Where IS everyone??!!?? Where are the morning posters???

I was wondering the same thing.

HEYYYY!!!

Was everybody deeply concerned about me? Not at my normal 7 am posting position. . .. nothing until late morning? Gad. . .. what on earth is happening with that girl??

Hmmm . .....nuttin' exciting. You can all relax, as I know you were worried. . .... <_<

Internet was NOT working this morning. Now it seems to be back.

...And me cursor is here.... . . . . .

So all is good. :)

I have heard something interesting: For some time now, the medical powers that be have been searching for a well-known song with a beat that most closely counts out the proper speed for chest compressions during CPR. They fell upon it last week, and it has now been officially named as the CPR Song.

Very phunny.. . . I am certain that these blokes were not thinking of hammering out the right timing for chest-pounding when they wrote this, but there you are:

It's a little fast, and apparently too many compressions per minute strongly affect the efficacy of the proceedure, as much as not enough compressions. They have it down now - - the optimal number per minute, and I guess they went searching for a song that has that number of BPM. Phunnily ironic. .. . .....

So, I guess we should all be wearing our mp3s and ipods wherever we go, and have Stayin' Alive all cued up. You absolutely never know when someone's gonna collapse in front of you.

...But what if YOU are the one who's collapsed?. . . . ..

Hmmm .. . .must train myself to hum this song while semi-conscious, for those working around me. . .. .... <_<

It is awfuly quiet today, though......

Green12 Enthusiast

I definitely do NOT have a life today, nor for the past several days

Patti is right I have had a bad breakout and have been pretty sick :( but I am slowly coming back to the land of the living, and I can type a little bit today ....when I disappear that is usually the reason unfortunately, even if I had a life I would be here posting with me Sillies!!! :D

Reading, but no silly. Trying to QC my 700 some odd samples (think:transferring drops of water from one tray of little well to a different tray of little wells, but in a random order).

Gender matches show some that don't match

Don't suppose they'd be willing to change their gender for me, if I asked nicely....oh, wait. That wouldn't change their DNA anyway.

sigh

Guess I have to figure it out.

Another important school board meeting tonight . . . I'm never silly on school board meeting days . . . Today is the day that they vote and eliminate the program that both of my kids are in at the school :( Have I told you guys how much I intensely dislike our principal???

curlyfries Contributor

Can we trade in today for another one? Woke up late this morning......had only 15 min to get out the door  . Sooooo....the trash didn't get put out, I forgot to put blush on <GASP> :o . I packed stuff to put on a tostada for lunch, but no tostada <_<, forgot to grab a protein bar for breakfast, ........and to top it off.....my hair is looking a bit blue....seriously  . Devil child forgot his meds and had cussed out practically everyone by 10:00  .

I stayed afterschool to run with the girls, and forgot to clock out. It will be a hassle getting that fixed tomorrow.....have to get chastised for that.

But it's OK.......my gender matches, no board meetings, arrow missed my covered wagon, my kind of breakout won't stop me from typing, and I'm not missing.

Since we're playing "Where is.....?".........haven't seen Ryan in like.......forever.

Jooolie! Feel well soon. . ... :)

Ptaoughmnghmnuss sounds SO busy - -flitting about, moving and working and don't you have your mom visiting? 'Tis hectic for the bravest and healthiest of hearts. .. ... ..soldier on, man! :);)

Janet. . .. principal nightmare....hate this.

If he collapses during ANY council meeting, start humming Heard it through the Grapevine or Paint it Black, and instruct those who are administering CPR to follow your beat.. . . ..

Paint it Black has quite a bit faster tempo than Grapevine or the others.

I think of him whenever I'm in the hot tub, wondering if he's sitting in his . . . ..he and his wife use theirs apparently all the time. OMG, it can get SO bone-chillingly cold in the prairies....seriously, I cannot imagine sitting out in -40 weather, even if I were sitting in hot bubbly water. :o

Grapevine is WAY too slow, and Paint it Black WAY too fast. This is Janet's principal we're talkin' about, heeyah! :o:lol:

Blue hair? oh NOOO...dyed mine cherry bomb red once. Was aiming for a deep burgundy brunette but my hair had some blonde in it from the summer. I had to teach high school boys (yes- my classes were ALL adolescent boys my first two years of teaching-AHHHH!!!!!!!!) for a day with said hair. Never doing THAT again!

Oh- poor Ryan- wouldn't things shrivel up and fall off (regardless of gender!) in that weather :o :o

HI JUDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Leeeesa's got blue hair!! <_<

yeah.......when hubby got home he comments that my hair is almost back to my original color.

ummmm, no......it's kinda blue in places and the rest is like faded black or maybe gray.

Never trust the opinion of a man who asks, "Is that a new shirt?" and your answer is, "It was 2 years ago." <_<

Maybe we should sic devil child on Janet's principal. I'll rent him out real cheap! Evidently, our dean is a f***ing b****, and the principal has an attitude problem.

The teacher is not his boss, and I just need to f*** off. :P

I remember once when I was at the middle school. I had gotten a perm that turned out waaay too curly. I had a good rapport with these girls , and their comment was," :D Oh....we like your hair :D ....you should put it in pig tails :D "

"Oh, sure......if I want to look like a poodle!"

Sorry but I don't have specific recommendations for doctors, however, starting out with good multivitamins/minerals would make sense. You may want to get your doctor to screen you for where you different levels are now to help identify any that are low, but since you're newly diagnosed within the past year, supplementation is usually essential for most celiacs.

Yes, I can imagine. My celiac journey started with a rejection of a blood donation by the Red Cross when I was 37 because of elevated liver enzymes. I wasn't a drinker and my family doctor checked me for hepatitis and I was not overweight. No answers. I thought no more about it until six years later when I landed a job in a healthcare setting where I got annual CMP screenings as part of my benefits. The liver enzymes were continually elevated and creeping up every year, though they were never super high. My primary care doc had no clue. I got really worried as your liver is pretty important. I finally made an appointment with a GI doc myself and the first thing he did was test me for celiac disease. I was positive. That was in about 1996. After going on a gluten-free diet for three months the liver enzymes were back in normal range. Another lab that had gotten out of whack that has not returned to normal is albumin/total protein which are always a little on the low side. I don't know what that's about, if it's related to the liver or something else like leaky gut syndrome. But my doctors don't seem to be worried about it. One thing to realize is that celiac disease can onset at any stage of life. There is a genetic component but there is also an epigenetic component. That is, the genetic component is not deterministic. It only provides the potential. There needs also to be some health or environmental stressor to activate the latent gene potential. About 40% of the population have the genetic potential to develop celiac disease but only about 1% actually do.

Hello @Heather Hill You are most welcome.  As a longstanding member and now mod of the forum, I am ashamed to say I find numbers and figures very confusing, so I rarely stray into the realms of explaining markers. (I've self-diagnosed myself with dyscalculia!)  So I will leave that to @Scott Adams or another person. However as a British person myself I quite understand that the process with the NHS can take rather a long time.  But just as you made a concerted effort to eat gluten before your blood test, I'd advise doing the same with eating gluten before a biopsy, in order to show if you are reacting to gluten.  It might be worth contacting the hospital or your GPs secretary to find out if they know what the current waiting time is. Here is a page from Coeliac UK about the current NHS recommendations. https://www.coeliac.org.uk/information-and-support/coeliac-disease/getting-diagnosed/blood-tests-and-biospy/#:~:text=If you remove or reduce, least six weeks before testing. Thanks again. My mom was diagnosed over 50 years ago with celiac so grew up watching her deal with the challenges of food. I have been tested a few times prior due to this but these results have me a bit stunned. I have a liver disease that has advanced rapidly with no symptoms and an allergy that could be a contributing factor that had no symptoms. I guess I’ll call it lucky my Dr ordered a rescreen of a liver ultrasound from 5 years ago that triggered this or I would likely have tripped into cirrhosis. It’s all pretty jarring.
    • Heather Hill
Many thanks for your responses, much appreciated.  The tests did include tTg IgA and all the other markers mentioned.  I also had sufficient total IgA so if I'm reading the Mayo clinic thing correctly, I didn't really need the anti-deaminated gliadin marker? So, if I am reading the information correctly do I conclude that as all the other markers including tTg IgA and DGP IgG and tTg IgG and EMA IgA are all negative, then the positive result for the immune response to gliadin, on it's own, is more likely to suggest some other problem in the gut rather than Coeliac disease? Until I have a view from the medics (NHS UK) then I think I will concentrate on trying to lower chronic inflammation and mend leaky gut, using L glutamine and maybe collagen powder. Thank you for your help so far.  I will get back in touch once I have a response, which sadly can take quite a long time.   Kindest Heather Hill
