This makes me immediately think of the apocryphal tale of Queen Victoria having to endure the less-than-entertaining, dutiful sexual sessions she endured with husband Francis. Her famous line wasn't quite "Just do it for England", but close enough...... :lol::lol:

I spent three hours in the 90 degree heat yesterday washing my deck and swing. I come back in the house to find all the males sprawled over the furniture completely sacked out. harumph. men.

I got a little bit confused for a second there Em- as I was sure Queen Victoria's hubby was called 'Albert'......but turns out 'Francis' was his 'proper' name ;)

This (to me) seems quite a common occurence in past generations.

I was recently suprised to find out that my Uncle 'Mick' was never christened Michael but infact 'Frederick'

Sillies, I will be heading out of town tomorrow. I'm going to visit the parental units. I also will be leaving to avoid any retaliation attempts at my failure to let the neighbor's dogs out :ph34r: (I left the house sitter a note of apology and a gift card to Chipotles ;) ) I'll be checking in from time to time but I will have limited computer access. I'll be back on Thursday.

NOT having a good day over here. Major emotional issues going with the med withdrawal. Desperately wishing my mom or MIL were retired so I could foist my kids on them for a few days, as I am not fit to be around anyone right now. Crying over everything one moment, then angry and hating everything the next. I hate this.

And Queen Victoria's first name was Alexandrina (I guess I'm one letter away from being named after a royal)! I don't know why she would go by Victoria when she could go by Alex! :lol: I'm thinking a unisex name would just not do for the Queen of England. <_<

Since Victoria BC was named for the Queen, I think I'd like to start a petition to rename it with her real name Alexandrina! Or even better drop that silly n and go with Alexandria! :lol:

I'm really sorry. Are there any affordable day camps that you could send them to for a few weeks so you could have some down time and rest? When I was a teenager I worked for a program run by the city that held day camps at various local parks. I think it was 5 or 6 dollars a day per child. But that was not only in a different city but a different country so I'm not sure how much help that will be to you. But maybe your city/town has something similar? Also our local YMCA ran similar economical camps.

Should the other meds the doc has you on be doing a better job of helping you or is that something that will take time? I went thru a lot of similar stuff with my DD when she and the dr were trying to find what meds worked for her.......tweeking dosages, changing drugs several times. Soooo frustrating!!!!

I forget, are you trying to wean off completely, or change to a cheaper drug?

Tapering off Effexor because of the cost. I should have tapered off slower, but I had to do it in two weeks. I've been off it for several days now... The other meds would probably have worked a lot better if I'd been able to taper off slower. I don't know what I want to do once I'm through this period. She put me on Prozac to try to help me get thru this period.

I don't know if this is normal to expect or not... I'm literally falling apart in tears every time the sun goes behind the clouds. My emotional state is always affected by the weather, always, but this is a bit extreme.

And my yard swing is all clean and ready for lounging :D

I personally would call the Dr Sarah. if they have no suggestions to offer you than fine, but my thinking is better to let them know what you are experiencing.

I don't have any experience with this or words of wisdom, but please hang in there with it.

Can any of your friends help you with the kids?? And no luck with finding a YMCA in your area?

It couldn't hurt to call the doc. She will most likely either say to give it some time or up the dosage on the Prozac. I think she would want to know how you are reacting.

Sarah, I agree with everyone to call your doctor. She sounds like she's willing to go that extra mile for you (from what you've told us), so I'm sure that she'll try to figure this out with you. I hate to see you having to go this alone.

I don't have any experience with this--wish I could be of more help. I tell ya, if I could, I'd come get the kids for you at least.

Hang in there and stay in touch :)

Yeah I saw the paper's online article yesterday & today a bigger one in the print version.

......seven orphaned children within two houses of one another. :(

So terribly sad beyond words. Can't help but think of the kids' lives always defined by Before, and After. :( :(

Didja call the doc yet? It really is best if she knows & maybe there are samples of something else. Seemed Prozac did nothing at all for me, but all the rest did have an effect.

I'm so sorry you have to go through this, Sarah, all because those @!%#*!!@* drugs are so expensive! It is not fair........

I would expect that your severe emotional withdrawal is perfectly normal, because you have come off SO quickly. Yes, call that doc!

No nearby YMCA? They have terrific kids' camps, and you pay what you can afford. Wish I could head on over there and take your kids for a while, Sarah! We could make a beeline for Jess's place, where everybody could fight for a spot on the lounger swing..... :rolleyes:

Eeek - hang in there - I can sooo relate....

I finally come of my anti- depressants last yr (after ....I dunno....too many years!)

I tried to just STOP.....OH no..my body was having NONE OF THAT

I know how you must be suffering 'cos I was thrown back into

Waking at 4.00am

Jittery, anxiousness, can't sit still - like I wanted to climb out of my skin

My chest felt really tight - as if I couldn't get enough air

In the end I had to taper it off so slow it took a month.

Mmm, Prozac.....I've had this - and it didn't suit me at all....gave me WORSE symptoms.....it's worth mentioning how you've been to the doc.....Prozac may not be for you.

At my worst I found my kids so hard to deal with - and hubby's have got to work ain't they?? <_<

My Mum was also working when things were bad years ago....she couldn't have the kids BUT she did help me pay to put my youngest in Nursery all day

You know - I always said if I were rich, I would never have needed the drugs in the first place....I would have toddled off to The Priory or The Betty Ford clinic for a couple of weeks.......probably slept solid in a darkened room for those 2 weeks ...and called it exhaustion!!! :lol:

Unfortunately - it weren't bloomin' practical for me ;)

Patteigh!!! - I was hoping you'd comment on the coloUrs for Al's room...what with your intimate knowledge of coloUr charts & permanently having a paintbrush in yer hand :lol:

Gawd--how phun would it be if I could come and help you paint! I love doing stuff like that. :P I think it's really gonna look great--very suitible for a young man.

Well everyone, I bought a pair of shorts yesterday :o White "walking shorts"--actually kinda cute :D I'm celebrating my modest weight loss.....not svelt yet, but I can definately wear these around the house and not scare any small children who might happen by :lol:

      I'd like to second supplementation.  Around the time of my diagnosis and for a good while afterwards I had twitching muscles, including my face, as well as pins and needles and numbness.  We do have tremors in my family anyway, regardless of being coeliac, so I can't really comment on that. If you can find out where you are with your iron levels and B12, that's a good start.  I am not sure where you are posting from but in the UK normal lab results for B12 are quite a bit lower than in other countries, so you might find if you are borderline you will get some improvement by continuing to supplement that.   I found taking magnesium also incredibly helpful against facial twitches. I don't know about you, but all these symptoms increased my anxiety levels as I was worried about them.  That only served to make the symptoms worse.  So it might be worth looking into addressing any underlying anxiety issues.   I still notice that if I'm nervous, or worried, my blood sugar levels are down, some of the symptoms comes back temporarily.  It's like there is still a bit of a weakness there.

      Hello, @Itsabit, Your journey sounds very similar to mine.   I'm very concerned about your diet since you say you don't eat a lot of meat, which is the main source of B vitamins.  Nutritional deficiencies go along with Celiac Disease.  Blood tests are not accurate measurements of deficiency states.  The body robs stored vitamins from organs to circulate in the bloodstream to supply the brain and heart.  You can have deficiency symptoms before blood levels change. Have you had your Vitamin D level checked?  Vitamin D regulates the immune system and lowers inflammation.   I hope you can find some benefit from my experiences.  Keep us posted on your progress.   P.S.  When trying not to itch the dermatitis herpetiformis, if you press gently on a large area (press with your whole hand) above the itchy spot, the itchiness goes away.  The bigger area of stimulation drowns out that one jangling dermatitis herpetiformis itchy nerve in the brain. For skin care products, I use tallow balm which is absorbed better into the skin than petroleum products or plant products.  Tallow balm (Vintage Traditions is my favorite) helps my Dermatitis Herpetiformis spots look and feel better quickly.  Tallow soap and olive oil soap is beneficial as well.

The giardiasis infection would account for the high Igg results.  Have you been reinfected?
