JOOOOOOOOOOOOO-LEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :P

45 minutes a day on treadmill??? dang, girl, that is quite something. I have a vague, dim memory of working out at the gym for like, oh, say, 20 years........... All gone now........... <I should go back  > But anywho, good for you!

White Noise, a scary movie, you say? always looking for a movie that will ACTUALLY scare me, quite rare......

:)

Have had second mojoto, and now on my way to Lowe's w/ Kissey. This should be fun.

Thanks Susie!!!!! Btw, have you been able to get back to rock climbing at all?? I know we talked about it ages ago....

White Noise probably won't scare you, Iroquois Skull Crusher woman :lol: It takes very little however to scare me, am spooked by the sillies of things. I don't even watch any kind of scary movie or I'll have nightmares for months.

Happy mojito-ing and Lowes shopping to you and Kissey :D

Ryan - tis sad about your bird nest . . . but I have to tell you, it made me fearful to report what I was planning to do today. It appears to have gone well enough, so now I will fess up . . . We have had a bird house hanging from the pergola over our deck for the past four years. In about a week, we are having a fair amount of work done including pressure washing and staining and there is no way to work around the house. I currently have a lovely chickadee couple residing in said house. I told hubby we needed to move the birdhouse this weekend because if it didn't work, I would rather they abandon eggs than baby birds. I even called the local Wild Birds Unlimited store to get their advice. I told them we were only moving it about 12 feet and they said it shouldn't be a problem and to go ahead and take a look to see if there were eggs in the nest. I couldn't tell by peering in and I didn't want to lift off the roof . . . wasn't sure if it would fit back on nicely (the birdhouse was a cub scout project and best not to "handle" it too much). So after watching them for awhile and a little bit of yelling at them from inside the house . . . they were sitting about two feet from the new location yet kept flying back to check the old location . . . they finally figured out that they have been relocated.

Julie!!! I'm impressed with your dedication to the treadmill!!! . . . and I also don't care for scary movies.

Soozie, what kind of class is Kissey taking? . . . and FYI, I do clean the guest bathroom too, I just don't tell them I'm going to do that.

I was thinking that maybe it was time to revitalize the old Green Guy Emoticon thread. Perhaps take a few moderators hostage and makes some emoticon demands in exchange for their release. What do you think?

I'm the same way -- I don't do well with scary movies either. It's not so bad when I'm watching the movie, it's later when I'm alone and start hearing all of the creaks and cracks in the house. One of the first scary movies I saw was Child's Play when I was around 11 or so and I was so scared after. That little chucky doll freaked me out. That night I yelled "Chucky's coming!" in my sleep so loudly that it woke my whole family up. Colin still teases me about that. <_<

Emily -- did you go to Shopper's today? It was bonus points day! I got some new make-up brushes and other fun stuff with my $100. :D

GYAH!!!!!!

......."is he joking?......serious?......Joking?......hmmmm........"

It's generally safe to assume that the answer to that in Sillyville is "joking" - except in Emily's posts. She's seemingly incapable of even strrrrrrrrettcching the truth.

Whaddya think.. ...? Does that make any sense a 'tall?:huh:

Well I suppose it is possible (and I don't just mean like winning the lottery)

I do need to get motivated again.

Gaaaahhhhh!! Ptaoughmhmn!!! Yer a Corner Gasser!!!!!!:lol:

That's right Hammerhead ( lol that was last one I saw)

No idea why using cablebox's search found nothing, but later while looking for something else on WGN, I bumped into Corner Gas.

Once used to the characters, there's a lotta LOL there.

;)

the phunniest thing - - I want to post but can't get the exact comic to stay. But go to this site, and click on cartoons, there'll be a series of silly strips, go to cartoons, then click on more cartoons, then click on cartoons collection........

Sheesh this reminds me of the plot of "National Treasure".

(I'll try but it seems unlikely this phone will hit paydirt)

....finished my mojito, it's just SO decadent and celebratory, in the middle o' the day on a Saturday  quite fun.

:lol::D

Julie!!!!!!!! what the heck are you gonna hang clothes on then???

But seriously .. . .we haven't heard of the treadmill since the cautious approach days. Good job!! ;)

<you can run but you can't ... ...uhhhhh. ....but you can't ... .. .ah damn, I woulda been able to finish that humoUrously (at least in my mind maybe?) a few months ago>

Good evening, friends.

Amanda, what a frightening experience you had. I am so happy to hear that you survived that.

Much has transpired in the last two days with regard to our staffing challenges. I can't share anything in a public space, but something I did not expect has developed. Don't rule out silly Peter in Philly just yet.

The forecast was for rain all day. Well, there was some rain in the early morning, but most of the day was warm and sunny. A few drops fell in the late afternoon, but we cooked and ate out on the deck. As we were finishing up, there were a few more drops falling.

Ugly weather in central Indiana. I'm glad our local Hoosiers are fine.

Tomorrow is a "day off." Yeah, right. We need to do the laundry, clean the house, plant the garden, go grocery shopping, and who knows what else I've forgotten. At least the dishes will get washed while we sleep by the delayed start on the dishwasher.

Thinking back to Emily's Jack's WW2 leader puzzle, I am reminded of a conversation alleged to have taken place between Churchill and a woman at a social engagement of some sort:

Churchill: Madame, you are quite ugly.

Woman: Sir, you are quite drunk.

Churchill: Ah, but in the morning, I will be sober.

And thinking further, if I drank a quart (an Imperial quart, no doubt (40 oz.)) of whiskey in an evening, I would probably sleep until noon the next day myself. Maybe longer.

It's late and it has been a long day. My pillow is calling to me.

Patti, that diver story was awesome. Hubby has been busy sending it off to all his friends ( both of us are scuba divers).

Glad you guys enjoyed it! :D

So this week, I am so mad at my neighbor I could spit.

How awful! :( I would have been furious, too.

Is Gussed it similar to Sussed it but whilst thinking of Gussets ???:lol:

:ph34r::huh::lol:

Gus (v.t): To frolic about in a haphazard, juvenile fashion, contradicting one's massive size and breeding.

Er, yeah...I was thinking about Gus when I wrote that! :P

(Hey how great is it to see how well Rinne's doing? :) :) )

Most excited for her!!! Do want to try a Rinne Bar sometime :D

I know, I know.....but perhaps it was yer entire system saying. "Whoa!! Okay, he's gotten rid of ONE major toxin! Man, that feels amazing! Wow...can keep this up for a couple of months.. ..then maybe he'll get rid o' that other poison - - Then, psychological Nirvana will truly be reached...." and your system is just waiting.. ..and waiting.. ..for the final move.... ..

Ya know, Phataughm, I've been thinking along this line for you too. I also wonder if you might not have yet another food intolerance. I had months and months of feeling better and than not--and it's so disheartening to have this happen over and over again. I ended up having to cut out quite a few foods --just about every plant protein known to man. I know your diet is very strict already, but could there possibly be something you eat often that has turned into a culprit now?

Just thinkin' B) Stupid leaky gut

Patti, don't you hate when they tie your entire day just waiting for them to come?? Betwix 10 and 2 is much too much of a window imho.

He was here by 11:30, so not too bad...we got to go out and do our errands in between the raindrops :)

We had a tornado watch in our area all afternoon, but other than a lot of rain, it was fine. The sun came back out for a while late in the afternoon, but it's thundering out there again--just had to run around and close all the windows!

Just found out a tornado touched down yesterday a little north of us! :o Must've been the reason for all the sirens last night.

This was nothing compared to the one we had a few years ago. I got home from work about 15 minutes before a tornado hit my neighborhood.....2 streets over from my house. The same street I turn onto got hit and a lady and her baby in an SUV driving on that street got picked up and put down 2 blocks away. Mother and baby and SUV all fine...except for some flat tires. Cops blocked off the streets into the neighborhood. High school kids driving home had to park at a nearby church and walk to their houses.....many crying or in shock, scared of what they would find when they got home.

We lived in Georgia for 7 1/2 years--4 months after we moved into our house, a tornado hit and ripped through our neighborhood at about 5 in the morning.

We woke up to the sound of the "locomotive" that you always hear about--that's exactly what it sounded like. It was completely black inside and out, as the electricity had been knocked out.

As the sun came up, all you could see were downed trees--some having fallen into the houses and the roads. The sound of chainsaws was all you could hear.....Very eerie.

We were very lucky--all we lost was a tree and had a small amount of damage on the house where said tree took down the gutter pipe.

This would have been in early 1990.

Wow....how often do tornados hit in Georgia? That's not too common, is it?

I don't believe it's common--in the time we lived there, there was only one other tornado warning that I remember. This one was during the day--we all went into the basement, but nothing ever came of it.

Indeed I did! It's so great that diabetes supplies can be used for points.. . .I bought four hundred-dollar boxes of test strips, which put me well over the mark for $150.00 worth of free stuff! Got a cartload of stuff......

Thanks Susie!!!!! Btw, have you been able to get back to rock climbing at all?? I know we talked about it ages ago....

no climbing for me.......I have, I guess, lost that lovin' feeling for it.... :( Would love to do some easy outdoor stuff, but I've never been too interested in indoor. My gym membership ended and I did not renew...

 Yes, by all means........take Skaught and some others hostage (not the silly moderators, of course) and see what kind of emoticons we can get. We really are sooooooo restricted in the expressions we demand and require......

Kissey is finishing his BA through DeVry, online, it's been nearly three years that he's been at it. it'll be over in a few weeks, and SUCH a time of jubilation and celebration for him/us. :) Can't wait.

Scary movies - mygawd. I've maybe been scared by five movies in my life, harrumph. Exorcist, The Shining, um, those are the only two that come to mind at the moment......could watch the rest of the allegedly scary movies for days and never be scared..... <_< There was a Michelle Pfeiffer/Harrison Ford one that was pretty good......

but please remember, this is the woman who, as a young girl, would hear a noise in teh house and creep around excitedly w/ my aluminum bat, ready to kick some a$$.:lol: Always lookin' fer miscreants, troublemakers, and evildoers, to set things straight, I take great joy in this. ;)

  that is phunny, Alex!!!!!!! Chucky WAS a little bit scary.......creepy, for sure.

Ptaughm - -your pesto - do you make it in a cuisinart? I am considering purchasing a Magic Bullet - have two friends that have one, and they love them.......

Well, we are back from Dog Park, and The Weasel is one tired little dog. So cute.......

I think the couch is calling to me now........ A short Sunday nap..........chores later.......SOOOOOO much fun going to Lowe's after a couple o' mojitos........ I even did June Bug to David......this is when I jump on his back, curled up like a bug, and cling to him for dear life........'tis quite funny to everyone, esp. to David.....as he was crouched down, looking at sumfin' on bottom shelf, I attacked

Hi all, Such valuable insights shared here - I am so grateful to be able to read along! Thank you all for sharing your wisdom.  I (37yo female) have recently had an endoscopy to screen for celiac given a strong family history and extremely low Ferritin for the past 7 years (not responsive to oral supplements). I am awaiting celiac blood panel results (completed post-endoscopy to provide another piece of the puzzle, I think was just an accidental oversight not doing earlier).  The endoscopy results are as follows: Gastroscopy:  Stomach: Mild gastritis and one 4mm benign appearing inflammatory polyp in the body.  Duodenum: Largely normal but few shallow erosions seen in the duodenal bulb. Microscopy:  1. Sections show specialised and non-specialised gastric mucosa with increased numbers of chronic inflammatory cells within the lamina propria including occasional clusters of plasma cells amounting to mild chronic inflammation. No active inflammation, intestinal metaplasia, dysplasia or malignancy is seen. Immunostains for Helicobacter organisms are negative. 2. Sections show small bowel mucosa with normal villous architecture. A mild non-specific intra-epithelial lymphocytosis is noted at the villous tips of uncertain clinical significance. The lamina propria contains a normal population of chronic inflammatory cells. No granulomas or parasites are seen. There is no dysplasia or malignancy. Conclusion 1. Gastric: Mild chronic inflammation 2. Duodemum: Mild non-specific intraepithelial lymphocytosis with preserved villous architecture.  The GI specialist, assuming blood tests come back normal, feels it is unlikely that it is celiac given the normal villous architecture. Suggested continuing on as usual and monitoring for symptoms etc, screening with blood test if required in the future.  Worth a second opinion or does this seem accurate? Anything else I should be considering? I feel a little lost as to how to best proceed! Thanks again.

@TerryinCO, Are you taking a B Complex in addition to your B12?  B 12 needs the other B vitamins to function correctly.  Celiac disease and the damage to the intestines makes absorbing vitamins and minerals difficult.  Talk to your doctor and nutritionist about supplementing while you're healing.   Are you on any medication for your Gerd?  Here is often caused by too little production of digestive juices.  Supplementing with a B Complex will help.
    • trsprecker
I definitely try to get those in my diet.  There is most likely a genetic component to the issues.  Thank you so much for the advice!!
    • knitty kitty
Bless your heart!  That does make for a bumpy journey!  The Takeda ALINAMIN EX Plus really works well for pain relief.  I was surprised at how well it works.  I can't recommend it enough.  I can't tolerate aspirin nor nsaids.   Are you getting enough Omega Threes in your diet?  Healthy fats like olive oil help keep our discs and joints healthy and fluid.
    • trsprecker
Thank you!  I will have to look into that.  I have Anklosing Spondylitis, bulging and dehydrated discs so pain is a big part of my life.
