Ah, sometimes it is a challenge to be a guy here in sillyville.

Oh, well, I think I will stick around anyway. ;)

I'm sorry Peter....

So My sister said the word Yeti tonight on the phone.

I also have an unexpected visitor tonight. Landen is sleeping at my house, he arrived at 10. So his cousin was supposed to watch him this evening....the same girl who needed the preggy test earilier. Well Jen went to work, John and I went to WEggies. We got home and I noticed Becky's boyfriends car was here, and it was not even after Landen's bedtime. John and I went in to make dinner. A little while later Jen texted me and asked me if I seen Becky at all since she could not get in touch with her by phone or anything. I said no but said look her guy friend is here but I wasnt saying anything. Jen was pretty mad, she had told Beck no boys in the house. So at 10 Jen took a leave from work to come home for a bit since here it was 10 and she still couldnt get in touch with Beck. She was worried about her baby....So Jen arrives to find Becky and this guy drunk, Landen in bed but never even changed so she had been in touch with me on her way home and asked if we had plans, I did say yes since John and I were going out tonight, but when she explained what all was going on. SO Jen brought Landen up here and laid him right in the crib. it was not until she was coming up my stairs did she figure out Landen had a wet diaper on and he had no clothes on. She brought his blanket and binkie but we didnt change him since it would wake him up and that would cause problems. Jen kicked Becky out of the house. Jen came back with Landens diaper bag and she was crying. She was worried she ruined our evening and what would she have done if we werent home....I just told her Landens ok now, not to worry about our plans, we have many nights. Its more important that he is safe. So I calmed Jen down and she went to work....more later Landen hasnt woke up yet, we turned down the AC tonight so he is comfy. I am going to give him a bath in the morning.

I used to work in daycares so I love children the preschool job sounds fun!!!!

Good Morning, Sillies!!

Well, I'm sure Landen had a good night's sleep, all changed and comfy in your crib, Amanda. Jen is SO lucky to have you!

Got a question fer y'all.........does anyone have experience with hot tubs? We are seriously considering the purchase of one, and the main reason would be for our sore, tight, overworked muscles (DH works out as much, if not more, than I). None of the athletic people we know have been in a hot tub enough to say whether or not it really helps. My RMT girlfriend tells me it often works wonders. It makes sense, pounding jets of water working over your muscles. .. . ..I just dunno. Think I'll start a new thread on it.

May do nuttin' fer me muscles, but our social lives may explode........

Em--We had a hot tub at our former house. We ended up giving it to our son when we moved last year because it was on the deck and here we don't have a deck (we have a back/side porch) and have no plans for one.

I think you and W would find it very helpful for your sore muscles. You can position the jets to take full advantage of them and there's nothin like sitting in the hot, bubbling water when it's cold (or even snowing) out side. I think you'd love it! The kids, too.

Get one big enough for 6, though because you're right about your social life :P ......put in a hot tub, and they will come......

Julie!!!....you traitor!!!

Hee!

FACEBOOK! Julie, isn't it great? We've got a Psilly friendship circle started! :);)

YES! All Sillies not there should report to Facebook stat! We could take over with wacklness and mispelled words

You know I was in a silly mood yesterday and I felt like writing in the "religion" and "political views" section something like....the religion of LOVE, or power to the people political party, but I didn't

Nothing says party like a hot tub  Sounds like phun!

Kids have a habit of sitting in chairs on their knees, thus they are usually leaning over the table or desk. So if they are told to sit on their (BACK ) pockets, it's nicer than telling them to sit on their butts.

Lisa! I love the sit on your pockets thing, it's very cute. Going to use that with my 3 yr old niece :)

Bunnie Bobbit? Nobody tell my boyfriend......

Sorry Peter!!! There is an overflow of estrogen in Sillyville, we need some more testosterone to balance it out

Omgosh Amanda, I am so glad you and John were home last night to take Landon.

Yes!! Nikki's heading over! Do you currently have any huge, festering blisters on yer feet? I think the bromide in the water and the "gentle jet" setting is phab for such heinosities.

And superb for post-surgery trauma! Uterusless Jess and New-knee Janet, there'll be spots fer you and you can direct the jets where they're needed.....Soooooozie must sit and have the jets firing onto her gimpy back...... . .. Bev! you can blast yer PICC area........Patti - - yer enzymes could be targeted (but I think they're perfect now, correct?).

Okay, what can we fix in my tub for PeOter, Amanda, Lisa, Julie, Judy, Ptaoughmghmn, Ryan....who am I missing??.......Bunnie and Laura........

Mygawd.... ... that's it. I need a fifteen-seater..........

Hi Sillies-

Well Landen did sleep through the night. Jen is making Becky leave for good. Its a good thing, since they do not need that extra stress in their lives either. Landen was a bit confused waking up in a different place but he took it in stride and was happy to see us.

Jen is not going in to work tonight she called off, saying the whole Becky drama has made her stomach upset and she just feels she needs a night to herself. I cannot agree more. Becky has caused a lot of drama this summer and Jen was stuck in the middle since it is her relative.

John and I had taken a few weeks to ourselves and didnt watch Landen as much since August 1st, we would pick up an evening here and there. We will go back on a full schedule now though and since he is sleeping so much better since he is in a crib in our house that totally works.

So Landen will return tomorrow evening and once again next weekend. Jen will start moving on Oct. 1st. My mom is going to keep Landen overnight while we help Jen move. So between us looking to move, her actually moving the next few months are busy busy busy!

You'd think so such is the ferocity of the phine  .....but NO, I caused no obstruction - I merey parked outside my local petrol garage to nip in the shop attached (Buy 1 pack of chicken breasts get 1 free!)

Dearest chicken breasts I've eaten in a while

Sorry about your trip Laura, but it is rather crappy around here. You made a good choice. You'll just have to make the next trip EXTRA special.

I have a yard full of debre to drag to the street. Annie took some pictures of home and the beach and I try to post them when she gets back from the beach with her camera... (translation, I will have her post the pictures and I'll watch her do it.). It's really interesting how impressive "just" a tropical storm can be.

We are having wind and heavy rain here. Its pretty gloomy. I took a nap this morning for 2 hrs....I never do that but it was the perfect day for it and it was so relaxing, the rain was pounding the window and you know I am getting sleepy just thinking about it :P

sunny and mid seventies here :D:rolleyes:

(aw c'mon, how often do I get to say that from Seattle?)

Mygawd! We're gettin' some Hanna up here, as well..... . . rainin' BUCKETS.

It's not raining men. This is fortunate, as men can cause extensive roof and structural damage, and house insurance does not cover property destruction from projectile homo sapiens......

:lol::rolleyes:

Kroeger has quite a few Gluten free items.  Right now they are redoing my Kroeger store and are adding everything into the regular sections.  Since this was done some new ones have been added.  Publix and Ingles also have great selections. I actually shop Walmart and Food City to since prices on some items vary from store to store.

Sorry but I don't have specific recommendations for doctors, however, starting out with good multivitamins/minerals would make sense. You may want to get your doctor to screen you for where you different levels are now to help identify any that are low, but since you're newly diagnosed within the past year, supplementation is usually essential for most celiacs.

Yes, I can imagine. My celiac journey started with a rejection of a blood donation by the Red Cross when I was 37 because of elevated liver enzymes. I wasn't a drinker and my family doctor checked me for hepatitis and I was not overweight. No answers. I thought no more about it until six years later when I landed a job in a healthcare setting where I got annual CMP screenings as part of my benefits. The liver enzymes were continually elevated and creeping up every year, though they were never super high. My primary care doc had no clue. I got really worried as your liver is pretty important. I finally made an appointment with a GI doc myself and the first thing he did was test me for celiac disease. I was positive. That was in about 1996. After going on a gluten-free diet for three months the liver enzymes were back in normal range. Another lab that had gotten out of whack that has not returned to normal is albumin/total protein which are always a little on the low side. I don't know what that's about, if it's related to the liver or something else like leaky gut syndrome. But my doctors don't seem to be worried about it. One thing to realize is that celiac disease can onset at any stage of life. There is a genetic component but there is also an epigenetic component. That is, the genetic component is not deterministic. It only provides the potential. There needs also to be some health or environmental stressor to activate the latent gene potential. About 40% of the population have the genetic potential to develop celiac disease but only about 1% actually do.

Hello @Heather Hill You are most welcome.  As a longstanding member and now mod of the forum, I am ashamed to say I find numbers and figures very confusing, so I rarely stray into the realms of explaining markers. (I've self-diagnosed myself with dyscalculia!)  So I will leave that to @Scott Adams or another person. However as a British person myself I quite understand that the process with the NHS can take rather a long time.  But just as you made a concerted effort to eat gluten before your blood test, I'd advise doing the same with eating gluten before a biopsy, in order to show if you are reacting to gluten.  It might be worth contacting the hospital or your GPs secretary to find out if they know what the current waiting time is. Here is a page from Coeliac UK about the current NHS recommendations. https://www.coeliac.org.uk/information-and-support/coeliac-disease/getting-diagnosed/blood-tests-and-biospy/#:~:text=If you remove or reduce, least six weeks before testing. Thanks again. My mom was diagnosed over 50 years ago with celiac so grew up watching her deal with the challenges of food. I have been tested a few times prior due to this but these results have me a bit stunned. I have a liver disease that has advanced rapidly with no symptoms and an allergy that could be a contributing factor that had no symptoms. I guess I’ll call it lucky my Dr ordered a rescreen of a liver ultrasound from 5 years ago that triggered this or I would likely have tripped into cirrhosis. It’s all pretty jarring.
