As for bra help, I'm here to support you (snicker)

Olivia (not swinging from the chandelier) has her moving up ceremony @ 10. She is a bit sad. She is leaving pre-K for real school, so her little circle of friends is being broken up and dispersed amongst the various elementary schools in the area. Maddy can't wait to start in the toddler program in Sept...

they are excited about summer, especially returning to Cape Cod ("the beach" to them)

Luckily I don't need MUCh support in that area so feel free to SUPPORT others.

Yes- tassels are VERY important- however, they don't look good under shirts and most of us need to wear them at least 8 hours a day 9shirts sillies- not tassels!).

Olivia- poor baby. She will find new friends to swing from the chandelier with though. :P I like her spunk!

You go to the cape? 2 hours south of us. May have to find you :P

Love Bollocks!

I still struggle NOT to correct the programme on this board (and sneak in a letter 'O' ) that spells out celiac disease when you put the letters

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

As if there aren't already enough misconceptions about celiac.

Like we need the civilians to start saying "Koe-lee-ack" !!

It's bad enough that even ppl w/ the disease will say "celiacs" - as if it's named like Parkinson's, Hutchison's, Lou Gehrig's et al.

Grrrrrrrrrrrr

<temporary loss of smile>

It's Baaaaa-AAAAAAAACK! :)

I guessed Real Life.......am I right? Huh, am I right? (Charlie Brown imitation here)

why I do believe this wacky thread, where dear Mama Spice has found herself, is making our Andrea funnier! :P

It's real life .... something we don't have time for anymore keeping up with this and the OMG thread!

:o indeed! 'tis a heavy load these days!

....and this sentence warms my heart to hear YOU, Soozeigh, using MY very own favourite English expletive.

will use b@#$%$#% more. LOVE the word. And also RUBBISH to describe one's state...as in, I"m feeling as just utter rubbish today.....

she said SOOZEIGH (mad grinning laughing face here)

I am telling you kids something, EVERYthing Nikki says makes me laugh, not kidding!!

and PTAUGM!!!! how DARE you remove the u from colour!!! I use the british spelling whenever possible, makes me have a secret smile within self. ha ha!!!! oh and I quite like the O in Coeliac, and equally DETEST the S in CELIACS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! P-SHAW!!!!!!!!!!!

Sough!!!!

What the . . . .. . .!

Are u the Dennis Miller of Phrez-gno? ;)

Or is that reference far more widely known than I think it is . .. . . . . hmmm . .. .can't discount that scenario.

And Sough? Do u have great affinity for a bi-syllabic moniker?

inordinate affinity, Thaum, for bi-syllabic moniker. NEVER EVER EVER EVER Sough. or Soo. or Sue. I have about 18 nicknames from friends..... , my dear high school chum, with whom I was at pub last night, has called me Schmooz for decades. But, since Coeliac dx, she calls me Spruesie. I quite like it.

Um....does Thom KNOW what Grey Gardens is????? one million bonus points if in fact you do......I own the original documentary from 70's, there is nothign more fascinating in all the world, I am telling you.....it is a tony-winning play now...and soon-to-be major motion picture....

part 2 in a moment - - - -

Methinks "b@#$%$#%" does deserve wider use.

How about we on this side of the pond agree to spread it in exchange for your leaving the U out of favorite, color, honor etc?:lol:

And I can barely beLIEVE u could favor Imperialist spellings! In another time, u might be betrayed as a Tory and summarily tarred and feathered! Or at certain times of the year, carameled and chocolate chipped!! <omg i crack me up>

Hehe that IS good.

But, of course, there's yet ANOTHER problem.

Celiac "Sprue"?? Who needs the Sprue?

I imagine a conversation long ago.

"Looks like it's Sprue" :(

"Tropical Sprue?"

"Oh no, CELIAC Sprue"

Screw that, who still gets Tropical Sprue?

(No one I heard of during my times in the tropics)

<tom wonders if Pseu-zee noticed her precious O was removed>

Um....does Thom KNOW what Grey Gardens is????? one million bonus points if in fact you do......

Yay yay - let's go to The Showroom and see what I can get w/ my million!

(Hehe looked it up the 1st time - so technically knew before YOU challenged?)

And I gotta say it's refreshing to see a flash of prolificity outta Pseuzee.

Oh I beg to differ! My GI says she has a patient who lives to remain mysterious so he tells everyone he has non-tropical sprue. Much more exotic sounding. :P

"Oh my God- Code Red- it's non-tropical sprue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she says in George Clooney's ER voice. :P

Oh Pseu-zee . . . . . Now I must "oh dear" you.

You seriously think I wouldn't know of the SNL sketch w/ Christopher Walken hosting and an ill-dressed Will Ferrel doing what he does?

The question was more "what is THAT doing HERE?".

And as great as the Sidekick is, no video.

This sounds to me like histamine intolerance. Some foods have more or less histamine. processed or aged meats, fermented food like yoghurt or kimchi and bread (yeast), spinach, eggplant and mushroom are high in histamine. Other foods like tomatoes are histamine liberators, they encourage your mast cells to release histamine, which can also trigger the reactions you describe, flu like symptoms, joint pain, urinary tract irritation, rash, stomach upset, nausea, diarrhoea & fatigue. I had liver pain like you describe, as part of the intolerance is usually a sluggish liver that makes processing all the histamine difficult. There are multiple possible root causes of histamine intolerance, usually it’s a symptom of something else. In my case, leaky gut (damaged gut wall)caused by undiagnosed celiac, but for others it’s leaky gut caused by other things like dysbiosis. Some people also experience histamine intolerance due to mould exposure or low levels of DAO (the enzyme that breaks down histamine in the gut). I’d try a low histamine diet & if that doesn’t improve symptoms fully, try low oxalate too. As others have suggested, supplements like vitamin d, b, l-glutamine to support a healthy gut & a good liver support supplement too. If you’re in a histamine flare take vitamin c to bowel tolerance & your symptoms will calm down (avoid if you find you have oxalate intolerance though). Best of luck

@GeoPeanut, milk is one of the better sources of iodine. Iodine is known to exacerbate dermatitis herpetiformis. Many people find that a low iodine diet helps them avoid dermatitis herpetiformis outbreaks. So, maybe the fact that you have limited your dairy intake of late is helping with that.
    • GeoPeanut
Hi, I'm new here. Sorry for your troubles.herenis a thought to mull over. I recently was diagnosed with celiac disease,  and hashimoto's and dermatitis herpetiformis after getting covid 19. I eat butter, and 1/2 cup of Nancy's yogurt daily. I stopped all other dairy and  dermatitis herpetiformis is gone! I also make grass fed beef bone broth to help with myopathy that has occurred.

Welcome to the forum, @KRipple! Sorry to hear of all your husband's health problems. I can only imagine how anxious this makes you as when our spouse suffers we hurt right along with them. Can you post the results from the Celiac blood testing for us to look at? We would need the names of the tests run, the numeric results and (this is important) the reference ranges for each test used to establish high/low/negative/positive. Different labs use different rating scales so this is why I ask for this. There aren't industry standards. Has your husband seen any improvement from eliminating gluten from his diet? If your husband had any positive results from his celiac blood antibody testing, this is likely what triggered the consult with a  GI doc for an endoscopy. During the endoscopy, the GI doc will likely biopsy the lining of the small bowel lining to check for the damage caused by celiac disease. This would be for confirmation of the results of the blood tests and is considered the gold standard of celiac disease diagnosis. But here is some difficult information I have for you. If your husband has been gluten free already for months leading up to the endoscopy/biopsy, it will likely invalidate the biopsy and result in a false negative. Starting the gluten free diet now will allow the lining of the small bowel to begin healing and if enough healing takes place before the biopsy happens, there will be no damage to see. How far out is the endoscopy scheduled for? There still may be time for your husband to go back on gluten, what we call a "gluten challenge" to ensure valid test results.

Ive read articles that there is stage 2 research being conducted for drugs that will limit damage to celiacs through cross contamination- how close are they to this will there be enough funding to create a mainstream drug?
