They must have been in it from the beginning--hence the room number--coincidence.....I don't think so B)

Clinic misdiagnosed the other day...I have a raging bronchitis infection which is accounting for the burning/gnawing chest symptoms...I have been put on the Z-pak! I had a fever when I was at the clinic and they were saying no.....Crazy!

Misdiagnosis <_< always sets my teeth on edge......

The Z-Pack is good stuff! So relieved you're starting it--hopefully it'll do the trick and quickly! :D

Yesssssssssss......Patti, you have it. It's all making sense. SKaaughtt and his lackeys, quietly listening in.....taking notes....making subtle, minute gestures and signals at one another. Did a dark, unmarked car follow you guys to the turnpike? They likely wanted to be certain that we had truly separated...... .. .

They are scared. Oh, yes, they are scared. B)

The powers above have heard about us - - the bizarre, strangely compelling and hilarious individuals who inhabit their Thread of Silly......and perhaps feel a little.....left out? Um, well maybe I can try to create some majestic BS. I never did officially work in the marketing department, but I was seconded to them frequently when I worked for H!tach! (obscured to prevent Google hits) . It has been many years, so it will take a bit to make the transformation.

Seriously, I don't know any details of what befell the board yesterday, and it sounds like Scott is not sure either.

IPS can refer to binary internet addresses, and driver is a term for software that works at a relatively low level with input/output hardware. Your mouse, for example, has a driver which interprets the electrical signals coming into the port and translates them into motion and clicks. I don't know if that is of any help to anybody.

I suspect that the underlying problem was data corruption. This is the techie's nightmare, and I know it well. There are all kinds of things you can do to protect yourself against simple hardware failures, but none of them are worth a darn if the data itself is altered in a way that damages it. In the end, you have to go back to a good version, if you even have one. Serious mainframe database systems journal all changes so reconstruction is possible (after you fix the software bug that damaged the data in the first place), but this requires a lot of planning in the design phase.

oh my gawd- board IBS  Did we get get cyber-terrorized?????

A message from Uncle Ray:

I knew there was a reason I like to drink!

To all my friends who enjoy a glass of wine ... and to those who don't.

As Ben Franklin once said: "In wine, there is wisdom, in beer, there is freedom, in water, there is bacteria".

Through a number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have discovered that if we drink 2 pints of water each day, at the end of the year, we have absorbed more than 2 1/2 pounds of Escherichia coli, (E. Coli) - the bacteria found in feces.

In other words, we are consuming 2 1/2 pounds of poop.

However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer (or tequila, rum, whiskey or other liquor) because alcohol must go through a purification process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting. Not to mention that alcohol kills bacteria.

So Remember: Water =3 D Poop, Wine = Health

Therefore, it is better to drink wine and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of poop.

There is no need to thank me for this valuable information: I do it as a public service. :P

Well, I was gonna say "Sorry I've been MIA," but I see the board was down for a day, so... I'm glad I didn't try to get on. If I'd tried and been unable, that probably would have put me in a tale spin- it's been that kind of time.

Not been doing so well on the Effexor Withdrawal Front. A brand new rash in brand new places... so far this one isn't quite as itchy... but it's an odd emotional barometer. If I get upset, it turns much darker and new spots come out. :(

We can also add random, zero-warning vomitting to the list. And I mean... zero warning. One second I'm fine, and the next... everything is coming up and up and up.

Having kind of a bad night tonight with the weepies... I just want there to be an end in sight, and no one can tell me when it will be over.

I hate it when I get like this... everything seems impossible. I'll be lucky if my kids aren't emotionally scarred by the summer of the crazy mom. My iPod died, and Apple said it would be about $180 to fix it. Not gonna happen anytime soon. Oh... and joy of joys- I found mouse poop in a corner by the refrigerator.

Lucas's problems aren't showing any sign of improvement yet, but he's gotten dairy'd three times in the week we've been attempting this. <_< So I'm still holding out hope that being dairy-free will help him.

I'm trying to think of an upside to the past few days. Well... I cleaned out my lower kitchen cupboards today, and there was no mouse poop in there. That's one good thing! B)

@sillyyak52 Welcome to the forum! I'm just about to go away for a couple of days but read this and just had to reply.  I am so sorry for what you are going through... it is really tough. Perhaps finding a short video online which explains the seriousness of celiac disease might help.  Just sit your family down and say, "Please just watch this one video with me."    There is one, here for example, on Coeliac UK, which I think is convincing - What is Coeliac Disease? https://www.coeliac.org.uk/healthcare-professionals/resources/videos-for-newly-diagnosed-patients/?&&type=r&set=true#cookie-widget I was watching a TV comedy programme we have in the UK over Christmas called Doc Martin.  If you get this programme where you live, there is a case on the final ever episode (Christmas 2022).  The seriousness of celiac disease is explained in that episode,. Perhaps watching something rather than reading would help?  But if you are after something short to read, I am not sure what country you live in but you might be able to find a coeliac charity that produces pamphlets, or perhaps your GP could let you have something?  Perhaps even better, would you be able to attend the GP surgery with your mother and get your GP to explain the seriousness of not complying with the diet? Cristiana

I was diagnosed with celiac disease just over a year ago. I never had any gastrointestinal symptoms before I started eating gluten free, and the diagnosis did come somewhat as a shock. The symptoms that led to my diagnosis were fatigue, and an ongoing Iron and Vitamin D deficiency that worsened even when taking supplements. I visited my GP with these symptoms, which consequently led to a positive celiac blood test and eventually a positive biopsy. Since starting the gluten free diet, I no longer have any deficiencies or unexplained fatigue. When I am glutened now, I experience bloating, severe constipation (that often affects my sleep!) and an onset of fatigue.  My family does not believe that I actually have celiac disease, and thinks that all these symptoms are a 'placebo' effect of being told the 'wrong' diagnosis. Ever since my diagnosis, they have constantly been telling me that I should seek a second opinion. I really don't see the point of getting a second opinion. I trust that the blood test and biopsy were accurate, and the improvement in my blood tests, fatigue and the symptoms I experience now when I now accidentally consume gluten are enough for me. On top of that, if I were to seek a second opinion now, I believe I would need to do a gluten challenge to get an accurate diagnosis, which I am definitely not willing to do just to please my family.  Because they don't believe in my diagnosis, they think that I take the diet 'too seriously'. They are always comparing my celiac disease to my siblings' mild peanut allergy, and it is so exhausting trying to explain it when they just look at me like I am crazy. For example, since my siblings can eat products with 'may contain peanuts' with no issues, they tell me I am ridiculous for avoiding 'may contain gluten' products when possible.  I am also very careful about cross-contact in restaurants, which they will make similar comments about. I have been told are that "I need to stop being so fussy because I live in the real world". Recently, when I did not want to buy my birthday cake from a local bakery that confirmed their gluten free items are not coeliac-safe, my family told me "Well, who cares? They said it's gluten free. What more could you want? Do you need to take them to court to prove it's gluten free so you'll eat it?" It is truly so upsetting that after a year they have made no effort to understand celiac disease, and why I am so strict or 'fussy'. I have thought about giving them information to read, but my mom never ever reads anything. Not even her own emails, and will often make me read things and summarise them for her. She is honestly the one who is most difficult and very obviously still sees my celiac disease as something that I choose to believe.  How do you deal with people close to you who just refuse to understand? Are there any resources anyone could recommend for families that are short and easy to read?
