I am QUITE the absent-minded dingo-brained boob......ALWAYS leave stuff everywhere - in my house, in other rooms, in other people's homes, you name it. [ Um.....DAvid found it particularly entertaining that I have about eight pairs of magnifying spectacles in my house, yet can never find a single pair when I want to read something, so FINALLY tied a ribbon onto my desk w/ a pair of glasses on it.......he wanted to take a picture of this for my sillies. Alas, within a couple of days the glasses came undone from the ribbon and now.......just a ribbon leading to nothing hangs off my desk until I find them again. ]

<BTW this is all WORSE when I"m sleep-deprived  >

So......I nearly ALWAYs leave sumfin' at my mom's - - cell phone, glasses, sunglasses, or - whatever-in-hell I went there for - and despite our careful search before I leave - she calls my cell phone quite often when I"ve just driven off and says........."you left *blank* here........" and we always crack up and I turn around.... *sigh*

So - yesterday, she gave me a head of cabbage for today, knew I was heading to the grocery store and didn't have to buy one......or so we thought..............

So there I am, quietly and benignly strolling through the produce department - she calls my phone - I see it's her - I am punchy and tired - so I started kind of laughing right away......for no reason at all...... because I know what's coming.....I KNOW I"ve left something there but can't figure what.

I answer the phone and I hear choked-back sobs of laughter - the kind when no sound comes out and you can't breathe - -  And I instantly just dissolve into lunacy.

crazy lady is on the phone and she says - in this Appalachian accent she sometimes uses......

"ya left yer head a' cabbage her, right by ma phone.......might wanta pick one up at the store........."

and - - I don't know WHY in hell this struck us as so funny - - maybe because it's usually a phone, glasses, book I intended to borrow - whatever - but today it was a CABBAGE. (please note: it's GROEEN, BTW) But.......before I even said hello I heard the Mad Lady just cackling away.........it KILLS me, every time.......and there is a certain laugh we do that we ONLY do with each other......... <Janie HAS to come to our First Annual Absinthian Silly Fest in the Laurentians>

So.......there I am in Food Maxx...............collapsed over the front of my cart, bent over w/ my phone in hand, that hand on the handle and my head resting on that hand - other hand is gripping my belly......laughing sooooooooo hard that only high-pitched shrieks or choked guffaws were coming out.....in between periods of not being able to breathe and no sound emerging at all..........and I am bent over and........people started looking to see that I was okay and was not crying or seizing or anything like that....

This made me laugh quite a bit harder..............and.........well I think you get the picture........

mad dingo-brained woman cackling maniacally in the produce section, others quietly navigating AROUND this crazy lady..........

you guys would LOVE me mum!

My son was diagnosed with Celiac Disease is April 2023. His ttg antibody was over 100 at the time of diagnosis. Now it is at 3 (which is considered negative), but his endomysium antibody iga is still coming up positive. There is no specific number just positive or negative so I'm not sure if he's getting better or not. I'm getting nervous that something else is going on and I was just looking for some advice or an understanding what this "postive" actually means. He gets tested every 6 months. Thank you so much for any responses😊 Attached is a picture of his bloodwork from August 2024

@JenFur, if this is microwave popcorn you are using, check for added ingredients that could be causing a reaction such as flavorings which might be hidden sources of gluten.
    • trents
Welcome to the forum, @JenFur! You must be relatively new to the celiac journey. I wish it were as simple as just having to cut out gluten and all our gut issues magically disappear. It is very common for those with celiac disease to develop intolerance/sensitivity to other foods. Often it is because the protein structure of some other foods resembles that of gluten. Sometimes it is because damage the damage done to the gut lining by celiac disease wipes out cells that produce enzymes needed to break down those foods. Sometimes it is because the "leaky gut syndrome" associated with celiac disease causes the immune system to incorrectly identify other food proteins as threats or invaders. The two most common non-gluten foods that cause trouble for a lot of celiacs are dairy and oats. But soy, eggs and corn are also on that list. Sometimes these non-gluten food intolerances disappear with time and the healing of the villous lining of the small bowel.
    • JenFur
I love popcorn but it doesn't love me.  Right now my gut hurts and I am bloated and passing gas.  Am I just super sensitive. I thought popcorn was gluten free 🤔
