Exactement. Some weeds are actually a lovely shade of emerald, harlequin or jade. I simply pretend that they are acceptable plants, placed intentionally. . . . . . .. <_<

hhhmmmm. Maybe I can use this as an excuse to stop ripping the blackberries and nettles out of my yard, as both are edible.

You and me both! My 'Susie Homemaker' days are over!

edit: No reference to you, Souczle!

BTW Carla.....For some ridiculous reason I started reading this thread from the beginning and saw that you are a flautist.......me too.

I haven't played in a couple of years, though.

I didn't play my flute for 23 years!!! I picked it up about four years ago and from day 1 was playing it at church, LOL. The whole parish got to hear me re-learn it!

Post count just rolled over!:ph34r:

So far, the only phluid phenomenon is that I'll probably be sleeping with tissues up me nose tonight. :(

My DD and I would noodle around together when she was in HS. We played a duet for my in-law's anniversary party about 10 or so years ago......DD was in MS. We also played in a quartet for my niece's wedding a few years ago.....that was awesome! And then we played a duet at my son's wedding a couple years ago and I totally blew one song.......too much stress and emotion......I should have never agreed to do it.

Sillies-- This house hunting thing is so un-phunny. We are just not having the luck finding anything....and we arent being too picky either.

My sister had a slight domestic accident this evening, she was sewing on her machine and the needle went through her finger. It was the heaviest gauge needle you could get....split off her nail and she was in the ER to get repairs....of course she had to send me the pics and they were gross!

Omg....ouch!! :( That does sound painphul. Hope she can get some sleep tonight.

Don't lose heart--sometimes it takes time to find the perfect house. It's a big decision, so try and be patient. You'll find it, though--I know it's out there :D Then all this time spent searching will have been well worth it.

It has been a while since I put my silly on and posted here. There have been some troubles in the business world that have diverted my attention. We are working more hours at the moment, but things are actually much better since we got rid of a problem employee on Tuesday. We're off tomorrow, the first day off in almost two weeks. I haven't read everything that I missed, so if I seem clueless about something, well, you know, I'm over fifty now. B)

Things sound better for ya, PeOter - - just as many hours for you, but less stressful, as you have a new, dependable person at the helm. :) So glad to hear this.. . . . .

Had A TERRIFIC evening at my friend's. She is ill, but in so many ways she is just like we were as teenagers. So positive, and happy.. ... . .. and here I was, complaining about my car that needs repairs and the fact that I can't fit the electrician in next week. . . .. ...

Puts things all into perspective, for certain.

I need to see her more often, to realize how incredibly lucky I am.

....How I dassent worry about the silly things that I do. <_<:)

I hear if you sneak up on them very quietly, you can grab 'em before they run away.

Thanks for the reminder. Easy to get caught up in things that, in the long run, are unimportant. Really, the only thing that matters is the people who touch our lives

WooooHOOOOO I'm the first post of the morning!!

I NEVER get to be the first one :D

Yesterday, when I went for my walk, I thought I'd walk a little farther so I went one more street section before turning downhill (ruralesque here, street sections are 1/2 mile).

As it turns out, the streets are named a bit inconsistently (old territorial roads) and I got lost. I ended up at this beautiful little cove and walked along the edge of the water. Roosters off in the distance. The trickle of water down the hill, finish its journey to the sea. The smallest slap of waves as the last of the ocean's power dissipated against the shore.

I'm gonna try to find it again this morning.

Ya beat me to the post, Jess! :D Good morning. . . . . I do hope you find that little heavenly place again this a.m. I WANNA LIVE ON THE OCEAN! I've just got our meandering Ottawa River. .. . .. and hordes of snarky Canada geese squawking and pooping all over everything. Boy, if you were underneath these creatures while they let some of this go in flight, you'd look like a mud-wrestler. . .. . . ...:rolleyes:

Yep. I am SO lucky to have a great friend like this, who not only brings so much to my life, but serves as a constant, valuable reminder of what I've got. Man, all I have to complain about is that my daughter wears stupid clothes and one of my students can't seem to understand the present perfect. . . . . .... <_<

The Ripper returns this afternoon from what must have been a rather wet outdoor experience at cub camp. Everything will be damp, muddy and smelly. Now, this I simply can't help but complain about. . . . . . ......

Ahh--normalcy  This is nice!

Em, you're so right--life is too short and fragile to get caught up and waste time in things that don't really matter. ;)

Nik--what's Tel makin fer dinner today? Hee--I haven't even eaten breakfast yet :P

Wow Jess, where you live sounds so beautiphul! Take a wrong turn and end up in a water trickled cove. Nice! :)

Also ask for a test of vitamin D levels. I agree with knitty kitty that cyclical Thiamine deficiency may be the cause of your cycle.  Celiac Disease causes multiple vitamin and mineral deficiencies.   Itchy palms can be a symptom of iodine deficiency.  Low iodine levels can lead to dry, flaky skin on the hands and  body due to the disruption of normal skin cell regeneration caused by a lack of thyroid hormone production, which relies on iodine. Other symptoms are   fatigue, weight gain, sensitivity to cold. I take between 600 and 1200 mcg a day Liquid Iodine. It has improved my healing.  Strong Iodine and Lugols Solution are other options.  Start low and build up over time. Between 1970 and 1988 the dietary intake of Americans dropped by 50%. Perhaps this is why some can tolerate the bread in Europe?

Be cautious with vitamin D if you are female and post-menopausal.  I had to decrease my D dosage from 4000 IU/day to 2000 IU because of hormonal acne and unwanted facial hair - likely from an increased testosterone level from the D.  Finally relief!  I hope to keep my D level below 50 nm/l now.

Do you eat processed gluten free foods?
    • Scott Adams
You may want to wear an N-95 mask to filter out any possible gluten, at least when you handle the flour.
    • Scott Adams
It sounds like you've been on quite the journey trying to understand your symptoms and diagnosis. It’s great that you’re planning to consult a doctor for allergy testing, as distinguishing between a wheat allergy, celiac disease, or another gluten-related condition is crucial for moving forward. The fact that you’ve tolerated barley and wheat products without recent symptoms might suggest something other than celiac disease, but as you noted, the absence of immediate symptoms doesn’t necessarily rule out potential underlying damage, especially if celiac disease is still a possibility. It’s worth discussing whether you should undergo updated testing, such as genetic testing for celiac markers (HLA-DQ2/DQ8), or even revisiting an endoscopy if appropriate. In the meantime, keep documenting your experiences with food and symptoms—it could provide valuable insights for your healthcare provider. It’s also important to test for other possible causes of your original symptoms, like IBS, food intolerances, or even other autoimmune conditions, to ensure nothing is overlooked.
